So with the new Heresy box set Betrayal at Calth, I'm starting a new army.
It'll be used in both 30/40k so if some things look odd for one of the systems it's probably meant for the other one.

I decided on word bearers as I've never painted marines and I've never used transfers. I thought word bearers would be the perfect choice to try and smash both of these obstacles.

So here's what I've done so far. Hope someone will throw some kind words my way with comments and criticisms.

Obviously I can't have my army walking across the battlefield they'd be damn tired by the time they get to the enemy.

Energy they need for spreading the truths.

Looking good. I'm a tad jealous of your sweet ride. If I might make a suggestion painting-wise, those word-bearers would look sweet with green eyes, Maybe warpstone glow with a tiny dot of white at the back to get the lens effect? At any rate, you're off to a great start.

Brushcommando, I'll get round to the eyes and when I do I'll heed your suggestion and go with green eyes.

I've been busy as of late. Moving house, work, birthdays and Christmas jank.

In lieu of any work on the spartans I give you a look at my mostly basecoated centurion.

Trio of jet bikes.

I've converted one of the flying stands so it's lower and on a slant. Going for the riding low and hacking those lowly foot sloggers.

Think I'm going to base the stands and have the poles black. Thoughts on this?

I like the idea of based with clear poles, personally. Why are you leaning towards black?

I think black as a kind of cop out as I'll be spraying the base to match the rest of my army.

Nice to see some more Word Bearers here! They're looking good so far.

I've finally moved in to my house and set up my new painting station and here we have my first days work. Nearly finished though!

Love your Contemptor but, truthfully the first marine you posted is my favorite thus far.

It is looking really good, especially the banner.

Thanks he's also my favourite so far. Trying to get a hand on using decals. I've ruined a lot of word bearer scripture this far haha.

So today saw me paint up some more legionaries. Just standard bods. Got the transfers in place ready for weathering. These are about half way done. Decided on green for the eyes. Maybe as bright as moot green. We'll see what they look likei n comparison with the darkness of the rest of the model I also sprayed up another jet bike.
