Hey Dakka Folks,

We're back at KickStarter, we've got the prototype in production, and we're determined to get this big fella made. We hope you'll join us!

https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/dungeoncrawler/dungeon-crawlertm-the-behemoth-extended/

There's a 1" spot on his crown to place a commanding figure, he has a removeable tongue and his base is a colossal 8x8 (8" / 200mm) round.

I checked out the campaign earlier and the cast looks quite cool... however, it looks like there's delay on earlier campaigns not yet delivering and being funds-dependent on shipping... could you explain that?

Certainly.

We used manufacturer #1 to make our first batch of minis. It took them 2 years to deliver something we considered subpar, so we shipped those out to the backers that wanted them so they could have something in-hand with the promise that we would rework the production models and reship them once we got back to them.

A year later, we've reworked them satisfactorily and got them at our warehouse, but we're out of funds from that campaign. So, I am literally paying for the shipping on the second wave from my own meager earnings to get these shipped out to our backers.

They are shipping, just slowly.

What was the problem? The unpainted minis I got from the first campaign seemed fine to me, and I got them pretty early.

Well, maybe not the mermaid, but that's probably more a case of Reaper Bones Face than a truly defective model.

Funds permitting I might back later on for the walking hut. Would make a great bit of terrain.

Did the dwarf owl riders or any of the other minis from the second campaign ever get funded?

Some assembly, and some paint jobs. So, yes, most of the unpainted figures turned out good except the Mermaid.

No. The Riders didn't make it.

I had a look, and I think the Behemoth's incredible tongue really sells the miniature. It's like a nightmare chameleon! Since there aren't pics of that here, I'm posting some. I hope these will be helpful to potential backers.

Seriously, the tongue is fantastic.

That's taking "GW Tongue Syndrome" to absurd levels!

I wish I had funds to pledge for this.

Clearly that tongue allows him to rock and roll all day and party every night.

Slannensh and the Emperors Children approve of that tongue. I love the Baba Yaga hut tho, nice model, I hope it hit retail one day

It's CAD, which means about 25% off for US backers. Not sure of your financial situation though, so thought I'd mention it, in case it did make a difference.

I am not very impressed with the level of detail on such a huge model, I have to say. I like the overall shape, but it doesn't feel like you're really going to town with fine detail the way you could with a canvas this big.

Well, I thought we did a pretty good job.

We're on the last day of the campaign, and have really started moving.

I think it's just fine. Not everything has to be a modern GW overly-detailed monstrosity, with stuff packed into every crevice.

Or to use as a separate monster.... (Pathfinder has a wormy critter that it would work just fine for.)

This is an extension of our campaign, we're hoping it will give this enough time to fund fully.

Backed for 3 copies! I remember you (or at least Greyhaze) from DDM boards. Good luck man!

BTW, fix your link in the OP. It takes you the expired campaign.
