I am starting an order force based around bretonnians. I converted a lord years ago and decided to build a force around him. The lord has wings and the army is themed around him. The heraldry will be based off his wings and sword. My thought is he is almost divine, or at least his troops believe he is divine.
The force will not be just bretonnians, I will also have dwarves, elves, and empire. I have a pretty large supply of old metal dwarves that I want to use, I think they will look really good on round bases.
My main goal is to have an army of all the models I really love. I am not concerned with the rules, but I want a mixed arms force of all the races. The main leader will be the bretonnian lord, and everyone will follow him. I am going to start with the cavalry portion of the army.

Here are the progress shots of the lord, He is finished and I decided to switch out the sword, but I don't have any completed shots. I should be able to post more photos tomorrow. Over the past moths I have worked on the lord and the questing knights. The questing knights are some of my favorite models from gw, and I am really happy with how they came out. I will post photos of all of them in the next couple of days. The heraldry on the lords shield is freehand and will be carried over throughout the army. It is a half sword with a wing attached.

Thanks for the comments! Here is a side view with his shield, I attached the same one by accident last night.

Evildrcheese good call, that st Celestine model is amazing. That's his bottom half, and his top half is and old slaanesh lord on foot.

I am not sure why those pictures posted sideways, I tried to do it from my phone. I should have some better pictures tonight.

I am also not sure why it posts 2 of the same image? I am definitely selecting 2 different pictures, I can see it in the thumbnail. Any suggestions?

Ok moving on, I can't get it to work. Hopefully the questing knights work better. Here is the first one I painted, I really like how the purple came out. These models more than anything else inspired me to do this army, I just think they have so much personality. All of the heraldry is themed around animals.

Thanks! The paving is plasticard for model trains, and then I sanded around it.

I guess I will just take pics of the models so they are wider then they are tall, and hopefully the images will show up the right way. I want to try and get my actual camera out this weekend to take pictures instead of the iPad. If you click the image it opens up and is right side up, so I am not sure of the solution for this webpage.

Thanks for the comments! That first questing knight is probably my favorite color pattern. I think this next guy has my favorite heraldry. I like the kind of abstract face.

Hopefully I will set up and use my good camera soon, but until then I guess I just have to put the pictures like this.

Here is my work in progress jade (life) Mage. He is an oop gw sculpt, and the stag is from the wild riders set. Still need to green stuff some of the gaps, but I like how it looks so far.

And the last model, the banner bearer. I decided to give him his own heraldry, and use the general's heraldry on the banner.

Ok now I am current! I just finished the army standard bearer, painted up to match the general. I really like how this guy came out, and the ridiculous helmet crest works for me when it is just painted in the same metal as the rest of his armor. Let me know what you think of everything! feedback is very welcome.

Ok on to what I am currently working on. I love the idea of an all mounted force, but the Knights of the realm are really showing their age in a bad way. I haves ton of the models, and the torsos are extremely static, the helmets are ridiculous, and the arms with the lance are pretty unnatural looking. You can't really have a lowered lance, it's just held at arms length out from the body, instead of tucked between the arm and body like normal. So that's my reasoning behind converting them. Here is what I have come up with. I can't find good knight helmets anywhere, so this is as close as I can find. Very happy with how they have come out.
