Those are very good names.
Too bad GW couldnt hold onto any of those when they had the chance to get them or had them.
I am in whenever they release this game. Hopefully origins or gen con will have more to say on this.

With the galaxy as large as it is the odds of the average guardsmen seeing and fighting a marine or MEQ are relatively slim. Unfortunately the guardsmen in your (and anyone else who plays IG's) army are the REALLY, REALLY LUCKY ones that fight marines ALL the time... |

There will be both types available; prepainted and not prepainted. We don't exactly know how it'll work price-wise, but that's the way it'll be. Apparently, the pre-painting is also of very good quality (as in, upper tabletop quality with highlights and such) as Rackham went to a lot of work to find someone who could produce the minis and prepaint them well for cheap.

Prepainted mecha means it's probably a cheaper version of the Gashapon toys. Yay!

No argument needed. As a neutral shade of black mentioned- the models will be sold in both prepainted and unpainted versions. This was confirmed by a Rackham staff member on their forums. It's a done deal.

Aye, but there's still going to be the elitist hobby snobs vs. the lazy gamer nerds. If the "well painted with highlights" thing is true, then it'd be pretty fun to stick it to the "But you didn't paint it yourself!" hobby snobs who don't even have the same level of painting quality on their figs.

Posted By NAVARRO on 06/15/2006 7:21 AM im curious to see prepainted quality also... if a thing we know is rackham knows his stuff.
Regarding The Guy behind Rackham (I don't recall his name), I've heard from folks who know him that his attention to quality control in the painting department is "obsessive", "anal", "O.C.D.", etc... The miniatures we see in their ads? Supposedly every one of them needs to cross his table before it gets photographed for publication, and if he sees something even slightly "off," they have to paint the thing over again. I've been reassured that those same standards will be reflected in the pre-painted stuff.

" It's a complete new game and universe with Mecha and Heavy-armor battles. We actually work hard on it, to provide players with great miniatures Mecha in plastic well-painted. But every players will be able if they decide to do it to re-paint the models as they want, with their own color sheme. As for Confrontation and Rag'Narok games, we want to have the best quality as possible for the heavy-armor in plastic. The working process is simply different but perfectible as the different between our very first models miniatures and now. It's a different inside team who works on this game, the Confrontation/Rag'Narok team continue to create and produce miniatures and new armies for the med-fan games in the same time. Every players will be able to play to different Rackham games depending on what kind of universes (med-fan or Sci-Fi) they want to play."
"...regarding the quality of pre-painted mini, it's only a question of what a company wants to do. If a company wants and pay for a pre-painted quality mini, it will take more time and will be more expensive from our side but we will have great results. It's our choice... and it's simply the way : one of the Confrontation sucess is the quality of our models. We think at Rackham that if we provide pre-painted mini, we MUST purpose a great quality even for a pre-painting model, as for our Confrontation minis with the sculpting process which is very different from the traditional way of working in the industry. From our side the point is to produce enought quantity in a industrial way to have a finish model not to expensive. In this case the more you produce the best price you have and which mean that we will be able to have a finished fair price for our public. The choice of the plastic is one of the important point, we can't produce this kind of models in metal if we want to have a good quality standard as it will be a non-sense to produce this kind of models in metal and have a fair price too.

Yeah, that would be because none of them are 100% done yet. The whole thing is still in the works, and those pics you linked to are old preproduction model trials. I hope the final product looks something like those, actually; I quite like them (euromech > animech). Elusive71 is right, by the way - Rackham quality control is as strict as you'll get. This is a big part of why AT43 was delayed a couple of time and is still in the works.

Straight Sci-Fi. The Weird War 2 game thing ended up being Dust, a kind of weird amalgam of action figures and comic books.

Those mechs look like they were heavily inspired by Kow Yokoyama´s comic/manga Ma.K. Machinenkrieger mechs and armored suits . Here is a link to his cool artwork http://www.trooperpx.com/SF3D/Omake.html Anyway I like them and hope they are not prepainted stuff...

Cool, hopefully they will stick close to some of Ma.K´s really cool mechs like the Gladiator (the quadroped mech in the pic from Kikkoman above, which is a nice prepainted /assembled 1/35 kit that I can highly recommend for fans out there, got my own one some time ago).
Looks like I will have to start buying another new game system at christmas...whileWM,Hordes,Confrontation already eat up my money, hehe

Agreed. I hope they aren't scrapping those early designs totally for these eggs (which are fine I guess, just not something I'd want as the only types of mecha).

No, no. Those are not the AT-43 models. Those are from a series of models called Maschinen Krieger, which are a 1/35 scale series from the aforementioned Sci-Fi line. Completely unrelated. Not sure why that pic is there.

Ma.K was mentioned, and they do look like Ma.K designs. Those are also in 1/35 scale which could be usable.
Though I thought they were going for humanoid Giant Robots, these look nothing like that early picture that was around a year ago.
I'm kinda dissapointed at what I see so far. The stylistic change to something more 'realistic' isn't the problem, just that they don't seem so great.
