So, I really like the Tau Battlesuit rules, especially in 9th edition- the whole drop in-move-shoot-bounce-fall back-shoot-bounce-gone paradigm. It gives me all sorts of Starship Troopers (original novel) vibes, which is something I've been looking to build an army around for a while. A very elite, very mobile, very shooty army- perhaps not super-effective, depending on the tides of GW balance and meta, but probably a blast to play.

The kicker is the models- I suppose they're okay if you want to play Tau, but if you want to reskin as another group using similar technology and tactics (like a tech-heretical human group or some particularly overarmored Eldar), the distinct Tau aesthetic makes re-conversion extremely difficult.

Does anyone have any good sources for battlesuit or power armor miniatures (~60mm tall) that can be converted using various guns and parts? GW or non, either works for me. Even a 3D print pattern or the like could be a starting point.

My particular inspiration is the following examples from the old Starship Troopers anime- heavy, bulky, suits that go air-mobile through very powerful jump jets. Any thoughts?

Have you tried Heavy Gears? they have a similar loadout to Tau battlesuits in terms of mixtures of energy, ballistic and missile weapons. If you are happy to print them, then you should be able to match the scale you are after.

Please excuse any spelling errors. I use a tablet frequently and software keyboards are a pain!

Thanks, I'll look into them!
