So I haven't been collecting for many years. I am all set to begin a new army, paint scheme and everything. Then I review the tactical squad jus one more time before buying and notice changes in the legs and now I feel let down ... im looking specifically to see if they have knee cap legs which I'm after as apposed to disco shaft flair soccer shin pad. It's like mixing forgeworld hores heresy fashion with 40k ... my opinion doesn't quite meet the unified squad I'm after... what do I do?

The modern tactical squad is about half and half knee pads to flared greaves. This is about consistent with the kit from the nineties. There are a couple sets of the MK VI greaves armor, (with parts to do a full set of corvus if you like) and at least one of the squarer knee pads from the MK IV suit.

If you're not opposed to bits shopping I'm sure you could acquire more via ebay.

Options:
1. Lump it - there's nothing Horus Heresy about having older armourt marks in your army. Mk. VI (greaves) has been in the tactical squad boix since its inception.
2. Swap the Mk. VI legs with someone who has Mk. VII they're willing to part with.
3a. Buy exclusively from bits sites/ebay so you only get the parts you want.
3b. Explore 3rd party options like Kromlech or Anvil to see if they have legs you prefer.
