I've only got 8hp, so if someone could kill me (Damn Jensen), that'd be grand - that way I can stand back up again with the full 60 for the mall tomorrow.

It might help if you walk outside so that they dont have to swing in the dark.

Noon Eastern time is 9:00am Pac, which is perfectly fine with me.
EDIT: I should have 40+ points then, too; assuming I don't catch a headshot in the meantime. But someone has to open the doors for me; doors are my nemesis.
I like how the fellow on the right near the front doesn't appear to be zombified - looks like he just wandered in without realising it was a zombie rave...
Dark Apostle 666 wrote: So doors are Az's weakness, and Kronk has a thing with plate glass windows... perhaps some day I too shall find an architectural nemesis!
You could try jumping out of buildings as a human. That tends to make a splash...er...splat.
And as a complete non-sequitur...I now count 29 of us that are active in Malton but I only have 26 of us listed in the contacts.
So three people are part of The Nurglings but we don't have their profiles yet.
phantommaster?
Steve steveson?
Who else?
...and I have met Sevatar in the game but I don't know who he is?

Eat him outside! We don't want any crumbs in here. Plus, you will hit him more often outside. It's dark in this bank.
Dark Apostle 666 wrote:Capealio just syringed another Zed-head outside the bank! Watch your backs gents!
He'll get a nasty surprise if he comes inside though...
I doubt he will come inside. It costs him 10 AP to use each syringe so he will probably run out of AP before he makes it through the zombies standing outside.
Yeah, I doubt he'd be that stupid, considering his level he probably knows better... and I'll eat outside, I'd hate to make a mess in our nice new lair!
Civilian known as Awwman outside the warehouse 1 block north of the bank - is he one of ours? I don't have enough AP to go kill him and get home, so feeding rights are first-come-first-serve, I'd say...
What do you mean? Like quit playing for ever? In that way just stop, you'll eventually go MIA and "disappear" from the streets. No one can see your body or anything.
DA's Forever wrote: What do you mean? Like quit playing for ever? In that way just stop, you'll eventually go MIA and "disappear" from the streets. No one can see your body or anything.
True. After five days of inactivity, your character basically turns invisible. If you come back to the game, your character starts wherever you stopped playing.
I'm planning to tank the barricades at about 5 GMT, which is about 12 in the states.
If you guys can wait til then - maybe even later, I've got a busy day - I'm happy to claw at the 'cades so y'all can get the juicy innards.

Bah. I'm leaving work ealry today. I'll be off at 4.45 GMT and home about 5.45 GMT. Am I better off attacking the baracades just before leaving or waiting to see what happens buy the time I get home?

5 GMT = 6 BST = 7 CET = 1 EST = 2 CST = 4 PST?
Have I got those time zones correct? 7 CET is good for me.
EDIT: I should have 46 AP by then.
If it make any difference another zed and I are already on the NW corner of the Mall and would prefer not to have to spend 2ap to move, I only have 10 left.
There's also some other Nurglings north ATM at Club Izzard.
This will also open the mall up to a surprise attack to another location if the Oomies think we are bent on the NW.
kronk wrote:

Just need clarification on the place. NW corner is fine by me.
This isn't even remotely correct, Kronk.

No worries! We are getting into that mall no matter what. Even if we have to throw kronk at them twice!
Ok, I walked over and opened the door...this is what I see:
You are inside Mitchem Mall. Trails of looted debris litter the floors and escalators. The doors to the street have been left wide open. Also here are Stryker II, Nina Narelle, Kittah, Jethro Fairweather, awwman76, FishApologist and Hunter5988.
A portable generator has been set up here. It is out of fuel, and connected to a powered-down radio transmitter.
Somebody has spraypainted HH good, nurglings bad onto a wall.
You fumble open a door and, leaving it ajar, enter the building.
WWWWWWWWWWWWWOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO The walls are breached, and we need to capitalize on our success - all Nurglings to the North West corner-its dinnertime
Let's see if it lasts for 16 minutes when all of our friends show up.
This place is crawling with humans. I killed one (Striker II) and I still count at least 15 of them including FOREIGNWARS, Balricaso, KarlHeins, and mcgennies. I think I owe all of those humans a beat down.
There's something about this fething building that fritzs my Oomdar. I stormed I'm like trooper and whiffed 16 attack exempt the first one on Jethro but someone had killed him between screens updates.

No one will understand me but I could not resist.
Ah, you started as a civilian instead of a zombie so you still have to get enough XP for Death Grip.
I've only got 1 or two AP left now myself (Fish took some effort). I see there's 9 other zombies in Mitchem NW; should I stick around in (relative) safety in the numbers, or should I use my last couple AP to run back to Corliss?

It depends...
Me, I went back to Corless.
...and the humans have finally noticed...
26.34 MHz: "8 Zeds in NW Mitchem. Clear them out!" (2 minutes ago)
Hmmm... we'll see how this plays out. Also, I seem to have lost AP! I had 3 a minute ago, and now I list as 1. Is that a glitch, or can some skill do that to me?
I'm down to 1 AP... it'll take 1 to go outside Mitchem, 2 to get to Corliss, and 1 to enter Corliss. Until I have all 4, I may as well stay in Mitchem NW, just because if I do get killed, I want the humans to spend as much AP as possible dragging me out. I'm not doing those filthy life-livers any favours.
There are 9 zombies currently in NW Mitchem, and Hunter5988 has only like 24 HP left, I believe. If anyone wants to make a final parting gesture to the humans, he's the guy to carve the message into.

May have just been a screen display error. There are no skills that will remove your AP as far as I know. Did you do any actions that would use up an AP like speaking?
Sometimes the computer will also keep attacking if you click too many times. So you think you swing once but you actually swing multiple times.

Yeah, the free chicken bit sounds about right. This time tomorrow I might even get me some Lurching Gait off of, uh, "welcoming our brethren back into the fold".
Mind you, next time I'm human I'm gonna search for a flak jacket. I get shot a lot. (Do Flesh Rot and flak jackets stack with each other?)

No, they do not stack.
I figure it will take me too much AP and time to search for one so I am just going to hold out until I get Flesh Rot.
On the upside, he deployed for -2 at the Cloud Cityining Room, which is free since he cost 2.

Yeah, I think that's the guy that shot me five times at the bank.
Using a DNA extractor on a zombie will give you the affected zombie's name, a profile link and checks for brain rot. If you are carrying a revivification syringe, an option to revive the selected zombie is included. This item requires NecroTech Employment to use, but gives 4 XP for each successful use and adds the coordinates of the extracted zombie to the NecroNet. DNA Extractors have an unlimited number of uses.
Using a DNA extractor on a non-zombie wastes an AP, and displays the following message: NecroTech need DNA samples from the dead, not the living.
Once a zombie has been tagged with an Extractor, it may not be tagged again until it makes an action ā information about the zombie is shown to the NT employee, but there is no XP gain from the extraction. Once all zombies in a block are tagged, only the one on top of the "stack" can be DNA extracted, repeated attempts only result in the information from the top zombie being accessed. Only tagged zombies show up on the NecroNet map.
Brain Rot's scan difficulty has reset after the brief change in DNA Extractor use, but it still automatically informs the user if all zombies in a group have been scanned upon scanning the first zombie.
Repeated extraction attempts on zombies in a stack move down the stack with each attempt. However, if the attempted Zombie is rotted and the scan is unsuccessful, it may take multiple extraction attempts on the rotted Zombie before one is successful (from 1 to 5 or more attempts).
After a successful scan of a rotted Zombie, subsequent scans will proceed down the stack.
If the scanned zombie has brain rot, the following warning is shown after the zombie's specifics: Warning: Cortex damaged. Do not attempt to revive.
Frankly it doesn't do much except give them some XP. You are visible in the NecroNet but that is only useful to them if we are near a Necrotech building and there is not one of those in Vinetown.
Hey guys, been real busy at work and packing up to move so haven't had a chance to do much munching.
Going to shamble over to the mall and do as much damage as I can, but wil be away for a few days after that as I'll be moving during the weekend.

I was outside the mall thinking whjere the feth is everyone?
I then noticed that the barricades were down, and proceeded to lurch inside and get balerisco or something down to 34 HP , I'm now 60 xp...er YAY! at this rate i should have 3 skills after about 3 months.

Hi Disco, I added you to the contacts list in the original post for this thread. Where did the game start you?
EDIT: Oops, I just noticed that you are in the bank.
mcgennies came into the bank and killed Fitzz. That was a bold and futile attack, because Fitzz had a lot of AP so he simply stood up again, moved to the Mall, and wrecked face. mcgennies did close the door so it would help if someone can reopen them.
Fitzz, I hope the move goes well! I've got to move at the end of this month so I can sympathize with your pain.

Hi, I popped here to say hello from Tyrant's Legion (we are the reinforcements Eetion gathered over at New Badab forum). You might have noticed (from under that pile of bodied outside Mitchem Mall) that we've now joined in the assault. My ID link, in case you want to add it into your contacts, is: http://www.urbandead.com/profile.cgi?id=2124699
Anyway, I've got one suggestion and one question for the Mitchem Mall battle...
Suggestion: Instead of taking a bite off all the humans and then running to the relative safety of the bank (or Club Izzard which Tyrant's Legion used as hideout) we should probably just stay put. Sure, getting shot in the head takes us 10 to 15 AP next day we rise up, but it also takes them humans the 11+ AP they need to drop us and dump our bodies outside so they can start barricading again. If we run away and leave no bodies to hold the mall, then they start barricading again and we probably use a lot more than 10 to 15 AP to run away, return and break the barricades gain, no?
Question: Whats the official munching time for todays attack? Last night I was all prepared to start my attack run on 18:00 GMT exact, but as zombies are really bad with watches I luckily saw that Mitchem was open even before that and could join in right away
Anyway, I'll be following this thread to coordinate our attacks.

All Flesh MUST be Eaten!
Welcome Polaria, we are glad to have you, Eetion, and the rest of your strike team in the Mitchem Mall fight!
We can certainly try to hold a corner of Mitchem Mall, but that tactic only works if we are able to kill all of the humans in that corner and then ransack it. We tried that tactic two days ago and lost badly because the humans were rebuilding faster than we could kill them. Now that we are stronger in numbers, I'm willing to try to hold the ground.
Shaax went into the mall in search of brains. I stood up and followed him with my meagre AP after recovering from my earlier headshot and we're now in the northwest corner again. We got in via the breach in the northeast of the mall, though I don't know if it's still there. There was another zombie here, but they got whacked a while ago.
At the moment, there are two survivors in this corner, but there are lots more in the southwest.
So we might try and take/hold a section of the mall? sounds mildly suicidal... I like it!
At the very least, it'll be a glorious banzai charge against the enemy forces, and if we do succeed in ruining a section...
Well, it sounds like a win/win situation to me
Need a door opener at NE mitchem ASAP!
There's 11 Zed-heads waiting outside, and the barricades are down - so if someone can open this thing up, we might even stand a chance of taking the place...
Gennie destroyed and NE ruined. If anyone in Corless or the NW corner could come jump in the NE corner instead, to prevent them retaking, that'd be grand.
Already - with plenty more levels for you guys to go up - the Nurgling's have Vinetown on the ropes.

Yeah, once more people have flesh rot and higher levels etc., then it will be much easier to hold the ground. I've always been a fan of the "meatshield-hold-your-ground-take-it-like-a-boss" strategy, where we do stay put as you suggest (hence my 200 deaths).
But with the so many needles flying about, low levels, and being stuck outside, rather than inside Mitchem, I can kinda understand people wanting to run too. At the moment we're predominantly using hit and run attacks to build up peoples xp, rather than the classic zombie hit-and-hold strategy. But I'm definitely up for either.
As for the strike time, its difficult, cause there's a lot of Brits and Yanks, so it varies, but usually around 4gmt I suspect.
But indeed, as JB said, welcome aboard! Is your horde also 40K themed?
Also, just be aware Polaria, but the Vinetown harmans have found us on this forum before, so its not entirely confidential per se...
They can keep spying on us but their tragedy is that their numbers are low and most are XP capped, while our numbers and levels are growing all the time... The time is on our side
I've noticed the best weapon humans have against low level zombies is the needle, but we have the cure: Brain Rot takes care of those needle wielding maniacs for good.
And yes, Tyrant's Legion is mildly 40k themed as we are coming from New Badab forums...nudge, nudge, hint, hint.
polaria wrote: They can keep spying on us but their tragedy is that their numbers are low and most are XP capped, while our numbers and levels are growing all the time... The time is on our side
Exactly. Many of the Nurgling's are low levels at the moment, but we're getting more and more powerful with each day, and it can really tell. What kinda situation is the Tyrant's Legion in?
I've noticed the best weapon humans have against low level zombies is the needle, but we have the cure: Brain Rot takes care of those needle wielding maniacs for good.
Yup. Definitely, and then they're just burning ammunition and you're standing up for a max cost of 6ap. Although it takes a few levels to get brain rot and the powerful claw attacks, but everything is so much rosier when you have brain rot.
And yes, Tyrant's Legion is mildly 40k themed as we are coming from New Badab forums...nudge, nudge, hint, hint.
Nice. I'm afraid I'm not joining other forum's until I've finished my work - procrastination ye see - which is the same reason I've not joined B&C too yet, but I'm sure someone (maybe JB?) will head over for us.
I joined the fray and killed Karl Heins. I also ransacked and ruined the NW corner before falling back to the NE corner.
If anyone else is coming to Mitchem Mall, the doors in the NE corner are open. It might also be worthwhile to break down the barricades and open the doors in the NW corner. Since I ruined that corner, the humans will not be able to rebarricade as long as one of us is still standing there.
You guys are getting to be lethal.
Just Dave, I agree that we are a threat to Vinetown but I still think the humans have the upper hand. We still need more veteran zombies...enough to drive the humans out of most of the resource buildings and ruin them.
I just laid into Hunter big time and in characteristic notpopped style took him down to 22hp with one mighty hit from 15AP!

I got over excited and attacked the southeast corner on my own (hey it was only one survivor the odds must have been in my favour this time right). Naturally my first blow landed but the following 7 haymakers didn't land.
I'll be retreating in the next hour, but man this game is easier when you have 11 shotguns tucked into your pants!
Bah only 1 AP. Im going to hang about in the north east corner until i have enough to actually do something. And of course meatsheild against a counterattack from this area/direction.

I think the big thing - before we start ransacking the rest of Vinetown - is to hold onto the mall. Mainly, through taking down the rest of the barricades in all corners, ruined or not.
Therefore they'd have to repair and re-cade all 4 corners at once to hold onto it.
Not much AP but I'm moving in to the SW area to lend what help I can. At the very least as another body for them to attack. Ill spread my attacks around to make myself a target to all of them.

I agree with you, Dave. Ruin the entire mall and rip down all of its barricades.
And if anyone hasn't noticed, the Tyrant's Legion of zombies (Eetion polaria, and at least three others) are helping us in this fight!
I have a dream. A dream of free Vinetown without barricades and locked doors. A dream of a town where every zombie can shamble around, eating harmanz without being barred from entering a building.
I have a dream of Vinetown being red suburb on the map of Molton. A Vinetown where every building is inhabited by zombies and harmanz are driven to the streets to be slaughtered like the cattle they are.
We have opened the Mitchem Mall. We have opened the doors. But it is you, each and every zombie, who must take the first step through these open doors.
Tear down these barricades! Make Vinetown Ourtown! All flesh must be eaten!

Just two left in the SW mall - nothing to do with me obviously but a Zed called Jethro Fairweather just snagged a survivor. Fairweather is obviously well named because he was part of the survivors yesterday when we attached the mall!
They're turning my brothers!
Brother Polaria's manifesto of change has broken their spirits and is beckoning them to the fold.
Now go mental and distory the generator, radio and barricades, along with anything else we can find, then try and spread out evenly as we can to give maximum coverage whilst we rest up?

Yes, you understand zombtactics!
I haven't seen the Shyar folk other than Karl Heins. Someone else shot me several times, but is not visible in the mall right now.
It only makes banks, clubs and cinemas dark, it won't affect the mall or most buildings and therefore our hit rates, but will piss off the harmans.
True...it will reduce their chances of successful searches as will the ruined status of the Mall. We have made Mitchem a very poor (and dangerous) resource center.
...but they will come for us...so expect more chances for XP.
There's a warehouse one space west of NW mitchem - I think the lights are on in there, D'you guys think we should send a little gatecrashing party to check on it at some point? I'd go look now, but I'm still out of AP...
Maybe tomorrow, unless anyone knows of a better target?
By the way, should we tear down the barricades surrounding NW, SW and SE blocks of Mitchem Mall or let them stand for now?
Letting them stand would mean the humans can come to us only from NE, but on the other hand tearing them down would mean they have a hell of a job to do if they manage to throw us all out... Then again we DO have 24 zombies inside the Mall now so it might actually take them a while to throw us out even if they can do it.
Figure 24 hrs...I say tonight...since its Friday....we be seeing a big push from da humies....Probaly a lot of "WTF just happen?!?!?!". Hhhhmmmmm bongo's.....idea for Kronk mini just pop in my head......need some helmets.....

Yeah, they'd be bloody stupid if they didn't try to hit us now that most of us are low on AP. So brace for impact!

It makes sense to leave them at Heavily but there is no need to leave them at EHB or VHB.
I added Tyrant's Legion as a zombie group active in Vinetown. If you have a group icon let me know where I can grab it so that I can add it to the Wiki.

We need to tear the barricades down.
We've sacked Mitchem before and its surprisingly easy for them to retake it - particularly if we dont leave it heavily inhabited - but completely stripping the place out makes it A LOT harder for them.
It's a pain, I know, but it shouldn't be too bad with so many of us.
"There is a mob of fourteen other zombies here, ten of them from your horde. You recognise Brains McVee, Rockie Piggo, M'kar, Kay VanRaven and Joshua Lemon amongst them.
"There is a mob of fourteen other zombies here, ten of them from your horde. You recognise Brains McVee, Rockie Piggo, M'kar, Kay VanRaven and Joshua Lemon amongst them.
There is a dead body here."
I think you need to add some of the other new members to your contact list.
I've got a grand total of 33 contacts now, including Azenine's, that about right?
And like JB says, I'm still a Zed, thus far I've avoided getting syringed - but feel free to take a bite out of me if you need it - I'm generous like that
So, who's the 5th zombie in the NE section? I've got this:
"There are five other zombies here, four of them from your horde. You recognise Ossifer Butthead, Savus Jebus, Slow and Purposeful and Damn Jensen amongst them."
I updated the contact list in the original post of this thread to just show the current 31 Nurglings, the four Tyrant's Legion (missing one profile link), and Azenine the Lone Wolf.
We may start getting some help from Warseer. Polaria started a thread there.
Note that The Nurglings 31 members includes two inactive players (Manchu and Cannerus), one player (Phantommaster) who has been unable to link his profile, and one unknown player who apparently joined our group today but has not notified me yet).
Also in the list is one player (purplefood) that still has an older group name. He is not one of the 31 players that shows up as The Nurglings in the game stats.
Also be advised that some other Urban Dead players (possibly survivors) are reading this thread.
You might say that their interest is a sign of your success.
4 zeds have been syringes in the SW mall, 7 of us still standing.
Ps thanks for the fireworks Zed leader, you really have made ViMM day very special for me. Someone pass me the chicken..I mean Porkins...no I mean chicken.

And sure, scouting is in my job description after all
Good man! These needles are proving to be a real pain, so I'm wondering if you'd be able to find their main source; which Necrotech they're using the most?
If you get a chance, could you check which NT building's they're using, starting with the Maver Building (SE Edgecombe, near Shyar, as I suspect that's their main one)?
Even if they're using it or not, if you could see if anyone's in Mayer - and any buildings on the way there - that would be great? It's also a Revive Point too FWIW.
Azenine wrote: Okie dokie, I'll get onto it tomorrow morning (out of AP right now). I'll head for the Revive Point and see if they could syringe me. I'll report my progress back here as i go along
Buffet line? A table per room.....eerrrr living body?

If we tear down the remaining barricades and keep the building ruined it will just become increasingly harder and harder for the living to get it back.

True, that is why I came back inside and ruined this corner again.
Now I'm working on the barricades while keeping a few APs in case a survivor pops up.
This should be a good test to see how many active humans are lurking in Vinetown. It has always been too survivor heavy so our presence is helping to make this area more interesting.

So who's in the mall and human? I've got a hankerin' for chicken.
There is going to be a lot of Free Chicken today. All revivified Nurglings should reenter the NE corner.
I need 23 more exp for another skill, and since I'm already in the mall, I think Rend Flesh is the best option. I'll still be slow as heck, but hit like a truck when I get there.
Azenine, you should go back and edit your posts, take your profile link out, and any other pertinent info in case survivor lurkers pick up on it and start targeting you. Stealth is the name of the game.
- I jumped back into the mall, kept working on tearing down NW
Steve steveson wrote: Apparently I'm not worth killing. I feel so ignored and unwanted coming back and finding I'm the only one left dead in the SW mall :(
Anyway, I've moved back to the NE mall because I felt somewhat exposed on my own. Now, where's the warmies! I needs me some xps!
There should be lots of folks standing up later as humans. There were lots of syringes used last night.
I went ahead and took Brain Rot as a skill so they will have to shoot me to death from now on.
Everyone needs at least three skills: Vigour Mortis (the default Zombie Class skill), Lurching Gait, and Death Grip.
Ideally, we should all have those three skills before we move to the next phase of our conquest of Vinetown.
Additional very useful skills: Ankle Grab (less AP cost to stand up), Rend Flesh (more damage), Memories of Life (open doors), and Ransack (able to ransack and ruin buildings).
Optional useful skill: Brain Rot (syringes no longer work on you)
Does anyone know Noctus' profile link? I don't have it so I could not update our contacts list.
It might be useful to have a members only access forum where you could communicate with a small group of us - Polaria, Eetion, Just Dave, myself, and some of the other highly active players.
Eventually, when you get the ability to spray paint, it will be nice to post some recruiting messages for other zombies in Vinetown.
While Brain Rot seems like a decent idea (especially with Flesh Rot increasing survivability), it might be a decent idea to make sure that we have a few of us without Brain Rot, because I have an idea:
We all take Ankle Grab and Free Running. Then, after we get hit with syringes, when we are in human form we could ensure that someone with that infecting bite chomps on us, and then we free run through the barricades, timing it so that the infection kills us after we're inside. Then we immediately stand back up (only 1 ap) and begin munching on everyone inside a VSB++ place.
We teach them that even behind walls, they aren't safe.
Azazel, that sounds like fun! Just make sure that you also have Death Grip and possible Rend Flesh so that you can do some damage as a zombie once you stand up inside.

It might come in handy on some buildings that we don't want to hold on to but that we want to deny to survivors.
So yes, it does look like we want a squad of us without Brain Rot but well equipped with Free Running, Ankle Grab, Zombie fighting skills, and a crowbar or fire axe.
Any volunteers to become the Zombie Parachute squad?
