How do you store your paint brushes when not in use? I don't have a dedicated hobby space and usually hobby at my computer desk. While I try to keep hobby supplies and paints in the small cabinet besides the desk, I always end up with brushes on the desk. I currently have a small bag that I keep the brushes in but as I'm constantly annoyed trying to fish them out of the bag they just end up on the desk. Any suggestions on how store them so that they are no longer on the desk and is better than a bag?

I have been using some kind of a cup for about three decades until recently.(Latest iteration is a red solo cup from about 10 years ago, maybe longer) Once I got a Army Painter Wet Pallet about a year or so ago, I have been using their brush rack ever since.

All my brushes are thrown pell-mell in a big novelty cup awaiting the day when I might stop using my haggard old brush and deign to chose a new one. The one/s being used currently are balanced precariously atop my water cup so they're out of the way.

I use a cutlery holder, like this. Being sectioned is quite nice too as i can organise various brush types into different sections.

I use a little toolbox with a lift-out tray. Paints go in the bottom, paint brushes and other tools (hobby knife, clippers, spatula, sculpting tools etc) go in the tray on top. Other paints, and bigger items like pin vice and tubes of epoxy resin/putty go in a couple of shoe boxes.

I have an Ikea Skadis pegboard on the wall over my desk. I've printed some specific brush holders, but Ikea has a range of cups and stuff for Skadis that could also be used.

Please excuse any spelling errors. I use a tablet frequently and software keyboards are a pain!

I used to use a test tube rack (and still do for old dead brushes I occasionally use) but heard that storing them point up was not the best. So these days my active brushes are just laid out in a row flat on my desk.

But I have a dedicated space.

When i was painting on the go, I kept my paints/brushes in a cardboard card box, the kind you see used to store CCG cards. Brushes were folded into a paper towel and kept on top of the paint pots.

I like to ruin my brushes by forgetting to clean them... they become really easy to store in the trash can.

Form the suggestions I am thinking some sort of brush case might work best. Or maybe a couple so I can divide the brushes up a bit. Thanks.
