And honestly... we're probably better of that way >_>
Malika2 wrote: I've designed all those recent ships yeah. These, the Merchant Fleet ships to be more specific, were actually already done a year or two ago. The Renegade ships were actually submitted little over a year ago!
Plenty of new ships have been in the works since then, a bunch of them have even been submitted for production!
That's good to know !
'til now, we only saw ships with a "moderate" size. Do you have the intention to make way bigger ships, like battleship or dreadnought size ?
Don't misunderstand me, I love destroyers, frigates and cruisers all the same, but it would be nice to have a broader roster I believe.
It's funny you're mentioning that! I've just submitted a Zeus pattern Grand Cruiser and I'm currently working on various Light Cruiser sized ships.
A battleship for the Battlegroup Helios line was in the works (not by me personally), but it's delayed due to the immense production costs of such a model.

Sweet ! I love the Zeus pattern's design, can't wait to see what it looks like !
Yes, I understand it takes a bigger toll on production - but if we already have cruisers / battlecruisers size, it will help us players a lot for sure already !
Novan Regulars – Self-propelled Heavy Quad Launcher Battery
Set contains:
3 x Warrior II artillery hulls
3 x heavy quad launcher sprues
3 x launcher cradle sprues
6 x siege troops crew
6 x urban troops crew
6 x desert troops crew
The centurion main battle tank is the most common tank used by Novan regular forces in the field a rugged and heavily armoured design it has been built to be a reliable and easy to operate vehicle capable of going long periods of time between maintenance cycles making it the perfect machine to equip Tusculum Nova’s armoured divisions.
The designs has seen many weapon fits over the years but this variant the (Achilles configuration) boasts a long range version of the standard tank cannon in the turret backed up by a fixed forward hull mounted laser cannon. In addition the hull sides can be configured to mount a sponson weapon most commonly a HMG for close in anti personnel protection.
Pack contains 3 x renegade centurion tanks Achilles configuration with modelling options.
The Cybershadow Praetoria as we have designated them are an oddity within the Cybershadow military structure, although they can be seen operating and supporting other Cybershadow forces from time to time they seem to be an independent element not under the main chain of command. Their place within the Technocracy is not fully understood and is still open to some debate within military circles but it is known that they are an extremely aggressive and highly mobile force.
Set contains:
15 x Cybershadow (support) Praetoria in four poses
So the Eloi have just received some major reinforcements...
Eloi Federation – Fire Banshee Detachment
And to give you an idea of size:
The Eloi Federation makes use of a great many battle walker designs, fast, graceful and with incredible agility in comparison to our own battle striders, they are potent and deadly war machines.
This particular design is one of the most prolific machines fielded by Eloi battlegroups, Banshee’s operate in units of three with a piloted command unit and what appears to be two linked drones working in concert, although fully piloted combat teams have also been observed.
Armaments, two arm mounted heavy laser cannon left and right, and two shoulder mounted medium rail cannon. Command units sometimes sacrifice one arm cannon for a close combat weapon instead, a large sword being the most common weapon observed.
Notes:
1. Resin printed multipart models with some modelling options
2. Approximate height, 67mms to top of “wing”
3. Plastic bases not included
Very nice models indeed. Definitely using those for Horizon Wars. If lacking authenticity then there's the Aeronautica eldar models on the way, for air support...
Protectors are the Cybershadows front line infantry, these dedicated and fearless cybernetically enhanced warriors escort the mighty Cybershadow War Stalkers into battle. As well as providing protection against enemy infantry for these mighty war machines they can also go where the War Stalkers cannot giving greater flexibility to the battlegroup, they also fulfil a garrison roll when not required for combat operations.
Set contains:
24 x Protector infantry strip bases in two variants
Typhoon Heavy Grav-tank
The Typhoon is the Eloi Federations heaviest anti-gravity combat vehicle encounter to date. A swift and highly manoeuvrable vehicle for its size it combines unprecedented mobility with lethal and highly accurate firepower.
Typhoon’s are known to be crewed by two Eloi, a pilot/driver and a weapons operator both of which sit in the small rear compartment. The apparent central cockpit is in fact a highly advanced sensor array, real time data gathering module and terrain following suite linked directly to the crew by a neural linked helmet interface. This gives both crew members unprecedented situational awareness of their surroundings on the battlefield.
The turret armament consists of two heavy laser cannon with a secondary centrally mounted rail gun sitting between the barrels. However two other weapons systems have also been observed on this chassis, a large long range energy weapon (the quantum lance), and a triple barrelled indirect fire weapon (the trinity plasma mortar).
The graceful curvature and the thick well slopped composite armour plates of Eloi vehicles provide excellent protection from enemy fire but it is the tanks speed and agility that is considered to be its primary defensive measure.
Set contains:
1 x heavy tank hull
1 x Twin heavy laser cannon turret
1 x Quantum lance turret (with 3 sponson options)
1 x Trinity plasma mortar turret
Notes:
This is a fully resin cast set
Model approximate dimensions, length 75mms, width main hull 42mms – across the stabiliser fins 50mms, height around 10mms not including turrets
The Cybershadow Technocracy has a great many aircraft in service, everything from light utility run arounds and dedicated aerospace fighters to heavy landers and dropships. The G-2100 heavy gunship serves the Technocracies ground forces in a close air support roll. Two large VTOL rotatable thruster engines allow the aircraft to hover on station much like a conventional helicopter as well as providing the massive thrust required to speed such a heavy craft about the battlefield. The ventral fuselage has many anti-grav plates installed which provide additional lift and stability.
Heavy armour and three shield emitters provide the craft with a strong defensive suite, this coupled with modular weapons hard points make for an effective combination of speed, defence and firepower.
Observed weapons fits have included, conventional heavy machine guns, rotary cannon, medium and heavy energy weapons, missile pods and guided bombs to name a few.
Set contains:
1 x Heavy gunship hull
1 x VTOL thrusters sprue
1 x Tail fins sprue
2 x Weapons sprues
Notes:
Full resin cast kit
Model approximate dimensions, length 90mms (not including nose turret weapon), width 50mms including thrusters, height 20mms
Games Workshop model show for scale purposes only (without permission)
So many moons ago Troublemaker Games did a Kickstarter campaign for 3D printable terrain. Now Vanguard Miniatures is stocking some of those items, selling them as printed items (no need to ask for STL's here).
Small Gas Tanks
Set of four different small gas tanks compatible with Troublemaker Games plastic terrain sets
Notes:
-Resin printed product
-8mm tall infantry figure show for size purposes only
First of all, there have been some questions regarding the size of the upcoming Helian battleship. Here is is next to its cruiser counterpart:
Is there some deliberate Islamic influence there? The domes and 4 towers make me think of the Mosques of Cairo. Or the Turkish fleet from Dystopian Wars. Either/or.

Is it the Istanbul, or Constantinople class?
Love it.
I really think you should go with that for names, 3 variant prows for the Constantinople, Byzantium and Istanbul classes.
The Eloi are masters of anti-gravity technology with the majority of their military vehicles employing anti-grav technology, the Grav-bike is one of the smallest produced, a one person skimmer capable of very high speed utilised as a recon and light raider asset.
There are a whole bunch of new releases in the pipeline. A few teasers of those have been added to Vanguard Miniatures' very unofficial Instagram fanpage.
Casualty figures that can be added to bases to create little vignettes and or for making 3D damage/wound/suppression markers, or anything else you can think of.
These figures are designed to add to tanks and or trucks etc as transported troops.
Set contains:
1 x command sprue( kneeling/crouched)
2 x troopers sprue (kneeling/crouched)
1 x troopers sprue no rifles (sat down)
4 x troopers spues with rifles (sat down)
30 x figures
Note:
Please note that due to the nature of their use these figures can be incredibly fiddly to work with and fix to your models so some patience is required to work with these figures. Contact patches for gluing the figures for example are very small so thy may be easily dislodged with heavy handling. I would suggest using them on a special spare model so that model can be added to a formation to visually note that troops are being transported on the vehicles, remove once the troops re deployed.
Manoeuvrable and well armed, Hecate Interceptors are powered by nuclear cells, such that even in death their pilots may bring woe.
Sets contains:
1 x Hecate Interceptor hull
2 x Hecate components sprues
Notes:
1) Model length: 71mms (note that this model is larger than the old metal Hecate)
2) Fully resin cast model kit
3) Model can be assembled in flight mode or landed
4) Several weapon options included
The Scout class Strider light walker has served with Tusculum Nova’s Regular forces since there founding and has seen many variants over the years. Primarily used as a light scout vehicle and also occasionally in the infantry support roll, it can be found on practically ever world of the Commonwealth. In concert with its larger cousin the Battle class these two very successful walker designs have been pivotal in Tusculum Nova’s developing combat walker programs.
This set contain:
4 x Strider open cockpit hulls – Armed with vegetation chain-blade cutters and flamethrowers
It's great to see some 'bad guys' in non-combat poses, and not just running towards the enemy screaming etc.
The Striders look good too - they could probably do with some assembled miniature or CAD pictures or something, so you can see what they look like when finished.
I know those blast markers will be popular with the Armageddon players - there didn't seem to be much of a range of them before, and these are a nice alternative (that you can paint yourself) to the litko coloured plastic markers.

Even printing them in colored, translucid resins, will do a lot.
I think it's the same one. Vanguard Miniatures have started to sell the STLs from Troublemaker Games. Expect more such items to appear in the store soon.

Let’s see! I am chatting with John to also use Vanguard Miniatures to sell the STLs of my Bits Blitz line. Vanguard has a bigger reach than my Cults3d shop and the possibility of also selling my stuff through their upcoming Print on Demand service (once the print farm is up and running) seems interesting to me!
This model has been designed to be able to use Troublemaker Games straight road plastic tiles, but you can use any material you like to create roads for this bridge model.
Malika - can I ask, do you know if there are any plans to actually sell prints of those STLs, as well as the files themselves?
You would have one customer right here!
The original plan was that Vanguard would start selling prints, but the whole 'setting up a print farm' has been delayed a bit.
Psychopomp wrote:Lots of nice terrain in STL!

Not sure, John wasn't too keen on the STLs being sold, especially for 'bread and butter' items such as infantry and vehicles. But for bigger stuff it might be an option.

Can't say I don't understand, really, although for me, personally, it's a shame. Also, working with metals is a PITA.
Maybe they could try and move production into 3d printed resins when they manage to build the print farm: even using good, proper (meaning expensive) resin with good properties for minis (probably a bit bendy, even, to avoid brittleness), material costs for infantry and regular vehicles should be low (moreso if you hollow out properly the vehicles), and with a couple of big format printers you can print an unholy amount at a time.
The STLs of Bits Blitz Designs stuff are now also available through Vanguard Miniatures. For now you can only buy the STLs there, but soon you can also buy printed versions of my designs through them. You can find the current catalog over HERE!

That's an absolute shame, as I have no interest in mail ordering the physical minis, what with the state of shipping nowadays.
Wow well those are just damned beautiful, nicest ones yet I think.
WholeHazelNuts wrote: I love those ships, but don't have access to a 3d printer. Wish they would produce them too, I'd bite their hands off!
Sometimes these minis do seem to come along as printed versions you can buy (perhaps Malika can advise) but in the meantime you could try these guys who have a list of printing services. I have only used one so far (Mighty Minis) for some buildings, which came out pretty nicely, but haven't tried any of the others yet https://grimdarkterrain.com/

Cheers! I really do hope that Vanguard Miniatures will get their print farm up and running (rather sooner than later) so that they can sell the printed versions of these. There is also some talks to have 3mm versions of these done so that they'd fit with Vanguard Miniatures 3mm ambitions.
SamusDrake wrote: The Corsair Striders are very nice indeed. Thank you Vanguard miniatures!
I really hope they will encourage John to commission bigger Striders in that same aesthetic, and of course plenty of weapon variants (even ones that currently aren't directly covered in Titanicus).

The plastic Questoris kit is nice as it is, but yeah it'd be better just dropping the mostly redundant avenger cannon and including more Battle and Thermal cannons, instead.

Hey chaps John here I remembered I had an account here and thought I'd drop in, I see Malika has been keeping you all up to date something I am most grateful for.
More and larger walkers are going to happen yes, we have a few under development now as it happens, more news on these as we have something worth showing.
Many thanks for the continued interest guys/gals appreciated.
On another note - any chance you guys might offer a printed version of Italianmoose's Eldar for those of us who are 3d printer-less?
Really want those ships!!

I hope to be able to offer more printed product later this year, trying to organise a print service with someone I know. He would be printing products for me as well as possibly a bespoke printing service, but that part will be subject to how things go.
So yes I think printed versions of many of the files we are offering will be happening eventually.
I have plenty more files to put up in store as the year progresses, from existing designers as well as new designers who have been expressing interest in vanguard hosting their models.

I received late last week sample production resin casts of the Eloi Harpy previously available as a 3D printed model. Authorisation for a full production run has now been given and I hope to see these back in stock in around a months time give or take.
I also wanted to draw your attention to a new Kick starter campaign being run by Troublemaker Games, CITY CRUSHERS is a new boxed game about big scrap robots battling for dominance over the ruins of a destroyed city. Already at 35% or so funded, please go check it out and support them should you be interested.
Hope that range is going to continue to get padded out, they are really nice
Might be a good step if, an official release comes along and is heavily catering to marines, you might then get a spillover of people wanting alien minis (assuming some rejig of one of the old rules versions are used, which I think is a high probability).
Tracked heavy support weapons batteries the Drake can be operated manually or via remote control link and provides close heavy fire support for Elites forces.

SEASONAL BREAK
We are again approaching the Christmas/New Year holiday period here in the UK and I thought I’d post up some end of year news.
KICKSTARTER
Troublemaker Games for whom I retail products have a new campaign coming very soon now, this campaign expands on the plastic tiles sets and adds new 25mm round city bases to the range.
NEW MINIATURES
I have many new miniatures planned for the coming year all factions within the 6mm Defeat in Detail product line will be getting reinforcements during 2024 and hopefully we can get more 3mm released next year too. I’m not sure what if any plans Troublemaker have for their 15mm range but I do hope to see further expansion in the scale.
Cybershadow Stalkers, the first in what was planned to be an expanding range of large resin cast battle walkers will release in January, stock of both the new designs are already here and I just need to finish creating the site entries before launching these kits. Another kit in is the works which will follow first quarter next year but after that I have no idea if further kits in this “walkers” range can be achieve due to difficulty in securing commissioned designers.
Ships, I have around a dozen ship designs finished that I will be pushing towards resin casting as soon as masters can be produced, this includes the long awaited Zeus Grand Cruiser which was originally going to be a 3D printed item but which has now be resin cast with full production starting during January alongside two other small ship models.
3D PRINT
More printed products are likely during the new year but for the most part I am moving away from 3D printing as a major aspect of the business. Printed products are less practical than cast products and are time consuming to manufacture in number. 3D printed products are not what I hoped they would be and I have mostly returned to traditional casting for the future.
LICENSED PRODUCTS
Vanguard already retails some items under license and that will be expanding during 2024.
So as you can see we have plenty to look forward to in the coming months, you can keep apprised on all this and more via vanguards Discord page.
I would just like to thank all the people involved in the manufacture of my miniatures and especially my commissioned volunteer designers for their continued willingness to work with vanguard and also their continued patience with my constant design tinkering guidance, appreciated guys thank you.
Of course without my loyal customers I would not be here so many thanks to one and all for your continued custom, encouragement and support again this year it is greatly appreciated.
Have a great holiday everyone and I’ll catch you in 2024.
So the big battleship that was always out of stock will be in stock the next time I want to plunk money down? It’s a bit late this season, but at least it will end the cycle of me requesting notification upon restock and then never receiving notifications.

Super, super happy with the miniatures and other stuff I have got from Vanguard this year (made the armies I have put in spoilers below possible!) and also really great support as a 'one stop shop' for the Epic community. Enjoy the well-deserved break and looking forward to the new releases in 2024!

Cybershadow Technocracy Heavy Recon Stalker- Jackal II
**Cybershadow Technocracy Jackal II -** The Jackal II represents a generational leap in Cybershadow walker design heretofore unseen in Novan space. Though bearing the name of its predecessor, the Jackal II is a completely new chassis and has been rebuilt by the Technocracy from the ground up around a newer, more advanced power system.
Although the Jackal II is considered a light recon stalker, it still towers above even super-heavy tanks and other war engines common to Novan space. Each Jackal has two primary weapon hardpoints in the arms capable of mounting a wide variety of weaponry, ensuring commanders have the tools to engage any threat they should encounter. Complementing its primary weaponry are two modular hardpoints above the powercore coolant housings. These offer additional utility and flexibility by adding supplemental comms, optics, sensors, and countermeasures to the already robust systems of the standard Jackal II.
Tactically, Cybershadow Jackals can be found ranging far ahead of heavier walker battle squadrons, providing vital intel and conducting probing attacks ahead of the main assault. They are extremely agile for their size and can cover ground at phenomenal speed when necessary. Although lightly armed in comparison to the heavier battleline walkers, a single Jackal still possesses enough firepower to easily decimate lesser enemy formations. Indeed, Jackals have even been known to form the spearhead of smaller assaults should field commanders be unable to acquire heavier assets.

Cybershadow Technocracy Heavy Recon Stalker – Vulture
**Cybershadow Technocracy Vulture -** The Vulture is a variant of the Jackal II recon chassis adapted to carry a larger ordnance piece than can usually be mounted on these “light” walkers. To accommodate the Vulture’s heavy dorsal weapon and weapon mount as well as its accompanying power systems, the engineering crew space within the torso has been replaced with a hardwired AI tasked with monitoring the Vulture’s power core and internal systems—oversight, usually provided by the onboard engineering drone on the Jackal II. To further offset the substantially increased weight of the dorsal cannon and systems but retain the speed necessary to achieve its fast-paced mission requirements, the Vulture also replaces the Jackal’s standard heavy weapons and arm mountings in favour of a pair of lighter defensive rotary cannon. Additionally, the notably lighter armour fitted to the lower legs of the Vulture is yet another visible example of the concessions to weight savings of the variant. In a long range, hull down fire support position, Vulture crews are able to mitigate the risk to their weaker legs through careful positioning.
The Vulture’s battlefield role is to provide integrated, long-ranged fire support to recon battle groups as well as serving in an overwatch/sniper capacity as required. Even within heavier Stalker cohorts, the Vulture is prized for its ability to quickly relocate, thereby opening opportunities for commanders to use the Vulture’s heavy dorsal weaponry for enfilading fire missions that would be impossible for a heavier chassis to fulfil.

2 x grand cruiser dorsal broadsides sprues
2 x ball turret sprues
Notes:
1. The broadsides battery recesses are tight to either side requiring some trimming of the batteries to fit, it was to late in production to have this issue corrected but I did want to flag it up for potential customers to be aware of. The dorsal batteries fit fine.
ANNOUNCEMENT
SERVER DEAD
Extremely bad news from my website host, the hosting server is dead and it is quite possible that my website is going to be unrecoverable, both business email accounts could also be lost. Although an attempt to recover the site will be happening it will not be able to be carried out for at least another 12 days or so.
If recovery is impossible then that means a complete rebuild will be required, the site could be out of action for several weeks or more its hard to say at this time. Needless to say this is a disaster of the highest magnitude for me and my business, I'm now looking at possibly spending days and days rebuilding ever product entry which is over 600 plus items of stock. Not to mention the best part of a month of lost sales which I can ill afford.
Anyway that's the situation folks Vanguard Miniatures is closed until the website is either recovered (not sounding likely) or rebuilt.
Hasslefree just announced something similar too, might be a bigger issue.
There is now a new version of the site active and ready to take orders. We have tried to retain the appearance of the old site for familiarity reasons and it may be a while before we are 100% finished with the rebuild but at least we are open again and ready to process orders once more.
We are truly sorry for any inconvenience caused by the server crash and the complete loss of the old site, rest assured that lessons have been learnt and this should never happen again. Customers will need to create a new account as all previous customer data was unrecoverable, I apologise again for the inconvenience.
I must thank all those customers and well wishers for their kind and thoughtful support in this trying period, so thank you one and all for all the offers of technical help and promises of future orders once we were active once more it has all been greatly appreciated.
Limited number of products being shown at this time, we are in the process of adding more as the data comes in and inventory is checked, the bulk of the 6mm products should be appearing on the site during this week but its going to be some time before every product is back up and the site gets a final polish.
But at least we are visible and able to continue trading now.
Hey whatever happened to the helion battleship. I saw the ridiculously short lived 3dprints.
Were molds never made for resin casting. Is this to be considered a dead end for the helian battleship?
