Ooh, DND campaign. How long until Ponies start sneaking in? It starts with one general riding a warhorse called Luna and then before you know it you're fighting to save a cake shop from a rampaging purple and green dragon. I keep on meaning to write a DND campaign (don't have anyone here who actually plays it but I imagine it'd be fun). Only problem is I keep putting it off, kind of like painting my minis

The campaign is actually a conglomeration of a ton of stuff and it takes place in a kworld that my friend made back a long time ago, I can post the general backstory later, it's gonna be a crazy complex thing and I would love constructive criticism.

So, following the fallout from the Derpy changes throughout the internet has left me with a sour taste in my mouth. Some people are absolutely disgusting.
All of that is stupidity, the show goes on, the main characters stay the same, all hasbro is doing is editing one that some over sensative zealots are complaining about
Does this mean the end of fan-induced characters? I loved that it seemed the creators listened to the fans and hence made what was a pointless background prop an interesting character.

I was very upset this morning with the news, but ponies, then an awesome DnD session and now are you afraid of the dark at 1 am are easing the pain.
Tbh derpy was my second fav right after dashie. I hope they are going to keep featuring the character, the article sais she herself was safe, perhaps Ditzy Do will become her official name while Derpy is just a nickname? I would be ok with that.
They actually did undo her eyes mostly in the edited clip she was in as well. I think this means we won't see any more good shout outs the brony fans anymore, not after all the reactions this has gotten. It would be too dangerous. Tiny, subtle, background things maybe, but I bet even those will be out under a closer microscope and will need to be snuck in by animators in the know.
And as the so e of the response. Yes, people are stupid. People who can hide behind the Internet are stupider (see gabe's greater Internet d@$&wad theory). People who've been given something then had it taken away are extra prone to stupid rage, especially when get into mob mentality stuff.

To be honest , I've heard both too, but as it's only changed on the iTunes version (as far as we know) it would seem that apple have some influence over deciding whether the content was offensive.

The army's going to total around 5K, but i was planning on growing it to that size anyway. The arachnafied ponies just made me get back to work on my biggest army, so I suppose that's another thing I can thank MLP for!
Well, I did play a seige against two of my friends (both playing HE), one of which is also a Brony. Derpy had cleared out a major objective, and was sitting comfortably atop it, as the brony was unable to bring himself to fire at Derpy. He also could of charged twilight's rear with his swordmasters, but couldn't bear to do so! It was in fact only the non-brony who took any casualties from my army in the entire battle!

Need to get my hands on a copy of the Derpy episode (featuring Apple Jack!) ASAP. To be honest, the first I heard about the show there was a section in the write up called "Who is Derpy Hooves?" which went on to explain about the editing error and how fans had picked up on it. I wanted to see it for myself and that was pretty much all she wrote. So, Derpy sort of holds a special place as "Best Pony" for getting me to watch the show in the first place. I'd much rather see the original higher pitched / more "feminine" version of her.
The Original version was actual lower pitched, more nasally voiced, as no one told the voice actor that the character was a girl. It's the edit that gives her a more feminine voice, though not a well do e one.

There's the "Party Like Pinkie" "Shine Like Rarity" "Learn Like Twilight Sparkle" and "Race Like Rainbow Dash" stuff, which is awesome. Done by Shiropoint. He's got little else, but does good work on what he has.

Very cool music. I am finally finished with season 1! Now for number 2. But for now questions, first why is everyone so terrified of the princess? It sometimes boarders on the irrational, the chars are always terrified that she will banish them, imprison them, explode them/whatever. Second dash saved the lives of the wonderbolts and performed a supposedly legendary trick, but they don't even remember her name at that big party thing, poor dashie. Third (and I wish I had this ability) the ponies often cause wanton destruction or mayhem, most of the time because they do something stupid and they never get into trouble. Ponyville must have a great insurance policy.

Apparently I got my versions mixed up and the deeper voice is the original. Can't say as I'm a fan of that voice, honestly, as it was meant to and does sound boyish. Derpy isn't a boy.
I'm not sure I've heard the "fanon" voice, but if it's the same voice that was done by the "Derpy Apology" video then I agree that is the superior voice. I've never really seen Derpy as having anything wrong with her, beyond her eyes going off in different directions and being a bit of a klutz; both supported by the show. I know about the the Derpy/Dr. Whooves thing though I've only ever seen the fan art, never heard/seen the dramas.
So, I support the more feminine voice and also support the name Derpy. While there was conjecture that she was the "Ditzy Doo" from Winter Wrap-Up, even Lauren Faust has said that there is no definitive connection between the two. Staff caught on to the internet calling her Derpy and Jayson Thiessen liked it enough that it's become official.
I accidentally destroyed the town hall in the last level while machine-gunning the screen with clicks because I couldn't find the last muffin. Great game! *cuddles*

I think there's a significant group of people (myself included) who are a little tired of it all and want something relentlessly upbeat and positive in their monitors, just for 20 minutes of wonderful escapism from the rest of humanity being so goddamn miserable and serious all the time. I'd be lying if I said the show hadn't changed my outlook on life for the better.
Dakka is the perfect place for ponies, as it is one of the few wargaming forums that doesn't take itself dreadfully seriously.
Plus, when it comes down to it, grown men playing with toy soldiers is just as "looked down upon" by regular society as grown men watching ponies. Both wargamers and pony-fans both generally hail from the 20% cooler segment of humans who are confident enough to enjoy whatever they want and not stress one bit over what people think of them for doing that. So, it stands to reason that there is some crossover between the two.
Also, unlike most other sickeningly-upbeat kids TV shows, the show is not dumb, or lame, it is as geeky/cool as hell with complex well-written characters, and the main character is a socially-capable nerd, a category which the majority of wargamers can identify with.. as opposed to the stereotype of "if you have a high IQ, that means you're socially useless, math is hard lets go shopping etc." that almost every other children's TV show (and a lot of adult media) defaults to.
In short, there are a lot of very excellent reasons why people are so in love with it. I can highly recommend this blog post by the show's creator as an insight as to the kind of things that she wanted to achieve with it. Basically, it is matter to the anti-matter of almost every other kid's show out there and is nothing like what you'd expect, right from the guitar riff in the theme tune down to the ponies effectively saying "oh god no, not a song stfu" right before the first song of the show airs. IMO, it's smart, funny and cute.
Do not assume (as a lot of people do) that any pony-fan on here is intending to troll, or be a hipster. The (potentially more scary) reality of the matter is that a lot of adults genuinely enjoy watching it based on its own merits.

Hello all, i think this is the perfect place for me to ask this question:
I'm trying to make a hobby/fan-computergame based on a mix of WH40K and MLP FiM.
It is to be inspired a bit by SPACE HULK, as it is a kind of a platformer in 2D, sidescrolling ... possibly a bit like "3 Vikings", too ...
If i manage to make it, i intend to make it free, for several reasons.
Anyway, i have already made a Blood Mare(Blood Angel), an Ultra Pony(Ultra Marine), and a Royal Hooves(Imperial Fists) ... and Twilight Sparkle as an Inquisitor in white pads(direct allegiance to Celestia) and Gold Banding (Master Psi/Magic).
I have plans for Rainbow Dash, Applejack, and Big Mac, too, as well as a few others ... (possibly including a certain ... Doctor ... even though he really belong in neither MLP nor WH40k ... )
But, i wonder, if you who reads this, would decide what Space Marine Chapter, or other WH40K-thing should get pony-fied, then what would it be, and why?
That will not mean i'll prioritize it or even make it, but i'm curious, and would like to know. ^_^
As for MLP: FiM, my Mane 6 favourite is Applejack, and my non-mane 6 favourite(s) is a tie between Zecora, Derpy, and Big Mac.

MLP: FiM has really good or even great characterization, really good or at least ok stories, and music that is far better than most cartoons/animated series.
Essentially, it has quality, and that is why it has attracted people independent of gender and age.

i dont see much wrong with adding more creatures. if ponies can talk, why not other equines? also, its teachign kids about multicuturalism, which the show touches on a lot, so nothing wrong there.

The latest episode sure did feature some more advanced animation than they usually use. But what's with all the secondary characters? Are they trying to create more niche-pony fanbases after Derpy et al?
I read a fic that was nearly this episodes exact story. Was assertiveness training via record instead of Iron Will, but with the same results. Also, yes, Angel really is a @&$#. Did Iron Will make anyone else think of Macho Man? And man were those goats creepy... Did t talk though. And lastly, did anyone spot our Derpy hiding out somewhere?

And my final comment in this post... Made my first foray in pony purchases today. Picked up half dozen of the blind bags. Three Twilight recolors, a Rarity recolor, Pinkie recolor, a d an actual Rainbow Dash. I want six of these to make a few pieces of Warmachine terrain to amuse me and mess with some of the players who do t get it, but RD's o e of my favorites so I want to keep that one. Probably grab another pair of the bags on my way home from work.

The assumed most agile of the starter ponies seems to be unarmed ...
But, since it is the most agile, it may actually be able to jump on several enemies ..... and attack them in that way ....
It's clearly not as effective as a chainhorn or powerhoof will be, but at least something.

What amuses me most about that comic was how true it ended up being. Nearly no one posted on the sixth! No ME for me though, no consuls and currently not even a PC.
I need to redo my pony Kirby/Me. The laptop I did it on is horrible with colors on the screen so the pink isnt the right shade, and it occured to me after I posted it I should have do e the hooves in red like his feet.
I ended up getting fourteen of the blind bags and only got Dash and AJ of the Mane Six. Stupid AJ... Why you no Pinkie Pie!? Ok, technically I got two Dashes, AJ and a Twilight, but Twi and o e of the Dashes were the stupid sparkly clear ones that I could t care less about. Oh well, I'll be getting my full set of the McD o es later this month.
Indeed, but I am lazy and since I primarily just want them to make some Warmachine terrain and will be paintin over them anyways I wasn't concerned with what I got and figured getting an of the Manes or my favorites was just a bonus. Hell, I may slap a horn on the Dash and repaint that as well to use as a scenario objective for my upcoming New Lunar Republic Khador.

I was tempted to use the mechanical wings, but they're not quite mechanical enough, and aside from the occasional urge to jump off high things, I've got no pressing need to fly. I pride myself on being dependable and stable, so Earth Pony it is.
While I think Unicorn magic would be Very useful, given the lack of hands, I went with Pegasus for the stereotypical personality types. Not soficticated enough for a unicorn, nor hardy a d dependant like an earth pony. I'm more the random brash spur of the moment Pegasus type. Plus I think it would be amusingly ironic to give wings to someone who's afraid of heights.

And with these two most recent ponies... Finally someone made something other than a Pegasus! It also amuses me that everyone used the Alicorn wings rather than the Pegasus wings. I'll admit I was doing the same until I switched to the folded wings.
Personally, i think of the old Eldar Titan wings when i see those alicorn wings ...

An Earth Pony Ninja, likes reading, dancing, and singing, and knows some magic, despite being an earth pony.
She can also help out with some handiwork.
Prefers to disarm enemies, instead of using direct attacks.

though then again, derpy would be cool....or twilight. not to mention fluttershy....that would be nice, or rairty even....or applejack.......and pinkie would just be awesome

Automatically Appended Next Post: So I'm starting up Khador and I'm planning on painting them up as New Lunar Republic. Don't seem to be any "official" information on the NLR, just more of different people's take on the concept, so I'm going to do mine up in Luna's colors. Her Tiara/Gorget as Armor, Coat as Cloth, Mane as Fur Trim, and Eyes as any little Gems or such. Trying to decide between the lighter shades of Season One Luna, or the darker shades off Season Two. Thoughts or opinions?
Armor, Cloth, Fur, Gems, with the top strip Season One and the bottom strip Season Two.

And yes, the new episode was completely predictable right from the start IMHO. Was still very entertaining to see it all unfold. The amount of public works they got done in less than a week was amazing. Twilight needs to have more doom prophecies, like every other month or so just to get everyone to clean a d patch everything up.

Considering that the animators and storymakers has decided to "ship" Derpy and the Doctor, could indicate that they might insinuate other things as well, though ...
Dr Whooves did also have that part with the hourglass in the super speedy cider squeezy 6000 episode, would have been cool if he'd featured, but Pinkie Made a great Gypsy fortune teller.
i think dr whooves is when some future incarnate of the doctor has done that thing where he makes him self appear human but he made him self a pony to protect himself from the parasprites, so he erased his memory and blended into the background. meanwhile his compainion developed a serious muffin obsession and forgot about everything else so now there trapped in equestria.
.......but yeah what ever you think is fine too.....
I hope they explore some of the things they mentioned. I hope they're not going to mention the evil things cerberus was guarding and just forget about it.
For the record, Tartarus is actual mythology, with Cerberus guarding it. And yeah, a quick Whooves nod would have been cool. Nothing verified, just to see him around or something as theyve already given two nods to him being the Doctor in the show already.

i do not know how there going to do a pony wedding but i was hoping the final episode of seris 2 would have more discord. but whatever they want is fine too
Discord was awesome but I think like Nightmare Moon they are only gonna use him once. The two part finale sounds cool though...although part of me is hoping the cliff hanger isn't gonna have me biting my nails until the next ep, I won't have any left.
This ep was good though, Future Twilight really did look like something out of MGS. XD
