Pretty sure that set's all resin.

Nah, Wayward Eight are plastic. Have some of them.

Maybe you saw the starter sets Bob? Those tend to run around 45-60, depending on how nice the sellers are.

Those are the 10 hired hands (5 ranged, 5 close, same as the hired hand box) plus a resin leader, a resin sub- leader, and a hard plastic heavy weapon specialist.

Poorly lit photos of my ever- growing collection of completely unrelated models!

Brilliant game, excellent models. Run by an idiot and practically zero playerbase.
Wayland games taking over, just more of the same. Shame, if real effort was put in this game it could have been great. Now its just another failed game

Yes, the sets of HIPS plastic "Hired Hands" (10 unique models) are $35.99 retail price on the WWX web store, though I have seen eBay sellers trying to charge much more (and to be fair, I think at one point the MSRP for those sets was higher). There is also the plastic "Wayward Eight" boxed set (the Firefly homage set) which retails for $69.99, I am guessing these are more expensive because of a presumed wider audience.

I will admit I only checked out the boxes once, looked at their prices, and went, "Pfffft, no." So, I could have missed out on a lot of details.

Automatically Appended Next Post:
Highlord, I believe I saw them at Brookhurst, where the discount is that they let you smell the boxes for free. At least the first time.

I missed the WWX kickstarters and also dodged retail because it seemed like a pricey proposition. I'm interested in seeing what Wayland do with the game as I love cowboys, particularly after Westworld started.

Insert obligatory joke about Wayland game stock levels however.

OH forgot about the Wayward 8 box. They are individual sprues, so probably cost more to produce, and you're only buying one of them, whereas I guess they anticipated people buying multiple boxes of hired hands to spread out the cost.

I'm guessing we won't see the magnificent seven parody squad or the four horsemen anytime soon then. It will be interesting to see what happens during the transition. I see items can still be purchased from wwx's website. It would be nice if wayland continued use of the same website instead of their webstore.

Thanks for all the comments everyone, even for the erm more recent ones. We are just looking around to make sure we capture as many questions as possible to put in the FAQ and then will publish our announcement.

Maybe we can get the annoying proprietary base sizes reconsidered in the change. There's no particularly good reason not to use 30/50/60mm bases.

I don't mind the bases at all, neither the size nor style. Why do you find them annoying? Wanting to use base inserts or alternative scenic bases from other manufacturers?

First of all, let's remember that when Wild West Exodus first launched on Kickstarter... no one knew that it was Romeo Filip of Battle Foam infamy. That was revealed during the kickstarter, which actually created a big stink because it caused some backers to leave. So there is precedent for a stunt like this to be pulled.

<--- Not a Romeo apologist, but the underlined is not accurate.

I was a listener of 40k Radio Podcast back before Romeo went all emo anti-GW whiner.

He talked about the WWE project long before the kickstarter was announced. Perhaps not everyone in the world knew, but it wasn't really a secret. There were links on the Battle Foam website to the WWE Kickstarter, announcements on 40k Radio, and discussions on the Free Bootaz forums (40k Radio's forum).

Precisely. It also limits using the models in other games. There's not a good reason to make them different, except to lock you into using theirs.

Well, hopefully any change related to the base sizes makes an allowance for using the current bases as well. I don't particularly fancy having to re-base 300+ miniatures. :-)

Hi Pugnacious,

Being polite. You are incorrect WWX is now owned wholly by Wayland Games. There are no other owners or interested parties and the ownership of Wayland is not changing.

Not sure how it can be clearer.

So you, Rich, have assumed control of all Wild West Exodus-controlled outlets?

The Facebook page? The Facebook groups? The website? The forums?

If it's just you, and Romeo is truly out of the picture, I'll gladly support your game.

Me and the team involved are in control of almost assets now, for some the transfer will take a few days.

However Romeo is the dynamo that created this game, setting and miniatures. No matter your personal opinion of him, that deserves respect. I would rather personalities were not the subject of WWX news threads though.

It's understandable from a business perspective why you don't want your newly-acquired IP to be associated with someone like Romeo, but it's important to understand that much of the drama surrounding the game was caused by Romeo (RomeoRage™ episodes, astroturfing, hiding ownership, lawsuit, abusing critics, abusing competitors, etc). You knew this going in to the acquisiton, and simply stating your preference that the brand not be associated with the creator is a bit disingenuous.

I'd rather talk about all the cool stuff we intend to do rather than the past.

I can understand folks having concerns and doubts (many of them are likely warranted...I've had many concerns myself with the game's direction this past year or so). But wouldn't it be best to wait and see what happens? I am guessing it will be obvious within the next 6-12 months if this is truly a new era for the game or if there are any personalities involved that you would rather avoid. Otherwise, you are just stressing yourself and what's the point in that?. Have fun with whatever games you fancy and if WWX still interests you, just keep an eye open to see what happens with it.

I say just give Wayland/War Cradle a chance. Waiting and watching doesn't cost any money.

Rich, if you are the one who I taking over, do you know how to get ahold of the fire bringer barricade, iron horse barricade, charging station, and one or two sets of enlightened dice?

I looked on wayland's site and nobleknight, they were not being sold. I found them on the wwx site, but the add to cart buttons are missing under every item in the store.

Those are the last things I'm missing to have one of every thing made. You definitely still have a customer here (and my gaming community). We love wwx and have spent thousands on the game. Awesome setting, great storyline, amazing minis, fast and great gameplay... we are fans for life

I was also wondering if there were plans to be able to order physical cards again (I believe it was about $.50 a card before). Physical cards were great... print and play, not so much. The cards were collectable, helped with buiding lists, etc. Big quality difference when printed on one's personal printer as well.

So, how much will the new plastic aliens from the last campaign cost? And where can I buy them with free shipping to the US?

If I can find them, I should have a sprue of the aliens somewhere in my garage Bob.

Let me double check as I might have hawked them on eBay, but I'm pretty sure I have some of the plastic greys still.

There was/is a second set of buildings for WWX made by MAS. The designs have been finished for over a year now, and apparently were sold to Romeo.

Will we finally see those? The existing range of WWX terrain is nice, but more variety would help.
