What was your favourite scene/passage/chapter in all the Sci-fi you've read/watched?
Personally, I think it was from a book I read a while ago called The Line of Polity, in a part where Skellor is taking over the ECS Dreadnought Occam Razor and the dying captain uses his last breath to wake up the entire ship's golem complement (golems are more powerful than astartes). Just the way it played out in my mind was awesome.
EDIT: just re-read it, the golems were coming online anyways under Skellor's control, and he killed half of them by overloading them

Cato Sicarius, after force feeding Captain Ventris a copy of the Codex Astartes for having the audacity to play Deathwatch, chokes to death on his own D-baggery after finding Calgar assembling his new Eldar army.

You didn't see the phantom menace?
It's obviously traumatic amnesia.
Making Darth Vader a little blonde childe WAS a horrible mistake but Darth Maul is the most awesome star wars character barring chewy, so that part should be remembered as a kernel of goodness in an otherwise brain-cell annihilating movie.
In comics: Joe Pineapples emerging from his "surgery" by Deadlock dressed up in lacy lingerie to face the Imperial Rottweilers
In Manga: Neo-Tokyo being destroyed in Akira
In books: The moment in The Man In The High Castle when they realise they are living in fake world
In movies: I've seen things you people wouldn't believe... (And if you don't know who says that line, and in what film, you have no business reading a sci-fi thread. Also, if you disagree. you have no business posting in a sci-fi thread.)
On TV: In Battlestar Galactica, there are lots of possibilities, but probably when they find "Earth" and it is a barren wasteland. Either that, or when Baltar is forced to sign the death warrants on New Caprica.
Automatically Appended Next Post: Wait, I just changed my mind about comics.
"Because I hate you"
Anyone get that reference?

Though guards may sleep and ships may lay at anchor, our foes know full well that big guns never tire.
In books, when prelude to foundation ties into the robot novels.
for TV, the episode 5 characters in search of an exit from the twilight zone. It show cased the central Sci-Fi theme of the late 1800's through the 1960's, what it means to be human.
When Jean-Luc Picard played the flute at the end of the best ever Star Trek episode.
Yes! "The Inner Light". One of the best tv show episodes, ever.
Other favorite episode... There are FOUR lights! (Why can I not remember the episode name... I know, it is kinda a meme, but the shows were really well done...)
Both of those give me goosebumbs at the thought.
Books: when the nature of Ender's game is revealed.
"When your only tools are duct tape and a shovel, all of life's problems start to look the same!" - kronk
"Evil will always triumph because good is dumb." - Darth Helmet
"History...is, indeed, little more than the register of the crimes, follies, and misfortune of mankind" - Edward Gibbon, The Decline and Fall of the Roman Empire
The last few seconds of Event Horizon, when the doors close by themselves after the med team leaves...
What can i say... i like the bad guys to win
Also the last few seconds of the original Invasion of the Bodysnatchers, when the hero gets a nasty shock.
Original Tron : 'Now thats a seriously big door...'
Predator 2 - the Jamaican voodoo posse leader vs the Predator. Coolness, even if it was a forgone conclusion
The Space battle between the Reavers and the fleet in Serenity, and the outcome of River vs Reavers on the surface..
And many many others....
Bookwise the entirety of Path of the Fury/In Fury Born (the second is an expanded version of the first, with more backstory), especially then last chapter or so.
Games : AVP 2, playing as Marine, making your escape in the last mission, standing on the end of a loading dock waiting for your ride, empting every scrap of ammuntion you have into the oncoming tide, barely making a dent.. VERY Nid moment that...
Automatically Appended Next Post: Also Pogo Yoda in the second prequel movie..

Haha thank you this is the best post I've seen all day
As to the topic: Event Horizon. Hard to narrow it down to a scene because it has so many I love, but Weir's "reveal" is pretty amazing. "what happened to your eyes..."
