Some of you might be thinking, Here is Irish again, stirring gak and kicking up a fuss but let's call it as it is.

The Crusade has hit a slump and it has not recovered sufficiently.

I'm not even sure who is writing anymore but it is apparent that the loss of writers has hit the Imperium HARD, it has hit the crusade as a whole HARD. The activity is just non existent here or so it seems, stories seem to be drip fed and with so few people here anymore it becomes difficult to form a cohesive story with out forcing those who are left together. At this rate I struggle to see CoF 2 ending nevermind CoF 3, and the thing is I have no idea why this is the case. Why has CoF 2 not worked when CoF 1 did ? People still had exams and finals in CoF 1, people still had jobs and lives during CoF 1 but CoF 2 has been stopped dead in its tracks. The thought of leaving CoF 2 has crossed my mind multiple times but I don't wanna do that hence why I am writing this.

There is a clear issue here folks and I don't see the solution.

Again not kicking up a fuss or stirring stuff but thats how I see it.

I've asked myself this a lot to I'm not sure what happened. So I propose an expedited ending an would like to openly discuss what plans I have had for the crusade and how it can play out. So spoilers ahead.

Spoiler:

So as stated earlier in the crusade the Blood Dragons disappeared after Crion was attacked by a massive ork WAAAGH! It was presumed that the orks just simply destroyed the chapter but the story continues.

The Chapter's master of the Forge Worjech Ivo fell to Chaos and then gifted the Blood Dragon's Chapter Master a demon possessed power sword. The Chapter Master then fell to chaos and isolated himself from his brothers. When the orks came to Crion Chapter Master Kronman ended his isolation and returned to his chapter with a solution to end to beat the orks. Kronman claims to have received a vision from the emperor about a psychic spell that would destroy the orks when they set foot on Crion. All of the members of the Chapter council agreed they should pursue this. Kronman ordered his captains to make ready for the ork invasion and demanded that he be left alone with the chief librarian.

Just as the orks began to land Kronman's spell worked and the orks began to disintegrate. The Blood Dragons won the day. However little did the captains know that this victory came at a huge cost. Captain Shang of the second company noticed the 10th scout company had gone missing. Shang suggest that the chapter must find the missing neophytes but Kronman reveals what happened to them. The ritual that killed the orks required the blood sacrifice of 100 marines so the entire 10th company was butchered. Captain Shang was horrified by this but the other captains were persuded by the chapter master that it was a necessary evil. Shang and the rest of his company attempt to revolt against the rest of the chapter but are defeated and imprisoned beneath the lake of Nortannis guarded by the fearsome Beast of the Black Loche. After imprisoning their brothers in cryo stasis the Blood Dragons then embarked upon a secretive crusade deep into the warp and were lost there for what they thought would be an eternity.

Flash forward to now. The Blood Dragons now entirely corrupted by the foul magics of the warp have returned after the psykers felt their brothers awaken from their slumber. While they worship all four chaos gods they have a particular interest in Nurgle and seek to preform another ritual on crion that would transform it into the greatest garden of plague in the universe. This is the reason Crion is so bountiful the ritual they preformed that first time made it this way.

Now how does this all end? I see a few possibilities.

1) Imperial victory. The loyalist defeat the Heretic Blood Dragons and restore Crion back to normal.

2) Blood Dragon Victory. The Blood Dragons are successfully able to preform their ritual and turn the planet into a demon world. (This plan basically destroys the planet.)

3) Tiller Victory. Same as the Imperial victory only Horatio Payne takes the throne.

Or other.

Let me know what you guys think.

I like those, so here is how my factions will end.

My Necrons decide that with the pressing threat of the Dahk'ash and the lack of any promise on Crion, they decide to drop gear and disappear.

Big reveal, my 'Carcharodons' chase after the Eldar (WK, I imagine they would leave if things got really bad).

They approach the Governor to tell them they're leaving, Tyberos turns and psychically sends a message to the Governor 'Hydra Dominatus'.

You've all been played from the start

I'm not sure, I mean if the imperium wins my hounds will be pleased and if the blood dragons win i guess the Disciples of Decay will be pleased even if it wasnt them that destroyed Crion.

If the Tillers win well I guess Mason would be conflicted on the matter

The endings seem fine to me - perhaps some more "neutral" ones? Such as Chaos beating back all Imperial forces, or even any of the factions managing to secure their own control, rather than "humans or bust". I feel there should probably be a larger variety of ways to win the system back, other than purely "choose who rules Crion and then fight the Blood Dragons", but not sure how to implement that?

Still, nice to see that the story was hinted at, and there are certainly leads to it. I think perhaps the Blood Dragons returning could have featured earlier, as their fleet returns in the second act somewhere, with no-one being able to recognise them as Blood Dragons?

I agree Smudge, an effort should be made to tie in all the forces that popped up in the crusade, at least the ones that werent written out.

Are we just gonna focus on the ending now and no more pieces ? If so I might just spill the beans on all my Plans that will never see the light of day now

I think if things are sped up somewhat, but people should still be allowed/ encouraged to work on their own plots.

Also, finally got my own chunk up, in between preparing for a final game of 7th.

I apologise for not posting a lot lately, but I'm suffering from a nasty case of writer's block, combined with all sorts of RL issues...

The endings seem fine to me; although I think Smudge's suggestion of more 'neutral' endings certainly has merit

Of course I would be more than happy to see the Crusade end in some other way those three endings were just the pre-made plans. They fit the generic mold but things always happened that I did not anticipate. Any player who wants to try ending things their own way is more than welcome to.

I think I bit off a lot more than I could chew with all the factions that were at play. Originally it was supposed to be players deal with ork threat, players end Crion rebellion and either a new governor takes the throne or Payne stays in power, and then lastly after all the resources were spent in the civil war the Blood Dragons show up and the final fight begins. I think we got too caught up with the Orks (Especially the Gargant) Then after that nobody beside Bob's Scions and Smudge's Tau ever really cared about who was in charge of Crion so they let the Civil war go on with out them and there was never a clear winner so now both forces are going into the final phase.

Essentially the crusade started off big so I had this big grandiose story planned but then it lost a lot of momentum and that story became a drag and the pace went to crawl. I am really sorry to everyone I can't help but feel this my fault.
