Aliens and heretics beware; The mighty 3rd platoon of the little known Vigilant Wombats chapter, ready to do their duty for the God Emperor of Mankind.

These are painted entirely with oil paint fwiw.

They seem a little longer in the body. Have you done some kind of truescale modifications? The more desaturated greens look nice with the red. It doesn't make them look Christmas ornaments.

Ask yourself: have you rated a gallery image today?

They look really nice. Were you using quick drying oils or was it wet blended all the way? 😁

He paint job looks amazing, but there is something weird going on with the proportions is missing leg day one of the defining traits of the chapter

Please excuse any spelling errors. I use a tablet frequently and software keyboards are a pain!

Yeah, I've made them all taller.

As far as the colours go, they were supposed to be like army-green and dark rust orange. I think they look more like that in real life but the photos make them look a bit redder than they are.

Thanks for the compliment on the paintjob.

I have made them all taller, but I think it's just the camera angle playing tricks. I can see what you mean in those photos, but they don't look disproportionate in real life.

I think especially in the second photo, the dude to the right looks very warped by the camera.

No, they're artist's oil paints. lol. So they were wet for several days!

As a bonus, the paint dries really strong - it's hard to chip it or anything once it's set. I guess that's part of the reason those painting by the old masters are still around today.

Those look great, and different from anything i've seen before. The grey-green colour is really nice. Love the sergeant.

I really like the idea that, like most cultures in the 41st millennium, they have almost zero idea of what life was really like back in the the 2nd or 3rd, so they all think Wombats were some ferocious beast of old Terra and thus appropriate for heraldry.
