I did see a model for Fortress of Arrogance just before the website crashed. I think it was $156.00 USD. I clicked on it to see what the extra parts were in the kit, but the site had crashed by then.

Did you really just say that?

Also, you have no way to determine if the traffic crushing their site is from pre-orders or window shoppers checking things out. I'm betting more lookers than buyers.

I have no doubt they will sell out of their "limited" stuff. Even more so, as they drive the entire world to the one place you can get it.

Is it still considered "limited" if you create your own shortage of stock?

It was said tongue in cheek. Although I start to think more and more that aomeone at GW is obsessed with price an how it changes supply and demand.

I was beginning to wonder there.....

Don't get me wrong, I would buy every single thing they have to offer SM/CSM/Eldar for this release, every book, game accessory, and piece of terrain..... but not at that cost.

The uh... cost to enjoyment or return value on money invested has waved "bye bye" long ago for me on most GW items.

That's the thing. I own a bunch of stuff already. I'll only play Apoc once or twice a year. Meaning I'd be down to buy some crazy stuff but not at those prices. I only need so many sentinels, leman russes, basic space marines, and so on.

They even took the transports out of the company box set. Probably didn't want the cost to clear 1k for it.....

I think this release is the biggest joke GW has ever pulled. Especially the "The Siege of the Angel's Redoubt" bundle. Who is going to buy that?

I considered for a second to get a dice cube or two. I figured they'd have a nice resell value once time has passed. But then I thought "eh".

I shudder to think on what stupid OP rules they're going to put in for standard 40K games.

How long do you think before all TOs ban them for the sake of playability?

Obviously you missed the $1200 Deathwing and the $1000 company that came.out with the last Apocalypse release.

Don't be so short-sighted, 40k existed probably before you.

NM nothing special just a Banblade kit with Commissar Yarrick added to it and the price correction is $159.25 USD

I think its cool that GW are including 40 K rules in the new scenery boxes but utterly daft (& IMO an outright lie) to say that Apocalypse is a 'new' way of fighting 40K - & I've got the old books to prove it!!
Also just checked the FW site & they've yet to replace the old Apoc FAQ / errata

It's limited because they made a limited, finite supply of them, and they are the only place that has them. I don't see what's so hard to understand there.

Also, based on some preliminary numbers I've seen, they are getting PLENTY of buyers, not just viewers.

Not everybody owns a bunch of stuff already. And if you do, GREAT! That means you don't have to buy anything. As to the once or twice a year comment: that will likely change if this format receives continued support. It'll be worth playing more often. Much like Commander/EDH for Magic: the Gathering, it started as a cute side option, and is now a mainstay of the game. Despite being a larger, more expensive format, it's become wildly popular, and people are buying new cards even if they already have a bunch of stuff.

What did you want them to do? Release a pamphlet and no bundles? You'd be in the slim minority there.

So I'm checking out those formations..

Turns out I already own: The Black Rage, Lucifer Armored Task Force, Wings of Sanguinius, Legionnaire Warband, Deathwing Redemption Force, Cloudstrike Squadron, Farseer Council, The Phoenix Court of Khaine, Dreadknight Brethren, Extermination Force, Baneblade, All the SM Formations (except the new Chapter Masters and about 30 Scouts), and a Stormlord even though it's not listed.

So I'm good to go if I ever paint it all and find someone to game with.

Very happy to see that the Stompa hasn't gone up in price, and I may go for a baneblade at the new price just for the ridiculous amount of spare Bitz I'll get if I make it into a skullhamma

Also, it appears that there are no formation bundles on the UK site, is anyone else seeing any?

So I can buy 10 leman russ in a bundle for $495 or I can buy them individually for $49.50. So no saving at all.

Or I can buy them from an online store for 20% off in most cases.

What is the point of a bundle 'deal' then? Are there strange people out there buying these things instead of just ordering them from an indy store, for cheaper?

Think I might buy a bunch of Macadors from FW rather than Baneblades in future.

They're under the Apoc tab not pre-orders or 40k armies

I like how they are selling the 'Fortress of Arrogance' that was a converted Baneblade from last Apoc Ed. and now it's just a more expensive box with a $20 comissar yarrick figure.

Oh and confirms that discounted bundles are 100% DEAD. No more Christmas megaforces :(

I have to laugh at the video of the collectors edition where Jes Bickham is talking about the "exclusive" battle ruleset in the collector's edition and has to stop to say "It is exclusive....currently" and "This will be the only place you can get this....for quite a while" over and over.

It has two advantages:

1) If you're a non-gamer parent/spouse/etc you probably don't know about online discounters or want to order the models individually and risk getting the wrong thing. This probably makes more sense when we aren't talking about a $500-1000 bundle, but I can see them getting enough sales from less-informed customers to justify spending a few minutes setting it up.

2) Time is money. Depending on your average hourly wage and whether you'd order direct from GW or spend even more time ordering from a discount seller you might even save a whole dollar by not having to click "add to cart" on all those different items.

There is no such thing as a hobby without politics. "Leave politics at the door" is itself a political statement, an endorsement of the status quo and an attempt to silence dissenting voices.

Yes. why not. Depending on price of course. But I think, ability to kill that overpowwered, underpricced Helldrake is act of restoring balance to game, not breaking it ;-)
