Just an Idea, but you could add some jewelers chain between the gun shield and the cannon mouth and then attach victory trophies from it. You could do marine helmets, a pendant of some sort or even a spare knight face plate a a memento of conquest.

Looking real good, great usage of a fair few fantasy parts and the gauntlet conversion looks brutal. Excellent freehand on the pauldrons as well.

That is a good idea, I do worry though that the super glue may frost and ruin the paint job and that is my only hesitation in trying something like that when everything is painted already.

Thanks man! I can't take credit for the gauntlet idea as I got it from a gw store facebook page but I wanted to make it more chaos like and buzzsaws scream chaos to me (and orks I guess ).

Well I am almost there, I literally just got to paint the rim of the base and that is about it., (I am still on the fence about that trophy idea theophony)

How could such a gracious warrior fall so low.

Nicely done Ust. I like Theo's idea too but, if you think it will cause damage, then I can only advise to do it carefully if you go that cool route.

Alright so I finally finished the chaos knight! It was a really fun build and it pushed my painting and kit bashing skills to new heights. Sadly I don't think these pictures do it justice, as it is hard to get everything to fit together on photoscape

Up next I am going back to 30k as I have a deadline to meet! And maybe a few other dark mechanicus pieces thrown in if I finish the RG faster than my schedule has me at.

Great work . I love the extra gore, it is exactly chaotic enough to shove it over the top.

Thanks theo! I am glad you liked the gore, sadly the model didn't do that well in the painting competition only getting 3 votes to the 6 of first place. Kinda discouraging but I will be shifting back to the legion soon so that will take my mind off of it.

Well it has been a while since my last update, I decided to take a bit of a break after rushing to finish that knight in 10 days . So in the mean time as I am waiting for a good day to prime I built up a tactical support squad with melta guns since I am needed more anti armor in my army. I also plan on getting a 5 man lascannon team made and making my leviathan siege dreadnought ready also (that thing is seriously a beast). I need to use magnets so I can switch out its arms and my first idea fell through when I found out the arms for the dread are glued in at the "elbows" and since I have no idea how to magnetize I am at an impasse. It is a similar elbow joint to a contemptor so if any of you all have any experience with that let me know!

Good choice on the melta support squad, I have one for my AL and they are dangerous...
Good luck magnetizing the Leviathan, it certainly looks like a beast of a kit.

The only thing I worry about is how fragile they are at 5 men, but I suppose I can always bump them up to ten at some point

I will for sure, I am thinking of getting 4mmx 2mm rare earth magnets as they were suggested by another leviathan builder and they have an almost 2 pound strength so that is more than enough for the arms.

Alright so a bit more work done this weekend, I got the entire 10 man batch base coated and I was able to wash the leviathan and its arms. Along with getting the under slung las cannons wash and I gotta say they look really good! Tomorrow will be very busy for me (yay finals crunch time) so I hope to get more painting done on tuesday.

Thanks man, gotta write a 10 page paper today but thankfully I went through my books last night and wrote down all the page numbers I will be using for references and made a rough outline so it shouldn't take *too* long.

As for the leviathan, I think since I am magentizing the arms I may as well order the other two weapons so I have the full armory for it

Alright as the week and last normal week of the semester has winded down I found myself with some time to work on my leviathan dread. It was an interesting kit to make much like the contemptor where you have lots of freedom to pose the model. I went with the classic forgeworld pose of walking slowly forward. Also since secret weapon miniatures does not make 80mm bases yet for the line I use I had to make my own base using greenstuff and a greenstuff roller from greenstuff world. But I was able to magnetize all of the weapons and hull mounted options (which is a first for me and I think it turned out great).

It is! I've been trying around with how I will be using it and I will probably be getting a dreadnought drop pod for him. Especially since it's an assault vehicle, you don't have to open up the doors when it lands and it gains shrouded for the first turn. As for the melta lance it is awesome, heavy 3 but only with a 19 inch range.
