Well, there was 8 inches of snow here today, so I guess it makes sense hell has finally frozen over.

Kind of weird timing with other companies also making a push for SoB equivalent minis lately.

I prefer to buy from miniature manufacturers that *don't* support the overthrow of democracy.

What's even better is that they'll keep us up to date on the progress of the army:

Yup, plastic Sisters of Battle are on their way. For reals.

We know many of you have been waiting patiently (and impatiently…) for a long time for the Adepta Sororitas, and that for many of you this is more than ‘just’ a new army. So, we’re going to do something we’ve never done before – right up until the release, we’ll be bringing you updates on the Sisters of Battle, sharing images and snippets of info and a whole ton of behind the scenes goodness.

Emperor willing, the Battle Sisters of the Adepta Sororitas will be ready to take the fight to the renegade, the heretic and the unbeliever in 2019.

PLASTIC SISTERS OF BATTLE! I've been waiting for this longer (and sometimes more desperate) than for losing my virginity.

I will stop buying anything else. I need to save the money. I will finish all other hobby projects because I need a clean desk. And I will keep telling my wife, that we will spend A LOT of money on plastic crack, once the sisters hit the stores.

Please correct my english. I won't get any better if you don't.

Okay, well there’s one of the things I didn’t think I’d see happen. I feel kind of sorry for the other companies working on plastic sisters at the moment.

So now the obvious question comes up. Where are the squats?

Dunno. Knowing GW prices and how they like to hike them up by the time they get released it's quite possible plastic sisters costs about same as the metal models now. Leaves market for other companies. World is funny in that there's room for more than 1 company. There's room for space marine equilavents. Why not sisters.

Wow, sisters were my first real army (Back in 2nd ed. when they were first released, before they got actual magic powers and were just really strong willed religious zealots) and now I live to see them return.

There is no way in hell they're going to live up to the hype, though...

Honestly, I'm not impressed or excited. This is not how a new release works, and we all know it. A major new release is supposed to have, you know, actual pics of actual minis. But this is nothing but noise. We're getting plastic Sisters ... in 2019. "Emperor willing," whatever that qualifier means. And not only do we get an "IOU" note instead of actual information (meanwhile, in AoS land, tons of pics of sea elves FFS) but Sisters will also be the guinea pigs for some kind of experimental marketing internet reality show. Oh boy, I can't wait until everyone who hates Adepta Sororitas (you can tell who they are because they "love Sisters" except that everything about them needs to be changed) weighs in every step of the way. GW presents literally everything else to the customers as a fait accompli but Sisters' development is open for general comment and criticism ... forgive me for not feeling honored here. I anticipated a new Sisters release could go terribly wrong (like with some kind of brand new visual direction) but I never expected an anticlimax like this.

Now what will Sisters players bitch about incessantly?

I hope the models look good and they get a decent release. Hopefully with new versions of their tanks.

Very much looking forward to the behind-the-scenes stuff, it's something I've wanted from GW for a long time. Of course the reason they are revealing this so early is because there are currently no less than three third parties doing major launches of not-SoB, but still!

They are saying they put in previews. Doesn't mean they are going to be changing anything based on comments or even read. So what the problem is? GW doing something that about every other company out there does? It works for others but for some reason doesn't for GW?

Kinda funny. You prefer them not showing anything until they get released rather than free previews? Funny.

I mean, is our situation really that different now? Like you just posted "I hope the models look good and there are cool options," yeah this is what Sisters fans and players have been saying for ... well, let's not dwell on how long. And now we can keep saying the same things until 2019, I guess, sort of, maybe, let's hope, Emperor willing. Trust me, the real bitching will begin when these "behind-the-scenes snippets" start trickling in.

You get to see models sooner than 2019. And rules. That's somewhat different to before. Oh and before there wasn't even mention are they coming never mind when.

Yes, it makes me very nervous to see GW announce they can be bothered to finally do something wity my favorite army, which they have mockingly neglected (seriously, there are plastic Sisters of Silence models), because they can be used as a vehicle to experiment with marketing. Experiment with your dumb sea elves and give Sisters a normal release.

So let's see...Exact same models, exact same rules. One way you keep them hidden until you release, one you trible feed sneak peeks ahead...And hiding is better option?

What? You think they are going to sell less well because of sneak peeks? Only danger from that.

I don't see any promises about that. Again, this is smoke without fire.

I already had faith GW would release them; the "garbage bin" gag from last year all but confirmed it. I don't need to know kinda sorta maybe when. The notion that this release will be on one of three hundred sixty five days (Emperor willing!) is not very meaningful, much less exciting.

Sisters fans have a motto: I'll believe it when I see it - and GW hasn't shown me anything yet.

I don’t think this is experimental marketing for future releases. The rational behind not showing previews and design work on other new releases is that it doesn’t give their competitors advance notice of what they’re going to inevitably copy. SoB are a very different prospect because we already know what they look like. Instead the focus switches to convincing customers not to buy SoB inspired minis from those competitors in the meantime.

I can understand being concerned, Manchu, but surely after the last couple of tone-deaf "gags" about plastic Sisters, getting confirmation that they will deliver plastic Sisters (finally) next year is better than taking it on faith?

I mean, I'm not sure what this does for SoB getting a Codex - did GW promise a Codex for every faction within 12 months of 8th ed dropping, or have I mis-remembered that? It would make sense to hold the SoB book back for the model release, but this is GW...
