Hey guys I'm working on rebuilding my guard army and I want to do something different for my new soldiers which will make the army have more a modern feel to it. While I've had great success with infantry, Victoria Miniatures has lots of great guard bits, and I used Rhino treads and Auto cannon barrels to convert my Chimeras into something that looks almost like a Bradley IFV. I've been at a loss of ways to convert my Russes into something that matches the design rest of the army. Ideally I'd like to find something that I could use to replace or extensively modify the body of the russ and still attach the Russ's turret. Any suggestions or pics of where to look?

Big fan of the "reversed Russ" to make them look a bit more modern.
Believe there are a couple on here, this is one thread where he does one....

Yeah I've seen a few of those on google and they look pretty sweet, but I still they are too bulky for what I'm looking to do and I don't know how well I could make the look consistent across multiple models. Has anyone tried to do a predator russ conversion? I haven't seen any pictures online so I don't know if it works. What about using pieces from a Leopard 2 model?

A common idea is to hybridize in varying degrees the Chimera and Russ into a heavy kitbash. How much is up to you, I've seen some where they took the top and engine section off the Russ and fitted it to the Chimera, or modified the top piece of the Chimera to have space for the turret section of the Russ and make other modifications on the Chimera back.

Chimera/Russ, Engine deck vent merged into Chimera Back and full turret section added.

Using the chimeras chassis and predator turrets gives a nice modern MBT feel, even though the dimensions are all GW weird.

Please excuse any spelling errors. I use a tablet frequently and software keyboards are a pain!

Yeah I like the Chimera and Russ kitbashes but not so much the treads. Maybe by replacing the treads with Rhino treads it may look better.
I made a quick mockup in Photoshop of what I might try out.
I will start out with a Chimera Chassis: No treads or rear and the top section ether pulled back or removed completely.
Then I will add the Russ body: Remove the front from where the front turret and viewport start. Pretty much only the main turret and engine will remain.
After attaching the Russ body to the Chimera frame I will take the Rhino treads and glue those on the side covering up any holes with puddy and plasticard

Lol just noticed what happened there, sadly I have no fruit at home right now or I would've already posted a pic of a true Lemon Russ
