So I had to post this out there to share some idea and see if anyone has already started converting the Goliath Truck for orks.

The kit is very nice, and sufficiently orky to require little conversion.
Issues were:
- some minor Genestealer symbols. very discreet and easy to remove
- need some plating here and there
- wheels are too "neat"

benefits are:
+ not symetrical
+ heavy plating at the front, weak at the back, like most ork vehicles
+ plenty of turrets and doors.

So I bought it to initially make a grot Trukk...
Realising how sturdy it looked, I thought I should look toward looted wagon and potentially FW vehicles.
- Grot Tank: too long !
- Grot mega Tank: too short (but see you could use the build below)
- Trukk: needs a tiny platform overhanging at the back to increase length but the front looks a lot more resilient than a typical trukk
- Big Trakk: would need some tracks, but not bad. Shape is odd though
- Gunwagon: could work
- Mekboy Junka: looks great, especially with the mining arm on the side which can be converted into a SAG

When I started playing with the massive reinforced ram at the front, it was totally on par with battlewagon, all I needed was to increase the length.
a while back I had cut the BW model and used the front cabin for a battlefortress so I still had the back platform and tracks.

So I put both of them together and this is the result:
[Pic below]

To me it screams Battleagon, it has the right size, the strong AV14 front, the weaker sides, and the large platform at the back.

I need to figure out how to beef up the front wheels, potentially add tracks to it, but you get the idea.
Anyone else converted the Goliath and can share pics?

Nice job. Looking forward to see it painted.

Agies Grimm:The "Learn to play, bro" mentality is mostly just a way for someone to try to shame you by implying that their metaphorical nerd-wiener is bigger than yours. Which, ironically, I think nerds do even more vehemently than jocks.

Everything is made up and the points don't matter. 40K or Who's Line is it Anyway?

Looks good. I too have spare BW tracks and was considering something similar.

Personally I'd do something to cover or remove the back wheel arches, or keep just their front halves as arches for the tracks?

And I think the wheels are fine as is - it's supposed to represent a looted vehicle and so would keep whatever wheels it previously had. A version with _two_ sets of front wheels (like the BW kit but using Goliath wheels) could be cool (although a lot of conversion work).

I am definitely going to work on the arches.
The back one will be easy to cover with the plating required for the sides, the front one is the challenge.

I'm thinking maybe turrets or plating that will come down and cover the wheels

Good thread! I bought 4 plain hulls from a bitz site myself. The first one goes to my Squat gang for Necromunda and is open-topped, which required a fair bit of work.

For the rest, I plan on making one fairly stock with Ork bitz as a Mekboy Junka. One I will split, use the cab for some other project like a scratch-built battlewagon much like yours, use the rear to extend the bed of the last one, probably count that as a Big Trakk or BW as well.

Seated driver eventually, probably magnetized.
