Could do that, I've got a 5500 points list I could bring if we want to go smaller. Or are you looking for 5k exactly, if so i can make a list when i get home tonight.

Post by: kungfujew
I'm going to try something a bit different. If you're okay with a few proxies, that is.
I'll make up an 8000 point list and if I can work it we'll do that. If not, we can go 5500. I'll post tonight to let you know, if you don't mind.

Hey Rythem, I ended up swinging by the GW near legends and it was a pretty cool place to play and the guy there was very good. Since legends is going to be full tomorrow, if you want to game, I'm down with doing one or two smaller games there if you're up for it.
Oh, also Ryan was there and I played against his nurgle daemons and got to see that model you were telling me about. Wow, it's epic. And heavy. You could kill a horse with that thing.
Anywho, let me know.
36447
Post by: Rythem
Ahh nice, yeah his nurgle army is pretty sweet. I'm free this saturday if we want to try again, took a look at the legends calendar this time and it looks like it's just a normal weekend for them, unless i'm reading it wrong, let me know.

Sadly I'm out of town this weekend. I likely won't have another weekend free until sometime in August. Then in September it's back to Sundays. Automatically Appended Next Post: As for places around, I'm quite partial to legends warehouse in Vaughn (hwy 7 and 400), and there's a GW near there on Weston that's also fun. I know there's a GW at yonge and Lawrence, but I haven't been there in a while. There are other places around like meeplemart and dueling grounds, but I don't know where they are.

Hi there all my Dakka friends. I too am also looking for new people to throw down in some 40k. Best place would probably be a Heroes World in Markham. Preferably Saturdays ^_^.
Personally, I am a fluff kind of player. Max/min listing are kinda foreign to me. Give me a cluttered battlefield and I'll just field what I feel for, or whatever "feels" right as per the game type and any story we can "wordsmith" together.
Oh, as for armies, i have a customized Marine army, orcs, tau. I confess I'm pretty new for orcs and tau but hey, thats part of the fun isnt it?
Please feel free to send me a message.

Heroes world generally only has 40k on Sunday and Monday, but there are a lot of people on those dates looking for games.
Community is pretty split in terms of competitiveness, but most players play fairly laid back army lists.

I was considering poping by the gw near legends and picking up a sigmar box. If you buy it there you can trade one half for double the other. Although, I also wouldn't mind pounding out two 2000-3000 point games either there or at legends.

Yeah - I'm getting back into things and have been scouting GTA places to play - definitely seems like the most players are there... but man that basement was dank. Super dank. Plus it was magic night and it was packed, but somehow silent.
I'll probably come around for a game or two - but I'm more into the well lit vibe of places like Meeplemart. It's a better executed basement.

My buddy and I will likely be at GW at Yonge and Lawrence on Thursday after work (~430 assuming traffic doesn't suck). I would like to try my new Eldar that I finally finished painting. I can get up to 1500 points no problem.
Edit: Well first game I got bent over and Rammsteined. In a bad way. Granted I blew myself and destroyed a sizeable portion of my army due to some really bad perils rolls... (which to be honest was very demoralizing haha). Second game was much better even though firing basically all of my army at 3 wraiths and causing 2 wounds was also balls. Overall it was good and the second time I have used my army so I feel like I learned something valuable.
I would certainly like to play more and my schedule should become more free as December advances.
36447
Post by: Rythem
So how did your second game of blood bowl go, did you thrower being out hurt at all?
Anyone up for some 40k/blood bowl this sunday at legends?
40466
Post by: kungfujew
I'll be there on Sunday with both.
I played vs wood elves. There was much jumping over me and running in for a TD. Because of our game, I was 100k up on him so his incentives were 2 bloodweiser girls. 2+ return from KO. He made good use of it. Many knock outs and 4 injuries. He had 2 that were okay after the game, 2 that will miss the next game, one with a crushed pelvis for -1 MA.
We ended up with 2 TD's each and no permanent injuries/missing games for my squad this time. It's much easier to score when the wood elves kick you the ball and are down 4-6 players.
Although Wardancers are impossible to lay a hand on.
My black Orks have arrived and I ordered a box of Boyz, so when that comes in, I'll get right on 'er. Automatically Appended Next Post: Oh and the thrower being out was a huge pain. Especially vs. wood elves, I had enough Orks on the line, but with "stunty" grots, I couldn't get a pass off. :/

Hey everyone, I've been a fan of WH40k for a while now, but I've always pretty much kept to the RPG and boardgame side of things. Recently, I've found myself with a bit of extra time and money and was considering giving the proper thing a try.
Sorry for doing this in a looking for games thread, but before I go and buy anything I have a couple kind of Toronto related questions that I hope are close enough.
First, is there any sort of regular casual play going on downtownish? Meeplemart, Duelling Grounds, GW Yonge and Lawrence, and even Hairy T North are all reachable to one degree or another, but as a sad car-less student, anything like Legends is way out of my range.
Second, just how ubiquitous and hated in the area are Eldar right now? After the awesome-but-prohibitively-expensive Sisters of Battle they've always had some of my favourite fluff and models so they were my first thought for an army to start with, but a quick Google says they're currently a particularly nasty flavour of the month. Could I get away with a casual fluffy list, or should I just start considering other options?
Thanks and sorry again for the threadjack.
11298
Post by: anticitizen013
No worries Pigeon.
My friend and I should be going to GW at Yonge and Lawrence tomorrow to have a game or two before Christmas. I have an Eldar army that would probably be considered cheesy by most, however I suck and have terrible luck (which isn't a great combo), so it (at most) puts me on even playing field
I haven't been to any of the other places you mentioned to play a game yet, but I rather enjoy the company at GW. They are good peoples.
As a side note, if you look at a lot of tournament standings, there are very few with Eldar actually winning. Daemons are still top notch, as are spess mahreens and some other random combinations. I have never played in a tournament thought so who knows. Plus it's all about the metagame in our area... which because I play so infreqently I don't actually know what is popular/doing well, haha.
