The =L=eague of Extraordinary Riveters Terrain Competition: Round 9° - Elementary
Welcome to the 9th round of the League of Extraordinary Riveters Terrain Competition.
The present Round’s theme is The Five Elements. Fire, earth, water, metal and wood constitute one of the classical sets of essential principles that constitute everything, and, as such, will be the base for the next challenge.
There are no other constraints: Size does not matter, nor do scale or game systems, all options are open on those accounts. Imagination and creativity are the only limits.
Rules:
(These will be updated and/or clarified as required)
1. Main requisite: The Five Elements - Fire, Earth, Water, Metal and Wood - must be represented on the final build. 2. Size does not matter. 3. Game system and scale have no restrictions whatsoever, all are welcome. Complete dioramas (as opposed to a usable in-game terrain piece) are also allowed. 4. Materials: All is permitted. Kits and bits are allowed, but remember scratch building and creative and inventive use of materials are part of the spirit of the Comp, and are regarded in the scoring. 5. WIP’s: Only an initial, unpainted, pic is required, but you are encouraged to post further WIP photos in this thread as well as on your personal Plogs. Both sharing progress and giving feedback are a fundamental part of the Comps, so don’t refrain on these. 6. Final entry: Please DO NOT post your final entry in this thread (the submission procedure will be updated towards the Comp’s end) Pictures are important. This is not a photography contest, but judging will be carried on upon the pics submitted, and the effort put in photographing a piece has its own rewards. 6 photos (front, both sides, back, top and scale) are the minimum requirement for the final entry. More, as many as wanted or needed, are allowed. 7. Rule of cool: Self-explanatory. 8. Have fun and enjoy the ride.
Running time:
Comp starts with the present post, and finishes midnight 11th May 2014.
I think two months is a fair running time, and would like not to extend it, though it is not absolutely ruled out at this moment.
Judging:
Points will be awarded on the following criteria:
Modelling (For a total of possible 30 points)
10 points: Materials. Scratch building outweighs bought kits; and recycling is encouraged. Creative uses of old or not traditional materials have a strong impact on this category as well. 10 points: Design. Lay out, balance, and creativity. 10 points: Overall Modelling: Detailing, tidiness, gap-filling and whatnot that make a well built piece.
Painting (For a total of 40 points)
10 Points: Basic, solid, paintwork. Neatness and crispiness. Basically, brush control 10 Points: Colour scheme and composition 10 Points: Effects: Texturing, weathering and the like. 10 Points: Advanced techniques: Wet blending, feathering, OSL, and all and any other upper tier painting skills displayed.
Impression & Interpretation (For a total of 20 points)
20 Points: Overall impression of the model and good representation of the theme.
Judge’s Rule of Cool (For a total of 10 points)
10 Points: To we awarded fully at the Judges’ discretion, coolness, creativity, out-of-the-bow thinking and doing something that has not been seen before are rewarded on this item.
First and most, League of Extraordinary Riveters lifelong Membership, accompanied by the honour and pride of winning (And believe me, having just won the previous Round, those are really something!), and according bragging rights.
I will also build my own take at the theme, to be given as complimentary price to the winner.
Hmmm....this will be a tough nut...I have currently no idea what an entry could look like...
In a nutshell: each entry should have representative items of the elements included, does this mean real fire and water or only convincing aspects of the piece must look like the real McCoy? I think I need the dummies manual for this one...but do count me in
Intrigued to see what you all come up with... When LT first proposed the idea I had a moment of inspiration and would love to see if anyone comes up with something similar to my crazed imagining... Now to sit back and watch...
Automatically Appended Next Post: Oh and for some additional inspiration...
I might have missed a couple of elements here though...

That would be AWESOME, but no, not the real thing, just represented on the piece...
As much as I would love to see a working piece displaying the five elements, I'd say fire and water, in particular, should better be kept away of the reach of (overgrown) children...
Good to have you on board, BtW, I know you'll come up with something soon enough!
inmygravenimage wrote:Interesting plan. You are some kind of crazy person ...
I am, and proud of it. Certifiably so, since I got my LoER Badge too!
(Now, that left me wondering: what does that say of the rest of the Club? )
And to make it publicly official, thank you for your offer, and welcome to the Judge's Panel!

Great to count you in!
A good start, I'd say, thanks to all for your support!
Now, hands on, people, lets get some creativity flowing!
Hmm, earth and water... piece of cake. The rest... oh. Given RL constraints, I may or may not be all in. I'll know soon enough. I'll be watching though, at the very least. Use of water though... so tempting...
Cool idea too. Don't forget to update your terrain competition link in your sig everybody.

@Red Harvest: Good to have you tempted with the theme, just hope you can join in. I'll put you down, tentatively, if that's OK with you (No pressure, )
Thanks for the sig code, too
@Vik: I knew you'd do! And it is OK to hold it secret for a while, just don't keep us in the dark for too long!
Well, I came in late the last time and Littletower was friendly enough to poke me so why not... worst case I don't finish but it's more about having fun than finishing so
I'm in! I do have an idea but I am going to work a bit on it before I give anything away.
@Red Harvest: A waterfall was one of the things that first came up to my mind mind when thinking about the theme, I'd surely love to see your take at that
@El-Torrminator: Great, good to have on board!
@granander: Cheers to friendly poking then Glad you joined in!
Pen me in Please! Good subject matter! Can see this being a very inventive and out of the box comp!!
Oh...... small point.... but i feel left out..... how do i go about getting the "Terrain Project" Banner in my signature..... ( I am ofcourse assuming that my participation in this and the previous round) allows me the banner in my signature!

My first idea was a steampowered mech of wood and metal... that would have been all elements in one model. But alas, not a terrainpiece
BUT, I have come up with another idea so we are still good.
Why not a steampowered mech that no longer moves
rigeld2 wrote:I have a brilliant idea but nowhere near the skills to do it... Or the time (selling my house and buying a new one)
Sigh.
No excuses now... Far too early in the comp for those...
Welcome aboard then MagosBiff90, plastictrees, zammerak, Flying Pooo and mars2024
And rigeld2, no, excuses not accepted (short of being away on a trip to the moon or receiving a Nobel prize - and I'm not 100% sold on the last one! -, you know you can squeeze the time !
Anyhow, and on a more serious note, good luck on the house deal, remember to ask for a good spot for your hobby table in the new place. And the Comp will be running for almost two months from now, and open until the last minute for entries if you can still make it.
@granander: If it does not move, it's terrain! And I really like the sound of that idea, might as well give it shot
I love the elemental subject matter, Cant wait to see how people incorporate all 5 elements in to their terrain.
Not sure at this point if I'll have the time to enter myself, but never say never .
Say, if someone by chance does the same terrainpiece ( for a granted amount of "same"), would it be a smart move to get your act together early to be the first to have his claim on said idea?... My idea is also quite the silly interpretation of the comps theme...
Personally my take is don't worry, just because you may have a similar idea to another scratchbuilder you'll no doubt build it completely differently (unless you are a sock puppet)...
Bad idea, fire, earth, metal and water... it just doesn't sound like a good combo; should we be worrying?
Viktor von Domm wrote: Say, if someone by chance does the same terrainpiece ( for a granted amount of "same"), would it be a smart move to get your act together early to be the first to have his claim on said idea?... My idea is also quite the silly interpretation of the comps theme...
I'd hardly worry about that, I'd think the theme is open enough to allow for very different takes on it. And even similar ideas would surely end up in very different builds once they though each one's personal touch.
On the other hand, I'm childishly eager to see some WIPs, so...
Hope you have a good and productive weekend, everybody!
Well I have seen these competitions for a while and always find it cool to see what people make.....now maybe it's my turn to make something.
I have been lacking in the terrain department as of late and maybe I should give this a shot.
I WON'T win but this will give me an excuse to make some terrain and fits sort of into an idea I had on a piece of terrain.
I will get some drawings going and try and work on some stuff this week!
@chiefbigredman: Glad to have brought you out, great to have you on board.
Wining? That's not the point, not at all, it's all just about enjoying the ride! (Not that true, actually: I did win the last Round, and I'm still bursting with pride from it )
Alright here is what I whipped up there last night, I still need to make another tree for the wood and try and make some flames for that firepit. For metal I'm not sure what I am going to do but maybe an old rusty bridge over the river? Not sure haha
Also it isn't the most functional piece of terrain because of the edges of the foam but maybe I will trim it down so its sloped not sure yet. My original idea was to have 2 waterfalls on each corner (one waterfall and the other a lava fall) and they meet in the middle but it would have had to be a really huge piece of terrain haha
I am unsure if I want this to be an above ground thing or make it a dark type scene.
It will be for Fantasy and I run Skaven so I might make everything pretty dark and have the trees black and scorched. My painting skills aren't very good so I don't know how that will work haha
^ lol been there. I decided I wanted to have a army themed piece and since I have been scratch building mega dreads a mek shop just made sense cheers hope to see WIP soon.
I have the idea. The time, OTOH, it is looking iffier. We have another 8" of snow on the ground here. Grrr. I can't do water effects, the epoxy stuff anyway, in the cold. And it smells too much to use indoors. So, it is back to the drawing board for now.

8 inches of snow total or added on to what you have? Is the city closed down like Washington was the other week? Come to Canada the snow stops NOBODY! To the garage you must go!!!!
Coming from MN originally snow cant stop production! Maybe this is Gork (or Mork) telling you to have a snow theme??? Cant wait to get off work and get back to da Meks shop!

Managed to make a start on my entry. I'm intending for this to be both a diorama as well as functional terrain. The elements are represented by Wood Elf Dryads (Earth and Wood) facing Tzeentch Flamers and a Herald (Fire and Metal). The base will be a section of woodland with a small stream running through. I'm also considering some of the terrain on the Daemon side to be dissolving where the flames have caught.
The Herald will be in the process of casting a Metal Magic spell, transmuting its immediate surroundings to gold. The Flamer at the top will be hunched menacingly over a very unfortunate Dryad.
I wont have much progress till next week though as I'm waiting on the Dryads to arrive so I can sort out the positioning. In the meantime I'll crack on with working out the base.
I got some work done today, nothing worth posting WIP pics for. Mostly fixing things, filling gaps, and staring at it waiting for ideas to come more pics should be up by the end of the weekend.
I must say though, I have learned a ton already from joining this comp.
Wait......does that count if we use models to represent an element?
Could totally throw some Stormvermin in Heavy Armour around that fire to represent metal if that is the case.....plus it's a Skaven camp anyways haha

As I said already, interesting approach, I'm looking forward to see how it develops.
I wouldn't forget, on the other hand, to still keep including the Elements on the base itself, terrain is key this time (Not meaning that you haven't, since water, earth and wood will have a "natural" appearance on the base given the theme, and fire and metal seem to be nicely included by the flames and gold coming from the Daemons)
zammerak wrote:I got some work done today, nothing worth posting WIP pics for. Mostly fixing things, filling gaps, and staring at it waiting for ideas to come more pics should be up by the end of the weekend.

Well, that'll give me at least one good reason to expect the end of the weekend then, I'm usually more fond of it beginning! Will be waiting for those pics

Of course you can, as inmygravenimage and zammerak put it, it is above all about interpretation.
Bear in mind only, though, that terrain is the key point in the Comp (So, an element represented in the terrain itself would overweight a movable/playable piece, and scratch building and creative use of materials will score more better than a bought kit.
I think you camp is coming along nicely, and a metal component can surely be added - you already mentioned a bridge over the stream, which I'd say would work out great - on that line.
But, as always, following your own mind, and coming up with something you like and adds to your tables comes first. That, and enjoying the build, of course.
hey mates.... good to see so many good entries so far....well....time for me to show my own stuff then, eh?...
the working title for my entry is "Grubz"...why?...well the theme is called elements ...so wood, water, fire, earth and metal have to be included for the terrain pieces...
funny fact is, there is a Chinese cooking school called five elements... (http://chinesefood.about.com/library/weekly/aa041900a.htm) ... so...my idea was to include every one of the five elements in a two folded way...: first I will use the elements in a direct approach ...use wood and metal and so on to show constructions... and then in a more metaphysical way as this is going to be a grot barbeque grill snack bar based on the five elements cuisine ...kinda....
thanks zammerak, the bitz are mostly older tank bitz, baneblade, ork and some old marine stuff.... actually not that hard to get items in my opinion...got the stuff mostly from bitz and kits and from random ebay lucky bags...
Hmm this is tempting. and sounds interesting. I know its a bit late, but i still have time. So count me in please, as my creative juices are flowing as i read through this You can never have too many projects
(Anyway i need to show my love of rivets to gain membership to =L= )
So I'm doing a bunker and stuff, my hands hurt, I cut my finger and I have vowed to buy a hot knife before my next project but it has all been worth it for now the fun begins
Next I'll put plaster cloth over top to smooth out all the jagged bits then its time for paint
HA! Hot knife? what is this magic you speak of? Sharp knives cutting your hands is what making terrain is all about. Really excited to see more WIPs. Lookin good.
zammerak wrote: HA! Hot knife? what is this magic you speak of? Sharp knives cutting your hands is what making terrain is all about. Really excited to see more WIPs. Lookin good.
The boys at the local store want to do a 4x8 trench network table in the near future, using the same techniques I utilized here, with a good hot knife we could do it in an evening and get on with the fun part of the build.
Eventually there will be a couple of log reinforced trenches in front of the complex. I was originally going to do a firebase with antitank weapon emplacements and morters, I got pretty far but hit a wall with the fire part of the competition.
I do believe that I will be throwing my hat into the ring on this one. I have a real need for more terrain and I have just the things in mind to go with my army...
Nice work going on in here. Great to see the different ideas for the theme, I've got a funny feeling that the judging is going to be very difficult again...
I have a fairly epic terrain piece idea that I have been wanting to do for some time that will incorporate all of the required elements. I want to make at least a section of, if not an entire tank manufactorum. Ruined of course.
Now I need to do a bit of work inside and buy a bit of paint before the next step...
Also those weapons mounts can take any imperial guard tripod mounted weapons, so if I want I can use auto or las cannons instead of heavy bolters, next will be the interior doors and wall supports...

I suddenly want to play a game in a tank manufacutorum... that sounds so freaking cool
As promised here are some more WIP. Barrel on top will be filled with water and have piping down to the shop. Interior is still in progress. I have a furnace in there for now, still gotta fill it with tools, scrap metal, and a buggy being built. Still along way to go but it is coming along. Roof is still magnetized for removal.
I believe the quote is go big or go home... I think it is because terrain is such an important aspect that is far too often ignored and this give people needed impetus to get on that terrain project they have been wanting to do.
Well to meet my vision I have to be able to fit two squads inside that thing, so its intended function (testbed for a tunnel board/usable bunker) dictated the size. Also lascannons are nasty with it - they can traverse farther then the HBs to the point of being able to all focus on a single target 10 inches away... its a little tempting to trash the HBs but they do look cooler and They are finished.
People, some really amazing WIPs over here I like how the theme has opened up into so different interpretations, can't wait to see more!

Not late at all, just jump in and join the madhouse club!
chiefbigredman wrote:Why is everyone going so big? looking good though!
Size doesn't matter (at least, that's what I've been saying to myself all this time) but I have to admit it, big does look cool!
So I got her painted and I'm starting on the scenery, once outsides done I'll move on to the inside, still need to do one more log bunker before I can start playing with dirt and ground foam, so far this comp has been worth it just for the fun, love all the wips that have been posted by you fine madmen
Looking brilliant. Have you fibreglassed the foam or something?
Barrel drilling is on the to do list, and I used a material called 'Plaster Cloth' its just gauze impregnated with plaster, they use it for making casts over broken bones and diorama scenery.
And the rock wall is cast plaster of Paris, a little heavy but this puppy won't be moved that much anyhow.
I'm re-using an unfinished terrain piece that I started for another contest but did not finish (or even get far on at all!). I've not done a huge deal as you can see, however, the plan is to turn the little platform into a lookout post and pile junk up around the base to form a "staircase". To fit in with the theme, a sewer pipe will be running out through the junk pile (which will have plenty of bits of wood and metal on it) with some sewage water - there may also be water runs down the "concrete". Around the other side will be a little sheltered area with a fire. There will be plenty of earth and dirt smeared around the place.
so....I am still alive and still working on my entry...even if I am currently slacking in keeping you all on the up and downs of my work...
which brings me to this...after last time showing you the cooking devices, now I will show you the WIPs of the place were the big squigg BBQ will be happening...:
the grubz diner will be placed in the remaining ruin of an old building...(I have to say I got really inspired by Camkierhi ´s current project...)
and here are the first pics of how I started with the build...currently it got it´s first coat of paint as later on I probably won´t be able to get everything painted as I will produce lots of not reachable spots in the end...
the plan is to add a makeshift roof for that I already have added two of three stands to build the roof ...more to this later on...
Well my smelter is now all built and has received a prime, but my can ran out so had to touch up the rest with a brush. just need to wait for that to dry and i can start on adding some colour.
This looks freaking amazing!! I've always wanted to scratch build terrain though I've never done it before. I don't know if I can try it for this round of competition because I am getting married in about 30 days. I will keep my eyes on this though and if inspiration should strike I will give it a go!
As a random aside... for the elements... don't earth and wood usually fall into the same category of earth? I've always seen the elements as earth, air, water, fire, and then spirit or metal or skulls or whatever.
Great jobs all around, makes me glad I'm not taking part, worried bout the judging, though...
@EyeamRai: "Just" getting married? That's not enough for an excuse (Cheers to that, BTW!)
As for the elements, there are several views on that across time and different cultures. The classical Greek elements are indeed Earth, Water, Air and Fire (Aristotle added aether as the fifth, quintessential, element, mistaking it for the true one, rivets!)
Oriental thinking show different takes on the topic, in Chinese thinking, the (loosely interpreted) elements of the Wu Xing are Fire, Earth, Metal, Water and Wood.
Me, I just liked the idea of using the basic elements as a common groundwork for different and original interpretations of the subject.
Closing into half-time now people, keep them coming!
My fiancé and I were talking about this challenge at breakfast this morning and we came up with a pretty nifty idea. I'm going to give it a go. I'm pretty sure my idea is WAY beyond my ability since I've never scratch built anything before but I'm looking forward to trying!
Update time, I must say it was nice to have some time off (working for a Swiss guy, so not really) now I'm getting back into my work, now I need a little paint and to let the gloss medium dry before I finish the drainpipes.
Heres the dirt.
Since this is 40K...
Bushes and the still wet pond.
I also playtested it a little yesterday and its a mean bugger, let me tell you, need to figure out the rules still.
Hi all!! I' sorry but real life stuff keeps me away from the hobby. I study hard for a certification and also want to steal some time in order to get married!
excellent works so far! I'll watch from afar...
Finally managed to get something resembling an update. Total lack of any recent progress is due to Uni work. I've got the rest of the models assembled and started on forming the base and layout. I'll continue developing the base and have a better update up tomorrow.
As far as the layout I'm pretty much set but I'm slightly unsure if it seems too busy. Considering possibly removing a Dryad, most likely the one in the bottom corner. Any thoughts on this?
Is it too late to enter this? If not, can I enter a series of themed terrain? I think the collection I'm building for my new 40k table might fit the theme.
Ok, I'm going for it, without the multi-part thing. It'll just be one piece - I've sussed out how to get all the elements into my current piece.
Started this a couple of weeks ago. Wanted a centrepiece for my 40k table. Started with a thin cut of mdf, and built a frame out of foam core. Built up the slope with foam core off cuts. The arch is an old aquarium decoration.
Bulked it up with paper mâché (it's a big piece, and I didn't want to put my back out every time I moved it.) then used an old tub of tile grout as a spackle.
I was a bit hasty drying it out on a radiator, and the ply warped, so I had to build up the edges with wood filler, then sanded and gritted the piece all over. I added more columns to make the structure larger.
I've done a little more tonight, but not worth taking any pics yet.
and a smouldering flamer tank, my sad excuse for fire.
Now I need to work on the interior and finish up the bolters, then I'm done, I tried using it in a game and got wiped out by it I see why bastions sell now, thats all I'll say...
As my idea still only exists in my sketchbook, I am going to have to drop out of this round. I will still build the piece eventually though! Hopefully I'll be able to join in on another round of competition. Good luck to the rest of you!
@eggs- you can always glue shims to the underside to level things, then add filler. You'll use less filler this way. Tile grout, yep. The kind with sand and without. Amazingly durable stuff, even when spread over that white styrofoam.
@mad_eddy whay are you using for a water effect? nice looking piece.
Some great stuff. Saddens me that I have not had any time to do anything. But at least I can cheerlead a bit. That is fun too.
I have a super idea but working with Swedens largest gaming convenction the months up to now and still working with evaluation has stolen ALL my time :( I really like the theme and I will build it, but I don't know when...

Woodland Scenics Water Effects and a piece of plastic bag - I plan on more water soon, it comes in a big bottle and is very handy...
This is sort of boring, not really what you'd expect in a military bunker...
So I added duckboards/traction plates...
And a door in that side passage, could be handy for scenario games...
Unfortunately my water is still a little milky but its getting better, slowly.
Anyhow thats all for now, I might ad some more to the inside, but its pretty cramped in games as it is so maybe not I was fiddling with electric lights but those can go in later, I can't find my battery holders, two of the three lights and it takes two months for the resistors to ship so its probably not going to happen ah well such is life, I'll do some weathering and then she's done (for now
Viktor von Domm wrote: I'd be interested, you said you used a plastic bag? That sounds like thinking outside of the box...you caught my attention even then...
Yep, the WE sticks to stuff great but it can't form long things like waterfalls, so I just glued a strip of clear plastic bag in between the pool and pipe and covered it in Water Effects, eureka, instant support that nobody can see.

Lay down a piece of wax paper and squirt the effects on it in lines etc. Let 'em dry, peel them off and you have falling water. I like your idea better though. Clear fishing line works great for streaming water, like from a hose or fountain or pipe, BTW-- Click the Infinity banner in my sig if you want to see examples I have in my Infinity terrain thread . I see Vic mentioned the clear fishing line too. Water effects are fun but they can take forever to dry sometimes.
Quick update time! I am still working on getting the right lighting when I take photos. (sorry about the shadows and what not [also the flash makes little white spots appear that are not visible by eye]) Getting closer to finished, still have most of the interior work. Good thing the weekend is coming up!
Hey ya'll I seem to have been visited by Papa Nurgul, nothing serious but I'm not sure if I'll be able to get 100% finished in time, I'll try the last little bit of painting tonight and I have a WIP waterfall tutorial for you guys in the works. Anyhow if I don't make the headline, it has been a blast working with you creative rivetheads and I hope we do this again soon.
Im pushing it into overdrive to finish up the inside of mine by sunday. I should be able to finish intime. Also i know it ends sunday but what time zone??

Good to hear you are there already Will be waiting for those pics!

For sure! Once the comp closes and the entries are submitted, all final pics will be published in a summing-up post.

Sorry to hear that, hope you get better in time, still one more weekend to go!
Even if you don't get it at a 110% finished, don't refrain from submitting it, I'd said it might be advanced enough to allow for that.

You'd better be!

Viktor von Domm wrote:interesting question...
we either went for CET or GMT but since LT is from Argentina...all bets are off...
Regarding the deadline, I'd propose midnight Sunday the 11th, your time zone. Honour-system wise, each submits their entry before their own weekend is over, to make the best possible use of each one's time (And nobody loses the chance to do a final touch up or to take daylight pics just for being westward of somebody else!).
Viktor von Domm wrote: good to hear your on the way to mend, and good to see the finished pics! lots of detail on such a big entry...respect!
What can I say I like scenery, because its for tabletop use I didn't go as fancy as I wanted, its actually easier to ad more detail after a certain point rather then keep it simple. And I have a water tutorial in the works, I'll post it up when I'm back in shape.
Finished. Whew! That was close. Got a bit rushed at the end, and photography was tough as the Mrs. took the camera for her trip this weekend. I may need a few more angles..
Bummer! I was really looking forward to seeing your idea get finished... you still have to submit final pics here so we can all see what would have been even if its not on time
And still on hold for any late-night last-minute contestants before calling it done.
Awesome work all around people, and thanks for taking part, it's been a blast so far, and next stage starts soon (us, judging, you, chewing your nails off )
Will be posting the final line-up ASAP for everybody's enjoyment!
Again, great work people, and thanks for taking part, it's been great to see your ideas develop and come to this!
Now, lets the judging begin...
Cheers,
LT
PS: I took the liberty of both sorting and somewhat selecting the pictures displayed, and adding in some cases a name or comment to an entry or pic. If you'd like to choose a different pic, or prefer to delete any of those lines, just let me know to edit it.
PS2: Sorry for the delay, nothing like wanting to do this write-up as soon as the comp closed for IRL to jump up on me and keep me tied-up until now!
From extremely over-the-top praise to straight-out bribe offers...
And to think I spent all those years and monies on therapy, counselling, self-improvement books, hypnosis and acupuncture sessions to improve my self esteem, when all that was needed was to get a judge's seat...
Seriously now, Judge's score-cards are coming in, and final results are just around the corner.

@Red: It might as well be, absolutely awesome city to be a tourist at, but I wouldn't go back to actually live in it! Too big, too crazy!
1.000 kilometres away now (over 620 miles, for some of you!), on the other side of the map, and happy about it (I still miss the great rivers every now and then though, but that mountains are a sight to behold!)

Cam, you will go down in the history of the league's competition winners as the only one winning for q second time! Congrats to you and thanks to all fellow competitors and of course to the judges and especially to Little Tower. Again, this has been a great round, and I'm proud to have finished my entry in time.
Now I am eager to know what cam can come up with...
