We're showing you sneak preview of our latest HDF building. The estimate releases date: end of October. You will be able to buy it on Essen "Spiel" fair.
I don't think it will be pre-painted - at least that isn't what they've done to date!
Also, welcome to Dakka Dakka!
Please feel free to use this thread as your 'official' presence on the site, updating the title whenever you have new information.
Glad to see you here - I've already purchased a bunch of your buildings and accessories for use with INFINITY, and I look forward to seeing what's next!

Maybe we should keep the Indigogo campaign news to the extra thread here:
http://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/478983.page Avoids spamming this news thread with "oh, just 500$ to the next goal" or "Wohoo, next goal announced" or "I ordered the following, how about you" or "my parcel hasn't arrived yet" posts that are the norm for such threads.
Also expect some really nice foam buildings to be released soon for Infinity. I bought them on the games convention "Spiel" in Germany: Square no-window one-story utility buildings, a large one and two hald sized ones.
I let Micro Art post the official pics when they decide to do it.

Hey guys, any news on when the 8x8" 'objective' building listed at the top of the page will be released?
Also, they had these awesome little accessories at the Campaign: Paradiso event at TTW near London a few weekends ago.
Hope IJW doesn't mind I took this photo from his blog (best one I could find) [url]http://wargamingtrader.com[url]
So you had those really cool little drop pods (both open and closed), alien/human style control panels, and Alien 'beacons'. Any news on when any of these will get a release? I'd love to be able to get them to play the Paradiso campaigns!
PS - absolutely loved the idea of little acrylic tabs being inserted into the control panels, to show their 'status'!
Today we've released two new buildings from our District 5 range.
District 5 Guard House This model is delivered as a pack, unassembled and unpainted.
The parts of the model are designed to slot together in a way that allows for a quick and
easy assembly. It may be necessary to glue some parts of the model - use PVA (white) glue.
Every model is cut from one or more panels of HDF (high-density fiberboard) of 3mm thickness.
In the package you will find 3 boards.
The windows may be left armoured or may be taken out. The same thing applies to door in the building.
The building is compatible with rest of our District 5 product range.
Set contains 2 storeys
Length of the building 11cm / 4 inches
Width of the building 11cm / 4 inches
Height of the building 8cm/ 3,15 inches

Attention:
Before taking the elements out make sure they are fully cut. There are minor connections that prevent them from falling out.

Yes we're always trying to think about it. Sometimes we decide to get rid of some detail to make it easier to mount miniatures on the bases. The sculptors are aware about that.

We're preparing them for official release - you know painting etc. Thanks for sharing those pics
Very nice buildings - looking forward to picking them both up!
Another note on custom bases is to be aware of the implications of the height of the bases themselves - some of the bases which look to be designed for Infinity push the height of the model into a range that has consequences 'in game'!

XIX century Walkway
Does anyone know if this is compatible with the CityBlock 28mm buildings that Sarissa-Precision makes? Or at least close enough that it won't look really bad?

We strongly recommend to use acrylic paints. We tested lots of different paints and nothing significant happen with the model, but we can't guarantee that there will be no problems using other paints than acrylic. If you're not sure you can always paint the bottom of the foam terrain and leave it to dry. Than you will see if the paint is safe.
Those building look really neat and quick to build, although the best of your items are those bases! Really nice and well detailed and quite reasonably priced aswell, I'm impressed.
Most of you might know Microartstudio as one of the leading independent miniature companies. But what do you really know about them and their business except the shiny new custom bases you got from them last month? Not so much, hum?
Well, 40kings has had the chance to take a look behind the curtains of Microartstudio. And together with you, our beloved readers, we have developed a catalogue of interview questions based on what you always wanted to ask Microartstudio. In the following, the head of Microartstudio, Sebastian Makowski, has taken the time to answer your questions and give us and insight on how you make a living out of selling toy soldiers.
That's a really nicely done interview, a great website and all about one of my favorite companies - congrats all around!

Automatically Appended Next Post: For all you guys who are waiting for Campaign Paradiso stuff we decided that we are putting our products without pics. The proper painted objects and more description should be uploaded next week.
Some of you have seen it on sneak preview pics and on tournaments So we think you should be happy with the final look. Here are some pics we have managed to make. one is even painted
Just as a note Antenociti's Workshop have already started selling some of the terrain pieces, including these markers and also the new buildings from MaS.
We're happy to show you our new product waterslide Graffiti Transfers.
In one package you will find 5 of them.
One graffiti surface is:
50mm / 1,95 inch high
87mm/ 3,43 inch width
The colours may vary from those shown in the picture depending on the undercoat.
1. We strongly recommend to paint the surface of the terrain
piece with gloss varnish before applying the transfer.
2. Dip the transfer in water for around 30 seconds.
3. Delicately slide the transfer off the paper onto the terrain
piece using finger or brush.
4. Make sure no air is trapped beneath the transfer.
5. After the transfer is completely dry [around 12 hours]
you may gently remove the film.
6. Seal the transfer with matt varnish for best effect.
Those things are flapping fantastic. What a great, great idea.
@MicroArt --> I know it isn't typically 'your thing' but if you did painting tutorials for those mosaic (or any of your) bases, I bet even more people would be inclined to buy them!
Not sure if it is something to do with CB being a Spanish company? (although I know that's a different language but doesn't it look the same? Sorry for my ignorance! )
Bacms wrote: Just curious why is the text on those graffiti written in Portuguese?
I'm not sure which is Portuguese but if it's the Nomad picture it is probably because many of them are from Brazil. During the times of the Corregidor prison ship a lot of the workers (and prisoners) came from Brazil and Africa because of the orbital elevators. They were built on countries along the Equator. In fact I think it's a picture of a Moran Massai of African decent. On of the elevators was either in Congo or Kenya.
I think the future universe presented by Infinity is definitely a lot less US/UK centric - the background talks about asia (India - China) as well as South America coming to the fore over the next 100 years, so as a result you would have to guess there is less use of English, certainly less of it being the lingua-franca. So something like this would make a lot of sense.
For my board (which is set on one of the colony worlds, Acontencimento) I've tried to use bits of Spanish, Arabic, Russian, even Chinese and Korean on the shop signs just to try and give it more of a Blade Runner-esque feel.
And I don't know why, but they make me think of wanting to make an ancient ruins (but obviously alien), and have these bases on Infinity Combined Army and Tohaa fighting each other on it..
I like them a lot, actually. It fits thematically with Scibor's more-expensive, more-ornate, yet less-practical in large quantity bases.
Always great to mix!

I really like those upgrades for advertisements. The wind collector is great, good to see some smooth curved surfaces. Nice contrast to the more typical blocky sci-fi structures.

Today we have released two new products: Defence Line - TauCeti and Wraithstone. Both are a great piece of modular terrain not only for 40k fans The TauCeti one is a totally resin product the Wraithstone is a mixture of resin and transparent acrylics. The fortification set overall length is approximately 72cm / 28 inches
Hey now... Those tau ceti walls, in their constituent pieces, would make great scatter terrain for Infinity. Individually, they look a lot like generators, or consoles, or other generic sci-fi gubbins.
Just one thing:
Please don't make the large oval bases and 60mm bases random ordering. Take the extra 3 minutes and let the customer decide, which one he wants, esp. when he wants 2 different ones. Just now you can only get them when you are lucky.

You can always write in the commentary which base you are interested in We did it because we have the same codes for our retailers and shop and it's not so easy to coordinate everything in those both areas. It's easy to have options in one on-line store but when it comes to selling to retailers and distributors it can be tricky.

Do you have approximate weights of your various products? Or does the cart auto-update to the correct weight?
Yes we need to weight our products. Proper weight is important for our on-line store and retailers shipments, usage of material etc.
E.g. the tau ceti defence line is heavier than the wraithstone. On the other hand the wraithstone have additional acrylic parts that are more expensive than resin. In the end price for both is quite the same.

Any chance those defense lines will be available through U.S. stores (such as the Warstore). I nearly ordered one set, but between the VAT,shipping to the U.S. and conversion rate, it priced out more than I want to spend.
Perhaps I am the only one, but I really wish companies would make "toppers" instead (or in addition to) solid bases. Most models, especially metal or lopsided ones, tend to be top heavy and fall over on hills. The current solution is to glue a "slug" or a coin into the cavity of the base and make a low center of gravity. Solid resin bases don't have that cavity and they are usually fairly light-weight. This means I have problems making my Orks or tall metal models stay standing on slopes.
Wyrd has metal toppers which are nice enough but I have a pathological hatred of working with metal. Still, it may be the best solution give the bases used. Wrath of Kings is supposed to be using resin toppers from their existing line but it looks limited and I don't know how adaptable they are to the GW bases.

Guess I continue to glue sand to my bases. :(
We would like to make toppers but at this moment it's technical difficult to make good resin toppers using our technology. We've made some tests and the results were really not satisfying. The best toppers would be made out of plastic. Unfortunately good plastic manufacturing is extremely expansive, and we need to wait to be able to invest in this technology.
Some of our clients really like the resin bases because they are heavy. This way the plastic miniatures are more stable on the table.
Not to be a downer, but how is one supposed to put a mini on those Jungle bases and look like they're standing IN a jungle, and not ON a bunch of jungle plants.
I would love some jungle bases for my Infinity models, but I really don't think they would work just standing on top of a bunch of plants.
It looks like you would have to drill out places for their feet to go to look like they're walking through jungle foliage.

I'll find a way, those are going to be the new bases for my Kroot army, that's for sure. They're excellent.
I'm not sure if I'll simply pretend they're lighter than the foliage, like water striders, chop off one foot to make it look like they're stepping out of the plants, or something else entirely (dynamic jumping poses for the entire army?).
I've been waiting for someone to make proper jungle bases that don't have mesoamerican ruins in them to cater to Lizardmen armies, thank you!
Edit: After looking at them for a bit longer, I think the only way one would be able to pull it off would be to dremel an area of plants away for the feet and then attempt to 'rebuild' around them with some loose leaves or plants. The only thing I can think of off the top of my head would be the GW Death World Basing Kit:
It may take some effort to get the proper results, but since I enjoy the modelling aspect of the hobby I won't mind.

You're really going to need to do this for the flying stand base. :(
The only 'complaints' were - how do you get a miniature to look like he's actually IN the jungle, as opposed to ON the jungle?
Aside from some heavy dremmeling/modding, which would be a shame as it would also partially destroy the base, and it is beyond my modeling skills to then 'repair' the details.
Anyone have pics of what they've done wiht these bases, and other 'busy' ones like them?
Alpharius wrote: The only 'complaints' were - how do you get a miniature to look like he's actually IN the jungle, as opposed to ON the jungle?
Exactly. Having models stand on stone or road or whatever is expected, but standing on top of puffy leaves? And how are we supposed to stick a flight stand onto that big oval base?
Alpharius wrote: Aside from some heavy dremmeling/modding, which would be a shame as it would also partially destroy the base, and it is beyond my modeling skills to then 'repair' the details.
And that's going to be a problem unique to the jungle theme bases. Other "busy" bases are acceptable because they're sculpted to be something hard that a person in power armor would actually stand on or a chariot would roll over. Undergrowth is something you move through.
Chop off feet, pin onto base. looks as if feet are obscured by undergrowth.
depends on model if it looks good, though.
And really, with a flight stand I wouldn't worry too much - that transparent stuff is meant to look as if it "isn't there" anyway.
TBH I prefer brass rods painted black for flight stands and that would be easier, but you could easily just cut out a cross-shaped "slot" for the flight stand with a dremel or something like that to slot it into as well.
Bolognesus wrote: ...but you could easily just cut out a cross-shaped "slot" for the flight stand with a dremel or something like that to slot it into as well.
Easily? Clearly you missed the part I quoted from Alpharius...
