Alright so it has been a primer day today so just a quick shot of the pieces I am working on. The statue will be silver with a stone base and the statue will be very weathered. Also thanks to Silver for the idea of missing person signs! Stay tuned
Also since you guys said you don't mind, let me know what you think of my color scheme of my 10 man Veteran Squad
Here you go and as always thanks for the comments and support!

I like the camo, but you seem to have two different types goin on. Seems a bit odd the Sgt would have a totally different set of BDUs.

It is not bad, but I might be tempted to add in another overlapping dark colour.
Although the whole point of camo is to blend in, the scheme at the moment is a bit too blendy
Adding in the 4th darker colour will help to break it up a little.
Maybe even just some dots crossing several colours would really help, I feel.
Also, will you be adding any unit marks etc on the shoulders?

Thanks Silver
I may add a different color dot pattern. Also all my guard will get proper resin bases and proper squad/cadian decals when I am all done. Only 25 guardsman , 1/4 of a Valkyrie, 2 Chimeras, , 1/4 of a Leman Russ , and Yarrick to go before I get there
Hahahaha

Any thoughts on what bases you will be looking at getting?
And I've painted 20 of over 80 guardsmen (and I still need to finish sculpting and casting their heads and oxygen/filter packs), I've base coated 13 sentinels, and have to pimp out about 6 tanks, make 4 chimeras from the remains of basilisks, and make 4 Earthshaker platforms, so shh on your painting backlog
Not to mention all my other armies

Pretty cool. Have you looked at their actual site? They may give better prices there.
Also, Dragonforge do lots of bases. I don't know how their prices compare.

Holy Jesus I finally got to the end of this thing! Anyhoo, I love your city, far beyond my mediocre talents, but do you have any advice for doing water effects? I used them and failed massively both times. I painted, then added water effects, but from reading some of the posts here, it seems like I'm supposed to mix it witth paint or something??? Just seeking help from someone more experienced than myself with the stuff. ^^" Good luck with any further additions to this city of death, I'm sure they'll be as amazing as the others.

If your battle plan's working, it's probably a trap.

Well PM and tell me what went wrong with it. And no you don't have to mix paint into your water effects Thanks for the comment and again let me know what the end result was and I will gladly try to help you fix any issues!
Thanks again and as always keep the comment coming,

Statue looks great. Glad you went for the more rusted feel to it, I think it looks far better than the same old patina you see on most of the Honoured Imperium stuff.

well it depends on how abandoned you want the city to seem? If it's a long abandoned, but still important, location on an alien world, there should be vines everywhere.... that statue would look great with some vines on it.

I love doing vines on buildings and models. The only problem is that it is VERY permanent and if I don't like it I have to literally scrape them off and then sand the entire model. Maybe if I have a few beers I will be brave enough to just do it!
Thanks for the comment and suggestion,
Mike
