As someone who watched Denver kick us in the teeth each and every time when we were in the AFC, this is sweet revenge indeed. Chocolate coated with candy sprinkles.
Great win by the Seahawks, ah well always next year.
Its an odd one for the house mind, we've supported each others team all season, so it was certainly mixed feelings tonight. Best team we could have lost to from my point of view. Still painful mind.
Enjoy the win Seahawks fans, the franchise finally got one.

35 years in the making. Like that commercial for Starcraft II, "It's about time."
I live downtown and people are out in the streets, cheering!!
You do know that the Colorado fans will be blazing in their misery.
And so, when the attack of the munchies kicks in, Pappa Johns is going to rake in some bidness. Manning is a fething genius in buying out all the Pappa John's franchies around Denver.
Morathi's Darkest Sin wrote: Well Aura is going to bed happy... the big question now, is this the start of a Dynasty for the Seahawks?
Considering the age of the team, I think there is a definite chance.
Probably not actually....Free agency can be a right old "girl" about these sorts of things. I know that most of the Legion have expressed interest in staying in Seattle, but the problem becomes, at what price?
So, Dallas needs to "find" @$30 mil in cap space. They are sitting at @$25 mil over and need money to sign their draftees.
So who do you think gets walking papers in Big D.
It looks like the Dallas Cowboys may take the Redskins title when it comes to top third-string quarterbacks. Dallas is set to sign one-time (like three throws vs. the Falcons in 2011) Eagles all-world quarterback Mike Kafka to a contract, according to the Fort Worth Telegram's Clarence Hill. The Cowboys will be the fourth team in four years to be blessed by the bald-headed warrior's presence.
Kafka has been minding his own bees wax for the better part of a year, after being cut by the Jaguars at the end of the last preseason. So if you are keeping track at home, Jon Kitna has been employed by an NFL team more frequently than Kafka. What's up with that?
Anyway, Kafka is likely being signed to help carry the load in OTAs with backup Kyle Orton, as Tony Romo recovers from surgery. He has limited game experience and likely would not be in a competition for the backup position. It seems to be a long cry from when fans stood behind Kafka as the Eagles backup in 2011. That said, being cut for Trent Edwards should have the earliest sign of a lack of talent.
So for those of you with teams potentially interested in Johnny Football, here's one scout's take. As I said earlier, pro scouts seem higher on the guy than you'd think.
AAANND... apparently Kafka told Jerry "Thanks, but NO!" and signed with Tampa Bay instead.
How bad are things in Dallas that a poor 3rd string QB doesn't want to be there?

I honestly don't get the praise for Manziel. He is absolutely a talent on the field, but I would think that his questionable maturity and definitely off the field baggage would draw people away.
Perhaps, but that risk doesn't really scare teams away as draft history has shown. It seems like a simple maturity thing, and how many of us wouldn't have partied if we were 21 and in his shoes?
It seems like the kid cares and works at his game. He seems to come from a good family. And he comes from money, so you think he probably isn't one of those guys who'll blow it all. A drug problem would be a major red flag, but I haven't read anything about that.
Ryan Leaf is the all-time great example of a talent gone bust, but that's also because he had an all-time great thin skin, bad attitude and head full of bad wiring. Lots of guys are NFL busts and *don't* end up in drug rehab, serving prison time for burglary, etc.
Alfndrate wrote: Joe Banner has stepped down as Browns CEO, Mike Lombardi has been let go, and Assistant-GM Ray Farmer has been promoted to GM.
Is that promotion a good thing?
Id say it's a good thing. Farmer was hired last year to be Lombardi's assistant and do the actual finding of talent. Former NFL player, Dustin Fox (who is a sports radio host in Cleveland now) picked Ray's brain during the senior bowl, apparently Ray knows what he's doing.
Those moves may or may not be good, but it's hard to see the Browns as anything but in total disarray. They fired a HC after one year, let his people hire a new HC, then fired them. Which means the new HC isn't really the new GM's guy either, so the clock is probably already ticking.
And Haslem said he wanted to run the Browns like the Steelers! Ha!

Johnny Manziel essentially is daring the Texans not to pick him in the upcoming NFL Draft. If he falls to a division rival such as the Jaguars instead, who have the third overall pick, Manziel suggested he'd have more motivation to make the Texans regret that choice.
"It would be the worst decision they've ever made," Manziel told the Houston Chronicle. "I'd be in the same division playing against them twice a year. Sorry, but you just turned that chip on my shoulder from a Frito into a Dorito."
Manziel has made it clear he wants to be a Houston Texan. He wants to be the number-one overall pick. He wants to stay in his home state of Texas and play with such Texans stars as Andre Johnson, J.J. Watt, and Brian Cushing.
"I want them to say absolutely, without a doubt, with 100 percent certainty, that I'm who they want," Manziel said in the Chronicle report.
"I want everybody from the janitor at Reliant Stadium, to the front office executive assistant, all the way up to Bob McNair to say, 'This kid is 100 percent, can't miss. This is who we want being the face of our program. We want the Texas kid staying in Texas and leading the Texans.'"
While I completely approve of him dropping a Dorito reference....as a texans fan I want no part of him on the team. I think hes at best the 3rd or 4th best QB in the draft class
NFL roundup: Salary cap up to $130 million for 2014
The NFL salary cap is projected to be about $130 million in 2014, up 5 percent from $123 million last year, ESPN's Adam Schefter reported Thursday.
The figure is higher than teams were expecting, which will provide some relief for cap-strapped organizations such as the Dallas Cowboys, Pittsburgh Steelers and New Orleans Saints.
Teams have until March 11 to get under the cap. Some teams have already started cutting players to create cap savings, as the Detroit Lions did last week in cutting safety Louis Delmas and wide receiver Nate Burleson and the Saints parting ways with linebacker Jonathan Vilma, safety Roman Harper, cornerback Jabari Greer and defensive end/outside linebacker Will Smith.
So last time I checked, the Dallas Cowboys are entering Free Agency with a whopping sum of....... $2 million in cap space.
That's not even enough for their draft picks... They have #16 in the first round..... they won the coin toss over the Rams. At least that's a positive.
Bears: Signed Houston (DE) to 5 Year $35 mil contract and seals Pepper's fate Resigned DJ William (MLB) on a 1 Yr deal Signed Ryan Mundy (S) on a 2 year contract
Cowboys Released Demarcus Ware
Colts Sign Arthur Jones (DE) on 5 year $30 mil + deal
49ers Sign Antoine Bethea (SS) to replace Donte Whitner
Cleveland SIgn Donte Whitner (SS) Signed Karlos Dansby (LB) Rumoured to be looking to trade for Darrelle Revis
Cardinals Sign Veldheer (LT) to a 5 Year $37.5 mil deal
Ravens resigned LT Eugene Monroe
Broncos Sign Aqib Talib (CB) and TJ Ward (SS)
I think the Raiders should be really upset with both Veldheer & Houston leaving Cleveland trading for revis could be interesting
Jared Allen has been linked with Chicago & Seattle: in addition to him stating he'll walk away if he doesn't get the deal he wants which would indicate Belichick wouldn't go for him.
That being said Lovie Smith seems to not want to win anything in Tampa having already decided on his starting QB but hasn't realised that he doesn't bring Trestman or Alshon Jeffery with him
Apparently it was partly buyers remorse that triggered the failed physical (Since the Raiders med staff set the test) and he plans to re-sign with the Rams. Eric Decker to the Jets makes sense to me: - Decker wants to prove he can be a #1 receiver with Manning around - The Jets desperately need a talented wideout What doesn't make sense is Carolina cutting Steve Smith, it saves them nothing in cap space and are saying he would be disruptive in the locker room
EDIT: Also if this image is who the browns are chasing I feel sorry for them, spoilered for size
Spoiler:
Who would actually want Rex Grossman on their roster?
That wasn't the Browns Free Agent or Draft Board, the room is the Web Media room, and it's a list of players that Browns want film highlights compiled on.
The "War Room" as it's called is on the second floor of the Browns facility, it has a shut and locked door with no windows. While that would have been the most Cleveland thing ever, it wasn't. You all can go back to making fun of other teams for now.
As for the half their cap space available comment, please tell me what talent the Browns had on their roster that warranted us needing to spend our Cap? Certainly not on Brandon Weeden... The Browns are sitting pretty this off season. They still have to find a way to attract players to Cleveland, but they're at least stepping in the right direction (i.e. away from anything to do with Joe Banner).

People throw around the "#1 receiver" tag a lot, but what does that really mean? Production? If that's the case, sure, I think he's #1 WR-caliber.
Personally, I think a #1 receiver needs to *change coverages*. By that definition, I don't think Decker's a #1. *shrug* But he can be a productive guy for the Jets, even if Geno Smith isn't exactly an All-Pro. Look at the numbers Josh Gordon put up playing for the Browns with that stable of QBs.
I might be the only one who thinks this, but while the Broncos' spending spree has been impressive, I'm not convinced that it puts them over the hump.

Nah, I agree. T.J Ward is a good signing and could make a difference for the defense but Talib and DeMarcus Ware are potentially very unreliable. I'm not convinced a few big name players on the other side of the ball from the Mann will help when they come up against the NFC. It might help against the Patriots, but then they just bought Revis Island.
Broncos are paying out far too much on Ware and Talib (who consistently gets injured) on the basis they must win before Manning retires. Besides one player can't shore up the entire secondary: if I had to chose one guy to do it then my choice would be Revis.
Chicago on the other hand is happily sitting with dead cap space this year but over the next couple of years they'll have a lot more cap space to play with (Especially when we cut McClellin) with a lot of starters under contract as well (Except the few on play & prove 1 Year deals)
Wow Red.... I counted 8 hurries, 3 tips and one bad snap.. but yeah it was ALL his fault....
Not the Center, not the O-line, not the Receivers, Not the TEs or RBs missing blocks
Nope.
It was All Weeden.......
Maybe if I win the lottery I will buy them and move them to OKC.... thus Cleveland can get over the pain.....
YES!!! Patriots sign Brandon browner to a 3 year deal today. Our secondary is shaping up on paper to be one of the best in the league. The AFC arms race continues between the patriots and bronco's. If healthy this year unlike last, I can't see anyone including the bronc's in the AFC standing up to the patriots. Now getting past whoever the NFC sends out is whole nother story.
Hopefully the pats solidify the lines in the draft and stay healthy.
Hlaine Larkin mk2 wrote: I quite liked D'Qwell Jackson but Dansby was a good replacement at least over the short term, not a big of Whitner though
Whitner over Ward was less of an improvement, and more of a changing skill sets. Ward is a good Safety, but he's more of a linebacker than a coverage guy, while Whitner is the opposite (though he can still do what Ward did pretty well). I'm okay with the Browns signings so far (Whitner, Dansby, Trufant and technically Hawkins from Cincinatti, but we have to wait until Tuesday), and I'm pretty excited for the current rumor though. Last night Ben Tate, RB from Texas tweeted a photo of Tower City Center lit up in the night sky, he's apparently been here the past two days. And with the QB-centric league we have, a good backup running back that wants to become the #1, this is probably his best bet at making the most money he'll make in his career. So I'm kind of excited for that.

If you win the lottery and move them to OKC, you will be just as bad as Art Modell. Cleveland has already gone through the gakky-ness that is losing our football team once, and Weeden's gone, no reason to pack up the franchise, especially since there are enough idiots to pay to see bad football live to make it profitable.
Edit: Ben Tate is now a RB for the Cleveland Browns

Again, Brandon Weeden might have been a big star in college and put up huge numbers in that Air Raid offense out there in Oklahoma. But he's not a good NFL QB now, and given that he's like 30(!), there doesn't look to be a lot of ceiling. Besides, that o-line had TWO Pro Bowlers on it. It may have had its issues, but it wasn't the worst line in the league.
The issue is more that Weeden isn't any good under pressure -- which is something you might expect from a 30 year old guy who played in a "one, two, get rid of it" offense.
I think Nick Foles is the only Air Raid offense quarterback who's done spit in the NFL.
Still trying to figure out how THAT Center got a Pro Bowl bid.. my guess is everybody else opted out.
As for Weeden, yeah he is 30 but he doesn't have half a dozen years worth of injuries from getting creamed behind an O-line that can't stop a pass rush.
