Subject: Shadows over Normandie - Kickstarter @ £158K - next stretch @ £160K (Nazis!)
I didn't see this here, so excuse the duplication if it is buried deep somewhere.
A few weeks after D-Day, a US Ranger Company, lost in Normandie, has to confront the terrifying power of the Nazis cult of the Black Sun. allied with an ancient Deep Ones tribe, they’re preparing a dark ceremony to summon the great Cthulhu. The Lost Battalion is the first chapter of a great campaign and you have to be a part of it!
The scenarios will tell you this story. They are become increasingly difficult, and are designed as tutorials to teach you the game mechanics. Each brings a new tactical challenge. Objectives lead players to make tactical choices, some will be successful, others… well, they won’t.
Soldiers will fight, while heroes or vilains have specific tasks to fulfill. It’s a bridge between a wargame and an adventure game.
Last year Devil Pig Games had a successful kickstarter for Heroes of Normandie, a WW2 strategy boardgame with loads of expansions funded for different forces. Reviews have been very good and the game seems to be popular. As part of the campaign they unlocked an expansion called Shadows over Normandie that brought in cthulhu mythos heros, villains and monsters via an Achtung! Cthulhu tie in.
This expansion idea has proved to be very popular, so yesterday they started a campaign to expand the print run to make it into a standalone game, rather than the original expansion. Everyone that bought it during the original campaign will get the upgrades from this campaign, but there are additional tiles, monsters and missions that are exclusive to this campaign. The first level is designed for these people to just get the new bits. The second level gets you the full Shadows Over Normandie experience

Automatically Appended Next Post: The £15k and £20k stretch goals turn the npc Deep Ones chits into their own fully playable force, so with those now unlocked this is looking pretty good.
Today they are due to start adding in more of the expansions from the first kickstarter to help boost the levels a bit and provide more variation for the maps.
I forgot to mention, the Heroes of Normandie rulebook and demo kit are available to download from the Devil Pig website (http://www.devil-pig-games.com/en/downloads/). You do need to be registered in order to download them though

Automatically Appended Next Post: Oh. all change. the Cthulhu pledge has just dropped by £5 due to a lot of comments about the price rise from the first kickstarter. They have also replaced the £80k stretch goal from specially shaped tokens to be another board of units.

Well the first £50k has now been met, which finishes off all the extras for the SoN box set. The next few goals are new punchboards. One no-hellboy (featuring baby and adult tokens), some superheroes, Updates to some of Kelly's Heroes and their gold and a community manager.
We should be getting some more updates tomorrow after their big meeting... in the mean time, here's one of the new building tiles for the occult writer's house
The DevilBoy tokens just got unlocked, so we're now on our way to some of the revised stretch goals which now include cultists and villagers to give your mythos games a bit more kick.
There are also some new extras that can be bought, including a new scenario box for Shadows over Normandie and a new set of generic battlefield tiles to giv eyou some more variation in HoN and SoN games

There are also fan made solo rules available on their forums. I think I read somewhere that they are also working on some official solo rules or scenarios
I saw the previous ones for this game, but didn't give it much thought.
Now add in Cthulu and I've got it book marked...

Subject: Shadows over Normandie - Kickstarter [funded]
Sorry for the delay in updating this. Since the last update we've broken through three more stretch goals, unlocking two sets of villagers and a set of evil, evil cultists. We're now on our way to an updated version of Kelly's Heroes with lots of gold to collect.
A new social stretch goal has also been announced. They want to get the Devil Pig Facebook Likes up to 1500. If they do, then Cthulhu gets unlocked as an extra bonus!
Even if you're on the fence about the kickstarter, please go like their page
This campaign is so far ahead of the last one, which was more 'general' and really offered a lot more, and appealed to a wider audience - or so I thought!
NEVER UNDERESTIMATE THE DRAWING POWER OF...CTHULHU!

Some more stretch goals have been added, laying out goals all the way to $190K. Somehow I doubt we'll get to the last few, but it will be interesting to see how the next few days go. It will be interesting to see if they put in any more add-ons to give it a final push.

After robbing the bank, let the place empty to super heroes! They come from Guardian chronicles, a game published by Red Joker (Kickstarter). You will find one hero for each Army (US, UK and german) with the new type of recruitment tile for hero
You know (if your read updates) what the next two stretch goals are before reaching the Necromancer (the next Stretch Goal after me). His portrait will be inspired by H.P.Lovecraft and will come with Ghouls (I heard some of you screamed "GHOOUUULS!!! GHOUUUUULLLS! WE WANT GHOULS!")

Yeah, I'm really looking forward to the ipad game. Release is scheduled to be December at the moment. It's supposed to come with the core box and D-Day initially, with everything else added, presumably, as in-app buys. Fingers crossed that includes all the A!C bits
We're now into the last 24 hours and with less than £500 to go before we unlock the Books/Monsters punch card, we're looking good for lots of pulpy horror scenarios in the future!
Project Update #26: Shadow is coming ... and the campaign is finished!
Hi everybody !
First of all, a HUGE thank you to all of you. Heroes of Normandie was a successful try, and Shadows over Normandie is an awesome conversion kick (yes, we are rugby fans)!
This was a great way to start the adventure and now we make our vision come true. The Heroes system range is here for a long time and we will create the games we always wanted. We have tons of projects and desires. With our games, we want to make you travel around the world and through time and space. There’s no frontiers (except one famous, but you already know it).
Anyway, thank you again, and as said before, you changed our lives. Now it’s time for us to try to return you this favor, with our passion, our creativity and our heart.
You will receive next week the survey and we will work on the pledge manager. We have a lot to do and we will let Axel managing the next steps. On our side, it’s time to enter an intense production run. We hope our family will still be there after it
Talking about Axel, one thing we’re really proud of, is to have use this campaign to create a job. He deserves it and we need him.
