Yeah, I'm also stuck fighting reality at the moment. Uni work has been eroding my sanity for the past two weeks, and it's going to continue doing so for the following two weeks
That said, I had a chat with TS about my Remnants joining up with the Chaos-Tau-super-alliance, so I'll probably contact some of you over PM to discuss the details about them doing so
Also, I can't steal what's already mine, now can I?

Well, whilst the Imperials may be more fractured, they have a joint goal: see Crion remain safe and secure under Tobias' rule.
On the other hand, I doubt that the Tiller-Chaos-Tau-Harlequin-Ork-Necron alliance has the same end goal beyond killing the Imperials and claiming what they can from Crion and the surrounding systems.

Well, I did as best I could to find some data out about the New Order, but the only thing I found was THIS. According to this, they're Chimeric, descended from the Wolves of the Emperor Chapter (Black Templars successors, so at least 3rd Founding) and the Dragonkin Chapter (22nd Founding). So, they would need to be at least 22nd Founding, if the Dragonkin didn't last long. Kinda fun reading back on this. In fact, a general Wiki for the Crusades of Fury with artwork, rosters, lore and stuff would be pretty cool, but that's time I don't think any of us have. Also, good extract Irish! EDIT: Anyways, I'm up to date on writing things, I'm just biding my time until I can make some moves here.

Ew, you found thar super heckin old 4chan rendition of the NO. That was like the pre-pre-pre-alpha New Order. That was back when Sylus was scheduled to be the evil dude and Ryus was the definition of Mary Sue. It came from me having 3 different colors of Space Marines and wanting to make a fluff for it.
They are the New Order in name only.

Still, 22nd Founding's a number like any other - reckon it would fit?
I do sometimes forget that a lot of these forces are actually based on people's IRL armies and collections - if it weren't so geographically impossible, I'd say a game would be overdue about now.

I'm cool with this meeting. However, would the Tillers be invited? If so, I'm not sure how keen they'd be on meeting on a Xenos vessel. Or perhaps they don't come, or my guys act as intermediaries?

I mean, the Tillers don't really know of my Nurglites inlfluence, although their maybe rumors following New Pavus.
It could be the "big reveal" for Lynn and Mason but I'm not sure if they are ready to be pulled out of Nortannis just yet.
I pretty sure the only "accepted" allies the Tillers have are the Tau, im sure they will be greatly confused being brought onto a Necron vessel.
To be Honest this Alliance isn't even official, we just haven't killed each other, I am allies to the Necrons from Alliances past and I am allied to the Tau by proxy of the Tillers.
Strange Circumstances to be sure, the more I think of it the more i dislike the idea of having a big meeting actually.

I think it's less if they're welcome, and more if they want to show up. As far as we've seen the Tillers have only really accepted direct aid from the Tau of Sunstrike Cadre. Every other alliance has either hidden their true self (Garathal/Mason), or hasn't revealed their direct aid to the Tillers. As far as they're concerned, they have no idea that they're being aided by Chaos powers, or anything more alien than the Tau.

Just as a question for anyone in this, and especially in the first CoF - when is it actually set chronologically?
I've tried to narrow down where it must come, but I can't remember if certain events (13th Black Crusade, Badab War, Second War of Armageddon, World Engine, etc etc)
From what I can tell, it must take place after the Tyrannic Wars (characters mention Tyranids in various places), and after at least the Massacre of Sanctuary 101 (because Necrons are present and known about), but probably doesn't take place during/after the Siege of Fenris or return of Guilliman.
If anyone remembers any dates/events that would pinpoint the time, or wants to settle on a time between what appears to be 899.M41 and 995.999.M41, any help would be appreciated.
100072
Post by: Irishpeacockz
Some ideas have popped into my head about how present events can be used in the future, that is if we ever "catch up" to the new lore. I think COF 1 had a starting date, need to read the opening crawl again though.
EDIT: Neither of the crusades have any dates mentioned, at least on the front pages, guess no one wanted to set this in stone until now.

I would say before the Gathering Storm.
Unless a warp rift swallows Crion, that would be fun

Popping into this thread real quick to verify that I am still very much alive, but reality managed to get out of its cage again and I have to wrangle it back in there before it consumes my sanity.

Now there's a good question... the Lexicanum article says that the invasion of Ultramar by Honsou took place around the same time Abaddon launched his 13th Black Crusade, so I'd say our Crusades precede that event as well
I think our Crusades (should) also precede the Third War for Armageddon, because I don't think the Imperium would launch a Crusade into an Ork-held system if they're already having trouble to keep them off Armageddon.
71547
Post by: Sgt_Smudge
How about just after the Damnos Incident (974.M41)?
Gives good reason as to why the Ultramarine Second Company is without Sicarius (as he is still recovering from his injuries), and is between the Second and Third Wars of Armageddon.
It's also before the Damocles Gulf Crusade, yet after the Tau start colonising outside of their boundaries (Malbede).
Don't know if that conflicts with anyone else's fluff though.
98168

Maybe we are near Armageddon?

Post by: Sgt_Smudge
Charadon is close to the galactic south, to my knowledge.
Crion, on the other hand, I don't think is specified as to it's location. However, given there there are references to Faust and Pavus on Crion, and that some guardsmen participated in both, it seems like they might be nearby, relatively. Truthfully, I have no idea.

After looking through something in this CoF, a mention of the Valedor incident, I just have to ask how much later does this Crusade occur after CoF 1? If we assume CoF 1 occurs at max a year after perhaps the Damnos Incident (974.M41), and Valedor occurs at 997.M41, then would it be illogical to say that there is a 22 year gap? Is that too illogical?

Some of you might be thinking, Here is Irish again, stirring gak and kicking up a fuss but let's call it as it is.
The Crusade has hit a slump and it has not recovered sufficiently.
I'm not even sure who is writing anymore but it is apparent that the loss of writers has hit the Imperium HARD, it has hit the crusade as a whole HARD. The activity is just non existent here or so it seems, stories seem to be drip fed and with so few people here anymore it becomes difficult to form a cohesive story with out forcing those who are left together. At this rate I struggle to see CoF 2 ending nevermind CoF 3, and the thing is I have no idea why this is the case. Why has CoF 2 not worked when CoF 1 did ? People still had exams and finals in CoF 1, people still had jobs and lives during CoF 1 but CoF 2 has been stopped dead in its tracks. The thought of leaving CoF 2 has crossed my mind multiple times but I don't wanna do that hence why I am writing this.
There is a clear issue here folks and I don't see the solution.
Again not kicking up a fuss or stirring stuff but thats how I see it.

I like those, so here is how my factions will end.
My Necrons decide that with the pressing threat of the Dahk'ash and the lack of any promise on Crion, they decide to drop gear and disappear.
Big reveal, my 'Carcharodons' chase after the Eldar (WK, I imagine they would leave if things got really bad).
They approach the Governor to tell them they're leaving, Tyberos turns and psychically sends a message to the Governor 'Hydra Dominatus'.
You've all been played from the start

I'm not sure, I mean if the imperium wins my hounds will be pleased and if the blood dragons win i guess the Disciples of Decay will be pleased even if it wasnt them that destroyed Crion.
If the Tillers win well I guess Mason would be conflicted on the matter

Post by: Sgt_Smudge
The endings seem fine to me - perhaps some more "neutral" ones? Such as Chaos beating back all Imperial forces, or even any of the factions managing to secure their own control, rather than "humans or bust". I feel there should probably be a larger variety of ways to win the system back, other than purely "choose who rules Crion and then fight the Blood Dragons", but not sure how to implement that?
Still, nice to see that the story was hinted at, and there are certainly leads to it. I think perhaps the Blood Dragons returning could have featured earlier, as their fleet returns in the second act somewhere, with no-one being able to recognise them as Blood Dragons?
100072
Post by: Irishpeacockz
I agree Smudge, an effort should be made to tie in all the forces that popped up in the crusade, at least the ones that werent written out.
Are we just gonna focus on the ending now and no more pieces ? If so I might just spill the beans on all my Plans that will never see the light of day now

Of course I would be more than happy to see the Crusade end in some other way those three endings were just the pre-made plans. They fit the generic mold but things always happened that I did not anticipate. Any player who wants to try ending things their own way is more than welcome to.
I think I bit off a lot more than I could chew with all the factions that were at play. Originally it was supposed to be players deal with ork threat, players end Crion rebellion and either a new governor takes the throne or Payne stays in power, and then lastly after all the resources were spent in the civil war the Blood Dragons show up and the final fight begins. I think we got too caught up with the Orks (Especially the Gargant) Then after that nobody beside Bob's Scions and Smudge's Tau ever really cared about who was in charge of Crion so they let the Civil war go on with out them and there was never a clear winner so now both forces are going into the final phase.
Essentially the crusade started off big so I had this big grandiose story planned but then it lost a lot of momentum and that story became a drag and the pace went to crawl. I am really sorry to everyone I can't help but feel this my fault.

I disagree there Chazz, I dont wanna blame anyone but the Gargant really shat the bed for this crusade. I dont blame Blackjack or any of the GM's, I think we collectively should have resolved the Gargant sooner, maybe we could have saved some momentum that way.
Only thing we can do now is learn from the past and prepare for the future, that being the ending for now.
EDIT: I have posted another piece and I have either 3 on the go or one big one, the end ain't here quite yet.

I should've made the scale smaller for the orks. Saying they had a full Stompa mob was too much. That was my bad.
