I have been confused about this....

We know the Lion, Roboute, and Russ have blond hair. (the only primarchs that have blond hair i believe)

Sanguinius has often been shown with blonde hair but in the black library books it says he has black hair

what will Forge World's future model for him be (since it seems like these models are suppose to be the official look of the primarchs)

P.S: Black library novels Artwork depict him as blonde btw.

so we can assume the forge world model will feature blond hair for him

If I remember correctly, the Black Library description of Sanguinius with black hair which is always brought up when this question is asked was stated to be because he was in mourning.

so it could of been more of a symbolic thing

because like someone else mentioned in the black library covers he is portrayed with blonde hair

So Sanginius, Russ and The Lion all have the same haircut and haircolor combo

I was about to suggest so many of the primarchs have long hair because neckbeards so often have long hair, but then it occurred to me I never see that any more. I think it ceased to be a thing when goths become emos in the mid 00's

They too know that long blonde hair just is the prettiest

Also I am pretty sure that Sanguinius has had one or more emo periods in which he dyed his hair black.

The hint is in the word 'lion'. He's usually depicted with hair that would be hard to describe without the word 'mane'.

While we have no direct data, we do know that Sanguinius is considered by many to be the most handsome and sexy Primarch. This probably means that he had the longest and therefore most luscious golden manes of all.
Again, we have no direct data, so it could also mean that Sang just had a better conditioner.

Even more interesting to the blonde loyalist stilist is the bald chaos connection. Why Horus, Lorgar, Perturabo, Mortation and Angron are balds? Is a sign of corruption? How many of us had fall to Chaos and we don´t know yet?

I wondered on this as it's been both black and blonde. An explanation is provided in Unremembered Empire, I believe, that it changes with his mood. I'll have a looksie and see if I can find the quote.

Well now I've got a mental picture of the Lion getting pissed off that there's constantly hair in his eyes when he's fighting.

Every reference to him I've found states he had blonde hair.

If it was any color but blonde, I don't want to be right.

I always thought Sangy had dishwater blonde hair, though I'm pretty sure the latest codex says recruits become blonde after their transformation in the sarcophagi

I tend to envision him as blonde because I've always pictured him as the "imagine of angelic perfection"

Thank goodness my primarch is a relatively small bald dude.
