I am looking for some tips on extending dreadnought legs as I think the standard ones are too short. I've done some searching and really like the look of the following

It looks like there is a combination of some pieces to extend the hip joints (a rhino hatch). I am looking for some tips on the legs / knee joints and the shin guards.

You could try to use the legs from the contemptor dread.

Maybe parts from te new redemptor could work?

How much work you looking to put in?

aint harder then buying a pair of dread legs+leg plates from one of the many bit sellers on ebay and go nuts with the clipper.

paperclip and greenstuff is your freind for weak joints.

I used sentinel legs for mine.

Thanks for the responses so far. Im hoping to keep a similar look to the dreadnought legs just make them a bit taller. I am not worried about putting work in, just looking to get some tips before wasting any more bits.

I had an attempt before at making leg plates that covered the whole leg but struggled to get an even finish, could see the green stuff lines.

I'll try and get my old dread out tonight and get a pic up here.. Basically it was about a 1/4" green stuff pad under the torso (not too much to throw off the distribution or even be visible)...and then I took the pistons in the legs, replaced them with paper clip posts to "extend the pistons"..it was 3-4 parts being extended small amounts vs one big extention somewhere to make it look more uniform ......yeah i'll just get it out tonight...I forgot how i did it exactly it was years ago.

I used some old VOTOMS kit legs I had laying around.

This may be of interest, I'm not sure how much taller it will make it but it at least has knees.

I wish I could do the same with the metal dreads, the legs are
Stumpy for what it is, but it would be too much hassle
You’d end up with a top heavy model unless it was perfectly straight.

I did have to find a replacement set of metal legs, I had broke the original on the knee when I was stripping them, 20yr old superglue was like a rock.

Could give it a go to see what it would look like.
