- the unit may treat difficult terrain as normal terrain.
- the unit may treat dangerous terrain as difficult terrain.
- the unit may treat impassable terrain as passable, they just know where the tunnels are....still have to pass in one turn. If any model cannot be placed in formation it is lost and removed from the game without any saves allowed.
Monster compendium:
- a unit equipped with this may reroll to hit or to wound once per shooting or assault phase.
- you misread it! any 1 rolled at rerolls results in d3 S 5 ap - hits, distributed randomly amongst the unit.
bag of dice:
a model with a bag of dice counts as having defensive and assault grenades.
Anticipate: A roleplayer can anticipate the future and write out a scenario to stop it from happening that confers a 5+ Invulv.
Off topic posters should be like scout squads as a cheap, inferior troops choice or a funny fast attack. Since they are off-topic, require them to outflank and never have a choice of sides, only the random choice unless there is a upgrade such as a lesser mod to keep them in line. Also, trolls should be assault-oriented and fearless because they clearly never give up.
Special rules: Fearless, Furious Charge, Feel No Pain (3+), Preferred Enemy (everything), Worshipped, Typo.
Typo- Has 2 CCWs Worshipped- As long as the Master Troll is in a unit with Trolls, any wound to the master troll can be transferred to a Troll in the same unit.

FlamePosters
- 12 points per Model
Unit Type: Jump Infantry*
Squad Size: 5-10
WS/3 BS/3 S/3 T/3 W/1 I/5 A/2 LD/7 SV/5+
Wargear - flak armor, ccw, vitriol spewer
Vitriol Spewer - It has the following profile = Range: Template S4 AP5 Pistol, gets hot!
One model in the squad may take a power weapon for 10 points.
Special Rules - Scout, Infiltrate, Furious Charge, DS, Flames of Rage, "Purge the idiot! Maim the troll!"
*Flames of Rage - Makes them count as jump infantry, but they always count as landing in dangerous terrain. Threads tend to get nasty during a flamewar!
"Purge the idiot! Maim the troll!" - Designate a non-vehicle enemy squad, mc or character. The Flameposters have gotten enraged against this poor unit, and gain the the preferred enemy rule against them. Also, their flamers and spewers count as twinlinked.
Yes, we have monstrous creature HQs. We also have a psyker HQ, and various Captain-like Special Characters. We also have a renegade style Character I think. I am working on this, I'll have the first part out soon, hopefully by the weekend, but I cannot make any promises.
Wargear: Lashing Sarcasm, bag of knives, Lifejacket, Triangle of Friendship
Lashing Sarcasm: Chowderhead is known to be a bit of an asshat most of the time, and doesn't speak in a friendly tone. Ever. To represent him flaying his opponents alive with his voice, all close combat attacks he makes are Rending.
Bag Of Knives: This is a bag containing all the Knives Chowderhead has. He throws them, knowing full well that was another 20 bucks down the drain.
S: 4 | AP:2 | Assault 3 | 12 inch range
Lifejacket: This grants him a 4+ Armor Save, and a 3+ Invul Save. Lord knows why the Armor Save is worse, but whatever. He's fethed in the head anyway.
Triangle of Friendship: Any Moderators wishing to Deep Strike within 6 inches of Chowderhead may do so without scatter or taking any difficult or dangerous terrain checks.
Special Rules: VP of DOOMFART, ADD Avatar, Easily Bannable, Is he a Girl?
VP of DOOMFART: Any models within 6" of Chowderhead gain the Stealth USR.
ADD Avatar: Every turn, replace Chowderhead with a new model that is currently not on the field. This does not mean that you can't have the same model on the Table at once. For Instance, if you replace Chowderhead with a model for Astorath the Grim, and he is already in play, this is fine. Please note which is which, however.
You do NOT have to tell your opponent what model you have replaced Chowderhead with. You must, however, start with the Chowderhead Model already in play. WSYIWYG does not count for all models that replace the original Chowderhead figure.
Easily Bannable: Chowderhead is not removed when killed. Place the original Chowderhead model, lying on it's side, where Chowderhead has taken his last wound. On a 4+, Chowderhead stands back up with D2 wounds, ready to jump right back into the fray.
“Is he a Girl?”: No-one wants to hit a hot chick! Any unit wishing to fire upon Chowderhead must take a Morale test. If failed, no shots are fired. Vehicles count as Ld10 for the purposes of this rule.
Plot Armour: Grants a 4++ save. It also grants Eternal Warrior and the ability to re roll any 1s. (Re-rolls cannot be re-rolled. Clearly if you get a 1 twice in a row, that's what was meant to happen and you didn't read the book properly.)
Special Rules: Psyker (Mastery Level 2), IC, Disdain. Disdain- Can never join a unit of noobs, haters, trolls or lurkers. *Remove?
Options: Must choose two psychic powers from the list below. Must choose an Alignment (Chaos, Imperial, Eldar or Ork) -Can upgrade the Paperback Book to a Hardback Book for +25. This is a Force Weapon which doubles the user's strength. -Can upgrade the Bolt Pistol to a Plasma Pistol for +15. -Can purchase extra reading reading material for +20. It allows them to choose and cast another psychic power. -Can be upgraded to Fluff Master for +50.
Fluff Master- WS-5, BS-6, S-3, T-3, W-3, I-3, A-3, Ld-10, Sv-5+/3++ Special Rules: Psyker (Mastery Level 3), IC, Disdain. Has all the same equipment and options, but must choose three powers instead of two.
Dakka Psychic Powers: -Theory Spam: [The psyker theorises on the contents of the next codex by reaching into the Warp, spamming theories at a super-human rate. A side effect is that the time warping powers also speed up his allies.]Theory Spam can be cast at the beginning of either player's Assault Phase. The psyker and any unit he is in at the time fight at +1A and +1I for the turn.
-Obscure Reference: [The psyker draws on material long forgotten to all others, confusing his enemies.] Obscure Reference is cast at the beginning of the Dakka player's turn. If the power is cast successfully, one enemy unit visible to the psyker within 24" (including a unit in combat. Allies are invisible for the purposes of this power) fights at initiative 1 for the rest of the turn. If the psyker has Extra Reading Material, the target(s) also lose(es) 1A (to a minimum of 1)
-Retcon: [The psyker uses the dark powers of retcon to not only destroy an enemy, but to prevent it ever existing at all.] Retcon is a psychic shooting attack with the following profile: S10, AP1, Range: 48", Assault 1, Blast. It cannot be cast against HQ choices, as they have too great a Warp presence (and GW won't let you).
-Scripted Death: [The psyker calls the eventual death of the target to the current battle.] Scripted Death is a psychic shooting attack with the following profile: S5, AP3, Range: 24", Assault 3. However, against HQ choices, it has the following profile: S5, AP1, Range: 24", Assault *(equal to target's current number of wounds.)
-Lash of Submission (Chaos only)
-Hammerhand (Imperial only)
-Mind War (Eldar only)
-Waaagh Dakka! (Orks only): All Dakka units, apart from those the psyker feels Disdain for, can either 1) move an extra 6" during the movement phase once only in the battle. 2) fire an extra shot in the shooting phase once only in the battle. 3) become Fearless and gain Furious Charge for the turn.
Retcon When Retcon is targeted at a HQ choice, instead of taking damage, roll on the following table: 6: No Profit- [The attention of the Dark Powers is called to the fact there is no benefit to them in this character's existence, as they only scrape even with them. The target immediately ceases to ever have existed under their rage.] The target is removed from the game. No wounds are taken, no points are scored, and it cannot be prevented by anything.
5: Sistered: [The Dark Powers see they are making little profit from the character in question, but decided to give them a more fitting punishment than deletion. They remove all that made the character until they exist in name only.] The target loses all special rules apart from IC and fights with the stats and wargear of a troops choice, no upgrades allowed.
4: Avatared- [The Dark Powers toy with the character. They are not destroyed or removed. Instead they are subjected to humiliation after humiliation until no one can take them seriously.] -1 to all stats. Per turn, leaving it at 1 of everything minimum.
3: Profit! - [The Dark Powers see they are benefiting from the character's existence and decided to leave them as they are.] The target is unaffected.
2: ???- [The Dark Powers see that they are benefiting from the character's existence, but decide to experiment and see if a more powerful version would earn them extra money.] The target gains +1 to all stats, as well as any one special rule from a Special Character in their Codex.
1(can be re-rolled with Plot Armour, but the re-roll is on a D3): Redesign the Character- [The Dark Powers assign a fanboy to rewrite the target.] It fights with the following profile for the remainder of the battle WS-9, BS-9, S-7, T-7, A-7, I-9, W-7 Ld-10, Sv- 2+/2++ Special Rules: Nothing To Go On, plus whatever they had previously. Wargear: Sue Sword, Mary Mangler, Fanboy Armour. The Sue Sword ignores all saves and inflicts Instant Death. The Mary Mangler is a Pistol with the following profile: S10,AP1, Range 24", Assault 3
Nothing To Go On: The character no longer matches any fluff it previously had, and its enemies cannot acquire the new fluff fast enough to make a new strategy to fight it. The character cannot be shot, assaulted or targeted by psychic powers in the turn that it was Retconned. However, this rule is negated if the Dakka player passes a leadership test with a Rumour Monger unit.

Fangirl (meant in the nicest possible way!): An army including Melissia may include up to 500 points of Orks or Sisters of Battle. In addition, these units can be taken from old, out of print Codices.
Charming: Melissia is utterly lovely, and as a result all models that attempt to shoot or assault her must take a leadership test, and if they fail this test, may not assault or shoot at all. This rule does not apply to Tyranids, due to their lack of souls.
Feel no Pain, Furious Charge, Eternal Warrior, Fearless, Independent Character.

May also take 2 aspects from Learn From Games.
Painbiro has the Sceptre of OtherForumHate, which is a Staff of OtherForumHate which grants +1 Strength.
The Bolt pistol may be replaced with a Plasma Pistol for free.
Painbiro also has the Interweb Surf special rule.
Interweb Surf: Painbiro looks at forums, and reports their weaknesses back to Dakka. When fighting an opponent who’s army is from a forum, all units have Preferred Enemy against that opponent, even if it’s a Dakka army.
Rules: Grave Weakness, He's sick, "I'm blind", Counter-attack, Fat
Equipment: Armour of anime, Blade of confusion, Spork of randomness, Gun of filth
Rules
"Grave Weakness": DukeBadham has but one weakness, a weakness so disturbing and vile it cannot be named, as such select on enemy character when DukeBadham is deployed, that character has documents contain images of Dules weakness, and he wants them, When DukeBadham charges the selected character, he gains +1 attack and +1 to hit.
"he's sick": Select one enemy unit when DukeBadham deploys, That unit knows the Duke's weakness, and are so disgusted that they gain the preferred enemy rule against him.
"I'm Blind": When DukeBadham Charges, The enemy being charged suffer -1 to hit, due to the light from his ginger locks blinding them.
"Fat": DukeBadham has the slow and purposeful USR, but may re-roll any difficult terrain tests.
Armour of anime: The Armour of anime confers a 2+ save and a 5+ invulnerable save on DukeBadham.
Blade of confusion: Blade of confusion is a two handed weapon that give Duke +1 strength and allows no saves of any kind, because the enemy is too confused.

Range 16"/S 4/AP 4/type Pistol
Duke Badham also has the following psychic power:
Hentai Bomb:
range/strength/ap/type
18" / 5 / 3/ assault 1, blast
If DukeBadham uses this power he may not assault later in the turn by any means.
Spork of randomness: Spork of randomness is random, and counts as defensive grenades, as well as granting +1 to his invulnerable save, to a minimum of 6+. This must be removed before any other pieces of Wargear conferring an invulnerable save.
Wargear - Multilaser, terminator armor, banner of annoyance
banner of annoyance = A crudely made banner that insults the enemy in the most inane ways possible. May also come with a stereo that plays a constant loop of Justin Bieber. Any enemy squad within 12" of the banner must take a LD test at the beginning of their turn. If failed, they must move towards and shoot and/or the SSSS if possible
May take a razorback, at whatever points is listed in the SM codex if the squad is less than 4 models.
Special Rules = Backflip, Fearless, FNP, deep strike, "Hold the line, our sacrifice must not be in vain!", razorback surfing
Backflip = gains a 12" move
The entire squad May upgrade the banner of annoyance to a banner of C.S Goto for + 10 points a model.
banner of C.S Goto = This is a banner that praises the works of C.S Goto. As such, every enemy squad within 12" of the banner must take a LD test at -3 at the beginning of their turn. If failed, they must move towards and shoot/assault the SSSS if possible.
"Hold the line, our sacrifice must not be in vain!" = +3 invul save, and EW.
razorback surfing - Razorbacks count as opentopped when taken by the SSSS
I would think "angry" would fit more than "lovely". I should go write my own entry out of lulziness.
But then again, I find the idea of people considering me "lovely" (as in looks) to be odd considering that very few people on this forum have seen my visage to begin with.
Just checking in? I finished my Dwellar codex more or less, finished my book, finished shooting, had my drink to much bai jiou Chinese New Year celebration (which lasted a week, lots and lots of liquor. Friend got marrie.) So, if anyone want any help or anything working on this, I've got some time cleared up for a few days. Other than that, just wondering, how is it coming along so far? Oh and hope you had a Happy Chinese New Year, if you celebrate it.
Someone came up with some bits, (can't remember who, sorry!) That I thoguht you might want to chew over while I finish up here.

You could issue a challenge to another site that posts about 40k for their members to make a codex up that is generally, fairly playable, and maybe a person from each site could sit down and play eachother after rules and stuff were agreed upon and the point costs and everything were thought to be fair. Those stated as "IN" in green... corrections welcome

Instead of one elite, fast, or heavy unit you may take one...(These do not count as troops and you can field no more than two.)
Vampirate of sartosa and his fluffists

Or...
Counting as two troop slots you may take one...(These do not count as troops and you can field no more than two.)

Other than that random thought, Vampirate of sartosa and his fluffists I think should just take up two troop slots and be UNIQUE. (if there not already, I'll admit to not checking when I write this. Lazy, I know, I know, I'm sorry.)
Egocentric forumite sounds like it should be in Elite or Fast
and
Ot forum poster sounds like HQ but there are a lot of HQ as is so...maybe just make it a ONE PER ARMY upgrade of spamposter. (You know, like in every so many spam postings an original topic emerges.)
Ok, I don't know what OT stands for. But, I have offered ideas, and I will continue to be of some little assistance in some awkward way.
Also, i also have trouble with the PDF thing, made DWELLAR a docx, So I understand
Or you could take my character as like a trait it doesn't cost anything. Like we are different traits.

Also, yakface runs Dakkadakka, and yes, I believe there is already an entry for him. If there isn't, there probably shouldn't be cause that would be like giving a primarch rules. And I think they were meant be like sanguinary guard.
Yakface runs Dakka... And there is a swear filter which changes swear words to other words... Also stop with the multiposting. It's incredibly annoying...

But the gold armour..... and sorry for the multiposting, it's my first week of dakka, so I haven't quite got things yet.... also, the reason I wanted to know who ran Dakka is for fluffy reasons.... BEHOLD!! FLUFF!! yakface was the second primarch to be created, and was accidentally infected with some chaos early on, thus the emperor tried to kill him, but couldn't (too powerful,) so he just psy-K.O.'d him and jettisoned him into space.... but he is immortal. and he has never forgotten. it was actually HE who manipulated *word-bearer-primarch* into serving the chaos gods. Not Horus, but HE who killed Sanguinius, and nearly destroyed the Emperor. But the Emperor did not kill him that day. He is immortal. And he has never forgotten.

I am actually planning on making 2 of these guys for my Wanderers army. Should be interesting.
if there is only 3 FA than it's an easy option to move one or two of the "where do I put these" into FA and just mesh some rules around. Or move an HQ into another slot. Again, a lot of HQ choices, but it's all good.
When you're thinking fiery angel wings, are you think diablo 2 by any chance, Tyriel or Tyrial I think it was. I get that, that's cool.
Can our fluff be about an entire system from another universe that was warped into the 40k verse by playing with forces beyond their control. A system of dakkites who had already conquered their verse and were at firs awestruck and saddened at the space shift, until they realized there was still war here, and they now could use their awesome toys once again?
No, but seriously, what did happen to the fluff? No posts or nothin?
I could write it but I am too lazy too do so. Plus i would need approval.
PLus Fiery Angels would be a boost to amount of other options we have right now.

Anywho, in regards to fluff I can chip in a bit if no one's doing any.
There is someone doing fluff, is what I was poking fun at. Not that anyone else writing any is not cool or anything, just that, I was wondering when the person who was writing fluff *they know who they are* was going to post some or links to some?
Not asking them to hurry, take your time and all, just really curious as to what crazy kind of fluff can make sense of these rules and characters of which we have eluded to. It does garner my interest as toward reading it.
Speaking of which, let me go back and find the post by the person who officially aloud me into the codex so I can use their name in the Dwellar fluff. Not sure what race or partext they'll be, but I am a man of my word so going to write 'em in.

The problem with your rules is that you're not really prominent enough on Dakka to be an HQ or unique unit. What we're mainly doing is having people be unit upgrades, a bit like sergeant Telion.

I suppose I could do some fluff for the roleplayers, seeing as that is my own particular area of expertise on Dakka. I tell you, a lot of interesting inter-player stories and shenanigans took place without the majority of Dakka even being aware of it.
Ah, those were the golden days, back when seeing a Mod in the Roleplay section was a rare thing. The freedom, the sweet, sweet freedom.

I changed my entry, since normal members can't be MCs
CthuluIsSpy - 125pts
CthuluIsSpy is an upgrade to a veteran dakka gamer squad. The squad he joins becomes sneaky veteran gamers, and gain the Fearless, infiltrate, stealth and "Wait, why are you shooting at us!" special rules. In addition, the Sneaky veterans have access to the following wargear options (in addition to their normal options). However, they lose access to bikes, terminator armor and jump and jet packs, iron halos and jetbikes.
Any model in the SVG squad may replace his default weapon with
Synaptic disintegrater - 5pts
Type: Infantry (Unique)
WS3 BS4 S4 T4 W3 A2 Ld10 3+/5++
Wargear : Armor of Mind ery, Claw of Cthulu
Armor of mind ery : Grants a 3+/5++ save. Counts as having defensive grenades and offensive grenades, and in addition any enemy units must reroll all successful hits in both CC and Shooting; they are too perplexed to concentrate on fighting and aiming!
Claw of Cthulu : Two handed Force Weapon that adds +1 to strength and has the following ranged attack : Epeleptic Breeze : Range: 12" S: D6Ap: D6 Assault D3, pinning This ranged attack is not psychic.
Special Rules : Infiltrate, Fearless, stealth, "Wait, why are you shooting at us!" , Vulgar Tirade, Pfft Demons....
"Wait, why are you shooting at us!" : Place CthuluIsSpy's squad in reserve as normal. However, when they arrive he replaces an enemy infantry squad on the table (that does not have a dedicated transport) of CthuluIsSpy's owner's choice. The squad he replaces is placed in reserve (I'm not that cheesy) CthuluIsSpy and his squad may charge, move and shoot as normal.
Vulgar Tirade : Once per game, CthuluIsSpy may burst into a cacophony of curse words, obscure references and lewd remarks, that breaks the insanity of all who is near.
Range: Flamer S10* AP1, *Resolved against target's leader value. If failed, remove the model from play.
This ability has no effect against Space Wolves (they've heard worse), and things Slaaneshi (don't ask)
Pfft Demons....: Immune to perils of the Warp (Demons won't go near him...)

Otis the Barbarian, it would be a wise move not to threaten people such as 1hadhq. We rather like him. It would also be a good idea to check the rules on what can be posted. I'm not sure your dogvatar is really prominent enough on Dakka to be considered for the codex.

Probably, even I can't remember everything that went on back in those days.. hell, there was a lot going on in the RP section even before myself and the "original vets" started running things.
Also, if it's alright with everyone, I'd like to write some additional roleplayer rules for other upgrade characters, to represent other prominent roleplayers, or at least include them as special rules or some-such under my own profile.

wargear: power armour twin lightning claws jump pack bolt pistol
Special rules: DCM- Being allowed access to classified data, shrike can re-roll one dice roll per turn, with a +1 modifier to any reserve rolls for his army. Master of shadows- stealth, hit & run, infiltrate, fleet. I blame shrike- if the player chooses, any wounds taken on an IC via shooting attack may be taken on Shrike if the IC wishes. Underestimated- Shrike is thought to be of little threat in a battle. He is, however, prone to unexpected bursts of luck, will or plain insanity. His insane heroism rule when rolling a leadership check is applied on a 4 or below as opposed to a 2.

Special Rules: GW Hate, Stubborn(confers to the unit), Spin in place, Preferred enemy(Kanluwen, New Armies)
Hater armor: The Hater armor is a set of power armor forged in the fires of Hater Mountain. It confers H.B.M.C with a 2+ armor save.
Mastercrafted Laspistol: A powerful laspistol with the following profile: Range: 24 Str 7 AP3 Assault 1 pinning
Commissar Hat: H.B.M.C. is never seen without his Commissar Hat. This confers no bonuses.
GW Hate: H.B.M.C. hates all things that GW does. Against any army with a codex after 4th edition, role a dice, on a 3+ all Haters in the army are changed from infantry to Beasts and have Preferred Enemy against the army they are facing. In addition, if Kanluwen is included in the force, H.B.M.C. MUST stay at least 18'' away from him, or they must immediately move to engage each other, with no alternatives, even if both are in squads. Always at odds with Kanluwen, they bicker back and forth, only occasionally united in cause.
Spin in Place: H.B.M.C.'s avatar is constantly spinning. It can dizzy opponents and confuse them. H.B.M.C. has a 5+ invulnerable save.

You may take 1-3 Old Farts per elites choice. They are not deployed together and act as individuals during a game. They also cannot take transports, as they do not trust in these new-fangled machines, unless the vehicle is pre fourth edition.
Mutants - Lifelong exposure to superglue has warped the old fart in many strange ways. Roll d8 times on the Mutation Table (Rogue Trader p52)
Fearless - Keeper of Secrets? I remember when you used to be three inches smaller and were still fighting Zoats. And noise marines were always better with proper guitars.
Flexidisk - Upon hearing the sounds of Bolt Thrower from an antique flexidisk player, all enemy models within 6" take a -1 penalty to their SANITY (read Ld for any and all tests required, with cumulative penalties per player turn).
Herohammer - All HQ choices in the army get 50pts extra to their wargear allowance. Of course, if you're playing with current edition rules, this has no effect. But what idiot would do that?
(Or just 50 extra points to your army list. Yeah, that works too.)
Darkvoidof40k wrote:Now that I think about it, shouldn't DCM be an army-wide special rule that only certain special characters have?
I second that.
Before it gets put into the codex under any rules.
I had a force opponent to re-roll their succesful hits or wounds thing in my original write of the Dwellar. After a few playtests with it, I found it was just really not cool. It's hard when you watch your opponent re-roll failed hits, but you live with it, or re-roll failed wounds, rarely even armor saves, but when a player manages to get a hit on something, and they have to roll their own success again and fail, it's not cool. It really does drum the game down, and if we are ever going to use this codex in an actual game format, I would kindly suggest, stronger than any suggestion I've previously made, to never have any rule that forces someone to re-roll what may already be a lucky roll for them.

Uh... I'll get started on a general fluff overview, and then people can write any fluff that they want based on that. Don't worry, it'll be pretty lenient.
DCM would certainly be a good option for Mods and Admins to have, as well as the HQ special characters. Or just have it so that for X points, the champion of any unit can become a DCM, unless they are a Special Character who doesn't have that rule already. And especially not Durza, since he should never be trusted with power. Of any kind. Ever.
As for what it would do, possibly some form of infiltrate or scout via the DCM forum, an extra cover save since they can change their appearance (well just title, but...) or bonus to shooting since they're not distracted by ads.
liquidjosh wrote:Erm... yeah, I'm all for DCM as an option, but what exactly does it do?
Well, think of what DCMs get:
title change (no idea)
no adverts (less distractions)
DCM forum (more intel/knowledge/restricted area)
less money
I'd go with something like outflank/DS via DCM forum as Durza suggested, infiltrate (as we are masters of disguise), +1 to reserve rolls/can outflank/DS turn 1, etc.

Otis The Barbarian wrote:and what is this with the "mod in the Rp section"? and that "a lot of inter-player stories and shenanigans" stuff? I can't understand any of this....!
It's a reference to a lot of things which have happened in the course of many RP's on dakka.
An example:
In Space Hulk, WARORK played an ork warboss who managed to kill a warhound titan, while in a mega dread, by headbutting it in the crotch.
Otis The Barbarian wrote: ....... ... this is really the only way to describe my reaction to what you just said.
Here is the extract from the original game:
WARORK wrote:Warklaw's eyes searched for the umie titan that he'd seen vaporize his boyz earlier, he'd bring that thing to its knees if it killed him...There! The spikey humiez were trying desperately to pull it back but it was big and slow, kind of like Warklaw, but Warklaw was definitely smaller than it, no matter, he'd still take it out. He motored his legs as fast as they would go, his new chain blade in the air. the Warhound had its back turned to Warklaw, its one mistake, the driver proabably thought it was safe, but the sudden breakthrough had caused it to be in danger, slowly it was turning around to adress the new threat. Warklaw new if it got a shot at him that would be it, he'd be as blasted as his other boyz that got turned into dust were.
Warklaw was determined not to let that happen, he pushed the legs of his dread past safe speeds and bounded towards the turning titan, his dread was about two thirds its size but Warklaw wasn't scared he'd beaten bigger things than him before. The Warhound was almost all the wya lined up and Warklaw had only a few paces left, this race of wills was coming down to the wire...
Finally with and orky scream, Warklaw laucnched his dread at the Warhound which fired its weapons...
The blasts winged Warklaw's dread, vaporising his right arm. Warklaw yelled in anger, now, quite literally, disarmed, he wasnt going down though, not by a long shot, the blasts of the warhounds two guns had injured hte warbos but he was nowhere near dead. His momentum still going forward, Warklaw's dread collided with the Warhound, its bulk hitting the titan squarely between its legs. Both the machines toppled over in a great crash of metal and were still. the event was so monumental that both sides looked on in awe at what had happned...
Slowly, one figure rose out of the smoke of the crash, its chain arm sitll whirring madly, Warklaw lifted a WAAAAAGH! to shake the heavens and plunged his blade arm deep into the head of the prostrate warhound titan and ripped it off with a tug of his arm. The sight filled every ork with pride, their boss, their god had just beaten the humiez own, they couldn't lose, as long as one ork still stood and one ork still killed, they couldn't lose...
I don't think army-wide, just for the sqaud that the DCM in question is in.
I think the DCM rule should be available to MODs, admins and DCMs only.
Maybe mods should also get the "banhammer" CCW which inflicts ID regardless of toughness?
Annoying Forum Troller

Point cost: 35 Points per model.

Wargear: Lasgun, Frag/krak grenades, Keyboard (counted as close combat weapon), Las-pistol, flak armour.
Special Rules: TROLL, Annoying, Largely insignificant
TROLL: Forum Trollers are specialised on annoying people and then mysteriously slipping away, without a trace. Forum Trollers locked in close combat may always leave it without suffering any consequences. If they do, then he/she will immediately leave any unit they are joined with and move 6" in any direction. If this move isn't enough to move it out of close combat then the Forum troller is still counted as being close combat.
Annoying: Everybody hates trollers but sometimes just can’t recognize them. If a Forum troller is joined with any unit then at the beginning of each turn roll a D6 and consult the following chart:
1-2. What?- The unit in which the Forum troller is joined fails to notice the troll, and thus is unaffected.
3-4. Damn troll!- The unit in which the Forum troller recognises the troll and is seriously annoyed. The unit gains the Preferred enemy universal special rule and +1 I, until end of turn.
5. That fething troll!!- The unit is seriously annoyed by the troll and is driven in to fanatical rage! The forum troll immediately suffers 1 automatic wound in which he can take his normal save. The unit in which the Forum troll was joined with immediately gains +1 A, +1 I and the Preferred enemy universal special rule, until end of turn.
6.Outrageous!- The Forum trollers troll is so outrageous that he is kicked out from the forum and inspires almost suicidal bravery and rage to other forum users! Remove the Forum troll automatically from play (this does not give VP points). The unit in which the Forum troll was joined with, gains one of either the Preferred enemy, Rage, Tank Hunters, Fearless or Feel no pain universal special rules, for the rest of the game.
Largely insignificant: Killing the Forum troll doesn't give VP points and is always ignored in close combat resolution if he is killed.

However, if that unit attacks Kanluwen in any way Kanluwen gains the "Rage" USR until the unfluffy unit is destroyed. Note that only Kanluwen is subject to these rules, not his unit.
Cadians Ho!: Kanluwen sure loves his Cadians. When fighting alongside Cadian Imperial Guards units, Kanluwen may issue the "For the Honour of Cadia!" order up to 12”.
Apologist: If Kanluwen comes within 12" and LOS of a Hater squad (of either type), he and his squad gain the Rage! special rule, with the Hater squad counting as the closest enemy unit, until one of the squads is destroyed. The two squads engage each other in close combat as if they were on different teams.

Dakkanought With "Da Wurks"
Spoiler:
Da Wurks Dakkanought:
270 points.
Profile and wargear: Same as Dakkanought, with any changes listed in “Da Wurks” applied.
Hero of Dakka: The Dakkanought is a hero of Dakka interred in the Immortal sarcophagus of a Dreadnought to serve once more in the army of Dakka, and this is doubly so with a Dakkanought with Da Wurks. Any unit even partially within 18" of the Dakkanought gains the fearless and stubborn USR, and +1 attacks in close combat.
Da Wurks: Crafted for the highest Veterans of Dakka, the heavy customisation known colloquially as "Da Wurks" involves heavy retrofitting, power boosting and re modelling of the Sarcophagus of the Dakkanought. What emerges is one of the most fearsome weapons in the Dakka arsenal, powerered by a revered veteran, probably Legoburner, Doombthumbs or someone like that when they eventually die (IF they eventually die).
Da Wurks increases the Dakkanoughts WS, BS, FA, SA, RA, A and I by two. The Dakkanought gains the Night Vision USR, as well as the following weapons:
Two shoulder mounted assault cannons, Two dreadnought close combat weapons with under-slung assault cannons, Frag assault launchers.
A Dakkanought with Da Wurks counts as a HQ choice, and has two structure points and a Kustom force field. (meaning it will only take 1 Sp of damage on a Destroyed – Wrecked or Destroyed – Explodes until it suffers a second Destroyed result, in which it will be destroyed normally.)
May Take any weapon options the Dakkanought could originally take, except additional DCCWs.
May Deep Strike for 50 Points.
May take the Venerable rule for 20 Points.

And with that, my dear comerades, my section is complete - until someone tells me something is OP, that is. I'll probably get on to writing some fluff, or there may be another Codex calling.
Automatically Appended Next Post: No love for the codex anymore?
Not that much going on here anymore is there? Everything looks good anyway. The trollbaiter looks like the only thing that could potentially be OP, but since the trolls it generates are pretty weak it doesn't seem too bad.
I think the CRASSUS ARMOURED ASSAULT TRANSPORT should be allowed to take units with jump pakcs or bikes but they take up more space
E.g. Jump/jet packs take up 2 spaces rather than 1.
Bikes take up 3 spaces rather than 1.

Yep, that'll work.
And maybe walkers taking up 4-5 spaces?
So yes, common standard base models start at 1, become 2 when adding a jumppack. Mounted troops and beasts are 3, whilst infantry on 40mm bases for example is 2. MC and Walkers are 10. Thus the Dakka Dakka enhanced ride, aka CRASSUS ARMOURED ASSAULT TRANSPORT, may carry almost everything we created as units in the codex.

Yes, Guardsmen could work, but we also have JI, dreadnought-esque vehicles, xenos weapons, etc.
Oh another rule for fun: If you're a unit in the codex, you MUST take yourself, because we all know how narcissistic we all are
As I said, I'll try and get a game in too. we should probably report back on what seems OP/UP too. Things can look good on paper, but be terrible in game (Punisher anyone?)

I'm in a CRASSUS ARMOURED ASSAULT TRANSPORT...
Can anyone playtesting posts your lists each time you play a game?
Just so we can have a looksie at what and what isn't good and see whether that's because of other units or just because it's crap...

Pasafist:
Seanaust may only attack tanks. Against walkers he counts as having weapon skill 3. If in assult with any other unit he may not strike blows.
Just as planed....
Before the game begins, you may select one friendly, non vehicle unit. This may have any generic special rule listed in the warhammer 40k rule book with the exeption of scouts and infiltrate. Each game turn roll a d6 if the die shows a number under the turn number the special rule is lost. On turn 7 the unit automaticlly loses the chosen rule (if it hasn't already) and gains the Fearless, Furious Charge, and Counter Attack special rules as they attempt a death or glory attack.
Automatically Appended Next Post: The above should have:
Options:
One Thunderpony may be upgraded to a Thunderunicorn for +30pts. It is a psyker with mastery level 2. It has the power 'Welcome to the Herd' and one Dakka Psychic power as available to the Fluff Lord.
Welcome to the Herd: (May be cast at any time during the Thunderunicorn's turn) Take a psychic test. If successful, place a small blast template on the Thunderunicorn. Any enemy model under it takes a leadership test. If failed, they are controlled by the controller of the Thunderunicorn for the remainder of the turn and the subsequent enemy turn, and are treated as being in the same unit as the Thunderunicorn. If passed, nothing happens. If a model affected by this power is Fearless, the lose one attack and one initiative for the rest of the turn.
Any number of Thunderponies may exchange their Hooves (for kicking people) for Diamond Horseshoes for +20pts (power weapon, +2S, -1I)
Any number of Thunderponies may take SPESS PONY armour for +10pts (3+ armour save)
Special Rules:
Thunderpony cavalry can only be taken if the army already contains at least one Brony.
Ten Seconds Flat: Thunderponies and thunderunicorns are fleet, have Furious charge, and are not slowed by difficult terrain.
Durza may be taken in the Thunderpony cavalry for his normal points cost, in which case he gains the Ten Seconds Flat rule, is treated as cavalry, and all his bonuses which apply to Bronies are instead applied to Thunderponies and Thunderunicorns. (There can still only be one Thunderunicorn in the unit though.)
liquidjoshi wrote:Fast attack I presume? We do need units for FA...
Need? so FA is still open....
Can we sort it, I mean clean up what we have and what we don't?
Once Durza was a wargamer like us, now corrupted by ponies.. I think i have to put this pony-tar of him on my block list , too. Wouldn't trust these beasts, first they are all cute and then.....
As for FA... well, I don't know if it's open or not. One more entry can't hurt. Otherwise, I'd say we need to put an official statement saying the codex is now closed for entries. Then, it;s onto play testing, fluff, etc.
liquidjoshi wrote:Nothing wrong with the ponies 1hadhq.
Sure...
*void shields up*
ok. So we might have some or all entries. Would help if our OP ended the silence he wrapped himself in.
Because, basically you seem to miss one or two things in FA and maybe others share that feeling ( which isn't a sinking or rising one! ).
Thus I may suggest again to list FA and discuss what is and isn't there.
IMO:
Fast assault contains any fast support unit, like bikes and speeders, cavalry and fast vehicles. Plus JI and beasts.
It may or may not provide units with a greater range than usual and tends to either:
- deliver focused hits to take things out quickly
- get ASAP in HtH.
I remember we got JI and cavalry ( now? ). Have to go back a few pages to find the rest.
Yes, I'd agree with your definition of FA. As I recall, DreadlordME! had the FA section last. I thought we were lacking units there, though I could have been wrong.
It would be nice to see Vampirate here again, hopefully with fluff for our great and mighty codex. We don;t have bikes aside from Veteran gamers IIRC, so cavalry fills a hole I think (again, might be wrong).
Yeah, they were meant to be fast attack. Though I put it in somewhere. Oh well. I was a bit unsure about the points cost. Originally I had them at thirty each.
I don't get the whole pony hate thing. I mean, it was understandable in the first few months when they were everywhere (I was pretty annoyed about them at that stage too) but now it's pretty much subsided. In fact, the only time I really see pony images around here are in avatars or when someone says they hope that they don't pop up. Which is pretty much an invitation.
As a side note, Dakka has the top three search results for 'Thunderpony cavalry'.
DreadlordME! wrote:Is this thread dying. WHERES THE COODDDDEEEEXXXX!
yea, this
Incomplete armylist + no fluff = no codex.
Someone should keep up the pace and not slow down. What you see here is a good example of a great start hitting the brakes as it took too long to complete things and those not answering requests to move on shall blame themselves.
IIRC we don't have any playtest reported. The background is nearly non-existant and the attention span seems to short more often than not.
Its really sad we can't get this done.

Just wondering.

heh heh heh.
Look around. There's a whole entry dedicated to them.
Well the playtesting still needs to be done. Fluff could even be written by the playtesters if anything performs admirably while doing it, then submitted for review by the fluff-writer supreme.
Durza wrote:Well the playtesting still needs to be done. Fluff could even be written by the playtesters if anything performs admirably while doing it, then submitted for review by the fluff-writer supreme.
Is there already a pdf up? I think having all the rules together in one place will encourage more play testers, since its a bit impossible to find all the entries right now.

None that I've seen. There's a compilation post for HQ and Elites, but that's about it I think.
Farily sure I said something along the lines of "I cann'y do it cap'n! I haven't got the time!/ facilities to make PDFs!" several times, and asked for someone to pick it up. At any rate, we still haven't seen fluff or play tests yet.
Joshi, I would be using openoffice.. it's practically microsoft word but simpler, though it can save things as PDFs. I believe you can get it free, so you should search around the net. If you can't get it, then I'll help make a PDF at some point, though my time to devote to this will likely be quite limited.
Ok, I had a shot at it, and I think I got most of the entries. I'll attach the original word doc as well, just in case you want to make any additions or edit it (you'll want to, its very messy) Have fun.
If you want to make a pdf with word, you can just save the file as pdf. Of course, this is with Word 2010, so I don't know if it'll work with all versions :/.

Sorry, I didn't see your entry As I said, I think I got most of it.
If you wish to add yourself to the pdf, you may download the doc that I attached and make the addition.
I may then convert it to a pdf, if you can't do it yourself.
Everytime I try to post a, oh yea the codex is up in PDF form sweeeeet!!!!!!!!1
My internet cuts off.
How'd you get it in PDF by the way, when I try to export my Dwellar Codex as a PDF it always comes up with an error. I even downloaded a tool it still didn't work.
Anyways, this, is, awesome!

Kinda late bro. Master of Ordinance, IDK if we'll put you in, probably as you submitted earlier in the thread.
But You're a confusing beast. Are you CC, a tank commander, what? Also, the Obsidian sword seems too convoluted, and you'd only get the benefits of either the hammer or the sword in each assault phase.
I'd say either a tank commander chronus or pask style, or a CC dude (although we have quite a few of those already). Both just seems to be OTT.

Can you repost it so I may add it?
Purplefood says he's unable to repost it right now, he'll get back to you on sunday.
Purplefood. IC / unique
4 5 4 4 2 4 2 4+ scout armor, autogun, CCW.
Crew upgrade of a CRASSUS ARMOuRED ASSAULT TRANSPORT for + 50 pts
Special rules:
a) No glory, only death!
> any unit attempting a Death or glory reaction suffers from its inevitable doom as nothing can stop a CAAT driven by Purplefood.
- models are removed without any save possible. Its their own fault as the awesomeness is obvious and they should know better.
b) unstoppable advance
> any unfriendly unit in 12" with line of sight to, or subject themselves to, a tankshock/ramming action performed by a CAAT driven by Purplefood tests instantly on their LD with a malus of - 1 pro each already squished model this game. If this reduces the LD stat to 0 or under, the unit automatically flees from the table and gone insane cannot rally.
c) to inspire is to distract....
> any friendly unit with line of sight to the purplefood driven CAAT may roll a d6 whenever he squishes a opposing models asunder.
On a 3+ they may act normally, failing that, they are to distracted cheering him on and thus forfeit their movement in this phase.
d) his drivers license is limited to CAAT:
> purplefood may disembark if he chooses to, but is restricted to drive CAAT and may not take over anything than another CAAT.

I think this thread as far as entries goes needs to be locked. Communication should pass between those interested in the final formatting of the codex.
Just chiming in, I've read the codex over a few times..
Gonna keep it brief until I have time for a more in-depth write up.
I get that this codex is all a bit of silly fun but some of the stuff in there is just ridiculous. I'd prefer a codex that was actually balanced and reasonable for normal play, rather than all the silliness and wishlisting we have rolled into one.
So, the revised codex Dakkadakka? Sounds good to me. We'll take it in for moderating (but then, i thought OP ideas were meant to be eliminated by those looking at the entries, save for apoc style things (E.G. Legoburner))
Just wondering, do we have a videogamer dakkanaut profile/rules already?
Anyway, I have an upgrade for haters
