Its ok, every Templar that didn't volunteer to stay and die fighting will be strapped to a Dreadknight sized Penitent Engine.

And I would personally *really* prefer GW not unravelling all the mysteries of the 40k lore to boost sales. The MIDDLE of the 13th Black Crusade is as far as I'd go, personally, beause we had that already under people I trust more than the current design studio and if that's as far as they're willing to push it, okay. Returning primarchs, explaining away every mystery of the Nids origin, the tomb king Necrons, no, thank you.

Pictures please?

Pics of what in particular would be interesting? What is okay to show on Dakka? I can have my brother take decent pictures in the afternoon, my own phone is a bit long in the tooth, unless somewhat blurry is okay.

PPS: Spoiler from the sales blurb of Fall of Cadia, which is described as the first in "a new series":
Spoiler:
Cadia falls DURING this book
. Thanks, GW.

Edit (keep the typos, I'm in a hurry): Jes Bickham is the dude responsible for "the Gathering Storm project". At the end of the article he says "the End Times (well, die Endzeit) have only just begun". Primarchs and C'tan minis are a go, I guess. Steve Buddle did Cawl and the Inquisitor and Brian Nelson did Celestine.

PS: Chickout, I don't WANT solved mysteries from current GW, though, just like I didn't want exhaustive stories about the Horus Heresy and what the Warmaster had for breakfast ehen he decided to go evil. Or Sanguinius demons and GKs bathing in blood.

Thanks - any and all pics appreciated Does Celestine have a cool role and what happens to her if there is any info

I believe they still have the oldest models GW makes (Phoenix Lords, a number of the Warlocks, the Avatar). They still have, I believe, the second oldest plastic kit in the range, the Vyper (that thing came out when I was still in high school - and prior to that they had the old plastic Jetbike), so they're due to have a few things redone.

I'd love a Phoenix Lords boxed set (rather than loads of overpriced clampacks) where Jes takes a second go at each of his iconic models.

I believe they're narrowly beaten to the title by by Ragnar and PA Njal, who were both released in 1992 at the very tail end of Rogue Trader. Jes' original 1989 Warlocks lasted a very long time, but were dropped when Fine**** was launched; the oldest of the Warlocks still on sale were released, like the Avatar and Phoenix Lords, with Codex: Eldar in 1994.

They're still bloody old, mind you, and unlike the Space Wolves aren't something for which a modern replacement can easily be kitbashed.

Im not expecting anything new for the Templars apart from fluff but even just a Crusade formation would be enough.

Quote from the batrep intro: "With the BT and Cadians I could build one of the new formations from Fall of Cadia - the Wrathful Crusade".

I'd say you're good

The batrep is terrible, though. It's a shame, because it is a 5k BT/Sisters/Guard/surprising ally vs Black Legion fight with what seen to be studio armies of an unusually high painting standard. The few shots that are well done really pop and make me want to buy all models depicted, as a batrep should. But: most pics are small and dark, the armies and tactics questionable and for some reason *cough[the Imperium players' stated goal is to show off how awesome the new triumvirate is (buy all three, get some formation in the box). Abaddon is in the game as well, guess what happens.

Caw has a melter weapon it seems (one of his guns is a Solar Atomiser, the other an arc...something, maybe scourge? [Bogengeißel]) and he has a rule Canticles of the Arch Magos to boost CM units and vehicles and uses a War chant of Strenght to give a 12" reach?/bubble? -it doesn't say- 5++ to vehicles. Is that new? Greyfax is a lvl 2 psyker, they call her a telepath, but I'm not sure if that means her disciplines or if that's just current GW lingo for a psyker, I stopped reading GW material in German once they started their half-translated books. Nothing on Celestine's rules outside of allowing armour saves for Termis, it seems, but again the write-up is really imprecise.

Oh, and Fall of Cadia has a handy Empyrean Storm D66 chart that you roll on EVERY TURN to get effects like "all models regenerate a wound", " "all models move +1/+3 if psyker or demon ", "roll a D6 for every psyker, thy lose a random psy power on a 6", "one random psyker doubles his sAr, T and A", "double the range of all powers" etc.. You all love charts and rolling, right?

The good news is that my bro comes soon and outside of exchabging presents I can pester him into taking a few pics, I bet.

Looking for a Skaven Doomwheel banner to repair my Nurgle knights.

Cool, thanks for the info!

And at the first named character for Cult Mechanicus having a special power that gives vehicles an invuln save....they have no vehicles! LOL

Even if you add in Skitarii and pretend it's one army, they still have very few vehicles(and Onagers already have an invuln save).

I'm hoping something was lost in translation there.

I'm actually fine with them revealing secrets - as long as it's over time. If we get 10 years of Black Crusade with each year having a big reveal/paradigm shift like Magnus and the fall of Fenris were for this year, that would be pretty ok in my book. The story would move forward, but at a reasonable pace.

What I don't want is them to reveal 5 primarchs and destroy every important planet and reveal all the Xenos secrets by the end of 2018. Then it just feels cheap.

Agreed, Bulldoging. Unless he somehow gives everything around him in a bubble that save, and even still I'm not very impressed. 5++ is okay, but not quite what I was expecting for entirely new canticles.

Blood Angels, Custodes, Tzeentch, Alpha Legion, Astra Militarum, Deathwatch, Thousand Sons, Imperial Knights, Tau, Genestealer Cult.

I have a problem.

Being contrary for the sake of being contrary doesn't make you unique, it makes you annoying.

I know it was a joke but the current PE has both a male and female driver option.

Sounds like really rough translations

I suspected he would get 1-2 unique canticles himself plus the standard ones, but that translation makes no sense

More likely than not it says "Adeptus Mechanicus Units and Vehicles".

Remember that the Skitarii book has a way for you to get a bit of vehicles, and the Skitarii and Cult Mechanicus comprise the "Adeptus Mechanicus" faction.

Abbadon realises that as a direct result of GW advancing the story line his topknot is now out of fashion and tears it from his head in a fit of rage?

Unless, ofcourse is the Custodian Tribune Ra from "Master of Mankind". Who was lost in the webway and has an important link to Drach'nyen. ...Okay that could be even cooler than a Primach being in captivity. As I'd imagine that if Ra survived he have some feelings about how events went down.

Or, they could do something sensible and continue to provide people who want that sort of thing ongoing story content using the 10,000 years of history they have laying around barely-defined. Hell, just covering the known "big deal" events in detail similar to the Heresy project(Unification, Scouring, Beast Arises, Vandire Apostasy, Nova Terra Interregnum, Moirae Schism, Sabbat Crusade, Macharian Crusade, the various Armageddons, 1st Tyrannic War and probably a few more I'm forgetting) could keep them going for decades, while leaving "modern" 40K intact for those who prefer to tell their own tales with their own characters. Hell they could even do something completely mental like use a narratively-static "main" setting as an opportunity to consolidate and refine the core ruleset, since they'd no longer be under constant pressure to keep adding to and expanding those rules to accommodate the latest newshiny giant plastic kit.

Frankly I don't care if they bring back 5 primarchs, destroy everything, and reveal all the secrets in five years or five minutes, the end result is the same and it's not for me.

The "boiling frog" strategy will only work if the cycle of reveals is well done and the end result is still interesting: I doubt the current crop at the studio can pull off the reveals without descending into unintentional self-parody, and a 40K universe that lacks most of the things that presently make it intriguing doesn't sound like an interesting end result.

I need to acquire plastic Skavenslaves, can you help?
