Finally decided on a colour scheme for my custom chapter. problem is in a fit of insanity.. it's yellow. I'm wondering how people have found the yellow conrast paints.

Opinions are not facts please don't confuse the two

I enjoy the look of Nazdreg yellow, and have used it to satisfactory standards so far to mimic gold.

I haven't tried the other one, but from what I've seen, it's a solid contrast paint.

I'm very happy with how Iyanden Yellow tints a pre-shaded test model. I find the resulting tone very satisfying.

This was a quick test job and I'm hoping to be able to do that a little more neatly in the future. Currently I don't have the time and motivation to look into it any more. I haven't even finished painting the rest of the model.

I’ve used Iyanden over bright metal primer and it goes on pretty nice, turns orange in the recesses so you can shade the corners with brown or black. That’s just like one coat.

I also bought two of the Eldar apocalypse boxes to make an Iyanden army and I’ll probably use it on them too.

Which of the two primers did you use for this model by the way?

I also put it over gold which made it very yellow-ish. Thinned down with medium it might be a good compliment to make a bright, high contrast gold.

Wraithbone primer, makes it nice and warm compared to grey seer.

Supposedly snakebite leather over it can be used to do pretty good looking nmm gold in a rush so to speak. Seen couple photos but haven't tried it yet(I have nothing on my paint list that requires gold yet! Though easterlings could be good test attempt when I get that far in my painting backlog...)
