Thanks for the kind words! Lets see if this model will be a success, since it'll mean Vanguard can do more models (and maybe do more stuff in resin as well).
Guys, a quick question: we've had a teeny tiny version of the new Elites Eagle gunship done for starship scale gaming but is it too small next to the fighters. Should we upscale it a bit?
After a bit of a delay I have finally sent the little Felis stealth ship off to the casters, ETA in store would be end of the month with luck.
Updated 6mm winter cavalry prints off to the casters today, estimate end of the month for re-release.
Early 3mm skinners castings have started to arrive, I have been assembling them and figuring out base contents for Dominion, these will all be part of Skinners wave 1 releases.
You mean the Legate? It's still in the works, can't give you an ETA on when the design is finished, let alone the printing and casting. But it'll come eventually...
@Rabenga: pics will be shared when there's something to show.
@Schoon: we are working on trying to get our own setting more off the ground, thus exploring some different designs and units. However, if we would have to translate it to other gaming systems, I'd guess this craft could fit in various BFG Rogue Trader, Wolfpack, or pirate lists? The craft might also work in some of Firestorm Armada fleets, Full Thrust, or other games.

Hey mate, do you know if the stealth ship is available yet? I had a look but could not find it but its entirely feasible that I am either too blind or too stupid!
(incidentally Malika do you work for vanguard? After all this time I still haven't managed to work it out.)
No clear ETA on my ship designs yet. I think Vanguard Miniatures were tempted to maybe do a mini crowd funder for them, but nothing set in stone yet.
As for my position, I do a bunch of the design stuff for Vanguard Miniatures at the moment, but this is on a freelance basis. As for me posting and forums and what not, that's just me trying to fill for John (who runs Vanguard Miniatures, basically it's a one man operation).

Cheers for the answers mate, the stealth ship is your design? Very nice work! I hope you are looking at doing more in a similar vein. Will chuck money at a kickstarter but sooner is better for mine
Semi as in Q ship or armed merchant man? Wish I had the funds at the moment to commission a ship. Don't suppose you are feeling the need to make an escort carrier and small fleet carrier any time soon?
Mate, seriously nice job on the Felis, very nice attention to detail and scale. Just wish I could buy the damned thing!
Man. Sometimes I wish I had spent time learning how to 3D CAD draw instead of the basic sculpting I learned. It seems like a way cooler use of my time.
Got my first Vanguard order in the post on Friday - mostly 6mm odds and ends to support Titanicus buildings and Titan bases - and I must say I'm impressed.
The casting quality is very high, with good detail and no flash to speak of. Speaking of detail, they manage to pack in quite a bit for 6mm figures.
If you've been on the fence about their stuff, I'd say it's worth it.

Malika2 wrote: At the moment Vanguard Miniatures isn't selling .stl files yet.
Ah well. Thanks for the answer anyway
It's a tricky risk to take. I mean, in theory you'd need to sell the file once before it gets shared everywhere. The miniatures/toys industry seems to be at a similar challenge the music industry was when the whole downloading/sharing of music became mainstream. It took them about a decade to come up with a more sustainable business model (questionable as it might still be).
I do know that Vanguard Miniatures are contemplating on how to approach this, which is something many in the miniatures industry are probably doing. How to sell miniatures if everybody can just print them at home?

Yeah, I completely get the risks, and I understand that it's something that clearly needs thinking over. I sympathize, because it is certainly not an easy decision.
That said, IMHO it is the future of the hobby, particulaly with how overseas shipping costs are getting to absolutely ridiculous levels.
Which, of course, means it certainly merits thinking it over, because it is something that, when done, needs to be done right ^_^.

Still, it will be a difficult decision to make, especially in terms of timing...
Well... I made this one today, at home, in a couple of hours, so...
Home printing isn't that difficult and expensive anymore. Tabletop wargaming companies need to seriously ponder how to deal with this. Perhaps one could open a new thread on that in the appropriate section for this forum?

We might reach the point where game companies are either limited to big stuff that's impractical to print at home or go to a one and done model, where you release a product but don't reprint since it'll be pirated/copied within months.
But hey we all have printers at home and books are still a thing...
Yeah I think for most 'casual' gamers and modellers (who will still account for 99% of sales) it will still be easier to go out to a shop or buy online, than to mess around printing your own.
So I see it as hopefully making it much easier for garage producers to make their own stuff, with many more miniatures on sale (some very niche), without it burying the miniature industry so that only massive companies with powerful legal teams and IP survive.
a probably a fair few basic sculpts by people desiging stuff for fun
but not a lot of cohesive lines of products a lot of the people who do the sculpting for the small companies will give up as they won't be able to earn enough from making new stuff before it gets ripped off, only those who go to work for the few large companies with legal departments will be able to do something like a faction or a full game

Let's start off with the bad news, just to get it over with.
The casts came in for the Novan Elites Felis class Stealth Ship. Somehow I've managed to overlook the fact that I've forgotten to add a port wing to the sprue. So the port wings have now been sent for printing and casting. Sadly enough it does mean the release of the Stealth Ship is delayed by several weeks. :(
Ok, so now that we've dealt with that...lets continue to the good news!
Cybershadows reinforcements inbound!
Cybershadow Protector Infantry - £6.50
Protectors are the Cybershadows front line infantry, these dedicated and fearless cybernetically enhanced warriors escort the mighty Cybershadow Warstalkers into battle. As well as providing protection against enemy infantry to these mighty war machines they can also go where the Warstalkers cannot giving greater flexibility to the battlegroup, they also fulfil a garrison roll when note required for combat operations.
Set contains:
40 x Cybershadow protector infantry, 4 squads.
And on a minor note, the Novan Regulars Winter Cavalry are back!
Novan Winter Cavalry Company - £12.50
Novan armies are often issued with genetically modified horses with antifreeze-infused blood and omnivorous appetites. Ranging far across tundra and ice fields, Novan Cavalry act as scouts in environments where more advanced technological scanners are blocked or actively jammed.
12 x Winter Cavalry Squads (36 x models), 1 x Winter Cavalry Command Squad (3 x models)
Enough cavalry figures for 13 bases with 3 miniatures per base.
Let's start off with the bad news, just to get it over with.

Bugger, I have waited so very long., well its not like I don't have enough other ships to paint in the mean time
Edit; Don't suppose the defective ones are going to be for sale anyway?
@ingtaer: I've sent John a mirrored version of the sprue, meaning that as soon as that one is printed, mastered, and cast...it can be released as a complete kit.
Great stuff as always! The Cavalry take me back to the first game I ever got to play at that scale, where I commanded a company of riders at a convention against Orks. Did really well, was hooked for a while, bashed up a bunch of my own stuff but I was too young to really take care of it and junked it all. Someday I'll get it together to get back to it and I'll know where to go to get 'em!
Novan Regulars Self-Propelled Rocket Artillery - £10.50
Another adaption of the self-propelled artillery hull, this time mounting a pod full of rockets capable of saturating a large area of the battlefield with high explosive fragmentation rounds that can prove devastating to enemy infantry formations.
Set contains:
3 x artillery hulls
3 x hull adaptors
3 x rocket pods
3 x rocket components sprues
3 x optional ammunition loading crane
Anyone have an ideas on how well 6mm Novan elites might scale up with the new FWAT tiles? I'm really thinking hard on a Vanguard miniatures Heresy era project.
Edit....Damn screw the FW tiles those buildings are awesome!!
Edit Again!!!!!
Been loving the 15mm line. Looking forward to finishing this project in 2019.
I have received a few advanced sets of port wings for the little stealth ship, so I will be able to release that model very soon now. More wings have already been cast and will be with me ASAP. The ship should be up in store by weeks end in limited numbers.
As an aside would there be any interest in a short limited campaign to get the other Elites vessels produced, currently we have an upgrade set for the Panthera, another frigate, 3 destroyers, little civilian system ships and re-worked Elites fighter ordinance pieces, all would be in metal.

Novan Elites Felis Class Stealth Ship x 4 - £5.00
Felis Class stealth ships are used by Novan Elite forces for special missions and deep recon operations and carry special ordinance amongst their arsenal. A small reasonably well armoured vessel the Felis relies heavily on its stealth technology to evade detection. A black ops ship more than a front line combat vessel it nevertheless has proven its worth in many campaigns the length and breadth of Commonwealth space.
Set contains:
4 x Felis stealth ship hulls
4 x optional wings sets
Battlegroup Helios got taken over by Vanguard Miniatures and they've put all their ships stuff under the banner of Battlegroup Helios. So I'd guess if Vanguard is releasing ships, you could say they are Battlegroup Helios.
If you're referring to the Helian ships, no clue when new ones will be done.
Love the ammo crates - see those being really cool for dioramas, objective markers and the like.
Thinking of a cool little diorama with a Fire Raptor gunship in a landing bay and the artillery loader marines and some other guys preparing the aircraft
Wall mountable lights set that can be glued to any flat surface on building walls or even used as ground mounted lights on runways or other landing zones.
Set contains:
30 x lights
See images for size comparison and demonstration of use, here seen on TMG plastic terrain tiles.
6mm figure shown for scale.
Totally forgot to post that I got my Stealth Ships, only took like a week to go around the world. Excellent models, I didn't appreciate just how small they actually are and its stunning the amount of detail on them. Top notch casts as well, only a tiny mould line and no flash to be seen.

Awesome!!! Can't wait to see them painted up
There are currently three other ships at the head of the que but I fear my painting will prove a disappointment to you! Will grab some pics of them though.
Hi people I'm looking for some feedback, I have in now masters of the little civilian ships which are currently cast on to sprues as seen in the first picture of the original prints, obviously they do not come with stands as I was anticipating that people would want to drill them and mount them on wire.
It occurs to me now that customers may prefer cast on stands to save a lot of labour and so I'm looking at detaching them from the sprues and casting on the flight stand show in the second picture. This stand will fit standard epic bases with the 6mm recess.
The other option is to provide these bases loose and you drill and pin them to the models yourself, what would be the preferred option please. Models are around 20mm long.
I'm divided I now use DZC widgets as I hate basing metal space ships so cast on bases while really irritating for me might be a better idea. Alternatively holes of the type to insert a standard flight base in is the best solution.
Agreed on both counts, lovely ships, no stands please. If these scale to the same size as the stealth ship could they not just have the hole like they do?
ingtaer wrote: Agreed on both counts, lovely ships, no stands please. If these scale to the same size as the stealth ship could they not just have the hole like they do?
These are a bit smaller than the Stealth Ship, to give you a sense of scale:
I should have realised that looking at the grid the casts are on, I mean its not too hard to see! So they are all about 20-25mm? With that size I am not bothered about based/unbased/hole as I will probably build a collar for a magnet to sit in.
The Cybershadow designation for this tank is unknown and we offer here the term most commonly used by our troops, that of “skitter” due to the way the tank seems to skitter across the battlefield. Skitters are a common sight seen most often in support of Cybershadow infantry formations as well as in the main battle tank role. Many weapons systems have been observed fitted to these tanks and they often function in mixed groupings with more specialised weapons mixed in amongst the common types. Despite there ungainly appearance these machines can turn a surprising amount of speed gliding across rough terrain in no time and seem to be protected by more than just armour. These machines are more than a match for our Centurion tanks as should not be underestimated.
Often encountered on garrison duties protecting Cybershadow military and industrial facilities they have become a familiar sight to our front line troops.
Set contains two Cybershadow main battle tanks consisting of the follow components:
2 x upper hulls
2 x lower hulls
12 x legs (3 variants)
4 x hatches 2 closed, 2 open
2 x weapons sprues
Cybershadow Master of Interactions Command Node - £6.00
Master of Interactions is a common term used to describe Cybershadow battlefield commanders, the actual ranking designations and how they interact within Cybershadow military circles are unknown outside the Cybershadow Technocracy but the term seems to refer to many and varied levels of commanders when seen from outside observation.
The highest ranking MoI’s are often seen interfaced with an advanced cybernetic combat rig that enhances their overall command and combat abilities by a very high degree. It is known the combat rig incorporates both short and long range communications networks allowing for a high degree of command and control and also provides the user and those in close proximity to them with energy shield protection from enemy fire. Heavy weaponry is often incorporated into the rig making them a very dangerous adversary even at long range. Needless to say these individuals should not be underestimated and should be considered priority targets for head hunter cadres.
Set contains the following:
2 x Battle commanders (MoI)
1 x Command node (sub commanders) sprue
1 x Labour drone sprue
2 x Combat drone (HMG) sprues
Guardian combat drones armed with HMG’s, they function as bodyguards for high ranking Cybershadow commanders as well as acting in the front line fire support role.
Set contains 30 x cybershadow combat drones with heavy machine guns in 5 poses.
This entire release looks like pure win to me.
Should sell amazingly too as there isn't many proxies that fit mechanicus all that well.
The crawler especially looks great.
Any chance we will see more things compatible with the 30k mechanicum side of things?
Some robots would be amazing, especially a large one with some kind of energy mortar on its back

I would love to see that, we need to convince John though.
New ships inbound!
Novan Elites Panthera II Class Heavy Frigate x 2 - £8.50
The Panthera class Heavy Frigate is the workhorse of the Novan Elite fleets. Heavily armed and armoured, its various weapon configurations allow it to fulfil many different void combat roles.
No matter its broadside configuration, the Panthera’s basic armament includes two heavy twin or optionally triple linked dorsal mounted turrets and two pairs of prow torpedo tubes. Its broadsides allow for different types of weapon systems which can be changed whilst in dock due to it’s modular design.
Most commonly used are weapons batteries, more than capable of tearing huge chunks out of enemy vessels many times its own size. Another popular configuration for the Panthera is to fit it with launch bays, allowing the heavy frigate to carry several squadrons of Javelin fighters and Pilum bombers. In order to protect other ships of the fleet from waves of ordnance and enemy fighters the Panthera is sometimes also configured with broadside turret platforms capable of projecting a withering volume of defensive fire.
This set now contains the components necessary to build the Panthera II refit version as an option.
set contents:
2 x Panthera hulls
2 x Wing sets with adaptors (forward and aft)
2 x Twin turret broadsides
2 x Triple turret broadsides
2 x Launch bay broadsides
2 x Gun deck broadsides
This set is made up of 8 different ship designs representing various Novan Commonwealth civilian vessels.
Set contains 16 x civilian ships (2 of each design)
Model average length approximately 20mm
Please note that these ships do not come provided with a flight stand or have a pilot hole for one. You will need to drill your own hole wherever appropriate and use a stiff wire support to base your ships on.
I really like those ship designs and am glad they are metal! Guess I will have to place an order soon, just started painting my stealth cruisers last night.
I think those small ships would be ideal for adding as docked vessels to Dropfleet Commander space stations actually! I’m waiting for the prow mounted cannon frigate to come out then I’ll pick some up
Strombones wrote: Any plans on more 15mm defeat in detail? I love that stuff. Need to order another batch soon.
Nothing set at the moment as far as I know. 15mm is mainly Troublemaker Games' territory, and from what I've seen on their FB page, they seem to be focussed on 6mm at the moment.
In the meantime...
Novan Elites Panthera II Conversion Set - £3.00
This pack contains two Panthera II conversion sets only no hulls included, enough parts to convert two Panthera models to the Mk2 refit configuration.
Set contains all the contents show in the main image.
Sneak peak of the shiny new Skinners light Ironclads set which should be out within a month or so's time. This set will be followed by the heavy Ironclads both of which replace the old mixed Ironclads set which has been long out of stock.
The Novan Convents are often believed by outsiders to engage in the forbidden arts known as “Religion”, but in truth they are merely appropriators of ancient titles and attitudes, using the rituals and practices of the mystics of old Earth to hone their minds and bodies into facilitators of Saullo’s Justice.
A combination of capable army and secret police, the Convents are fearsome opponents.
Ooooh...you managed to make them with that cute Joan of Arc haircut at that scale ! Now that's evil for my wallet, really. They look awesome like this !
What do the Novan Redeemed Assault squads wear on their head ? Is that long hair or some kind of tech-wires ? For their weapons, it's a bit hard to see. Do you have another close picture from another point of view, maybe ?

Forging ahead of the main battle line, Cybershadow Vanguard Combat Drones use their speed and firepower to breach and disrupt the enemy's front line positions. Heavily armed and armoured these cyborg battle units have even been known to drive deep into the enemy rear areas causing untold havoc and severely hampering enemy battle plans.
Set contains 24 x Cybershadow vanguard combat drones (4 variants)
The Wyvern light dropship serves a complementary role to its larger cousin the Eagle as an orbital insertion troop and equipment lander, enabling Novan Elite forces to rapidly establish a deployable beachhead within the chosen target zone. While the Wyvern cannot match the Eagle in total transport capacity, its higher top speed, smaller size and integrated vectored thrusters make the Wyvern perfect for maneuvering in confined landing zones and urban environments. These traits, combined with the Wyvern’s flexible, modular design make them ideal for deploying a variety of small fire teams to key battlefield locations.
Two variants currently serve with the Novan Elites forces:
Wyvern A is a dedicated troop carrier.
Wyvern B replaces the passenger bay in favour of an open cargo bay and attachment claw assemble with magnetic locking points for various cargo modules.
This set contains the parts to make one Wyvern dropship model, either the troop carrier or cargo module hauler variant.
Details look good in resin, it certainly bides well for future miniatures. Having resin flying miniatures is easier for stability on flying bases, IMHO.
That thing is pretty badass. I would like to start building up a collection of 6mm stuff soon to use for homebrew horus heresy. Need a few more Infantry tanks in 15 as well.
Update on the Troublemaker Games plastic terrain tiles sets, a re-stock of the Domed Basilica set is expected within days alongside a new Habitorum set. The Gothic Sector set has been delayed due to mould release issues during manufacture but it should not be to much longer before we see those back as well. Once those are available again the new Kickstarter Campaign to expand on these sets further will commence.
Like the look of those new Skinner vehicles, shall get be getting my hands on some of those when they're released.
Strombones wrote: That thing is pretty badass. I would like to start building up a collection of 6mm stuff soon to use for homebrew horus heresy. Need a few more Infantry tanks in 15 as well.
Do it! Am having great fun at the moment building up a Great Crusade-era force (World Eaters) and their Ork opponents. In between the new Vanguard stuff and other kits you can find on eBay (also, the classic stuff being reasonably priced for the most part 2nd hand) think it's a great time to be getting into it.
Another update, the Troublemaker Games 15mm regulars resin tank is now back in stock, and the latest set from their plastic and resin terrain sets range has just been released. The Habitorum set makes a great little expansion set for larger buildings and comes with two resin cast dormer window roof pieces.
Habitorum Buildings Set - £14.00
The Habitorum buildings set consists of the following plastic tiles:
Skinnerz forces make use of a variety of bipedal robotic walkers, from mighty Leviathan Tramplers, down to the diminutive Ironclads.
Crewed by a single pilot, these walkers come in a variety of forms, often with either two or four arms, and provide lethal armoured combat support in close quarters for Skinnerz armies.
Novan Nuclear Wastes Infantry Specialists - Upgraded!
Hello Backers, and Watchers!
For today's update, we'd like to announce an upgrade to our Novan Nuclear Wastes Specialists Set.
We've added a squad support heavy gun to the set, and also added two whole new sprues, containing five Ogroid Infantry (Two poses with portable Grenade Launchers, and three poses with Shields and Banhammers).
This raises the total number of metal cast figures/models in the set from 72, to 82.
The Precursors are the Cybershadows main combat ground troops their arrival on the battlefield signifies the imminent arrive of the dreaded Warstalkers alongside which they serve. Sporting advanced body armour and plasma pulse rifles these cyborg soldiers are a deadly opponent unmovable in defence and unstoppable in attack they are a force not to be underestimated.
An elite arm of the Precursors the Cybershadow Sentinels act as guardians at all Cybershadow military and expeditionary installations as well as escorting high ranking Cybershadow personnel in the bodyguard roll. Equipped with the standard Precursor combat armour augmented with the addition of Sentinel shields which not only provides a physical barrier to enemy fire but also generates a personal protective forward projected energy shield. Sentinels can interlock their shields to provide a continuous energy wall against hostile action. Their weapon of choice is the sentinel lightning spear, the lightning spear is an disruptor type energy weapon capable of projecting a lethal burst of high intensity energy at fairly long range that disables vehicle power systems and kills infantry with ease. The spear can be set to a none lethal setting that renders humans unconscious should capture be the desired outcome.
Sentinels are often deployed in a combat formation know as the Phallanx an impenetrable wall of energy shields and deadly spears, supported on both flanks by Precursor detachments this formation has proven a tough nut to crack.
Lynx class Destroyers are small and fast craft that are capable of quickly delivering their deadly cargo. For its size the Lynx is heavily armed, making it a jack of all trades. Its basic armament includes two dorsal mounted twin turrets to take out incoming ordnance which can be replaced with planetary bombardment cannon as the mission dictates, and two pairs of prow torpedo tubes. Its broadsides allow for different types of weapon systems which can be changed whilst in dock due to its modular design. Most common broadside configurations are either weapon batteries or launch bays for a small compliment of fighters and assault craft.
Its diverse armament is also its main disadvantage. A lot of space normally used for supplies such as fuel, ammunition, foodstuffs, and oxygen is sacrificed for the Lynx’s many weapon systems. What this means is that the Lynx needs constant resupplying, making it incapable of long independent missions away from sources of supply. Because of this the Lynx is often deployed on short duration missions only, when not operating as part of a larger battle flotilla.
This set contains:
2 x Lynx Destroyer hulls (1 x batteries, 1 x launch bays)
2 x optional wings sets and twin turrets
2 x alternative bombardment turrets
Painted by John Fielding in Ferro Ascendancy colours.
Model length approx. 38mm
Flight base not included

Another update for you all on what exactly is happening here at Vanguard.
6mm Skinners infantry set B will be remoulded late this week early next with new masters and so will be back in store by the end of September.
Plenty of new 6mm products are lined up including Skinners tank variants, new Skinners leaders in heavy armour, updated gobblers and a new fighter.
Also for 6mm are new Desert troops sets, a new IFV and heavy assault transport for the regulars, and possible a few new tanks too. Next 6mm release should be the Cybershadow combat automaton set 1 and there are still yet more Cybershadow units to come.
3mm hope to see the Elites gunships in production very soon now and Skinners sets should appear in a few months time. We will also be getting the 3mm terrain models back in stock at some point.
Starships, the Dreadnought and Firedrake are on order and should also be in soon. I have three more metal ship releases for the Elites, all these should be out before the end of the year. There are also a few secret project pieces to come for this range too, more on that as I near production.
Terrain, I have around half a dozen new resin cast terrain items coming for 6mm, most if not all should see a September release. We are also looking at adapting a lot of Troublemaker Games last kickstarter campaign stl designs into actual physical models for retail so potentially a lot of new terrain pieces to come in the future. Some of these may see a 3mm release as well.
As can been seen we have plenty going on in the background and plenty of new releases to come before years end.
CA100-A, Combat Automaton series 100 – Alpha variant.
A very old but still quite potent battle robot design of the first generation of mechanical warriors created by the Cybershadows, the CA100-A is a general purpose battle unit equipped with under slung heavy machine guns and combat claws on its arms and a light cannon on it shoulder mount. Deployed en mass these machines are a potent and relentless threat only stopping once their objectives have been achieved or they are all destroyed during the execution of their programmed mission.
Set contains 4 x CA100-A robots in four poses.
Model height approx. 18mm including shoulder cannon.
Here's my preliminary review on the Novan Panthera.
I bought 4 of these, all 4 have some molding issue or other. Nothing I couldn't normally just clean up, but the recessed panel on the upper port side of the prow seems to have lost detail compared to it's starboard side twin on every one of them. While not a dealbreaker, it creates problems if you intend to use something like Nihilakh Oxide to create the illusion of lit panels in there. It looks like your manufacturer didn't wait for them to be fully cool before removing them from the mold, as I've seen similar signs before in my own lead castings. Some of the recessed panel lines show the same thing where the mold line crosses them on one of the minis.
The mold lines are generally inconspicuous, though when they're not, they're also hard to remove, particularly around the prow. There's also a conspicuous vent or sprue attachment on the prow, which is easily eliminated.
Most of these issues cleaned up fairly well, particularly if converting to the Panthera II, who's conversion bits cover over 100% of the issues above. However, some of them can lead to the conversion bits having a poor initial fit, depending on how bad the casting issues on the prow are, and the application of the jewelers file may be required, though this only occurred with the worst of the 4 Panthera class hulls.
In addition, there are gaps with the weapon batteries that you may or may not want to apply some greenstuff into.
While I'm not shaming white metal, these probably would have been better in resin.
I'm basecoating the first try later today, so we'll see how it goes, and I'll post pics here, hopefully.

Thanks a lot for this review! I will forward to John (the owner of Vanguard Miniatures), I think it'll be another good argument to have the ships produced in resin.

Novan Elites Heavy Siege Armour Suppressors - £6.50
Suppressors are a support arm of the Novan Elites siege armour detachments, in addition to the regular equipment carried by such units they also carry overhead heavy grenade launcher pods. These launchers allow the squad to act as a mobile fire support formation and have proven quite effective in the suppression of both enemy ground units and the defenders of city walls and fortifications. Once the launchers have expended all munitions the empty pods can be ejected for greater mobility.
This set contains: 30 x Novan Elites heavy siege armour suppressors in five poses.
Vanguard Miniatures is four years old tomorrow the 18th of September, I do not often choose to celebrate such business milestones but have decided to do so this year in order to thank all my customers old and new for their continued support and encouragement. And so to that end Vanguard will be having a 12% off basket discount event for one day only running from midnight tonight until midnight on the 18th. Enter the code “four today” to receive the discount when checking out.
A few new additions for the 6mm Novan Convent forces, this time round in the form of Sparta APC turret upgrades. Sky Shield, the Organ Mortar and Retributor vehicles join the ranks of Lord Saullo’s elite female warriors. Each set contains three vehicles of the same type.
Find them in the Novan Convent section of Vanguards website.
The 6mm Gobblers have been updated, expect more reinforcements for the Skinners soon...
Gobblers - £5.50
Gobblers are a diminutive (typically four feet tall) subspecies of the Skinners armies. Distantly related genetically to their larger brethren, they are weaker and less intelligent, but have been known to group together in packs of hundreds or even thousands, overwhelming their enemies by sheer numerical superiority.
CA100-B & C, Combat Automaton series 100 – B & C variant.
A very old but still quite potent battle robot design of the first generation of mechanical warriors created by the Cybershadows, the CA100-B is a close assault battle unit equipped with under slung HMG’s and chain fists on its arms and a microwave projector on it shoulder mount. The CA100-C retains the usual arm armament of the A variant but replaces the shoulder cannon for a energy lance. Deployed en mass these machines are a potent and relentless threat only stopping once their objectives have been achieved or they are all destroyed during the execution of their programmed mission.
Set contains:
2 x CA100-B robots in two poses.
2 x CA100-C robots in two poses.
Model height approx. 18mm including shoulder cannon.
The DT-60, Drone Tank type 60 is a common sight amongst Cybershadow battle groups, crewed by a single combat drone hard wired into the pilots position these tanks are considered as expendable units by Cybershadow command and are deployed en mass to overwhelm enemy forces. They also serve in the support roll alongside the heavier “Skitter” tank and Cybershadow infantry formations. The tank sports two hard points with machine guns, rocket pods and disruptors being reported as common armaments in use on this machine.
Set contains:
3 x DT-60 Upper hulls
3 x DT-60 Lower hulls
12 x Leg units
9 x Weapons, 3 x twin MG’s, 3 x rocket pods, 3 x disruptors
The Novan heavy ordinance defence bunker can be found all across Tusculum Nova space typically guarding the approaches to cities, starports and military installations. Variably armed and often found in mutually supporting positions alongside other defensive measures, and garrisoned by a least a platoons worth of infantry these bunkers have proven there worth during countless conflicts and are not to be underestimated.
Set contains:
1 x Resin Bunker
1 x Resin heavy laser turret
1 x Resin heavy rotary cannon turret
1 x Metal radar dish
Bunker dimensions: 125mm wide, 65mm depth, 15mm high, not including turrets or radar dish.
Various models show for scale purposes only and are not included in the set. Note also that the resin colour may vary.
A resin cast generic human bridge span with a slot on the inner faces for insertion of a 2mm thick plastic sheet or MDF (not included) road to whatever width you desire.
Set contains:
2 x bridge spans
4 x optional bridge legs
6 x optional barriers
Span dimensions: 48mm long, 25mm high. Additional legs 20mm high each.
Infantry figure and 50mm square plastic road tile shown for scale purposes only and is not included in this set. Note also that the resin colour may vary.
Armed in a similar manner to conventional Novan Rifle squads, the Desert Infantry are issued with survival equipment and water-reclamation bodysuits intended for operations conducted in extremely hot environments.
Are the defense bunker laser turrets sold separately?
Not yet, maybe in the future.
Will you also be doing the anchors for the bridge?
My original plan was to have those in the basic kit. Vanguard Miniatures wanted a simpler kit, so these were not included. Additional parts for the bridge kit might be produced depending on the sales of the basic kit.
Love the bunker and the bridge parts! That is the plastic road tiles being used in the picture correct?
Will we ever see the 6mm gregster's lab terrain on the store once they have built up some stock? I just became aware of it the other day and would love to sprinkle some of that on a board alongside your new terrain!
Oh true, those bits look like they weigh a tonne and take up quite a bit of space, I can only imagine how much bunch of the buildings cost to send! Hopefully something can be sorted out as they are too beautiful to not be on a big board of terrain..
It is with great sadness that I find myself posting this message.
It has been brought to my attention that a certain infamous re-caster based in Germany whose name I shall not mention here has started re-casting my models with the intent to drive Vanguard Miniatures out of business with cheap knock offs. I will not elaborate on just why he has chosen to attack vanguard in this way especially after giving me his word several times that he would never re-cast vanguard products, but he has stated the intent in an email to do so and even provided photographic evidence to prove it. (see attached image)
Any way please be aware that my products are only available via Vanguard Miniatures website and any other source is unofficial and against my consent.
I have sought preliminary legal advice and if this situation persists I will have no recourse but to seek legal action against this person in order to protect my business and livelihood.
A truly sad state of affairs I’m sure you will agree.
John
A german recaster being that aggressive sounds odd. Usually you only see that sort of attitude among recasters based in countries that have “relaxed” attitude against foreign IPs
Thanks Malika! It's a fairly old model so i just figured it was either discontinued or in need of a new mold but it would be nice to know where it got to. Love your fanblog btw, all those pictures are what convinced me I needed to take up 6mm miniatures..
As far as I can tell from the Facebook discussion, the arrogance of that re-caster is impressive.
Anyway, the recaster drama coupled with the latest wave of very desirable terrain pieces and aircraft has made a 6mm project from Vanguard my number one priority.

John got back to me regarding the Bulwark. It has been removed from the site since it didn't fit anymore with the newer Elites flyers, also the quality of the model is inferior to the newer stuff (due it the master being based on a Shapeways print). If you really want a model, you could best contact John through the email address on the Vanguard website.
Warrior 2 is a purpose designed Infantry Fighting Vehicle in common service with many of the great Novan houses, created to transport an infantry squad in relative safety to the front line and to fight alongside that squad when they are dismounted as an infantry armour team. There are several patterns in service and many different weapon systems have been fitted over the years, it is rugged and relatively fast for an armoured transport vehicle two features that have ensured its longevity, with the basic hull seeing development for many other military vehicles such as recon, command, heavy weapons carrier and artillery chassis to name but a few it is sure to remain in service for many years to come.
Set contains:
4 x Warrior 2 hulls
4 x Warrior 2 turret and bow MG sprues
4 x closed hatches
4 x open hatches
Model dimensions: Length 27mm, Width 18mm, Height 13mm to top of turret.

Understandable, the new stuff certainly looks much better in terms of quality, I'd love to see a Vanguard take on a TH transporter one day though, bet they could make an awesome looking model.
The new transports look perfect, I was sad that there was no sale on around black friday but hopefully Christmas will be kind and I can make a nice big order of stuff in the new year...

Agreed, I feel VGM could make a lot of money if they'd played into the Black Friday hype. Oh well...
As for a lander that carries vehicles, that would be a very cool addition!
The infamous Skinners “ace” fighter pilot known only as the “Phantom” was first encountered during the initial preemptive strike into Skinners space during the border war of the late Commonwealth period. Skilled at strike and fade attacks this pilot was dubbed the “Phantom” by Novan aircrews and he built up a fearsome tally of Novan aircraft during both the border campaign and following Skinners incursion into Novan space.
Skinners tanks are often individual designs, unique in appearance, but not to be underestimated.
Each Skinners Flamethrower Tank set contains 4 unique hulls and 4 unique turrets, allowing for 16 possible combinations for increased aesthetic variety.
This set contains 4 x twin barrelled resin cast matter conversion cannon.
This alternative weapon set has been donated to me by a customer. It can either be used as an unofficial alternative weapon option for the Adeptus Titanicus (trade mark) Acastus knight model, or as a conversion part for other modelling project. This component will see use on future Vanguard minis models but for now we thought we’d make them available separately.
The Skinners are great innovators and adaptors of technology and the heavy armour worn by many of their leaders are a testament to that ability. Originally these suits were developed as hostile environment and void operations suits for Skinners workers, during the great Skinners rebellion many such suits had adapted industrial equipment and captured weapons fitted to them. This hybrid armour in combination with the Skinners robust physiology made them formidable opponents.
Probably the final release of the year from Vanguard Miniatures is yet another unit for the 6mm Cybershadows. Combat drones with energy rifles join the ever expanding ranks of the technocracy.
Cybershadow Combat Drones (Energy Rifles) - £5.50
Combat drone infantry with energy rifles.
Set contains: 30 x Cybershadow combat drones with energy rifles in 10 poses.
Novan armies are often issued with genetically modified horses and act as scouts in environments where more advanced technological scanners are blocked or actively jammed.
12 x Desert Cavalry Squads (36 x models), 1 x Desert Cavalry Command Squad (3 x models)
Enough cavalry figures for 13 bases with 3 miniatures per base.
The Raider class Brig is somewhat of an oddity, too big to be considered an attack craft but also too small to be considered a true warship it occupies a unique position within the Novan navy. It serves in several civil as well as combat rolls including system patrol and policing and as a strike craft for the various fleets.
Small, agile, and fast the Raider class makes an effective weapons platform, basically a reactor housing, engines, and a bridge it is relatively cheap to manufacture and has been produced in large numbers. The Raider is however not jump capable and must be transported to the combat zone via an especially adapted and configured transport carrier which serves as mothership for the squadron. Armaments on the naval version include two torpedo batteries, a port and starboard mounted triple laser cannon turret and a ventral mounted twin laser cannon turret with a 360 degree field of fire.
Set contains:
4 x Raider Brig hulls
4 x Raider parts sprues (turrets and flight base adaptor)
Model dimensions: height 20mm, length 15mm, width 12mm including turrets.
I was hoping some of the STL files from the Troublemaker Games kickstarter would end up being cast in metal or resin one day so this is very promising. Their new plastics should be on the way soon and I can't wait to try it all out.
Hopefully this indicates that the monorail, towers, and industrial bits will make their way into the store at some point! All that stuff, combined with the new GW terrain will make every titanicus scale board look awesome.
Spoiler:
Spoiler:
Now we just need Gregster's Lab to figure out how to get a bit of their stuff from kickstarter projects into production and I will be able to make something amazing.
Please sir... Please, when is the 3mm Leviathan coming out? :( I know I keep asking and I am sorry but just really keen! All the OTHER titan types have 3mm versions... *whine*
Sadly enough I don't know either, I'm constantly asking John...I'm also still waiting for my Hound stalker design to be released...
In the meantime!
Novan Desert Stinger Platforms - £3.50
Stingers are static light anti-aircraft units that can be deployed almost anywhere. Consisting of a cruciform base mounting a weapons pedestal and operators catwalk, they provide low altitude anti-aircraft defence in the field as well as at military installations.
The most common weapons mounted are either twin heavy machine guns or twin light auto-cannon but other types of weapons are employed also.
The Tribune Hunter self-propelled gun is a design originating from the Fero Ascendancy and introduced during the early stages of the Crescente Succession war as a cheap and quick to manufacture tank destroyer for its Regulars regiments. Taking on the roll and augmenting the ranks of the Marksman and Assassin super-heavy tanks huge numbers of which were lost early in the conflict they were a stop gap measure until the new super-heavy designs could be manufactured and brought into service.
They have proven very effective in there assigned roll and continued to serve throughout the Crescente Succession conflict and beyond.
This set contains:
1 x Tribune Hunter hull
1 x Hunter components sprue
1 x Hunter weapons sprue (plasma, heavy laser and disruptor cannon)
Earlier today I printed some of Troublemaker Games' STL terrain designs:
Very happy with the results! If anything, as I printed those without supports and directly on the building plate, I'd ask if it would be possible to have these designs without the little legs they have on the sides: those break really easily trying to pry them off the plate >_>. It would be great to have them without the legs and being able to print them separately.
Wow they turned out great! I would have loved to get the STL designs but know next to nothing about 3D printing. Are you planning on printing out the monorail at some point? That thing looked awesome...
Commander Cain wrote: Wow they turned out great! I would have loved to get the STL designs but know next to nothing about 3D printing. Are you planning on printing out the monorail at some point? That thing looked awesome...
Well, eventually I plan to print everything. Troublemaker Games' guys were kind enough to allow me to get some of the plastic sprues after the end of the KS, so I'll be wanting to spruce them up with these beauties
I am suddenly possessed with the desire to do a brutalist step pyramid fortress. No real need for one but oh it would be fun.
Sigh.
Maybe I'll get quarantined for a month, it's the only way I'll ever get through my backlog.
On a more serious note, how well do these panels but against each other? I found with the industrial set you really needed to join them as Ls, so I could make a T shape or an L but not two pieces against each other like this --
Now I'm kinda hoping it takes a long while... I'm confined at my parents' home (so that I can help them) and it probably will be at least two weeks until things normalize a bit, so... it might be hard to go to the post office one town over >_>
*facepalm* I literally just kitbashed almost that exact mini for BFG using a Helian Cruiser prow and a 'CargoBull' hull from una-lagrima to make a Star Galleon for BFG. The farthest aft portion is different, but it's closer to BFG transports. I need to get painting it and post it here.

Though I used the Helian launch bays since star galleons are cruiser sized armed freighters from the FFG Rogue Trader game.
Please PM me some finished pictures when you're ready. I'd love to share these on Vanguard Miniatures' Instagram fanpage. With your permission and credits (I can tag your account if wanted) of course!
This is beautiful, as is the conversion. Love this side of things as it is a gap in the lines that really needs to be filled. As is the terrain.

The Scout class Strider light walker has served with Tusculum Nova’s Regular forces since there founding and has seen many variants over the years. Primarily used as a light scout vehicle and also occasionally in the infantry support roll, it can be found on practically ever world of the Commonwealth. In concert with its larger cousin the Battle class these two very successful walker designs have been pivotal in Tusculum Nova’s developing combat walker programs.
Can't see it on the Tusculum Novan Elites page. Regular not-marines on there have squared-off kneepads and other details don't match. Which specific set is it from?
I checked and couldn't find it. That's why I'm asking.
That walker looks great! The new infantry looks much more appealing than the current batch, I love the more defined shapes, very impressive for such a tiny model.

Yes! keeping the love for epic scale alive and kicking. i also love to play 8th ed 40K at this scale with 50% ranges/movement...makes fielding FW type units worth buying and using.
They also double as good proxies for monpoc units.

Just thought I'd post about what is happening with the 3mm range, this page was originally set up to promote/support my 3mm models so just exactly what is happening on the 3mm side of things.
First off I will say that no the 3mm range is not being discontinued as some people have feared far from it in fact as I intend to release a bunch of new models and re-worked old sets next week or at least early in April.
What are we likely to see you ask, slight revisions to the Novan Elites core century sets with the rest of the Elites models now in small Maniple packs. Similar revisions to the Novan Regulars company sets with several new tank platoon packs added. And finally for this re-launch we have wave 1 of the Skinners faction with further additions to follow.
What about the Cybershadows you say, the Warstalkers will still be limited availability for a while I'm afraid but I'm looking to get them manufactured by my main casters once things get back to normal which will increase availability considerably. Also looking at conventional forces for them too such as infantry and the crab tanks.
A lot of 3mm terrain items are also under development more on this as we near production.
So as you can see the 3mm has not gone or been abandoned but is alive and well and expanding in the very near future.
Do you have some close ups of these? I'd love to share them on Vanguard Miniatures (very unofficial) Instagram fanpage. With your permission and credits (I can tag you if you'd like) of course!
Hey does anyone know if the kickstarter STL files are still for sale anywhere? I've only just got my resin printing going (Epax FTW), and would really love to SUPER late back some goodness here...
