Time for another update. I've been painting up some bits of scatter terrain recently so i thought i'd post up some pics of the work in progress. The scatter terrain is mostly resin with some plastic barriers as well. Some pics below with a bit of a step by step of how they were painted.
A mixture of some crates, vending machines and barriers. All just the right height to provide cover in your favourite sci-fi skirmish game!

There was a bit of flash on some of the bits but nothing that couldn't be sorted with a sharp knife. Then it was on to priming.
I usually just use cheap car primer or paint mixed with gesso for minis but i had recently picked up some Vallejo primer so thought i'd give it a try. I'd seen it used straight from the bottle in airbrushes but it started to clog mine so i think a bit of thinning wouldn't hurt. Other than that it went on nicely and didn't obscure any of the detail on the pieces.
The pieces then got basecoats. There is a little bit of pre-shading on the panels for the barriers as well.
A bit of highlighting applied to the crates and a ghulam for scale. And a bit of shading and some stencils applied to the barriers.
I then changed my mind on the crates and went back and picked out some of the panels.
I've also been changing my mind on the vending machines so still have them to finish off, but should hopefully be done soon.
And all of the above was brought to you by the nice people at ..
