What time would you be looking, i'm free Thursday during the day, heading up to my cottage (for the weekend) Thursday night after picking up some people so early during the afternoon is my only free time.

Offtopic but this is likley the best thread since I only wanna trade local.
I got the following for trade/sale
10 Gk strike squad (can dig up all the bits) /w exorsist shoulder pads if you want them.
Necrons
Monolith, a butt ton of warriors, old/new wraiths, scarabs, old spyders, lord, destroyer lord, night bringer, destroyers.
Looking for $$$ or IG armor.
I was in the same idea, im actually looking to get rid of a sizable force of wolves (est over 1200 from GW price, easily over 900 from 20% off LGS stores) for a decent price along with a foam case for them at only 750, but only for GTA locals willing to come pick up, need the cash to fuel other endevours which will make me money.
I was excited to see this thread in the Dakka forums because I live in Etobicoke and am looking for people to play 40k with (preferrably in Vaughan, Etobicoke, or Mississauga). Unfortunately I haven't had a chance to read through 140 pages of posts, but perhaps someone can summarize it for me.
I am 27 years old and have collected/played 40k for 15+ years. Over the last year or so I have had a renewed interest in 40k, however I have only really put that towards painting and modeling. It would be great to have an opportunity to put my models to use and meet some new players around the city.
If possible could someone send me a list of gaming venues with open gaming days/nights for 40k?
Legends would be easy for me to get to after work as well as on weekends. I didn't even realize it existed and is in an area I frequent daily!!!
From the looks of it this thread also caters to private gaming as well.
Hello and welcome to the thread, dakka is a great place to set up games and find new people to game with. Depending on how far you are willing to drive can change your list of possible venues, but i am more than willing to give you a couple quick stores in your listed areas.
Legends Warehouse in vaughan, basically 400 and langstaff, lots of free parking, dedicated gaming sections and tables with a lot of room, very friendly staff, 20% discount on purchases. (where i game)
Heavy Support Games/Titan Games, 427 and dundas, they just moved to this location so I don't have a lot of information on what their new store is like, though i do love their used mini's section.
There are a couple GW's throughout the area as well, square one used to have one though not sure if it is still there, vaughan has one near langstaff and weston road, though i haven't been in a actually GW location in over a decade (for personal reasons).
Most of these places don't set restrictions on their gaming nights and tend to be more of a destination location instead of somewhere you drop in for a random game. I would also suggest setting up a game before hand with someone than just showing up just to make sure you don't waste your time.
There are also numerous people on here with tables and terrain set up in their houses, though that always comes with it's own risk (cough kidney cough)
Hopefully some of that will help you out, good luck.
I have a Grey Knights army that is around 1850-2000 points. I haven't played since 4th edition and was wondering if anyone wanted to play a game. I have read over the rules, just need to get used to psychic abilities. I can play in Mississauga or Toronto.
I used to go to heavy support games to buy my models/supplies but never played at that location. The Titan Games relaunch is supposed to have more space for gaming, but seeing as they were getting furious at GW for all the nonsense to 3rd party retailers I am not sure how much they are still supporting the hobby. And yes the USED mini section is amazing and always fun to browse through.
Both Legends and Titan Games would be super easy for me to get to on my way home from work. I have 10000000000points of eldar and want to use it. I used to know all the rules and all the stats for every army... but in my absense from gaming I have a lot of catching up to do. I will post back here with a time and date and see if I get any reponses.
I have a tone of terrain and an old table but I will save my kidneys until I get to know people.
No, no. I don't even know if I'm heading up. If there were people up there today I might swing up later on just to stop by a grab a small pick up game. But don't head up to meet me Rythem, as I don't even know if I'll be there at all.
I am a long time player thinking of returning to the Warhammer 40k scene after roughly ten years (tau had just came out)
I currently live in Oshawa and was wondering what the player base is like in the GTA.
I have a army in mind and the funds to make it, however i would rather play in a community than just have a ton of paperweights.
so just wondering, how strong is the 40k community in the GTA (towards durham)
cheers

I don't know much about the rest of Durham, but Oshawa's fairly dead. Depending on the amount of scorn you can handle being heaped upon you, you may find some people if you ask around though. I'm not sure if Worlds Collide has even has room for a good game anymore, GW's been out of town for a few years, Hobby Ninja has come and gone (probably without you even noticing if you've been out of the game for ten years ), and Skyfox is generally overrun by card gamers.
There's a shop called Dailey Hobbies in Whitby, up Thickson, that has a decent-looking gaming space, and Ajax has the only GW between Oshawa and Toronto, but I'm not sure what the player base is like for either of those places.

I figured Oshawa was dead, I went to skyfox games and well. I "was" going to give them some business but was met with some undue hostility. but that's other story.
I live in Claremont and used to live in Brooklin. The Daily Hobbies is a great place to pick up some 40k supplies but their gaming scene is dead. Their tables in the other room are covered in excess stock and it looks like it hasn't been played in for years.
I typically play games at Legends when I don't play at home. I haven't been in the Ajax GW for years but I'm sure they have a scene I just don't play at GW's.
If you're interested in ever playing a game I would be happy to host as I play with several guys here on Dakka at my place. So long as you're a mature gamer (28+), not a weirdo, and drink beer you are more than welcome. Send me a PM if you like.

Hows the 40k scene in Toronto?
Yeah, thus the heaps of scorn comment. If ever an entire shop, staff and customers, gave gamers a bad image, there it is.

Oh man. /begin rant
Spoiler:
To put it into perspective, I used to play Yu-Gi-Oh in my younger years before i got into 40k and dominated their tournaments (back pre invasion of chaos) and always brought a ton of costumers to their store.
so they decided to ban me, (due to the fact they acted snotty towards me and i stood up for myself and pointed these things out) shorty after they lost a ton of their players to gnu books in the north end.
in short got unbanned but started playing 40k, picked up Tau (when they first came out) and immediately got scorned by the players AND staff. to the point they would no longer order and Tau for me. (back then i had a 13k point Tau army and was going for 30k).
so about two years ago i started a imperial guard / GDI conversion army, and when asked by once of the "workers" there what i was doing, I explained it to him and right away got. "thats a stupid idea". at this point i had approx $2,000 worth of models on the counter. going through the payment process. ( I was literally counting money in front of him).
I was just awe struck. this employee of a establishment that i was shelling out Thousands of dollars to just told me my idea was stupid!
(this is a image of one of the few conversions i did testing to see if i liked the idea)
I told him, that what he just did was probably the stupidest thing i had ever heard. and just walked out.
so I returned about a week or two ago and asked if there were any 40k players around (different staff member) he explained now and then a few guys come in but its not worth buying 40k anymore. and to pick up a game like pokemon TCG or magic.
I figured this was the answer but its just how they non nonchalantly try to impose "what i should or shouldn't buy".
So I asked my 2nd question. " do you have any greenstuff and a wash (I do not remember the name but it was on a list of things i need for my army)
The responce and I quote "Why the hell would we have that green gak, and the paints are over there (while he huffs and puffs)"
so lets do a tally, insulting a customers choice in game, insulting my ability to know what i want(i know GS is overpriced but meh) and third, not willing to help the customer.
in short. I have now taken my money to other stores (mostly the GW in Ajax)
I live in Uxbridge and play. Skycapt has yet to try to fondle me in his basement... (who knows what the future will bring )
I tend to avoid the GW stores; havent been to the oshawa one but I really didnt like the vibe at the ajax store.
Legends is pretty far from Oshawa but I hear it's awesome. I shop at Heroes World in markham and plan on playing there when its not basement games. Daily Hobbies in Whitby is awesome for hobby supplies as has been stated but the game room is pretty small.

I am actually going to legends this weekend to see how it is on Saturdays. (so anyone playing there saturday please for the love of god let me know)
Thing about legends is that it is a destination spot, randomly going to try and find a game isn't usually a good way to do it. Better to try and set up a game with someone before hand. Not saying there won't be people there gaming, just that it's always a better idea to make sure in advance.

Sorry for the confusion, i'm not going to play, just to see the location/layout more than likley buy a few things
Does anyone happen to have a painted Ork army for sale? My friend (who already posted on the swap shop) is looking - preferably locally (hence my posting it here). If so please let me know via PM!
I have some vacation time coming up soon and I intend on painting throughout it so once I get my stuff together I definitely need to play some games! It'll only be small since I'm still re-learning all this shinanigans, probably between 750 and 1000 points to start.
1 pm totally works, but I don't know if I can do 2k.
Imma paint/put things together like crazy tomorrow to try 2k, but I donno.
I have 1500 fully painted, and I can probably pull 1750 with no proxies, although some of the drones and a broadside will in all likelihood be unfinished.
How strict are you on WYSIWYG? Because I couldn't care less as long as everything's clear, and most people have been really forgiving about it. I just had a really REALLY terrible experience once, so I always make sure to ask about how you feel about unpainted models/proxies.
Hey man, I can meet up there around 12:30. I'm trying to rework my chaos marines before I start on the heavy conversions, so proxies /wsywig is at your preference. I'm down for anything from 1000-12'000, so let me know what you preference is for point.
i would only be able to do sat. and id only know tomorrow by around noon. as far as points, anywhere between 1k-2.5k would b fine. depends on how much time we got. ideally id like to b there right at 12 what you think?
I was hoping you'd have said Sunday. I'm likely meeting another couple of people there tomorrow as well. While it's always the more the merrier I won't know until tonight exactly how many are coming. I'll post as soon as I do though.
k well, if we get 4 we can all play each other. hell, make it a mini tourney lol. ill bring 2.5 just in case. ill check back here again in a few hours to see whats good.
Well, my buddy and his girlfriend had to cancel, so it's just the two of us.
Let me know what points you want to run (I'm down for 2500+ if you want to go as big as you can), and I'm good to mee up as early as possible. . Let me know what points and time. I don't think we've even played before, what army are you running out?
Hey, anybody up for some casual games at 1500 pts?
I have guard, last time I played was 6th edition but If there are a couple people who want to play at Meeplemart or anywhere really, (cant get to legends though) who want to guide me through 7th edition, I'd be really down. I quit when 7th hit but the allure of the guard keeps pulling me back, and if I am not going to play the game to win I want to play the game because its really cool. I bring balanced lists or thematic lists, without any cheese (using pask in a punisher to mow down infantry and not to glance vehicles to death kind of thing). Really looking for fun rather than competitive gaming. I will try my utmost to have a fully painted army (my 1500 is fully painted minus a tank or two, but that will get done before a game I organize with one of you guys).
I will warn you, my army is still currently mostly armless, but with noticeable progress on the painting front, it's clearly for painting purposes and not simple laziness.
Change of plans-I am starting a Necron army, and will probably buy 750 points first, and paint that up with an airbrush I ordered online. I anticipate it will be all painted by about third weekend of november or so, so If anyone is up for games at Meeplemart then LMK.
Hey, anyone up for a fun game on Saturday at meeplemart?
I'm a bit new to 7th, and skipped over 6th from 5th, so I'm not the swiftest with the newer stuff, but goddamn, I'll learn!
Hey people, I just moved into Toronto, literally right around the corner from GW at Yonge and Lawrence. Am looking to make some new friends who play on a regular basis.
Been playing for 10 years now and am a casual tournament player who prefers fun competitive games to WAAC slaughter.
Im available most thursdays to play at GW and sundays anywhere in the city.
Would love to plan a game for this upcoming Thursday so give me a holla if you're down.
Also dueling grounds is having an 1850 tournament on Nov 22nd. Is anyone here thinking of going?
I am curious, after reading this post I checked out many of the locations mentioned here for 40k such as titan, duelling g, gw yonge & lawrence, 250 spadina etc and none of them really have awesome 40k boards to play on which are 6x4 ft or 8x4 with amazing terrain/ buildings etc. Because I built a pretty sick board at home which is 6x4 but I want to get out and play new people on similar if not better boards.
Actually I am a big fan of striking scorpion on youtube and his battle maps he plays on. That is what I am looking for. Does anywhere like that exist? And do any cool people play wh40k? I guess meaning people who are outgoing and fun/ confident extroverts?

Legends has some decent terrain. All their tables are about 7 x 4, abnd are flocked and painted MDF. There are just above waist height for the average person so you aren't bending over them. They have a ton of terrain, enough that I've seen 5 tables going and they still had leftovers.
Outside of Warhammer world in the UK you aren't going to find AMAZING terrain at an LGS, that's just not their business, however you can find decent terrain at a few places.

Sounds cool. A few days ago a buddy of mine said he might be up for some sunday gaming and I'm just waiting to hear a conformation from him. If he's in, then I'll be happy to play a game with you too, but we likely won't have time for an apoc sized one. If he's out, we can play up to whatever point you like.
I'll try to get an answer from him by 4 or 5 today.
Automatically Appended Next Post: Hey Rythem, my buddy backed out, so if you're still down Rythem, let me know a point valie.
Well you know how much I hate proxies. Especialy when they're nid fliers.
Also, let me officially notify you that on Nov. 29, I will have a Saterday free and I proper ie: full length/not rushed epic sized game can take place. Plan accordingly.
Anyone here game at Meeple (spadina) or Dueling Grounds? My gaming group is getting a little tired of playing each other all the time and is looking for some fun games against new armies/opponents.
how about fantasy players?? I live north of markham but have been meaning to play at Heroes world. all this End Times stuff is blowing my mind. I've got a large nurgle warriors army but im more keen on playing my bretonnians lately. Ive also got a good sized Ogre army (assuming no one buys it).
Hoping to find some like minded folks who want to get their fantasy on!
Yep 8k points, though if i field a dreadnought formation and use my eldar warwalkers as additional dreadnoughts i can hit 9500 lol.
But ya between 10:30 and 11 works for me, i will see you then. Was hoping the new codex would be out before so i could get some cheaper stuff but no such luck.

Hey man,
We regularly play Fantasy at Heroes World on either Sundays or Mondays. I don't think we are gaming this weekend but we can set up a game for next weekend. Let me know if you are interested.
Don't think they have said yet, same old problem with 40k tournies everywhere, people refuse to confirm, kind of thing you can't show up for on the day and stores don't want to run 4 man tournaments with 8-10 maybes.
Haha, well as it stands right now i'm pretty busy with Christmas/family stuff, but I could be free by Saturday. So if no one has taken you up on your offer of a game by Friday I should know if I'm free or not by then.
anticitizen013 wrote: Does anyone on here actually play at the GW at Yonge and Lawrence?
I do occasionally, I find it difficult to find people who want to do pick up games, but whenever a buddy is in town we play there. Great bunch of guys running the shop and there are always tables open.
Has anyone on Dakka heard about the league starting up at duelling grounds? It was mentioned at the tournament in November but I haven't heard anything since then.
Back in Ottawa there was an active club that met once a week for pick up games and such, I'm hoping something like that can get started in Toronto in the new year.
I've been going there with my friend fairly regularly on Saturdays... I am trying to re-learn how to play after taking quite a long hiatus of actually playing. So far I suck, but I have fun because I love 40k so much... so it's okay, haha.
I'll definitely be looking to get my game on more frequently in the new year, and while GW and Meeplemart are closest, I don't mind traveling as long as there is parking. I know Legends is pretty good from what I've seen (only been there once for a short time), albeit super far from me as I'm in Scarborough.

The owner talked to me about it when I was there a week ago. He said theyre still working it out but he took down my email. If you're in the area maybe put yours down. He's gonna fire of emails once things get going. Seemed like quite a few names down already. I'm stoked.
I've been to the GW up at Lawrence a few times now (hoping to go more often in the new year). They do 40k nights on Thursday, and I totes got a pick up game last time I was there.
I honestly can't say enough good things about the people there.
Also, any idea how serious the league would be at Dueling Grounds? I was gonna join the GW one last year but couldn't commit the time for games, much less the time involved with the hobby aspects they integrated.
We play sometimes at the GW at Yonge and Lawerence.
Duelling Grounds is supposed to have a league starting in the new year, but I haven't heard anything from them yet. Give them a call and ask to be on their mailing list and you should get an email about when its starting up.
Just what period will you be seeking, now i'm free Thursday night in the daytime, heading approximately my own cottage. Thursday night time right after collecting many people therefore early during the mid-day is my own only free time.
Not bad, not a lot of changes in the new codex but the changes they made were huge and painful to swallow considering what I have in my army. At this point i've got 8k points but haven't tried anything that big yet, also i've got about a 50/50 split of painted and primed models so i'm slowly starting to work on them again.
I'm getting back into 40k after a long time. I currently have about 1000pts of marines painted, is anyone interested in getting a game or two in at Legends (or any other venue really, I'm fairly mobile) sometime?
I have played a few small games using 7e rules but only fair to warn you that I'm still learning.

Sure man. Most, if not all, the people who frequent legends are great guys to game with. I don't play many other places, but I've never not enjoyed a game with someone I met via this thread, so you're in luck for pick up games in general. I'm usually looking for a game or two on Sundays and the odd Tuesday or Saturday as well. Keep an eye in this thread and I'm sure you'll have no problem finding games.
Its just starting up this Saturday (the 7th, 1 pm) but will happen twice a month, I think. Each month goes up 250 pts, starting this month with 750. Its at dueling grounds which is at Dufferin and bloor area. Check their website and email them if you're interested. I don't think there's a sign up (beyond email notifications) and I think its free (aside from an optional 5$ buy into a prize pool).
Here's the full info regarding the Toronto escalation league at Dueling Grounds:
Dueling grounds is going to be running
an escalation league starting on February 7th at 1:00 PM. Designated league days
will be the first and third Saturday of each month although you may arrange
games on other days. Fully painted models are not required but would look way
more cool! Ben Cope (who ran our last 40K tournament) will be hands-on running
this league.
The league is designed as an opportunity for new
players to get involved in the game, players looking to return to it, or anyone
interested in just getting some games in with a decent amount of
regularity.
For the first round (February 7th-21st), matches will be played at
750 points with game type at the discretion of the players involved. At this
stage, we will not be using formations, and no list should have any Lords of
War. Lists are encouraged to be competitive, but not punishing to your opponents
if they are new players.
I would suggest not fielding vehicles with armor 14, or some of
the more powerful flyers at this stage in the escalation, but I will leave that
up to the judgement of individual players.
Anyone who is interested in participating is encouraged to come
out for our first event on the 7th, but if you can’t make it, feel free to
schedule matches with other people involved! The league can be joined at any
time, just ask for the sign up sheet when you reach the counter (we will have
match result slips available upstairs in the store, (just hand them to whomever
is behind the counter when your games are done).
Match results are going to be tracked within the league not just
to encourage a healthy competitive spirit, but also to encourage active
involvement in the league.
It should also be noted that any awesome and spectacular, or
hilarious events that occur in games on official league dates are to be rewarded
with appropriate bits in order to facilitate the player who owns said model
customizing the figure to represent it’s epic victory
Example causes for reward:
The Gretchin who took out a Terminator Sergeant
with an overwatch shot, whose squad proceeds to rout the marines
An Astra Militarium officer armed with a basic
CCW chooses to face a space marine chapter master in a challenge. And defying
belief. Proceeds to win the fight.
A squad of space marines who remained engaged
with an endless onslaught of worthy foes that by all rights should have
annihilated them lasts through 4 turns of non-stop combat against two enemy
squads and emerges victorious
A group of nurglings intended to tarpit a fully
equipped squad of thunderwolf cavalry somehow manage to kill them all. Papa
Nurgle is very pleased
These are just a few examples, I’m sure what will come up in

Thank you to everyone for your feeback via the Warhammer 40K - Toronto Facebook group.
If I can't make it to the opening day this Saturday is it still possible for me to get a game in during this points bracket?
Maybe during the week through a Facebook group or something?
How will the matches be arranged in the DG league? Will you be assigned an opponent when you arrive? I won't be able to come in until the day of the 7th, will that be too late to register and get in on a game?
Would depend on what we are doing, kungfu and I sometimes go apoc size games (8k+) and spend the day killing each other, so whatever he is feeling game size will determine that.
I'm easy. We can load up and do a big three for all or we can do a few smaller games or switch out depending on who's there. I'll text a buddy and see if he's up for coming out too. The more is always the merrier.
Well, I'm just waiting to hear some confirmations from people, but my brother is likely in. One of our other friends is also possibly in as well as another friend of mine who might also come, but while he's experienced at strategy games he's only played one game of 40k before.
So I'm definately coming and so might another 3. I'll let you know for sure when I know.
Hey guys, we're going up to legends for 11:30 and as far as I know, including Rythem we'll have 5 guys, including one really new guy. So if anyone wants to come out, the more the merrier.
I just happen to be ending my workday now at Balmoral Lumber, which is 45 seconds away from Legends. Anyone else with nothing to do and in the area? Mmmmm 40k.....
I'll be at Dueling Grounds this saturday for more escalation action Is anyone else going? I'm looking for some GK bits, so I was wondering if anyone has any up for trades. I have lots of marine bits.
So I want to propose that those who are interested in bits trading bring them out to DG (we can do trading at the Pizza Pizza if DG doesn't like us doing micro-transactions inside the gaming store).
This is reading week for me, so if anyone wants to get a game in at Meeplemart, GW Lawrence or Duelling Grounds (though I have no idea where the new location is), let me know.
Legends Warehouse is having a Warhammer 40k tournament on Saturday Mar.14th, 10am start.
We are limiting it to 10 players and there is only one space available.
Army Selection:
1500 points per player
Detachment selection is as follows:
Pick a maximum of 2 of the following
0-1 Combined Arms detachment
0-1 Ally Detachment
0-1 Formation (non-apocalypse only)
0-1 Other Detachment (not Combined Arms or Ally)
Note: The Necron Decurion Detachment counts as one detachment, regardless of how many formations are chosen with in it.
If the formation requires you to use a duplicate selection (IE it requires 2 of the same Heavy Support choice), you can not use it as it would not follow the Highlander format.
Please note: You cannot duplicate selections across detachments (No taking a Librarian in a CAD and another in an Ally).
Troops are the exception as per Rule #2 in the highlander format.
The entry fee is $20.00 ( 3 rounds ) of which all money go back into the prize pool.
I'm heading to GW @ Yonge and Lawrence with my friend to play a bunch of games. I'll be leaving right after I devour this bowl of Trix (back in Canada for a limited time! ).
Anyway we'd like to play a doubles game or 2 as well, if anyone wants to join. We've got 1250 pts each so we can do anything twice that and below for a doubles.
I'm pleased to announce that I'm starting a small 3D printing startup with a focus on wargaming products. I'm able to print anything from terrain to models and more. I'm currently open for orders and have compiled a collection of 3D models on Thingiverse that I can print for you:
Please message me on Dakka Dakka if you're interested in a certain model and I will provide a quote. All quotes include delivery in the GTA and all orders will include progress photos as your order prints.
I have already printed several wargaming pieces and will be uploading a gallery soon.
Furious_DDD wrote: Hi, I could not make it to the 10man at legends that just happened. How did it go? Who won? What were the armies? How did the highlander idea go over?
As a whole, i like the idea of some small 10 man events at legends to work out some kinks in prep for the big one they have.
Anyways. Goodgamming all.
It was fun, I think everyone enjoyed the format and we have been talking with how we could improve it. If anyone showed up wants to send me or Skycap their ideas with what they liked/didn't like and what they would like to see in the future that would be great.
I just squeeked out the win with my BA/Tau list (Sang guard supported by Missile suits and broadsides) 2nd (by 1 point) was More Dakka with his IG list (Pask, Vendettas and a large blob of conscripts), 3rd was Skycap (I believe) with his Nids.
We had a lot of armies come out: Orks, Eldar, 2 Ultra players, BA/Tau, Nids, DE, IG, DA and I'm missing someone..
skycapt44 wrote: I was tied in third with the orks. You're forgetting D and his Chaos marines. +1 for turning his Lord into a Daemon prince vs More Dakka
It was great to do highlander and would do it again without a doubt...so long as I don't see BA and Tau allying that is, haha. Fething Broadsides...
I think legends should make a habit of 10-14 player tournies every so often.
Thanks Sky, I shouldn't have forgot about him.
Highlander was a lot of fun, both in playing the game and in list writing. It was an exercise just trying to figure out a good list.
My hobby shop recently started carrying Bolt action Rule books & supplements. Does anyone already play? If not is anyone interested in getting into it?
I'm pretty gung ho about starting it up, but nobody at my local shop is interested in picking it up. PLEASE let me know if there are any communities already out there!
Guess who is back!!! Well, not that anyone cares significantly, but DEE is back! I have missed my regular comrades on the forum and hope all are doing well! I know it is not forum specific, but I have had my hands full with my new son for the past year and have not been able to play. However, I have dusted off my Dark Eldar (and my Imperial Knights), and I am hoping to play again. I also had a technical issue that prevented me from logging in to this site for the past 5 months. Hope to be warring it up with everyone next week! I have to read my new DE Codex to learn about how my boys have changed.
Rythem wrote: Well well, look who is back indeed. How have you been, family doing well?
Doing great! Thanks for asking
Looking forward to playing!

jasharen wrote: Anyone interested in an evening 40k game April 20th-23rd at Heroes world or Legends? (obviously can't do legends the 20th though).
What kind of start time were you thinking? And what point level? 23rd Could possibly work for me.
I had a huge victory this weekend; my Dark Eldar/Imperial Knights list (2500 points) against a largely tank-based Imperial army. At the end of turn 7, I was left with only a single Talos on the board, with a single wound left; my opponent had 1100 points of stuff still on the board. Final score: 12-4 for me. It was great. Gosh, seems like the forum is slow... I remember 1-2 years ago there were 30 posts a day :(
Yeah, haven't played a game at legends since their march tournie. Either people are busy, not responding anymore, or maybe using a different forum to set up games, so i've been splitting my time between gaming with my brother in Hamilton and getting my cottage going for the summer.

Well, I would like to play you again... I'm away this weekend, but we could hook up next week... What do you think?
Sounds good to me, believe i'm free next Thursday if that works for you. Could bring out the new eldar codex, just got it yesterday and haven't really had a good look at it yet.
I had a victory against my friend last night. Destroyed both his Trukks through overwatch (lots of lucky 6's and 1's). Killed his ork boyz with an 8-man genestealer squad, and destroyed his warbikers, and a Zapp Kannon with my Carnifex. Total points: 400. My VP: 6 (First Blood, Linebreaker, four totally destroyed squads) His VP: 5 (three totally destroyed units, the Relic)
My friend and I will be going to Meeplemart Thursday night around 5 if anyone is interested in getting a few games in. We'll have points between 900 and 1850.
Ahh, was at my cottage this past weekend for board games/40k with some friends. I am available next weekend for games at legends, if anyone is interested.
I'm good with anything, do have a 5500 point list that I've been looking to try out if you want to go big, could also make some smaller lists if you are feeling more inclined to that. Let me know and I can print off anything.
Alright, might just head to my cottage instead this weekend. I will get back to you about the june 13th weekend next week once I have a better idea of my schedule.
I'll be visiting Toronto for the next few days from Seattle and was seeing if anyone was in the downtown area for some kind of wargame? I'm right up the block from 401 Games but didn't bring any armies with me (I'm into Bolt Action, 40k, Warmachine and Infinity, MTG as well but no decks either). If anyone has any spare armies and spare time on their hands and wants to get a game together this week I'll be around
I have no problems with playing your Eldar, but I don't think I have anything gargantuan to compete with a wraithknight now that it's a gargantuan creature. Although, I haven't played against a new one so I'm game. Just let me know if you're bringing him.
The only real big difference between his old and new stat line is that he gets FNP, stomp, and snipers/poison only wound on 6's instead of 4's all the rest of his stats are the same as before . Plus all the "wraith" cannons are str D now, but I run him with the str6 blast gun so there isn't any need to worry there. I'll bring him and we can decide there if we want him in or not, he's 335 points with the upgrades i'm running so we might need to add or take that away from lists.
Could do that, what super heavy would you be bringing? Do I need to swap back to the D cannons to have any chance of matching up? Though funnily enough the WK is way cheaper with Str D than it is at Str6.
I've done a total tally and with proxies i'm at 6800 points. I'm also fine running the WK by his old stat line if you want, just change him back to a MC for the game, would not be the first time i've done that since the new codex came out, whatever works for you.
I'm okay with the wraithknight as is in the book. If you're taking it, it might as well be the proper one. Since you're not taking ranged D, I looked for a superheavy without as well. I figured if I needed something big, I also wanted the cheapest one I can get and at under 400 points the Typhoon fit the bill.
I can still load up on my favourite stuff now. Hoards of models.
Automatically Appended Next Post: I think I've decided against the super heavy. I can't take it and my recent heavily converted models that are crying to see battle.
Haha, yeah because people on the internet don't over react at everything. From what I remember you beat my eldar last time we played and I had the "better" codex then as well .
Hey Toronto folks. A group of us 40k gamers who play mainly in the downtown area (dueling grounds, meeplemart etc) are gearing up to start a narrative/map based campaign this summer. We'd love for anyone interested to join in. The goal is to have it be open ended, but well structured. Its not an escalation type thing. There are no points limits besides what people want to play, and there will be no set "game days" except those decided by individual players participating in a given battle. We've set up a forum where you can converse with your teammates, organize games, shoot the gak etc. The rules packet is also for download on there. If you're interested please feel free to send me a pm for a link to the forum.
If anyone planning on buying a couple of new devestator boxes mainly to get grav cannons, pm me as I'm just looking for plasma cannons, lascannons and heavy bolters.
Also, Las, can you fire me off a link to that forum. It sounds pretty neat.
Coolness. I think I can be pursuaded to game. I'm waiting to hear back from some buddies, so there might even be a... I don't know, what do you call a group of 40kers. A gaggle, a parliament, a conspiracy, a murder, a school, etc...?
I guess I'm going up against eldar again. Are we going similar to last time, Or have you gone over to the dark side and grabbed a titan with those extra point.
