Are those some new guardsmen type units? Would be really cool if there is a classic Cadian type, to go along with some of the other plastics that have been released.
As luck would have it have just painted up some of the 3mm dudes, got a free little sprue of the guys in with a recent order. Hopefully this will give some idea of scale (hint: they are tiny!)
There are some delays in Vanguard's upcoming crowdfunding campaign as you can read here. For the more perceptive ones of you, there is some more new stuff to be found in that link...
Automatically Appended Next Post: Oh, here's a scale shot of a 3mm and 6mm super heavy tank of the same type next to one another:
In order to ensure this campaign runs smoothly, Vanguard are teaming up with collaborators Troublemaker Games to help run this campaign, as having run five successful Indiegogo Crowdfunders they're pretty good at knowing how this button-pushing bippety-boopety computers lark is supposed to work.
What We Need & What You Get
Our 6mm scale models in this funding campaign are intended to reinforce our Defeat In Detail range of models, by adding more models to the existing ranges.
As we cross stretch goals, we'll be unlocking more models, some of which can be seen in silhouette below...
We have many designs already sculpted, and without a crowdfunding campaign it would be another year or even two before we could afford to put them all into production, so your interest and support at this stage means we can put out more metal models at a much faster rate than would otherwise be possible.
The Models
All of the models in this campaign are to be METAL models, unless otherwise stated.
Most of the models have already been Matter Printed and are awaiting a trip to the casting foundry, whilst other models only exist as-yet in CAD form - your support now will ensure they become real tiny toy fighty models!
Can't direct link to the pictures of the campaign itself since IndieGoGo doesn't let me...
Cant give you any specifics on the bulk stuff. I think that's a matter of convincing John of Vanguard Miniatures. Try to reach him on the Tactical Command forum or try it through Vanguard's Facebook page.
As for further updates, I guess more stretch goals will be added depending on the success of the campaign.
If anyone does need to speak to John just drop him a message through the Facebook page.
He's a great guy and loves talking to people and sharing ideas.
Between that and the quality of the models shows just why it's a solid company he's building up.
I'm hoping for the 6mm 'basic sci-fi infantry' guys to be revealed at some point, definitely think there is a market there for the non-themed human infantry, the old GW Imperial Guard infantry reach quite ludicrous sums of money on ebay these days!
New multi pack deals added
Hi backers many thanks for your fantastic show of support so far, this first update is to direct your attention to the new multi pack deals added to the campaign this evening. These have been added due to requests from various sources and we hope to add more such deals as the campaign progresses. Please let us know if there is any particular combinations you'd like to see and we will consider adding them to the campaign. Once again thanks for the support everyone really appreciated.
Some more details on release of certain miniatures at pledge amounts.
Bit of a catch-22 here as I'm sure a load of people will want those Novan regular urban infantry, but it's going to be a struggle reaching that figure (over Xmas especially) without them being on sale!
A small update.
Hi backers many thanks to you all for a fantastic show of support so far over 60% funded already great stuff. I've added the stretch goals funding pathway to the campaign page now repeated here for your convenience cheers.
Backers' Rewards:
For every £200 you spend we will give you £20 of credit to spend either on further models from this campaign, or models from the Vanguard Miniatures website.
Stretch goals funding path:
£2700 Tribune heavy tanks (Achilles and Turnus) variants released.
£3000 Novan regulars urban infantry released.
£3300 Novan regulars urban infantry specialist set released.
£3500 Skinnerz tractor Vector and Elites Gladiator walker Mk2 released.
£3700 Female political officers released.
£3900 Tainted Rampager light tank released.
£4000+ Further stretch goals will be added.
Thanks for sharing! I've got a feeling that there aren't any perks yet for £200 yet, unless you want to have tons and tons of models (wait, am I actually complaining that the miniatures are too cheap?)
Yes perhaps some kind of sale at £100 spent might have been an idea.
I've ordered some of the tainted troops which look absolutely brilliant. There are some regular tainted infantry as well which would go well with them. Now just need to try and search down some suitable proxies for daemon-type miniatures!
I backed for some of those Sparta APCs. I gotta say I'm not a fan of the way IndieGoGo charges you shipping on every single thing. It's a shame this wasn't on Kickstarter, at least it's easier to manage your pledge over there (and easily pledge for multiple items). As it is I kinda want some of those ork stormboys, but I don't really want to pay double shipping for it. I'd be better off waiting for the campaign to end and throwing them onto a bulk order later.
New perks added.

Absolutely love the Nova regulars - nicely detailed and proportioned, think those will look good in Necromundian regiment colours
The army deal constitutes a fairly good saving as well.

That's a common criticism of how Indigogo works unfortunately. I'm not sure of any way around it, unless what you want turns up in a combined pledge (as with the tainted and novan regular army sets for instance).
The creator on another forum said there was some account of this made with the pricing, and it's a way to help fund the sculpts/projects.
Also please note that my crowdfunding campaign is still ongoing and we are almost at the initial funding level, many thanks to those here who have supported me in this venture so far greatly appreciated, link below.
Actually always much preferred Squats in 6mm. Thought the scale works much better for their warmachines and big guns.
I would love to see some kind of Colossus (or even a Capital Imperialis), it's nuts how much those go for on ebay when they do occasionally turn up on ebay.

John should perhaps have a chat with Gregster's Lab about stocking their warmachines...
By the way, we're almost at our goal for the crowdfunder...just a bit more and then it's time for stretch goals!

Wasn't there also a small scale Void Game coming, Age of Empires I think?
That might be a natural addition to Vanguard's catalog.
Well, Vanguard has slowly been expanding its ship scale range. More of my escort sized designs have been submitted for printing and casting. Your commission is also slowly getting there. So yeah...that's happening.
By the way, on the crowdfunder front: we're literally £2 short of meeting our initial goal. Come on, don't we all want stretch goals?

I was not aware of those - thanks a lot for the link!
With stretch goal two reached i've now added the Eloi Phase walkers to the perks list, the Gladiator walkers will join them as soon as images can be prepared and i'll also be adding another Tribune heavy tank deal to the campaign too.
Thanks again for the continued support expect another update very soon.
Cheers John

Well we have certainly been knocking the stretch goals down like nine pins this last week with yet another achieved today, therefore I have opened up the Decimator tanks baby brother the Rampager light tank for pledges.
Many thanks indeed for the fantastic support especially at this time of year when money is tight really appreciated.
We are currently working on a few additional models for the campaign more news on this as things develop cheers John
Due to several requests I have created a Tainted Wheels of Death tank set, this set consists of 1 x Decimator super heavy and 4 x Rampager light tanks.
Also please note that the Tainted army deal #1 has been change to an infantry only set. Another update soon cheers John.
Some teaser shots:
Charon anti ground-attach fighter:
Skinnerz support weapons:
We've also gotten some requests regarding the size of the Tainted Rampager Light Tank. It's diamater is about 18mm. Here it is next to the Centurion Battle Tank:
Once again we have hit another stretch goal this time the Tainted Heavy Elites Command figures now ready for pledges. I really cannot thank you all enough for your continuing support i'm really grateful to all concerned.
I have posted a few possible new stretch goals at the bottom of the main page for your viewing pleasure please don't be afraid to supply feedback as we need to know if we are creating the kind of models you guys/gals need.
Thanks to a bunch of pledges over night we have hit the next stretch goal sooner than expected.
The skinnerz field gun perk will be released once the set contents have been finalised these models are not quite ready yet I did not anticipate reaching this goal so soon. We will get them up as soon as humanly possible many thanks for your continued support and patience.
I anticipate this perk being available by mid week at the latest once Ben has finished sculpting work.
We are looking at adding more arm choices for the Hierarch figure and a quad rider to the Urban specialists set, to be confirmed.
I have now released the latest stretch goal perk this time the Skinnerz Gobblers Light Field Artillery set towed. There is a single and triple set option available.
Thanks again for backing my campaign Regards John
New campaign perk available.
Gobblers Light Field Guns Set
Skinnerz utilise a wide variety of light artillery pieces to support their armies, these are commonly towed by fast tractors enabling them to be rapidly deployed on the battlefield.
Each Gobblers light artillery set contains, 4 x Tractor Vectors, 4 x Field Pieces (1 of each ) and 20 x Gobblers crew figures (2 sets of 10).
Note that there is still some detail work to do on these yet and the rocket model will be a separate item.
Once again we have hit a stretch goal before it's ready to release, you guys/gals are funding faster than we can finish new perks. Your support has been outstanding thank you all very much.
The Charon fighter stretch goal is now ready for pledges, also note that you can pledge for a mixed squadron deal consisting of four of each Tainted aircraft should you wish.
We do not foresee enough time for further new perks but do intend to create upgrades as it where for existing sets should funding merit it, for example the urban quad bike rider would be added to the urban specialist set and we are looking at more arm options for the Tainted Hierarch figure.
It has taken a while and much effort from Ben the designer to bring you the latest perk which is now ready for pledges. The Skinnerz heavy artillery set consisting of three different towed ordinance pieces to support your Skinnerz army.
I must thank you all once again for your continued pledges really appreciated people thank you so much.
Should funding allow we hope to create individual limbers for each weapon and if possible a crew set may be added as well.
Just a quick post to thank you all for the overwhelming show of support for this campaign, over 300% funded i'm truly stunned especially considering the financial restraints of this time of year.
We are now looking to upgrade the odd set or two with additional minis should funding continue to rise. First up will be a quad bike rider for the urban specialists set, second would be an extra set of arm options for the tainted hierarch figure, this will happen at 8.5k. Also planned will be a crew set for the skinnerz heavy artillery models with perhaps a few detail tweaks here and there as well at 9k. All these will be included with existing pledges.
Should we reach 9.5k of funding I will be offering a set of three or four backers exclusive character figures absolutely free to all supporters of the campaign. Planned are character leaders for the Urban regulars, Tainted Elites and Skinnerz drop troops sets.
It just remains for me to thank you all once again for the fantastic level of support really appreciated people. Here's to the next already at planning stage campaign.
Campaign Over, now the work begins!
Hello Backers!
I'd just like to say thankyou on behalf of John and his sculpting team for the huge support shown for this campaign, over £10k now!
We've elected to use the "InDemand" function on the campaign to keep it open for any last minute top up pledges for the next week.
The current plan is that, due to the unexpectedly huge amount of support shown for the campaign, dispatches will be sent in March rather than the originally planned February.
Pacific wrote: Really cool - I love the little dude on the buggy/fork-lift vehicle!
Do you know when the web store is likely to start selling these?
Don't know yet, I assume they'll be delivered to the supporters of the campaign first, which is in the coming weeks. After that they'll be released publicly.
In the meantime...
Vanguard Miniatures' 3mm range has been expanding.
The centurion main battle tank is the most common tank used by Novan regular forces in the field a rugged and heavily armoured design it has been built to be a reliable and easy to operate vehicle capable of going long periods of time between maintenance cycles making it the perfect machine to equip Tusculum Nova’s armoured divisions.
The designs has seen many weapon fits over the years but this variant the (Achilles configuration) boasts a long range version of the standard tank cannon in the turret backed up by a fixed forward hull mounted laser cannon. In addition the hull sides can be configured to mount a sponson weapon most commonly a HMG for close in anti personnel protection.
Pack contains 3 x centurion tanks Achilles configuration with modelling options.
And I'm pretty sure they're the same size the plastic ones from BFG, they fit perfectly on the transports I bought which does not seem like a coincidence.
Quick update, the final set of prints have arrived been cleaned up and will ship to the casters this week, that took longer than expected but that is the nature of the beast I suppose. Casting has begun with the first print batch moulds, and batch two mould making is in progress, the images below show the batch three prints shipping this week.
As can be seen we now have two variant Hierarch's in the tainted command set and I decided that the Skinnerz tractor needed an engine boost plug in in order to tow those heavy arty carriages and we have a portable generator option too all added to pledges for free.
Once again - an astounding level of details, those tainted command look amazing.
The issue of the ork vehicle only being a 6-cylinder has already come up on another forum as being lore-breaking (orks not running a V8 potentially turning the lore upside down in a way not seen since they started growing from mushrooms)
Apparently there is a flat 4 cylinder in the main unit to compensate, which has eased some of the concern
Coming Soon from TMG, to our retail partners at Vanguard Miniatures, the Entomorph Broodmother - a massive(ish) 12cm long model kit, that comes with a variety of optional biological weapon arms.
Thought you all may enjoy the odd picture as I build some of the campaign pieces, these are the first of these models ever built outside of a computer.
So we have the Tainted wheels of death set consisting of the Decimator super heavy tank escorted by four Rampager light tanks, oh look at the baby ones so cute, also had time to clean up a couple of redeemers as well.
It may help to know that he Redeemers and Rampagers are on 25mm round bases and the Decimator is on a 40mm square base for gauging relative size. Not the best pictures but light has been poor today.
More images as an when I have time to build stuff.
Something for you 15mm Skinnerz collectors this evening, the first of two variants of resin truck to ferry your warbands around in. If these are popular we hope to add even more variants later, the model has been designed to be modular with expansion in mind.
The Gobblers field guns will also fit in the back quite nicely too.
15mm Skinnerz Wheeled Truck - £7.50
A resin cast multi part 15mm kit for the Skinnerz with 2 x random driver figures.
- Transmission received - Felis "Dark Eye" confirms reports of a massive build up of Helian fleet assets in system - at least 60 cruiser class vessels with attendant escorts confirmed -
Released this evening and in strictly limited numbers this collectors model from Wasteland Game Studio is a multi-part resin cast model, all are individually numbered by the designer, such a nice model and i'm happy to report that my Shielder anti-air and Rapier missile platforms sit on those towers quite nicely.
High Gothic Flak Tower
High Gothic Flak Tower - £38.00
The massive bastions known as Flak Towers loom over the cities of the Empire. A fortress against both air and ground attack, each Flak Tower is a powerful bulwark against any invading enemy as well as a grim reminder of the Empire’s power over its citizens.
This detailed multi-part building kit is suitable for wargames in 6-10mm scale. Supplied unassembled and unpainted.
– High quality pressure-cast polyurethane resin
– Designed for easy assembly
– Part Count: 10
– Finished building footprint: 160mm x 160mm
– Finished building height: 85mm
Wasteland Game Studios products are intended for the mature hobbyist and are not suitable for children under 12.
Lovely looking piece of terrain, can see that making a nice centrepiece. However it is a little on the pricey side - is it a block of solid resin I take it?
I'm increasingly looking at some of the 3D printed terrain from the 'Bay, which you can tend to get for a lot cheaper.
I have had several requests to release this model despite the minor wing fit problem previously noted so here it is the Novan fast cruiser is released today. Please read the stores model info before deciding on purchase cheers.
Novan Fast Cruiser - £8.00
A multi part full resin cast model of the Novan Fast Cruiser.
Please note that this model has minor fit issues with the wings which is why i’m selling them cheaper than would normally be the case. Customers have requested release of this model regardless of this problem so I have done so. If you look at the gallery images of the ship you can see what the problem is and make up your own mind if you want to purchase or not, really you just need to trim/file the wings to sit better in the recesses and tidy up with green stuff if you wish.
Approximate model dimensions, Length: 85mm Wingspan: 41mm
Awesome stuff! Thank you so much for making these models possible by the way. Any luck convincing John and Ben to expand upon them (as in escorts and bigger stuff)? ;-)
Is that the plastic kit that was on Kickstarter? When does it hit retail?
However, I would also like some 3mm straight, symmetrical pieces. One can never have enough gothic spaceship dressing.
That fast cruiser looks like a must buy! How are stock levels? Would I be able to wait for the 6mm gothic terrain and still be able to buy the cruiser in the same order?

The plastic kit from the crowdfunder campaign will be available for general retail soon, can't give you a clear ETA yet.

There are currently still 17 kits in stock. I think waiting a bit wouldn't be impossible (would save you some shipping costs I assume), kinda depends on (a) how fast this stock would run out and (b) how fast the caster could resupply if that were the case.
Malika2 wrote: Awesome stuff! Thank you so much for making these models possible by the way. Any luck convincing John and Ben to expand upon them (as in escorts and bigger stuff)? ;-)
I think it will depend how it sells. It's a bit of departure from the flying cathedrals of their existing Helios and Gothic Spaceship lines.
No shortage of ideas, just whether the market will support them.
The Novan Elites Guardian tank now comes with a new turret. In case you prefer the previous version, it's still available.
Novan Elites Guardian Tank Auto-cannon Turret - £10.00
The Elites Guardian tank is yet another product of Tusculum Nova’s most advanced research and development program to equip it’s Elite forces with the most powerful weapons and equipment that can be provided. Guardian’s are intended to act as front line main battle tanks a roll originally filled by the older Scorpion designs which have now been relegated to a supporting roll for the mechanised squadrons. The hull bears a similar appearance to the Mauler assault transport and was developed alongside that vehicle. Although smaller than the mauler it is none the less a very potent design heavily armed and armoured with an impressive turn of speed .
This particular variant of the Guardian utilises the latest turret design commonly found on many new production run Trojan IFV’s with in this case a twin 30mm auto-cannon mounted to either side of the commanders hatch with both anti-personnel and anti-armour capability, cheaper and easier to produce and maintain than the Guardians railgun system this configuration has found favour with many Elite forces and has even been retrofitted to damaged vehicles in the field.
Two sponson mounting points are also available these can be fitted with several weapon options with either the standard laser cannon or heavy machinegun being the most common choices and there is also a permanant forward hull MG fitted as standard.
In the guardian elite forces have a highly versatile and potent battle tank able to survive in the deadliest of warzones.
This pack contains 3 x guardian main battle tanks.
Model dimensions are: 30mm long, 22mm wide not including sponsons, 15mm high to top of turret.
We've been experimenting with epic's somewhat loose scale - with things like cities and towns being slightly smaller than the infantry - kind of gives something halfway between proper terrain and the whole operation Overlord style pushing representative units across a huge map.
Be really curious to see what the 6mm guys next to the 3mm installation look like.
Great to see these kits go on sale in the store at last, think they look great and a cheap way of populating a table with terrain that doesn't involve eBay.
Kid_Kyoto wrote: That industrial sector looks neutral enough to be 28mm scale walls for a spaceship/factory/maze type board. And 40 panels for 20UKP is really good
Yes, I'd say that the industrial wall panels would work fine at 28mm, and you could just use the flip sides of the hab tiles (which show industrial roof type details) to keep the scale okay.
Just got an order of some of the 3mm resin terrain in. It is bigger than I thought it was based upon the pictures. Pretty big chunk of resin for the price and nice detail as well.
In relation to the plastic tiles, I think they can fit 28mm. Here is a picture I took of an Ash Nomad next to some:
Kid_Kyoto wrote: Thanks, other than the ladder there's really nothing there to give away scale.
How well do they fit together?
Side by side they don't as the pieces end in a wedge shape, at ninety degrees the fit is excellent and the pieces have a small indentation/protuberance that line up very well.

It's worth noting that you can use one of the gothic details pieces (eg the parapet, or the bridge underside piece, etc) as bracers between the two tiles, and that'd let you place tiles side-by-side seamlessly, and also hold it balanced so it could stand upright as a freestanding wall if you didn't want to make a complete structure...
Novan Elites Guardian Tank Auto-cannon Turret - £10.00
Sorry to interrupt the terrain discussion, but ... (yeah, I'm gonna do it anyway ): Malika2 - that is some serious "space" around the front "insert thing" ... I'm not sure how I'd approach that? GS? Not criticizing ... just want to know how best to get it all seamless ...
A little update to keep you all informed on just what's happening.
Good news, I have received this week another batch of campaign casts with more to follow by the end of next week. I will be checking over all this mountain of casts and separating them into individual pledges ASAP.
Bad news, there have been some issues with a lot of the infantry casts so in order to get the best casts possible to you all I have been working on correcting the problems this week and have just shipped the figures back to the casters for moulding. This obviously means that these figure sets will be further delayed with late May sometime as the best estimate for delivery to me I can give at present.
The following sets will be delayed, Tainted command, Tainted heavy armour, both Urban regulars sets, Skinnerz artillery crews, Eloi Phase walkers and female commissars.
So what I intend to do as far as practicable is ship out all pledges with what models I have available and send the delayed infantry sets in a second shipping wave once they are in. Obviously this is not ideal but at least you guys will be getting the majority of your orders and I clear a load of castings I have lying around here. Costly for me to do it this way but I hate to keep people waiting.

It's about 0.2mm all round. Shouldn't be noticeable if it isn't zoomed in. Should just look like a panel line.
Another plastic set from Troublemaker Games released tonight this time with the addition of resin cast domes. The Basilica Minoris, I only have a few sets at present but more will follow as soon as possible.
Domed Gothic Basilica Minoris Set - £14.00
A plastic tiles and resin domed roof set consisting of the following:
2 x resin domes
4 x gothic buildings sprues (16 x panels, 8 x buttresses)

I've got a feeling that the more industrial looking terrain would be ideal for 15mm gaming. The more gothic stuff could work in all sorts of scales...it would be really gigantic next to 3mm armies.
Thought i'd post up some pictures of the latest castings that have come in I will be sorting over these and bagging up as normal over the coming week, hope to see the last of the outstanding castings arriving within the next two weeks fingers crossed.
Currently have 25 more pledges ready to ship by weeks end with more to follow the week after with luck. The desire is to be able to complete all orders by the end of May.
So pictures here we have the Urban regulars sets which we have converted to single sided sprues which has resulted in excellent casts, it's the way forward for sure. Also the female political officers, Eloi Phase Walkers and Tainted aircraft for your viewing pleasure.
My package arrived surprisingly quickly. Everything was well packed and the castings look perfect. I'll certainly come back and buy more of your excellent ships.
I do have some questions, though.
1. I believe Battlegroup Helios sculpted another faction of ships. Do you have any plans to sell them?
2. Is there a bulk deal available for the Helios weapon packs? Perhaps 3 sets for 10 pounds or something like that?
3. Will there be any more 3mm terrain that will be symmetric, allowing for possible starship or space station conversions?
Each Novan Elites Mk2 Gladiators set contains 6 x Mk 2 Gladiators with three leg poses, 2 x of each weapon arm (16 x weapons, total), and 4 x Dorsal Missile Pods.
3mm Cybershadow Jaeger War Stalker Interaction (W4) - £14.00
Cybershadow forces use War Stalkers as a core part of their combat forces.
The Jaeger medium class war stalkers operate in hunting teams of two or more machines their primary function the destruction of enemy war engines. Jaegers sport heavy armour and shields to their front and are much faster and more manoeuvrable than the more common Dreadnought design but have sacrificed rear protection and firepower to achieve this agility.
Cybershadows War Stalkers are 30mm tall to the cockpit window (they’d be a little taller if they stood up straight).
Skinnerz armies often make use of horde style attacks, favouring massed waves of light infantry and vehicles over fewer, higher quality units.
Skinnerz light tanks are superb when employed in this role, each being lightly armed and armoured, but cheap to construct and quick to repair.
Skinnerz Tanks are metal models approximately 1.5cm long depending on the sculpt, and come in 4 hull and 4 turret sculpts, which can be combined in 16 different combinations.
Operating on the fringes of Novan space these renegade Elites of a fallen great house have turned to piracy and raiding to survive. Alongside the remaining regular human forces from the same house and various allies of unknown origin these so called Tainted are becoming an existential threat to the Novan Hegemony.
Set contains 40 x Tainted Elites Affray miniatures.
A variant of the Hecate interceptor the Charon has been designed as a light ground attack aircraft capable of rapid response and with a surprising amount of firepower for it’s size.
Set contains 2 x Charon fighters and 2 x plastic flight bases.
And then the release of a new Novan sub-faction, the Convent.
The Novan Convents are often believed by outsiders to engage in the forbidden arts known as “Religion”, but in truth they are merely appropriators of ancient titles and attitudes, using the rituals and practices of the mystics of old Earth to hone their minds and bodies into facilitators of Saullo’s Justice.
A combination of capable army and secret police, the Convents are fearsome opponents.
Female Political Officers - £2.00
Novan Female Political Officers
Each Novan Female Political Officers set contains 10 x infantry models, 2 of each sculpt.
It is unknown as to whether the pilots of the mechs known as “Redeemers” are in conscious control of the vehicles they ride to war, or if they are criminals sentenced to a fatal destiny by the harsh order of Saullo’s covert lawgivers.
Have got some of the tainted elite from the previous crowdfunding and can confirm that they are wonderful little sculpts! Really characterful, it's incredible how much detail has been squeezed in at that scale.
Reinforcements for the Novan forces this time in the form of the Sparta light APC utilised by both Convent and Elites forces. Also Novan Pathfinder recon teams join the ranks of the Elites.
Novan Sparta APC’s - £8.00
Next to a Novan Elites Trojan:

Novan Sparta APC
The Sparta is a light APC originally developed for Convent forces but it has also found favour and been adapted by some houses for use with Novan Elites Pathfinders teams who find it’s small size and silenced stealth engines ideal for battlefield recon duties.
Each set of Novan Sparta vehicles contains 4 x Spartas, 4 x double sided rear hatches, plain on one side, fleur-de-lys on the other.
Model approx. dimensions: length 26mm, width 16mm, height 9mm
Due to continued issues with the winter castings I've commissioned a revamp of the entire line starting with the rifle troops which have been updated and strengthened these will be off to the casters this coming week ETA on back in store would be 4 to 6 weeks depending on how busy the casters are. New winter rifles prints below.
Next will be the specialists set and then the Grenadiers and Cavalry, after that I've an idea to add a new edition to the range.
The “Firestorm” variant of the churchillian tank has been specially modified to bring cascades of flaming napalyde raining down upon the enemies of the Commonwealth.
Each Novan Firestorm set contains 3 x multi-part Novan Firestorm tank model kits.
Here is a space station I made out of Vanguard's (or Troublemaker's?) plastic terrain. It's a small station that was very easy to construct, althoug it took me a while to bling it out a bit. The statues are from the plastic 6mm troops sprue also sold by Vanguard, because I felt I should use as many parts from the same manufacturer as possible...for some reason.
I have a larger Venguard terrain space station in the works, but it will require some more bits collecting before I can complete it. If interested, I can show some of the chassis.
I don't mind at all. I would love to see what less lazy modelers than myself come up with.
And thanks!

The 3mm terrain stuff is going to be in my next order for sure, as well as the dome terrain set. Unfortunately, the Battlegroup Helios weapons batteries are just a little bit too pricey for me to buy in the numbers I'd want for a station.
Kid_Kyoto wrote: Bit off topic but the Dropfleet space station is full to the brim with towers and turrets.
Indeed. That is my favorite kit for spaceship kitbashing. I'll have to buy another one soon.
I didn't use it here because a) I used most of mine up already, and b) Most of the station bits have a style more consistent with Tau ships than Imperial in my opinion. Antennae and turrets are useful, though.
Oh, and I wouldn't say it's stuffed with turrets. It has some great turrets, but not enough for a large station or battlecruiser covered with lance batteries. But that is a problem easily rectified with some 1/700 ship ordnance kits.
To take this full circle, Vanguard sells some of their 6mm turrets seperately if you want to make a 6mm fortress or have some HUGE cannons on your spaceship/station.

That is beautiful!
Can I put it up on the Troublemaker Games Facebook page as an example of something super creative? :-)
I reckon the Mauler add-ons wouldn't be too out-of-scale for spaceship turrets. Or at least for a space station.
Those are the first ones Kid Kyoto posted.
The regular tank turrets are probably too big, but the Mauler stuff is all sponsons and ... how to say it ... roof-mounted ordinance?
Consider factory station "Room 101" in Asher's Polityverse is 80 miles long, 50 deep and 30 high... (IIRC)

Sure. I'll try to take better pictures of it after I paint it up.

Now I guess I'd better. Spray and drybrush counts as painting still, right?

In the meantime...
The Novan Regulars Tribune Heavy Tanks are out!
Novan Regulars Tribune Heavy Tank (Hector) - £6.50
Novan Tribune (Hector Variant)
Novan Regulars field various configurations of Tribune Heavy Tank; The most commonly found among the ranks of the Novan hegemony are the Hector Variant. Festooned with multiple cannons and anti-personnel heavy machineguns, they are a fearsome all-round vehicle, capable of taking on both enemy tanks and infantry mobs with confidence.
Novan Regular Tribune Heavy Tank (Achilles) - £6.50
Novan Tribune (Achilles)
The Achilles variant of the Tribune tank replaces the standard tanks twin cannon in the turret with two long barrelled anti-tank cannon, designed to engage enemy armour at extreme range they have proven most effective in this roll. Used primarily on the flanks of and armoured attack it is not uncommon however to also see them leading spearhead formations in the shock assault roll.
Novan Regulars Tribune Heavy Tank (Turnus) - £6.50
Novan Tribune (Turnus)
The Turnus yet another variant of the Tribune heavy tank this particular version has been created to address the infantry and light vehicle wave tactics often preferred by Skinnerz armies. The turret contains two large calibre heavy rotary cannon that can spew out a prodigious amount of fire power, devastating to even the most heavily armoured infantry and shredding light vehicles with ease.
Less common than the Skinnerz field artillery are these heavy ordinance pieces deployed mostly in support of major assault operations on enemy cities, they can also be found defending Skinnerz military bases and installations.
Each Skinnerz heavy artillery set contains:
3 x Tractor Vectors
3 x Tractor engine upgrades
3 x Optional tractor power generator modules
3 x Different gun Limbers
3 x heavy artillery models one of each variant (cannon, beam cannon, missile)
Skinnerz utilise a wide variety of light artillery pieces to support their armies, these are commonly towed by fast tractors enabling them to be rapidly deployed on the battlefield.
Is it something relating to short, stocky abhumans that did like mining but were then wiped out (eaten) by a species of alien space-locusts (in an alternative time-line?)
There have been some fragility issues with the Novan Winter Infantry, hence...time to fix that!
Novan Regulars Winter Infantry Mk3 - £7.00
Armed in a similar manner to conventional Novan Rifle squads, the Winter Infantry are issued with heavy protective clothing and breathing apparatus intended for operations conducted in extremely cold environments, where exposed flesh or even eyeballs will freeze in minutes.
The Skinnerz are assisted in many tasks by the diminutive energetic Gobblers, the first of House Fero’s old bio-engineered slave worker classes who followed the Skinnerz exodus of Novan space at the end of the great Skinnerz Rebellion. They have since carved out a place for themselves amongst the Skinnerz various tribes in many rolls including militarily as logisticians, maintenance crews, and artillery operators.
This set contains: 56 x gobbler’s helper figures
Please note that occasionally a few figures on each sprue have casting defects which we hope to address with a new mould at some stage but until that time I will be adding an extra sprue of figures free to compensate for any losses that may occur.
Fantastic, I dont have anyone interested in small scale armies so I wont buy them BUT amount of detail you manage to put on such small models in mind blowing.
All imaginary hats off to you Who knows after my relocation to Ireland I ll manage to find some victims to play with me.
Skinner armies are known to use Drop Troops equipped with rocket packs as special forces, deployed from the air they encircling the enemy and attacking from unexpected directions.
Holy cow, if I ever decide to pick up a mass battle game, I know who I'm coming to. I can't believe these are 3mm, they honestly have more detail than lots of 10 and 15mm miniatures I've seen. The sculpting is really top notch.
We've been getting some questions regarding the stock, so here's a quick update:
What's happening here at VGM update.
Receiving a lot of mail asking after various products so I thought i'd roll out a quick state of play update.
Currently on order and or awaiting delivery, Onslaught minis latest releases plus a general re-stock but with the sheer size of Onslaughts range now I have had to priorities which items to re-stock first, another order for those items I could not afford this time round should be submitted next month.
Wasteland Games re-stock is currently casting, no idea on an ETA on this order as of yet. The re-stock of the 3mm resin buildings from Gregster's Lab are also in production as well as the 6mm shanties, an initial small re-stock should be with me soon with the rest to follow once the resin supplier delivers.
Troublemaker Games plastic terrain sets are also on re-order and expected very soon.
I have several new 3mm and 6mm items coming out over the coming weeks myself plus a continuous flow of re-stock items are coming in most weeks.
Kind regards John
Also, another teaser of the Eagle Dropship:
And expect the Felis Stealth Ship to be released in the coming weeks...

Novan Elites Spiculum Heavy Fighter - £7.00
The Spiculum like most Elites aircraft can function perfectly fine within the vacuum of space, but has been specifically optimised to operate in the ground support roll providing precision strike capability against enemy armoured targets and infantry concentrations.
BobtheInquisitor wrote: I hate to sound like a broken record, but will that stealth ship be in resin?
Most likely metal for now considering it's a rather tiny ship (30mm long).
In the meantime, 6mm reinforcements for the Novan Regulars have arrived!
Novan Winter Assault Grenadiers - £6.50
Amongst the most elite of the regular human armies of Tusculum Nova are the Household Guard, these detachments act as specialist assault grenadiers during times of war, armed with the best laser beamers and inferno dischargers, equipped with the best reactive armour, and expertly trained until they are an infantry force of almost unmatched lethality.
Set contains: 40 x Novan Winter Assault Grenadiers.
Novan Regulars Samson Armoured Utility Tractor - £7.00
The Samson armoured tractor is utilised across Tusculum Novas regular forces as a tractor, towing supplies and heavy support weapons and also as a battlefield run around and even in some cases as a light assault carrier capable of transporting 5 men.
I thought it handy to perhaps share it here as well. I've been wanting to show what can be done with Vanguard Miniatures' models, as well as showing some artwork, background, WIP's, etc. So I've opened up a Tumblr page.
Well, it's taken an age but finally the Mk2 sculpts of the 6mm Novan Elites Forefront with jump packs set is back in stock. Sorry it took so long before release but these things happen sometimes, hopefully it was worth the wait.
Novan Elites – Forefront Platoon (with jumppacks) - £6.50
Most Praetorian armies from Tusculum Nova can call on a wide range of infantry unit types, from conscript inductees to royal marines, but a few are able to employ greater assets.
Encased in thick armour, wearing helms reminiscent of the knights of old Earth.
Forefront units use jet turbines and close combat shear-swords to hold the front lines, whilst Affray Units lay down covering fire.
On a sidenote, our friends at Gregster's Lab have a crowdfunding campaign running. Their terrain should be very compatible with Vanguard Miniatures' 3mm and 6mm ranges.
I just ordered a bunch of the 15mm stuff as it looks exceptional. Grimdark gaming in 15 has always been a dream of mine and this looks like it will work well.
Happy to see they added another vehicle option and I hope the range continues to expand.
Definitely picking up some of those pending ships - the different prows are a great move. Any scope for making the older ships have removable prows too? That would grant some great customisation options and draw in more customers I imagine!
When is a 3mm cyberstalker leviathan coming out? My question is not related to the Adeptus Titanicus release at all nope nope

Nothing planned at the moment. I might do something for the larger Novan Elites ships when I get to them...

Coming this month two new additions to the 6mm winter troops range. First we have siege engineer infantry armed with assault shotguns and seismic mortars, and second a new tunnelling vehicle designed to undermine fortifications, the Cerberus siege drill, complete with two engineer crew seen here next to the Samson utility tractor.
I don't suppose you are planning on selling the 6mm regulars command tanks separately? I've been buying the vanquisher equivalents but I will end up with nine and no command tank :( also it may just be me but the tank comes with an open hatch option but no tank commander in cupola?
Approximate dimensions are, L92mm, W90mm, H30mm to the tail stabiliser wing.
In the meantime...
Four more Centurion variants out!
Novan Regulars Centurion Main Battle Tank (Aeneas) - £8.50
The centurion main battle tank is the most common tank used by Novan regular forces in the field a rugged and heavily armoured design it has been built to be a reliable and easy to operate vehicle capable of going long periods of time between maintenance cycles making it the perfect machine to equip Tusculum Nova’s armoured divisions.
The designs has seen many weapon fits over the years but the most common armaments (hector configuration) are a regular tank cannon in the turret backed up by a fixed forward hull mounted laser cannon. In addition the hull sides can be configured to mount a sponson weapon most commonly a HMG for close in anti personnel protection.
The Aeneas is the lighter brother of the Hector configuration. Its 120mm cannon is replaced for a lighter variant. Ironically, this weapon was originally designed to be mounted on the Warrior Infantry Fighting Vehicle as an anti-fortification weapon. This has proven very ineffective, which led the Novan military to rethink their design. The cannon was mounted on a Centurion hull, its decrease in weight gave it more speed than the other configurations. Most Centurions armed with the Aeneas configuration also sacrifice their sponson-mounted tertiary weapons to decrease even more weight, allowing it to travel faster and for longer distances.
Pack contains 3 x centurion tanks (Aeneas) with modelling options.
Novan Regulars Centurion Main Battle Tank (Agamemnon) - £8.50

In addition the hull sides can be configured to mount a sponson weapon most commonly a HMG for close in anti personnel protection.
The Agamemnon configuration is the follow-up design of the Ajax configuration. Its primary weapon is replaced for a mortar which has a much longer range than conventional Siege Cannons carried by the Ajax configuration or the Hammer Support Tank. Secondary and tertiary weapons, like the Ajax configuration, are primarily meant to take out thick armour. The Agamemnon often sees the secondary laser cannon and tertiary Plasma Cannons replaced for Microwave Projectors.
Pack contains 3 x centurion tanks (Agamemnon) with modelling options.

The Turnus configuration, like the Patroclus configuration, was developed during the Skinner Rebellion. Like its automatic cannons armed brother, the Turnus is highly effective against horde enemies such as the Skinnerz or civilian rebellions. But whereas the Patroclus is specialised in taking out lightly armoured targets and light vehicles, the Turnus’s purpose is to eliminate vast amounts of enemy infantry. Its Heavy rotary cannon is the big brother of multi-barrelled weapons sometimes mounted on the Novan Elites Scorpion Tank. For extra close range support against enemy infantry, commanders often replace the hull-mounted laser cannon for a flamethrower.

Novan Regulars Centurion Main Battle Tank (Odysseus) - £8.50

A more recent development within the Novan military, the Odysseus configuration uses primary and tertiary weapons normally used by the Novan Elites. Based on the Disruptor Annihilator of the Novan Elites Dominator Super Heavy Tank, the Odysseus carries a turret-mounted Heavy Disruptor Charger and two sponson-mounted Disruptor Cannons. Its secondary hull weapon is rather unconventional for the Centurion tank. Whilst most configurations are armed with laser cannons, the Odysseus carries a quick cycling pulse laser, a weapon normally reserved for the Warrior Infantry Fighting Vehicle.
Pack contains 3 x centurion tanks (Odysseus) with modelling options.
The Centurion tank has seen many adaptions during its years of service, one such adaption omits the turret in favour of mounting a weapon system low down in the main hull in a fixed forward position. This configuration allows for a much heavier weapon to be mounted on the chassis, greatly reducing the overall silhouette of the vehicle. Two of the most common weapons utilised are the Hammer mortar and Hunter anti-tank laser cannon.
Set contains: 3 x assault gun hulls, 3 x parts sprues

And of course...what everyone has been waiting for: THE EAGLE HAS LANDED!!!
Novan Elites Eagle Dropship - £28.00
The Novan Elites make use of many types of aircraft including fighters, bombers, shuttles, heavy landers and dropships, the Eagle is a medium class dropship capable of fighting its way past an orbital blockade to deliver a full Maniple of Elites infantry to a planetary surface under combat conditions. Heavily armed and armoured this aerospace craft is also a supremely powerful air asset in its own right. The main dorsal turret can be fitted with a variety of different weapon systems, including an accurate and hard-hitting heavy laser cannon, allowing it to engage heavily fortified orbital and surface positions, as well as enabling ground-support “pylon runs” to strike hardened surface targets. Secondary weapons include supplemental wing-mounted laser cannon and air to ground missile clusters. Close in defence and landing zone suppression is provided by automated heavy machine gun turrets. Even a single Eagle dropship is likely to prove to be an incalculably valuable asset to any Elites battle group.
This set consists of one resin cast model made up of the follow:
1 x Eagle hull
7 x Eagle component sprues
Dimensions: Length 92mm nose to rear thrusters, Wing span 90mm, Height 28mm bottom of landing gear to rear stabiliser wing.

Considering I've amassed quite an epic collection for a small outlay, £28 is on the higher end of the scale. Like I said, though, for both a kick-ass, high quality Thunderhawk proxy, something that is rare as... well, the excretions of a fantasy animal that resembles a horse, it's still perfectly reasonable.
