Go outside and draw a 10' diameter circle. That is your 55mm base in scale. A bit much. Better to tell the sculptors to keep things in scale and not pose models in ways that will invite groin injuries.

On the plus side, the forum seems to be recognizing my gallery votes again. So I got that going for me

So got a response back from Litko and they say they will put 55mm in to production, but in the meantime you can custom order them (at the same price as production)

I half agree with chromedog, I'm not changing hard work that I've already done because someone somewhere decided to backpedal on things.

But I'm also completely fine with going to any ITS games with my 'deal with it' face on. They can either DQ me or let me play. If people are going to be douchnozzles about base sizes, they aren't people I want to play with anyway.

First and foremost for me, it is a game to play with friends and have fun with. So I shall indeed keep on truckin'.

Just grab some of these http://www.customeeple.com/product/infinity-40mm-to-55mm-extension-2-units/ just incase you run into some "douchnozzles"

I don't expect it will be much of an issue, but hey if you carry around one extension then if it ever becomes in issue you are safe. I am going to buy one to carry even though I don't need it so I can cover an opponent who may not have known to change bases/buy the extension.

Made my little base coasters yesterday, so no worries from me. I actually like the way they look with the kameels.

Good to see Litko moving quickly on this. That is how to run a business in this day and age.

By the time the larger bases are 'mandatory' we will have the third edition or the next sourcebook in our hands anyway. So who knows what other changes that'll bring...

Those are neat, and are definitely priced well. If someone started stocking them? Yeah I might pick them up. But really, my Remotes are based on the bases that they gave me when I bought the models, we shouldn't be having this conversation. People paint and glue and pose and CEMENT these things. It isn't like playing with Lego.

I'll keep my hipster bases with the ugly extensions that I hated in the first place but made work. Some of those things I have drilled through sideways to make sure the models are solid!

Mind you, I'm the guy who refuses to base his Maghariba Guard because if I did that he wouldn't be able to fit on the freaking board anywhere. Haven't heard any complaints yet, most people are like, "Oh man! I've never seen one of those painted up in a game!"

And then I'm like, "That's cause they suck!" And it promptly explodes at the start of gameplay.

I'm sure they'd bitch more if I won more.

I won't stop playing infinity.
I'll just stop playing tourneys.

Big difference.

I just don't like base huggers.

I'm OVER 50 (and so far over everyone's BS, too).
Old enough to know better, young enough to not give a ****.

That is not dead which can eternal lie ...

I have the mental image of an englarged GW 40mm base latched onto someone's face with a prehensile tail now.

Anyways bought some clear bases and I with thinking it would be cool to print up each units insignia and glue them to the bottom of their respective models base. Thoughts?

I think it sounds fun. I'd make sure to use a really high quality paper, maybe something glossy, and making sure you do something with the bottom of the base to toughen it up. Sliding and moving around on gritty terrain boards will put some serious wear and tear on paper.

I like it though, cool idea.

If I hadn't purchased 3mm thick bases already I would say doing 1.5mm with the insignia glued between two of them would work real well, perhaps the next batch.

I could use thick weight gloss paper and use some adhesive acetate film on the bottom to protect.

I'm considering rebasing all my 'needs a new base' models on 60mm bases because:

a) I have resin 60mm sitting around
b) I really don't think anyone will notice...

Yeah I don't think it would be easy to notice an extra 2.5mm on each end really and only the most WAAC of WAAC players would even give you grief over it I am sure.

Pretty sure you can always go bigger in base (and thus be easier to hit). Its more difficult to justify using a smaller base.

Not in the new ruleset that is coming out.

Finally! My Maghariba Guard 80mm blank base arrived from dragon forge.

I could have made one out of mini CD's, but not having the bevelled edge like every other base in my army would have driven me bonkers.

It's... It's kind of a big base. I can see what people mean by it limiting the movement of the TAG in a game. But we're always playing with our scatter terrain amount anyway, so hopefully I can find a way to make it work.

I am going to still stalwartly refuse to base the Mag.

And yet it is still the most stable TAG I own! Muwahahaha!

Bear in mind that Maggie can pass over terrain/obstacles that are half its height or less w/out penalty, and that there are no rules about base size limiting where it can go, just common sense practical stuff about placement-- ie where the model (but I would say not the base) cannot physically fit into or through the area. Those rules are unit type specific, not base specific. http://infinitythegame.wikispot.org/MOV_Difficulty I suspect this will be cleared up in N3.

And with a MOV 6-4 and PH17, Maggie climbs quite well. Having used a Tikbalang w/Climbing +, I can say that a climbing TAG is fun to play.

Like the MAS counters? pretty cool idea. I know somebody who did something similar. http://certs-tabletop.blogspot.com/2014/01/printer-friendly-basing.html He's the TO for this years NOVA Infinity tournaments.

I didn't even consider this. I have a nice Sarissa Warehouse we like to use. Nice and open on top for the Maghariba to climb up and get some firing positions.

Just be prepared to catch a 'look' the first time you do it. For some reason people think TAGs don't climb-- maybe because of the no prone rule. Anyway the Wiki will be your friend here. The FAQ is quite explicit http://infinitythegame.wikispot.org/Climbing

And the heavy flamethrower v those nasty TO snipers in their nests... Ah yes

Odd that the rules singles out vehicles, which do not exist in the game. I'd have immediately connected that to TAGs, which are the most vehicle like unit in the game.

But if they've ruled it that way, I'll happily have my gigantic spiderbot climb up a warehouse to rain fiery death down the other side.

And for fun, have a sniper hitch a ride on those braces.

When you go and think you had an original idea and then you find out... nope So yeah pretty much what he did just on the bottom of a clear base versus glued to the top of a base.

Yep, two braces! And why bother bringing along the Najjarun when you can just bring along the little Nasmat instead! It's like a rolling toolbox! (walking toolbox.)

Though my favorite thing is Overrunning people with the Mag. I make choo-choo noises and everything. Followed by firing the HGL into the air like I just don't care.

But it would be a way to help getting a Sniper (that doesn't have Climbing Plus) up to a good spot to help out. Which pretty much means the Dajanbazan. I don't tend to use snipers that aren't the Lasiq myself... she's just toodamngood.

Though the Mag is also a speedy way to deliver people to an objective, I just wish you could deploy with people already on the braces, rather than wasting two orders getting it all set up.

Or maybe park it on top of a garage with two Naffatun on the back that go prone after getting off. Nobody is gonna be comin' up there.

I use a Hawwa sniper, so once she's combat camo'd someone, redeploying her on the back of the Maghariba could be helpful.

The Al'Hawwa are definitely some of my favorite models.

I'm curious what the silhouette is goign to be for prone models now. I think a lot of us are going to be doing our own little custom bases and stuff for all of that. So it'll be interesting to see what we come up with, then what all the fancy schmancy laser-cutter people come up with.

Well, you can't put remotes into braces. http://infinitythegame.wikispot.org/FAQ#head-2d33f21cd7f5cb8a742d411f70fa16267096301b it is somewhere on the page. I thought of the Nasmat too, a sort of R2-D2 thing going on, but sadly no exception for the helper-bots :(

For prone, it should just be a base, no?

See, that's one of those things that seems to make sense. Except with Nasmats. Like I wouldn't expect to have one of my Total Reaction remotes or my Kameel's to be hanging off the back. Since they're on 40mm bases and are big... and don't have hands.

But the Nasmats are human sized (a little smaller actually) and have the kind of ability to be battlefield doctors and mechanics. I can't see why they can't hop on the back and hitch a ride.

House rule thing for us. But I don't pull that stuff in tourney settings. Not that I expect to win bringing a Mag to the tourney. (Haha, like I EVER expect to win.)

So here is my test piece for my bases. Finally found a glue I could use, but it sets real slow and had a few issues which I should be able to correct when I start making some more.

I am also thinking of ordering some 15mm bases to make myself some tokens using this method.

It'll definitely be useful for tokens. But I think the test base looks good! How long does the glue take to set?

Quite awhile actually, I am using E6000 since it won't fog the base or the photopaper and has the consistency of a strong hotglue so I can can easily clean it up. The bonus to the long set though is I can work out any air bubbles I get stuck with.
