I tried to ask about if there would be more OpFor as an add on option, and whether or not Lockdown might include extra figures to use in that mode.

...they weren't sure what I was asking exactly.

I guess I can hope for the best and cross my fingers this hits 700k so we can find out.

Special Characters

All the unique characters are considered SPECIAL OpFor. All the special characters (cameo or canon) appear when prompted by the Event deck. When an Agent moves into LoS, or when a MERCS moves into LoS of an Agent, an Event card is drawn and OpFor is placed into the structure based off of Agent color and Security Level. Entries in these locations have wording such as: 3 Security Force I or 2 Workers. Sometimes, however, an entry will read: 2 Security Force II OR Special. In this case, if the players have a Special character (cameo or canon), then it can be placed instead of the regular SecFor.

We understand some people have no intention of using the cameo characters (or they are going to be selective) and we wouldn't want to force anyone into using these types of characters. However, each character brings unique things to the table.

I am going to categorize these cameo character by SECFOR level.
SecFor I

Sgt. Pal - When Pal appears in the structure, instead of attacking the MERCS, he attempts to reach an exit. If he makes it to the exit, then the Security Level increases immediately and 1 purple Agent appears in each stairs. Welcome to the party, indeed.

Assistant to the Regional Manager - The Assistant is a Worker/SecFor I hybrid. He will attack the MERCS instead of fleeing, but can also be captured. His Interrogation Threshold is quite low, so will sing like a canary with almost no effort. When he is captured all the OpFor in the building give the MERCS an ovation...okay, I may have made that last bit up.
SecFor II

The Cleaner - The Cleaner is a professional. He attacks two targets once with a focused attack, can take special advantage if in areas provide armor, and can move after the attack if he damages both targets. He is pretty tough to track down and finally kill.

Conner - Like in Myth, Conner is unpredictable. Unlike Myth, he has two very large mini-guns attached to a harness. He causes large amounts of collateral damage (which as we know can increase the Security Level) and runs away during the MERCS phase when attacked.

GCC Agent - The Agent has been touched upon in a previous update, but as a reminder the most pertinent text. He doesn't attack the MERCS directly, if he can help it. His line-of-sight becomes the MERCS line-of-sight (LoS is shared through the GCC Agent). Suddenly agent blips are becoming miniatures all over the place and the security level increases by leaps and bounds.
SecFor III

Roy McClane - Roy was invited to the party by mistake. He is highly mobile, has special movement rules that make him difficult to lock down, and increases in attack power the more collateral damage discs exist in the structure.

Salsa & Pesos - These two cops will drive you crazy. They appear together, but can only appear if the Special replaces 3 traditional OpFor. They are good shots and do not attack based off of highest priority. They can also capture MERCS based off of Area majority.
SecFor IV

CPP-1 - The CPP-1 has a very powerful focused attack weapon and good armor. He gets to reroll one miss and can shoot through Areas with other OpFor without hurting them. He also has a Reserve Attack that can activate in the MERCS phase.

GCC Judge - Has special appearance rules based off of Employees killed. As a special character appearing for the OpFor, the Judge is lethal. If he is called on the scene, it is highly likely a MERCS will die, possibly several. If he is within 3 areas of a B&C he is pulled in.
SecFor IV+

CPP-209 - The 209 fills an entire Area. Does massive amounts of damage, both focused and collateral. And has really thick armor. He hates stairs...

I saw mention from McG that Lockdown will in fact include some OpFor.

Good to know. Would be nicer to know how many, and at what level, but it's a start....at less than 3 days to go.

You know the most memorable fights are going to be the ones at those high threat levels too.

I want to see more of the crazy experimental stuff getting wheeled out when you're up in the 4+s.

Just confirm you're going to give us a big pile of bad guys and I'll up my pledge!

@477k this morning, 18th stretch goal unlocked,.... Now at 91 minis.



It is just a few hours away from the 48hr mark,......

It would seem to be on pace to achieve the 3000 backer goal and at least get into some of these higher stretches,.... How far? Let's see what they have left up their sleeves.

They need about 340 backers to hit that goal. If they hit that, it will be close I think.

We'll see. I would like to see this get high enough to really tempt me to take that $100 mission pack set.

While I don't think it will have a huge burst like MYTH,... It will have a boost,..... They added over 100 backers yesterday,......

Actually, I think that the "MYTH" pledge folks create the biggest threat to getting to 3000,.... Some could likely PtP,....

My gut tells me that it will make it past 650,..... But is that trickster built corrupted clockwork thing enough to keep them?

Yeah,.... I was looking at the actual last 24 hours,....

Kicktraq looks at their calendar day,... Because of this, there will be an extra half day tracked at the end,.....

I guess it is just too complicated to track the actual days for them with variable start times

If those mission packs can continue to unlock, I can see a lot of people upping to the all in add on.

If t his keeps going, I'm going to have to suck it up add in for an agent level pledge or whatever.

At the very least I'll be getting an interesting game and all sorts of fodder for various other uses.

I think we might have finally reached the tipping point where more people are deciding that this is really a pretty good value. No doubt there will be a substantial boost from the $100-for-all-expansions option when they reach it, I can see a lot of people going for that.

I was skeptical this would really pick up near the end but it turns out I was wrong, they are accelerating and it looks like it will finish strong.

If it manages to hit 600k there would be 6 mission packs total so you'd be getting 2 for free.

even at $500K it will be giving you one for free,.... and that is right around the corner,.... I'd guess later today,... once the 48 hour reminders go out, there should at least be a little of a surge.

If it even looks like it's hitting 600k I'll go in for the base pledge, the mission pack bundle, and the exclusives. So basically all in. But it'll need to be hitting that number before I wanna go in that heavy. I might still consider the 120 base pledge but I really like a lot of the additional mini's from the mission packs and am a bit of a collect them all type so without those it looses some of it's interest for me.

I sucked it up and went in for a base pledge.

It *IS* starting to be a good deal, and with the 500k right around the corner (most likely dropping in the next few hours), things should start to get exciting.

If they really do have 8 or 9 mission packs planned like they mentioned, that 100 dollar all in is going to become a hell of a deal. At that point I need to consider upping (or maybe splitting with Barzam like we talked about a month ago).

I hope it can hit 700k so I can get my lockdown mode (and some extra OpFor guys). If it doesn't reach I'm sure they'll offer it via the Pledge Manager.

Best in game with locations
Excellent team bonuses
Priority is very important to success, especially in B&C events
Don’t get a lot of easy kills (collateral damage kills)

Armor reduces OpFor attack dice, even in the B&C

Best Interrogation in the game
B&C events tend to be hotly contested

Sigh I really hope they reach 600.... they should have done so a week or two ago, but it is heavily mismanaged and the homage minis hurt it more than they helped it.

But the strech goals are the heaviest offenders.

Well they've added about 30k in pledges today and it's still rising. They're doing well but I still think 600k is going to be a real challenge.

Personally I want them to hit 700k for the new game mode/pack but I just don't see that happening.

Well yeah, 700k would be great. but I'll settle for the deal you get at 600k. That would make it an irresistable KS for me. The game might be cool but I love the mini's. Cause while I generally only get to play GW games due to my schedule (they have the most miniature events in the areas I normally am) I like to paint all kinds of stuff. And $270 for around 150 models works out fine for me

Is it weird that i'm looking forward to the civilian minis more than the mercs and opfors? I've painted too many suits of armor (plate, powered, carapace, flak, and so on) to count but honestly can't say I've painted a random office worker or scientist with a trenchcoat. This will be my first chance to paint a miniature with a tie!

Definitely like the variety of the figures. All the merc factions have their own styles, then you get lab workers, office workers, and zombies (if it hits that level). And a dog with machine guns! Kind of a fun bonus side effect overall.
