Gonna make a stronk start on the Cerberus tonight, looking to get its tracks and main gun done in metallics at the very least, with a view to finishing it tomorrow.

Weekend I want to get at least one Praetor painted, as I’ve got my first HHv2.0 game a week on Saturday. Which is nice.

Filed, glued and magnetically based my MTO Stone Trolls ready for painting.

Checked my ancient painting schemes notebook (started in 1999) and according to that, the first 3 I painted used Midnight Blue/Storm Blue (black hex top pots?) as base colours. This was replaced with Necron Abyss (white top Foundation paint) for the 3 I bought later.

Now all of those colours are probably replaced, discontinued or renamed many times by GW.
I can't even find a good replacement on the old; https://www.dakkadakka.com/wiki/en/paint_range_compatibility_chart

Any suggestions by those of you old enought to remember those paints I named and familiar with the new ranges?

Need to match my ancient...

Playing the most stress free game of 40k I have in a long time.

2v1 game. 2k DA vs 2k Deathguard.

For my 1/2 of the Deathguard I brought 50 Plague Marines & 2 Icon bearers.
My job is simple: score objective points. Maybe opportunity kills.
My partner? He's doing all the fighting/killing.
So far we're winning 50something to 12.
I've lost 7 models atm

Working on another 65 of these fools.

Finishing painting my Legion Ceberus. Taking a half day from work on account my Brain Is Melted, so looking forward to extended mind-breather hobby time.

Yesterday, I finished applying wash to the red parts of my landing pad last night. I would've liked to paint the yellow, but delayed it until today when the red wash had dried.

I finished painting the yellow and hazard stripes today. I then began applying the dark grey wash to the landing pad. I frigged up, though, as when wiping the excess off with toilet paper, it began to break down and left lumps. Is there anything better I can use if anyone knows?

Right now, Kantor Blue might be a good match for those. I still got a Necron Abyss pot (nearly untouched) and compared both on my pallet, and while they are definitely not the same shade of blue (Necron is darker), I think it would work good enough here, especially if you go over a black undercoat. I use Kantor a lot over black primer for my Nids and that create a dark base that might match Necron Abyss pretty decently.

Not modifying the originals, and a surprising lack of rubber bands in my house means I can only glue and secure one piece at a time. Finished half of this today (working around a newborn's schedule). See more on my Project Blog.

Kit bashed myself a 30k Mortiant (sp?) SM character with jump pack & two disintegrator pistols.
This ones made from the legs/chest/head/arms/shoulder pads of a 30k SM & the back/jumppack/plasma guns & cables of a 40k Inceptor.

Other than one of the cables turning out to be off center (it'll get fixed) I'm quite pleased with the result.

Painted my two Heresy Praetors, completing my first cabinet, and I’ve built the first of three boxes of Legion Fast Attack for Legions Imperialis.

A very nice kit to build, and nowhere near as fiddly as the Legion Support set.

Also built a squadron of four Sicaran, this time with Heavy Bolter Sponsons.

Tomorrow I’ll blitz the two remaining boxes of Legion Fast Attack, and hopefully get it all base coated in Mechanicus Standard Grey.

Or I’ll do a squadron of 28mm Jetbikes.

Was going to finish building the Warhammer Fortress that I've been holding onto forever, then realized that I need to save one of the walls to break apart as a template to build more walls, so I finished what I could, naturally got distracted, and built a small courtyard building to go inside the fortress.

Building a 2nd HH Rhino.

Mostly for use with my 40k Deathguard as I need the MG armed Plague Marines to actually get into range/to the objectives in a timely manner. Plodding 5" on foot did not cut it the other day.

Starting the basecoating of a few more US soldiers for bolt action, commander and his aid, bazooka team, and sniper team.

Thanks for that. I don't have a Kantor blue to check, but I went through a ton of my other paints trying to find a match to the old Necron Abyss. Closest match I found was one from Two Thin Coats called Abyss Blue. I'll see how it goes over black. Then I'll get them newold Stone Trolls done. :-)

I'm using the magic of Contrast paints to get some Scouts painted.

Just started 10 Tzaangor with pistol/chainsword here. I don't remember how I did my first 20 (regular double hand weapon), like the order I did thing on them, but those will be a slow-ish burn. No real quick way around all the trim, armor, gold deco and the skin. Let's just say I won't be batch painting them that much because it's a lot of work everytime!

Getting some metallics on these lads.

I've been quite productive today as we got rained in by crappy weather. Did the hazard stripes on a defensive wall and a pill box which I finished. So, that's almost all the landing pad and the defensive buildings with it, which is cool.

Also, did a bit more work on my Attelus and Adelana diorama from Secret War, including finally getting the balls to glue the dying/dead not-Death Korps of Krieg minis on. I will go over the details more in my thread dedicated to the project.

Was stuck indoors most of the weekend and I decided to actually focus on a project. Making good progress too! Will show it off when I actually get it done but I took a side trek and decided to paint a model for my Gnoll Warband/D&D.





One Manticore! Its one of the Nolzur minis I hacked off the pre-sculpted base and made a new one on a 60mm. Larger than the standard 50mm but I plan on using this guy more for Skirmish games and a kind of special character for D&D. He came out fine although I am a bit iffy on the skin, I feel like I could have done better. Overall though I am happy with him.

Attelus vs Chaos Beastmen.

Think I’m gonna make a start on speed painting my Legion Fast Attack stuff. Hopefully at least the two dozen Land Speeders.

Had the miniature gaming club with the kids today. It went well despite some drama at the start over the placement of a turret and who got to play who's faction, but once that was done, we had fun. It was two kids vs me in a game of Grimdark Future: Firefight, the scenario being "Whoever has the most points on the field at the end of the game wins". The kids insist on playing such a complex scenario as they don't like playing objectives. I played as two teams of 300pts each, the kids a 300pt team each. I played as Not-Gaunt's Ghosts, fighting alongside not-Death Korps of Krieg led by a not-Custodian Bladesman. We didn't finish, so we will finish next week. I've been winning so far, killing several of their minis and their turret while not losing any of my guys yet; a couple have been stunned so far, including poor Not-Larkin.

When I got home, and after finally finishing my damned Landing Pad, I began batch painting my three remaining Gaunt's Ghosts proxies.

Pretty much finished my Gaunt's Ghosts soldier proxies today. I would've begun basing them, but I was too tired.

I also did a bit more work on my Attelus and Adelana vs. Cultists diorama. I applied a couple more bits of diorama tile paper, which I will post more photos of in my blog, but will do that tomorrow as, again, I'm too tired.

Hopefully playing some Gaslands this evening.
