I want to cnonvert up 10 chaos warriors to wolf guard with jump packs.

I have done a smaler convertion before and it worked out OK. But in these I am thininking on leaving the mostly like they are and gluing in jump packs. (Actually magnetice them if I ever want to run a landraider for fun.)

However... I need to get rid of the chaos symbols on the shield. I can just scrape them of and that will be OK. But I need something new there.

I was thinking of dressing some paper in green stuff and then roll a green stuff roling pinn over it. And then fix the paper to the shield. It could work. But it also sounds like it can go wrong in many ways. Do you think some form of green stuff stamp would be better? Or some other suggestion.

A link to the chaos warriors I am thinking of. (Of course they only come in this new start collecting army pack.) It is the 10 foot soldiers. https://www.games-workshop.com/en-NO/Start-Collecting-Slaves-To-Darkness-2019

I would say go to a craft store with a beads/jewelry making section. You can get tiny little "Celtic knots" or similar patterns, for very cheap. A bit of sanding and maybe trimming (like if they have an obvious eyelet for a string or chain) and you're good to go.

They're super easy to find online, you just have to be a lot more careful about what size you're actually buying, and you'll likely have to buy a pack of 10 or 50 models. In-store, you can usually buy them individually.

Oh Canada!

Alternatively, source one symbol/emblem/medal bit of your choice, and use greenstuff/bluestuff to make a cast. Then you can apply it as many times as you want directly to the jump packs. Green stuff copies stick better to original parts and can easily be customized or tweaked.

Yeah that could be. But it is hard to find a good place to start.Them chaoss shields are huuuuge.

I did use some green stuff molds to make a wing shelter for my tyranid warrior wings.

It's way cheaper to get a mechanical pencil and sketch the symbol over your acrylic base and then fill it in with paint.

I do not know what that means. Can you explain?

Sand down or fill in the symbols you don't like and then freehand what you want on him. You know... art. Just draw whatever you like and paint it in.

With the sieze of the shields I really can not hand paint ten symbols. I need another solution.

If you can get the shields smooth enough, then print your own transfers?

Not sure what the paper is for in your original post…

Please excuse any spelling errors. I use a tablet frequently and software keyboards are a pain!

I do believe it is easier to roll on paper and then transfer it to the shield. Then to roll next on the shield as they do not seem completely flat.

Ah, I understand. I can also recommend rolling on a CD case or something equally smooth. Smear some Vaseline on and the Gs won’t stick.

This is exactly what I do for a lot of my bases, with one difference: after (or before) cutting out the piece I soak it in water for a few minutes, and then the paper backing rubs off very easily.

I did not thinking about removing the paper. Just glue ut on the shield. But that might be easier.

Perhaps paper used for food could be easier.

I've been using these greenstuffworld rollers lately, and I think that the paper bit may be an unnecessary and slightly overcomplicated step. Like other posters, I've had my best results with just a slab of cheap acrylic plastic with plenty of vaseline. You should be able to just lift the greenstuff straight off the plastic once it's cured a little, and the stuff stays really pliable for quite a while because of how thin you can get it with the rollers, so I'd imagine you'll have few troubles getting it onto your space wolves' shields after that.

I will warn you that the GSW rollers often leave slight grooves from their tooling marks engraving the grooves to make the patterns for their rollers, so if you have some rubber shapers (though tbh a well-lubricated finger also works fine), to take the edge off of that, make sure you keep it handy.

Sounds like a great conversion though, hope you post the results!

Thanks.

I do not think I will be doing it yet. The plastic budget is all full.

I did do some old conversions of the old space wolf kitt. But I would like to do another one on the new chaos warriors.
