Don't really like the Master of the Marches- kinda stupid having those two great big speakers on the back to relay orders on the battlefield. That's what their helmet vox-comms are for! Idiots.

Not in an army where every CO and NCO has lost his helmet

But I agree, those Finecast details snap fast

There's no conversion beamer backpack on the GW Techmarine.

A pity at the GK Techmarine shares the same model, because they can take Conversion Beamers and they don't have it in the Techmarine box...

He might attract the attention of Slaanesh, who will issue a C&D to him for copying Noise Marines

No reason they can't be transmitters in addition to speakers.

I'm just glad everyone finally gets access to a generic Astorath and a Chief Chaplain.

I mean, how long has everyone been clamoring for them?

Even though I half-jest, the Executioner isn't too bad. The other three are just not good.

All I see are the dozens of spots for Finecrap errors, holes, missing detail, etc. and so on.

I like the Executioner. He also fills the role of captain w/ jump pack, which is something lacking from the vanilla SM range. Relics is not bad, but looks like an up-jumped sarge, not a captain.

The other two are a little heavy on the parchment and speakers for my taste. Could be worse.

What's left, the captains of the first and 10th?

Think the master of marches would do fine using speakers to talk to Imperial citizens. Maybe not all of them have vox-coms....

Those marines are aweful. The executioner is the only half decent one.

What is with the horrible posing going on these days. Extremely static and why is that guy holding his cape up like that?

You probably mean jump pack intake, on the Executioner. However, there's two models who have speakers mounted on top of their regular backpacks..

I like the Marches model - nothing else to do than to read a long list out loud during a battle. I'm not so sure about the whole concept of making models "special" just by adding a bunch of stuff on their shoulders either..

Wow they really messed these up, there's nowhere near enough ugly detail clutter on these things. WTH GW, I thought we were aiming for 98% festooned these days? Look at all the flat spaces you left on these guys. Slightly better than the DA releases a few months back but still not enough pointless ugly crap slapped all over :(

I actually like these at first glance. They're utterly not needed, true, but I think the sculptors have done well. I liked the first four Masters of the Chapter, too.

Shame they could not have given us Asdrubael Vect, Bastogne, Ku'Gath and, say, Zogwort, of course.

The supply does not get to make the demands.

The models don’t look bad, but they’re a bit uninspired. For those that get worked up over the vox casters being impractical, just think of them as a ceremonial sign of rank, for example the same way you might see modern military high ranking officers with swords. Nobody actually thinks an Admiral or whatever is going to run around stabbing people these days, it’s just part of the uniform.

Having said that, if I was using the rules I think Forgeworld do some good Horus Heresy models which would proxy nicely for some of these chapter masters.

For those worried about helmets, I hope these will be the same as the old Masters and come with separate heads.

Agreed. Could be much worse.
