News flash,

The second batch of Affray has already been sold out, but a further batch is already inbound for later this week. I also have the main Regulars Siege infantry sets here to sort and bag they should be up in the next few days, as well as Skinners infantry leaders and more Centurion tanks.

Re-stocks are understandable slow at this time but stuff is trickling in and many items are on order. I apologies that so many items are out of stock but there's not much I can do about it I'm afraid, Covid has disrupted manufacture and supply.

I must thank you all for the many orders placed over these last few months really appreciated.

General stock situation

The stock situation is currently in flux, due to the large number of orders received over the last two months demand has outstripped supply. Covid 19 has caused huge delays on both manufacture and resupply and I don’t see that changing any time soon. I do have items trickling in all the time but overall re-stock supply is slow so please be aware of that.

I do have on order around 60 moulds to be run to bring the stock levels back to some semblance of normality but I have no idea when any of these will start arriving so its a waiting game I’m afraid.

Expected in this coming week will be another batch of the very popular Affray set B and a few other Elites sets will be back up amongst others. I also have in now several new release items that will start making an appearance in the coming weeks.

Plastic strips bases are also here and will be back up in store as soon as I can find time to count and bag some.

Finally I’d like to announce a shutdown period that will most likely be at the end of this month nominally for a week. This will mean I will not be accepting or processing new orders during that time. Reasons are many but I need to step back and take a break from processing orders in order to tidy up loose ends, take stock of the business situation and inventory remaining stock amongst other things.

ORDERING DISABLED

As previously notified in my last news message I will not be accepting orders for this week commencing 25/05/20, to that end the ability to order on the website has been disabled. I will obviously process and ship any orders received up to this time as usual, and will notify you all when ordering has been enabled again.

Reasons are many but the need to address loose ends, inventory stock, and generally access the business situation requires me to free up the time necessary to pursue these tasks.

Tempest grav-tank
The Tempest is the most commonly encountered anti-gravity combat vehicle of the Eloi Federation. A swift and highly manoeuvrable vehicle combining unprecedented mobility with lethal and highly accurate firepower.
Tempests are known to be crewed by two Eloi, a pilot/driver and a weapons operator both of which sit in the small rear compartment. The apparent central cockpit is in fact a highly advanced sensor array, real time data gathering module and terrain following suite linked directly to the crew by a neural linked helmet interface. This gives both crew members unprecedented situational awareness of their surroundings on the battlefield.
Common armaments for the dorsal turret are a high energy long barrelled laser cannon deadly against armoured targets in combination with a tri-barrelled pulse laser providing rapid fire capability against infantry and light vehicle targets, other weapon combinations have also been observed.
The graceful curvature and the thick well slopped composite armour plates of Eloi vehicles provide excellent protection from enemy fire but it is the tanks speed and agility that is considered to be its primary defensive measure.

Zephyr recon tank

The Zephyr is an extensively modified version of the Tempest grav-tank created to fulfil a reconnaissance role for Eloi armoured battlegroups. Modifications for this vehicle include further silencing of the already quiet main drive engines and the fitting of a chameleon like cloaking field array to the forward hull sections that when active mimics the appearance and colouring of the surrounding terrain rendering the vehicle extremely hard to see. The rear compartment has been extended backwards allowing room for a small scout team to be embarked as required.

Armaments are usually of the lighter kind than seen on the Tempest as the Zephyrs roll is information gathering and observation of enemy activity ahead of the Eloi advance not combat. But on occasion it has been recorder that Zephyr stealth attack squadrons fitted with heavier firepower have been used to great effect in aggressive hit and run attacks on isolated enemy formations and lightly defended positions.

THE MOULD FOR THIS MODEL IS SHOWING SIGNS OF WEARING OUT SO THESE ARE NOT OF THE SAME QUALITY AS USUAL BUT STILL OF VIABLE USE, FORTUNATELY MOST OF THE WEAR IS IN AREAS THAT WILL BE COVERED BY THE "WINGS" OR WEAPON BROADSIDES.
So this latest batch will most likely be the last metal Panthera available, if any of you guys/gals still want metal versions then you will have to snap them up once ordering has been enabled again either tomorrow or Thursday.

The Hurk is one of the heaviest of the Skinners aircraft encountered to date, commonly seen in two variants. The transport variant replaces the bomb bay with troop benches and sports heavy machine guns for self defence, alternatively the troop benches can be removed in order to make space for logistics operations.

Fixed armaments include two forward facing twin medium cannon on the fuselage, a rotating twin machine gun turret in the dorsal position and remotely operated rear facing twin machine guns on the tail, other armaments have also been observed.

This is a multipart resin and metal kit with modelling options.

Good news, yesterday I received my re-stock of all three plastic bases, 28000 of them in fact, I have 50 sets of both the strip bases and flying bases in store now with the round bases to follow as soon as I have time to bag them.

The Eloi field several types of support weapons systems mounted on anti-gravity platforms to support their infantry formations, the “light” support batteries observed include guided missile launchers, medium lasers and rail cannon. Each battery is sub-divided into three sections and consists of two platforms with two crew members per weapon and a battery commander.

Malika made a really good observation in this thread, the classic Plastic titans scale really well with the Vanguard 3mm ranges.

Definitely think there is something to be said for the look of the massed infantry, titans, vehicles etc. It sits far better I think at 6-8mm than it does at 28mm, where at that scale the vehicles and titans completely dominate what looks much better as an infantry/platoon level game.

I know! It's a Soviet APC so the troops should be in front of the fuel tanks. Fuel and APCs are worth more than soldiers after all.

The centurion main battle tank is the most common tank used by Novan Regular forces in the field a rugged and heavily armoured design it has been built to be a reliable and easy to operate vehicle capable of going long periods of time between maintenance cycles making it the perfect machine to equip Tusculum Nova’s armoured divisions.

The designs has seen many weapon fits over the years but the most common armaments (hector configuration) are a regular tank cannon in the turret backed up by a fixed forward hull mounted laser cannon. In addition the hull sides can be configured to mount a sponson weapon most commonly a HMG for close in anti personnel protection.

This model is a regular Centurion tank without track guards.

Eloi Federation Way Seekers

Function:

The Way Seekers of the Eloi Federation function as the leaders of Eloi Battle Contingents, and are to be found serving at all levels of command from Detachment Commander to Battle Group Leaders. They have many specialist branches within the Eloi’s military establishment. Highly intelligent and extensively trained the “Seekers” as they are commonly known have studied the art of war in all its many aspects and are therefore opponents not to be underestimated.

Equipment:

They wear a modified suit of Eloi battle armour and robes made of an unknown fabric with several remarkable properties which will not be elaborated upon here. Armaments carried by such individuals include conventional Eloi small arms as well as the favoured “great sword” a melee weapon capable of piercing even the mighty armour of our Novan Elites. Certain individuals have also been observed as carrying the less common spear and rarely a staff which may serve as a badge of office.

The Elites Guardian tank is yet another product of Tusculum Nova’s most advanced research and development programs to equip it’s Elite forces with the most powerful weapons and equipment that can be provided. Guardian’s are intended to act as front line main battle tanks a roll originally filled by the older Scorpion designs which have now been relegated to a supporting roll for the mechanised squadrons. The hull bears a similar appearance to the Mauler assault transport and was developed alongside that vehicle. Although smaller than the mauler it is none the less a very potent design heavily armed and armoured with an impressive turn of speed .

This particular variant of the Guardian utilises the latest turret design commonly found on many new production run Trojan IFV’s with in this case a twin 20mm rotary-cannon mounted to either side of the commanders hatch these cannon are devastating in the anti-personnel roll and they are extremely effective against light vehicles also. Two sponson mounting points are also available these can be fitted with several weapon options with either the standard laser cannon or heavy machinegun being the most common choices and there is also a permanant forward hull MG fitted as standard.

In the guardian elite forces have a highly versatile and potent battle tank able to survive in the deadliest of warzones.

This pack contains 3 x guardian main battle tanks with rotary cannon turrets.

Ships News

After much thought I decided to dispense with the funding campaign and press ahead with self funding a bunch of the ships myself.

The Panthera frigate and Lynx destroyers previously manufactured in metal have now been slightly remodelled and remastered for resin casting. These three ships are now being moved towards printing the masters and then moulding. Hope to see them re-released very early next year.

Zeus pattern vessels, the destroyer as you are probably aware has already been released. I have now received sample production castings of the cruiser, light cruiser and frigate which I have authorised to be manufactured ASAP, the casters predict a late November delivery date for the first batch of those. The Spear pattern prows will also be available around the same time.

The Warrior II chassis has been used as the basis for many Regulars vehicles over the years the Assault Gun variant was developed to support infantry in urban areas by providing mobile heavy firepower under armour for breaching enemy defensive positions. It has a lighter calibre of weapon than that fitted to the Elite’s Trojan Hammer Assault Gun but it still remains a very effective vehicle in its assigned roll.

Forefront on foot set 1

Forefront is the designation assigned to the Novan Elites assault troops, there are many configurations of assault squads, on foot, mechanised and with jump packs all variously armed. This particular formation consists of Forefront troopers on foot with small arms (pistols) supported by troopers with heavy grenade launchers capable of firing numerous grenade types.

The Skinook is a very basic some would say crude twin rotary wing aircraft used extensively by the Skinners to transport both troops and equipment around the battlefield. It is lightly armed but extremely rugged and is usually escorted by dedicated gunships capable of engaging both air and ground targets in its defence. The passengers sit in the open sided main cabin and have been known to add their own small arms fire to the aircrafts defence. A rear drop down ramp allows for easy loading of cargo and light vehicles like bikes.

Armament is usually twin heavy machine guns mounted in the nose and a door mounted light machine gun to port and starboard, but other armaments have been observed.

The Panthera class Heavy Frigate is the workhorse of the Novan Elite fleets. Heavily armed and armoured, its various weapon configurations allow it to fulfil many different void combat roles.
No matter its broadside configuration, the Panthera’s basic armament includes two triple linked dorsal mounted turrets and two pairs of prow torpedo tubes. Its broadsides allow for different types of weapon systems which can be changed whilst in dock due to it’s modular design.

Most commonly used are weapons batteries, more than capable of tearing huge chunks out of enemy vessels many times its own size. Another popular configuration for the Panthera is to fit it with launch bays, allowing the heavy frigate to carry Javelin fighters. In order to protect other ships of the fleet from waves of ordnance and enemy fighters the Panthera is sometimes also configured with broadside turret platforms capable of projecting a withering volume of defensive fire.

Resin cast model

The Pardus pattern assault frigate was a developed born of a need for a heavy hitting escort fitted with multiple plasma accelerators. The design is based on a modified Panthera hull which sacrifices its broadsides and torpedo capability in order to house the power core and systems necessary to feed three massive plasma accelerator cannon. Capable of firing all three cannon simultaneously in a devastating salvo that has been the doom of many an enemy vessel these ships are a extremely valuable asset for any Elites fleets.

They are often deployed in squadrons of two to four ships operating in line-breaker formations or as capital ship hunters of some renown.

2 x triple barrel dorsal turrets

The heavy ordnance bunker is designed to be built into terrain features for increased protection and concealment, the reinforced roof also provides excellent protection for the turret from enemy air attack Typically found near large military installations and other high value assets they are often well camouflaged and difficult to spot until they open fire.

This model kit consists of three resin cast bunker components and has been designed to take one of vanguards heavy ordnance turrets.

The “Crusher” is one of the heavier Skinners walkers thus far encountered by our forces and has been seen in many configurations and with a diverse range of weapon systems fitted. A capable if somewhat cumbersome design it is well armoured for its class with some variants even seen with shield emitters on board. Piloted by a single Skinner and like many of the other esoteric war constructs we have seen fielded by Skinners armies these battle walkers should not be underestimated and should be considered priority targets when encountered.

A new venture for vanguard miniatures today sees the release of the first in hopefully a long line of 3D resin printed products.
The first releases are all terrain related, my old medium landing pad and heavy bunker previously available as resin casts, and two new products, a small balcony set and outrigger landing pad to enhance your building models.
