So I am intentionally leaving OUT factions/races that have already received video games based off them. Space Marines, Tau, Titan Legions, Inquisition, etc. I don't know every video game out there for 40k, but I thought the Orks had a video game, guess not. Now I left "other" as an option if you want to see ANOTHER space marine game, or there was something I left out. Please leave your responses in the thread!

Cheers!

Me: I would LOVE to see a game where you control a house of Knights, and you can raise or lower them according to mission needs, but you only have so many family members as pilots, and each have their own Strengths/weaknesses. I'd also love a game that lets me pilot a Imperator Titan. As an FPS.

TBH I would love for a 40k fighting game. But thats maybe that I have beating the crap out of guilty gear strive.

Gimme a GSC RPG where one has a character/squad superhuman enough to be protagonists but still weak enough that combat is more rogue-like involving ambushes and cover, where attempting a straight-up fight is a recipe for failure. Have the other side of the game be managing the intrigue of undermining and overtaking the social structures of the planet while balancing a buildup of combat assets with keeping said assets hidden from the authorities until the time is right. Building up assets unlocks better gear and/or squadmates but alerting the authorities increases the potency of enemies one must face.

GSC X-com. I could live with that. Start fighting PDF forces, going to infantrymen, tempestus scions and ending with some deathwatch as your final game bosses.

I think that'd be a really good way to get past the usual mobile, RTS, FPS and turn based gameplay genres that Warhammer has been mostly relegated to for a lot of the game licenses that they've given them out to. I think 40k has a big enough roster and variety for a lot of different types of fighters. I could see them doing a Power Stone like brawler game where the setting is one of the fighting arena's of commoragh to explain why there's fighters from several factions trying to kill one another. They could even make a coop version of survival that takes notes from DoW2's last stand mode.

I'm also up for the more conventional fighter game type like Guilty Gear Strive and DB Fighterz, where I could see them drawing big names like Lucius the Eternaland other dueling type characters like Lelith as characters. DLC add ons would be super easy for them as well. I could see them doing a HH spin off, giving us options like Sigismund and Abbadon going head to head like in the books.

Personally, I've always wanted to see a Halo:ODST FPS style type game where you're air dropped in as a Tempestus Scion from a Valkyrie into an active warzone against cultists and after your squad has been wiped out, you're the lone survivor that has to get out from behind enemy lines and you get to explore more on the side of life in an Imperial Hive and how Chaos enslaves/corrupts an Imperial World. You could easily have boss fights with Chaos Ogryn or Chaos Spawn and the final boss could be a CSM or Rogue Psyker.

I think this has also been brought up before, but having a Knights of the Old Republic style RPG game where its based on your character being a Rogue Trader or Inquisitor that add different members to your retinue as you make your way across a campaign would be awesome and a way to explore a less Imperial-centric view when it comes to exposure to different races like Kroot.

In terms of xenos, I'm surprised there hasn't been a game yet that's coped the Shadow of War nemesis system but basically you have your own Ork boy that rises through the ranks of Feral Orks on a backwater Imperial world and you get to choose what oddboy traits they have along the way before you establish yourself as a Warboss of your own warband and you subjugate the different warbosses on your world before launching your first WAAAGH! You could easily have Eldar trying to assassinate you along the way or having Imperials attempt to do their annual Ork cleansing routines only to be outwitted and have their stuff looted for your burgeoning Ork forces. I assume this game would go along the lines of being a 3rd person hack and slash.

Something like that could be a good change of pace actually.

I don't know if anyone here remembers the Tribes games? Given how popular competitive shooters (done well) have been in recent years, and in the past, a 'competitive' style game based around the Commorragh arenas could be superb. I could totally see Kaballites, Wyches, Hellions, Bikers, all facing off in an organised manner.

Given they capture other races to use as entertainment in the arenas, the sky's really the limit in terms of what you can include.
With a talented enough team behind it, you could have the 40K equivalent of Tribes, UT, Quake, TF2 etc.

I'll agree with this, but I think it's important to remember that Scions?

They wouldn't be trying to "get out" from behind enemy lines. They'd be going further in, trying to accomplish additional objectives.

A CIV like game from the point of view of the Adeptus Administratum would be really cool. Having to build a planet up, protect it from raids and monitor heresy, trade and commerce.

Good point. The Scion would probably try and do as much damage as they could before reestablishing connection with a Tempestor Prime or Sector Command through a vox-network. Either way, being forced to scavenge and use discarded Imperial gear and jury rigging to keep his gear in shape while also improvising with enemy weapons. I'd love to see proper hotshot weaponry used in game and how a Scion would have to be more tactical in fighting the variety of Chaos cultists/mutants and enemies that a marine would just bowl over.

Something similar to Assassins Creed, it doesn't need an open world, but the actual Assassination part of the game. Prior to every mission you can choose one of the main Assassin types, which will either make your mission easier or harder depending on which you choose.

Have a main story focusing around assassinating key personnel on a world that's about to rebel. Slowly making your way to the governor. Then either put some spin on it having to then later assassinate a Chaos lord, GSC patriarch, Tau ethereal leading a negotiation, etc.

* * * * *

Something like Dead Space but you play as a Guardsmen who survived after their transport ship lost their gellar field. The daemons infesting the ship are nurgle and you have to find fight through them, try to find a way to save any survivors. Probably find a tech-priest who repairs the gellar and gets the ship out of the warp. Cue end cutscene where your main character is either "hired" or killed by the Inquisition.

* * * * *

Something like Mass Effect but you're a Rogue Trader. Upgrading your own ship, finding xeno allies and weapons, etc.

* * * * *

Something like Battlefield 1 instead of playing as different soldiers across the world on different fronts, you play as Guardsmen on different planets. Have a mission of Tallarn on a desert planet, Catachans on a jungle planet, etc. Mix up the gameplay with some vehicle sections where you get to drive a leman russ, sentinel, etc. Then have a bonus mission where you play as a marine, with much higher health thresholds and more damaging weapons.

Really let the player experience the difference between the Guard and Marines, after hours of playing as the former.

I want a sequel of the Space Marine game, but you play an ork warboss.

7 Ork facts people always get wrong:
Ragnar did not win against Thrakka, but suffered two crushing defeats within a few days of each other.
A lasgun is powerful enough to sever an ork's appendage or head in a single, well aimed shot.
Orks meks have a better understanding of electrics and mechanics than most Tech Priests.
Orks do not think that purple makes them harder to see. They do think that camouflage does however, without knowing why.
Gharkull Blackfang did not even come close to killing the emperor.
Orks can be corrupted by chaos, but few of them have any interest in what chaos offers.
Orks do not have the power of believe.

What I'd really love is a sandboxy, Bethesda-style RPG set in a hive city. The main quest is a long Inquisition-sponsored investigation into Chaos corruption at the highest levels, but there are also other factions you can join (e.g. a criminal gang, the Imperial cult, a labor union, etc.), as well as independent side quests such as bounty quests.
