Odd, but it has happened before. Perhaps it will assign you an ID number later...or maybe you just have to refresh your screen while on your profile page?
Puzzling...
...but not as puzzling as the barricades at Ling which are ever so close to being destroyed...
I'm actually pounding on the generator. Knocking out the generator it seems improve our attacks....its low on fuel and last hit I made it falter. I Az is on Kerrang...thinking most of the Nurg's on the little guy first before we move up to the big guy....unless he runs screaming like a wench
Dude, take it from the people who have been playing the game for a while, and the wiki if you don't believe us, that wrecking the generator makes it harder to hit people.
A wide open but ultimately empty building, rotten fist bumps all round. I'd chest bump but some one put a .38 through it and I'm ouzing over my clean threads.
Conversation said they headed to boulter way but my screens clear. Where to next?
Monster Rain wrote: Dude, take it from the people who have been playing the game for a while, and the wiki if you don't believe us, that wrecking the generator makes it harder to hit people.
It does. It really, really does.
Monster Rain is a Level 43. He's seen a lot of successful and unsucessful tactics.
Only banks, cinemas, clubs, and fort armories are affected.
Jihadin, your attacks only have an effect if you get an XP. Attacks that shake barricades, for example, are normally a miss.
I ruined Ling Police Department. We need a new target. Some possible Courses of Action:
1. Ransack and ruin nearby buildings, Attrill Bank and Bubcar Towers.
Pros: poorly defended, short walk to them, will lengthen Free Running Route from Shyar to Mitchem Mall, takes the phone tower in Bubcar out of operation
Cons: fewer humans for XP
2. Attack and ruin Goodford Road Police Department.
Pros: Ruining all police departments around Shyar will make it harder for survivors to find ammo and other resources
Cons: Three buildings to walk
3. Attack and ruin Caunt Street Police Department.
Pros: Ruining all police departments around Shyar will make it harder for survivors to find ammo and other resources
Cons: The Shyar survivors are likely not using this resource point, four buildings to walk
Strategically, I would favor a scorched earth policy around Shyar with all resource buildings ruined in a five or six block radius and all other buildings ruined in a two or three block radius to stop them from Free Running. However, most of the horde needs to build better attack and movement skills first.

I love that only in death do we find true democracy.....we should scrap it, JB for Zombieking!
If not my vote goes for the nearest PD, preferably closest to the mall: the ransacking of which must be our ultimate goal (and Xp mother lode!).
Manchu started this merry band. Fitzz, Monster Rain, Just Dave, Grakmar, Benamint, Casey's Law, and quite a few other guys are the core veterans. I am just more active and talkative right now.
We definitely want to trash Mitchem Mall at some point, but I'm not sure our strength is enough to succeed. An attack there would draw an immediate response. Personally, I favor ruining Attrill and Bubcar right now to take out the phone tower while keeping an eye on Ling. I bet some tasty survivors return to repair the police station.
Once we ruin Attrill and Bubcar, we can blaze a trail of devastation to Goodford Road Police Department. By that time, most of you should be Level 2.

I vote for this. I'm only about 17 exp short of upgrading my attack, so I'm sure I'll find some unfortunate survivor that wanders into the nearby police stations.
I'd say Attrill and Bubcar. The formers often got harmans in it, and then we can drop back to ruined ling to recover when we're down to 2ap.
We're definitely too low a level to be able to take Mitchem yet, but actually it may be the best target to build up y'all xp; as there will be so many targets and fleshy-snacks.
So I reckon, after today, we target Mitchem. We won't be able to overrun it, but it should be the best place to build up xp?
I'm in crowbank right now, as soon as I wander in I need munching on.....Names same as here.
I'll then get flesh rot and set to work munching some survivors.
Oh crap, didn't realise you were in a dark building, sorry!
Generally, you don't want to attack anything in a dark building because it's such a pain to hit (which I don't think makes sense for the zombie perspective, but hey...) and AP can be better spent elsewhere.
However, you always wanna destroy gennies after clearing out the humans (or before) as they're a very important resource for them and can make banks/cinemas/clubs dark (and therefore harder to repair); but it's probably not worth it in a building that's dark already.
On which note, dark buildings actually provide us a slight tactical advantage in that whilst they decrease our hit ratios, they also decrease theirs and we don't have limited ammunition! But typically, you don't wanna bother attacking in a dark building unless you've got nothing else to do. Sorry for the confusion!
I'm game but would like to take out Pilyer on our way. Didn't we get repulsed at Pilyer the last time?
I can't remember, the braaaaaaains not what it used to be!
We'll get kicked out of Mitchem if we do attack it, but I expect it will have a lot more harmans in it and therefore more opportunity for people to build xp quickly?
Me and two others are in Ling. I've got just over 30 AP and wanna translate that into exp, does anyone have a line on some tasty humans? I -really- want to upgrade to Death Grip.
Azazel, move east to Attrill Bank and then SE to The Pilyer. You might spot a human outside of the Mall just east of Pilyer. Or humans in Pilyer might come outside to kill you.
Life is risky by the Mall...sort of like Shyar and Gelasius and the police stations.
You can also get XP from hitting other zombies but it is only half of the value you would get for hitting humans.
I don't want to encourage zombie-on-zombie violence. Only together, we shall overcome.
I'm hanging out in Attrill for now. I do think that Goodford Road PD might make a decent target, though. Not too far away, either. Also, I just ate the generator at Attrill. We are now in darkness.
You're welcome to attack me - Damn Jensen - for xp, as most harmans will be hiding in houses and it would only cost me a very minor amount to stand back up.
But otherwise Pilyer may be a good choice, just be sure you'll have AP tomorrow if we're raiding mitchem. What time is best for people?

It was already dark because the generator was out of fuel.
Did you get any XP for destroying it? Kronk put three hits on it to help you out.
Goodford is a good future target . More of you still need Lurching Gait and Death Grip first. Pilyer is next door and Mitchem Mall is just beyond Pilyer.

Four? Wow!
The humans will come back to Ling and they won't be able to use Free Running to enter it so they'll walk through the door.
Hopefully they won't show up in a big group with a corn cob. Who else is there with you?
At the moment, I regret to announce that Patient 13 is lying dead with a bullet in his brain courtesy of Balricaso, outside the Pilyer hotel... and I'll be here until I regain 14 AP to stand up, sadly.

Ouch! They say the Recce guys measure their expected lifespans in an engagement in seconds.
So now we know that The Pilyer is defended by a higher level human. And we owe Balricaso payback.
Got a hit in....3 HP left.....fer gawdsake....someone kill him.....he's taking on the form of the Energizer Bunny......and I BBQ that little bastage two weeks ago....
Vinetown is the second column from the right and the fourth block from the bottom. You can see the three red (ruined) squares where we are right now. Hopefully we can add The Pilyer to the conquest list today and then on to Mitchem Mall.
By the way, someone broadcast over the radio that he was going to destroy Mitchem. Was that you, Monster Rain?
Lost My Dog has 111 XP. Why not purchase a skill? I recommend either Lurching Gait or Death Grip. Since we are not walking far, Death Grip is probably more useful immediately.
I'm at the Pilyer now, too, but lacking AP. The barricades are only "heavily barricaded". I figure by about 9am pacific I'll be ready to cause some pain to whoever's inside.
Back at Ling, I kept getting notifications that the same two survivors kept killing zombies; but the survivors were never to be found. I assume they're holed up nearby and just popping up to take potshots and retreating.
I would very much like to collapse whichever building they're hiding in.

They come out of the building, attack, and then reenter at a building that is less than heavily barricaded. Survivors usually keep a building around that is their entry point. Once inside a building, they use Free Running to move between adjacent buildings. Ruining buildings helps to break that Underground Railroad. If they try to Free Run to a ruined building they might lose 5 HP and they end up outside the ruined building in the open street where we can see and attack them.
Jihadin wrote:Actually....how many blocks...in one shot...can they free run...say 3 blocks one move. With Ling building last position for entry.
You trying to map where they're holed up in? me too. it's either Pilyer or Bubcar, assuming only 3 free runs per turn and that they can't free run through open squares.
Did we wreck the Attrill Bank like we did the police station?
I'm at Buckett Building and no one outside....heavily fortified...seems and sounds like their roof running..I keep updating on my block but no movements so far pass two hours...Godfrey Mueseum same way earlier....We both looking for Kerrang right?
Aye, that's the one. He's become my Moby Dick. I chomped about 20 HP outta him a while back, but couldn't finish him off, and he seems to constantly kill whichever zombie I'm standing next to.
I'll soften up the barricades to Mitchem for y'all later (as I don't need the xp), but I'll probably wait until the afternoon when there's more Americans online, so you'll have to wait until then.
In the meantime, you'll probably want to wait inside one of the ruined buildings to recover AP.
azazel the cat wrote: Ah, so that's how they do it! I didn't realize that you could freerun into a very heavily barricaded building.
Can they freerun from a wrecked and ruined building into a heavily barricaded one? Like, can a ruin be an entry point?
Free Running allows a survivor to move between adjacent buildings. Barricades, of any level, do not block the movement. Ruins do block movement and a ruined building cannot be an entry point to an adjacent building.
That is why it is so important to ruin buildings. It breaks their Free Running routes to resource points. Ruins are also more difficult to search and to build barricades in. Also, the more days a building remains ruined, the harder it is to barricade.
When we are a more numerous and skillful horde, we can engage in some sneaky tactics to make Vinetown far less friendly for humans.
Is anyone still in Ling, Attrill, Bubcar, or Pilyer? If so, have you seen any human activity there?
Killed one human in NW section of mall and took another one down to 31 HP.
Three humans left...
If the susrvivors at this mall use simular tactics as the ones at the mall in Chud then they'll consolidate and attempt to attack us when our ap is low/down...expect that.

I like to log on on my phone every now and then, press 'stand up' then log back out again. Just leaves the harmans with another zombie to deal with; costing them a whole lot more AP than it does me. A couple of times I've done this before they could chuck my body back out on the street, effectively rendering all their efforts to kill me wasted as they have to do it all over again.
Trying a little psychology experiment, attacked the radio just to see if I can get some human to belive it's important atm and waste ap fixing it instead of shooting at/ needling any of us...you know...just for sags.
Here is a map of Mitchem Mall to show the buildings we ruined (blue X marks) and the remaining Free Running route that human reinforcements will take from Gelasius and Shyar.
One day the humans won't have any safe routes...one day.
Of course, the ballsiest humans will run straight through the open streets, but at least we might catch them out there.
Where are our reinforcements? Eetion, where are you?

I'm inside the building. Who are we focusing on?
Striker II is wounded but still has lots of HP left.

Mick McManix began to rebuild the barricades, using an armchair. (2 minutes ago)
Mick McManix broadcast "Mitchem being Nurgled. 10 zeds. Bring FAKs, ammo and needles" from here, on 26.34 MHz. (1 minute ago)
I can reopen the doors but I don't have enough AP to destroy the barricades first.
Looks like one of the guys we killed has stood back up as an unknown zombie. He's probably hoping to be revivified by his human friends.
I am puzzled by the overall count of 24 active members of The Nurglings but I only have 21 (including myself) in my contacts list. I'm not including the guys that are inactive (Manchu/Ephraim Pitman, Morathi's Darkest Sin/Lhuegar, d-usa's double/Zombie Dusa, Rockie Piggo, and Cannerus) because the game stat tracker does not include inactive players.
Has anyone seen three other Nurglings running around? Any non-Dakkanauts using our group name? It's not a crime, and anyone is welcome that will fight for the cause.
I'm just curious to know and would like to add their profiles to our list.
One of them is probably phantommaster so that leaves two unknowns. Is TheDisco Spider playing?
I had issues getting some of those names added to my contacts list. It told me "Not logged in" or something, which is weird because the other names all added with no issues.
kronk wrote: I had issues getting some of those names added to my contacts list. It told me "Not logged in" or something, which is weird because the other names all added with no issues.
Did you have any trouble with the 20 other active members?
The names with no profile are guys that are interested in playing but are not yet in my contacts list as part of our group. Phantommaster may be in our group but I don't have a valid profile for him yet, and I don't know if he has reached our location. Eetion is in the group but has not made it to Vinetown yet.

That sounds right, Kronk is probably on the mark with the numbers, I went for impact over accuracy, but I've not math-hammered it to see what's most effective...
With the starting zombie skill, bite does more DPS than Claw (and your XP for an attack is equal to the damage you deal against humans).
Basically:
- at the start, use Bite against humans unless they have 2 hp left. Use Claw against barricades and stuff because Bite doesn't do anything to them.
- for your first upgrade, +10% to hit with Bite will give you the mightiest anti-human DPS of any first zombie upgrade at 1.2 (not counting the starter zombie skill that you get for starting the game as a zombie). +15% to hit with Claw will make Claw better than stock Bite and gives you the best stuff-wrecking performance, which may or may not matter depending on how much you're hitting barricades. +1 damage to Claw is slightly better for DPS than +15% to hit, but doesn't to my knowledge help against barricades. For your second upgrade, taking the other Claw upgrade will make it do more DPS than the upgraded Bite does.
The other upside to Bite is you can take Digestion to turn it into a heal and let you feed on dead bodies as well. I'm not sure how much that will do for you, since most of the time I seem to either be in perfect health or dead. YMMV though!
I ended up going for the Claw accuracy skill so that I can beat up barricades and stuff better (which is suboptimal from an XP point of view, as humans give wayyyyy better XP, but whatever, I wanted to break a door at the time) and have better damage next level.
HiveFleetPlastic, those are interesting numbers. I've never bothered to bite anyone but claws seem to work well for me. As you pointed out, only the claws work versus barricades. There is another bite upgrade so maybe I'll bite humans more often after I take that skill.
We need to put Striker II down for the count. EDIT: He is at 34 HP now.
He is one of three Level 43 humans still in the mall. There is also a level 1 in here. Maybe he will run away.
Since you have all the Claw upgrades, you only want to Bite anyone when you need the Digestion hp (and you probably want to land a Claw first for the Tangling Grasp bonus).
Really, the base numbers aren't that far off, so if you've just used Claw the whole time and didn't upgrade Bite then you weren't missing much (Claw is 0.7 base vs Bite's 0.8).
Dark Apostle 666 wrote: Went to bite Stryker again, missed one, but the other one hit - but it only put him down to 46? Maybe I misread it?
Nope. You read it correctly. The human reinforcements showed up and killed or revivified about four of us. Look around. How many zombies do you see inside?
I was revivified and dumped. I just stood up outside the Mall as a human. FREE CHICKEN!! All of you new zombies need to hit me for easy XP!!
You are standing outside Mitchem Mall, a derelict grey-stone building which has partially collapsed. The building has been extremely heavily barricaded - you can see no way to enter.
Lights are on inside.
Somebody has spraypainted Brains R Us has moved to Caiger Mall. onto a wall.
There are four zombies here. You recognise Ossifer Butthead, Azazel the Cat and Damn Jensen amongst them.
There are nine dead bodies here. You recognise Doctadeth, Joshua Lemon, Albacorpse, The Kronk Shuffle and Lost My Dog amongst them.
So I assume you are almost alone in there except for Patient13, Savus Jebus, notpopped, and some humans.
It's all good. We came to Mitchem for XP and that's exactly what we are getting.
As expected, they defended the mall in force.
I'm sure they are taunting us from their castle ramparts:
But it's only a flesh wound. We'll be back.
Tomorrow, we should get everyone back to zombiehood and check out the ruined buildings to make sure that Ling, Pilyer, Attrill, and Bubcar are still ruined. That's a job for the zombies with Lurching Gait.
I'll check Ling. It is the farthest distance.
Can someone check the warehouse or the junkyard to see if they are entry points (less than Heavily barricaded)? We should probably ruin them if they are entry points. That would trap the humans outside when they hop out of the highly fortified buildings to attack us.
EDIT: Lights just came on at the junkyard so someone is there.
Buildings with these barricade levels make good human entry points:
Loosely barricaded
Lightly barricaded
Quite Strongly barricaded
Very Strongly barricaded
Attrill Bank is a good hiding spot to gain AP. It is ruined and dark. Humans will have a very tough time hurting anyone resting there.
The problem is, even if we destroy their free-running routes, they can just go along the street level and go through the cades that we lowered to actually get into Mitchem, no?
But yeah, good days work I think. And them revivifying folks just gives everyone an opportunity to eat each other and gain even more xp!
Went really well IMHO; if people we a couple of levels higher, I reckon we could've taken Mitchem, so give it a bit of time and we could really have them on the ropes.
I escaped to Pilyer hotel, with not a scratch on my rotting hide! Hopefully I'll be able to recover some AP in safety here, seeing as the humans are concentrating on the mall.
And I'm up for the next assault - just point me at 'em!
Yes, destroying the free running routes only matters while Mitchem is barricaded at heavily and above, which it is right now.
We can make another run at Mitchem on Thursday. By then, we should have gotten everyone back as zombies with some AP saved up.
Or we could ruin the warehouse and Corless Bank to use as rally points/AP rest points right on the edge of Mitchem Mall. The bank is particularly useful since it will be dark when ruined.
The humans might let us get away with ruining any building around Mitchem except for Club Izzard. I don't know for sure. What did they defend with vigor other than the mall the last time you guys came this way?
Where's Benamint? He was part of that rampage.
It is all good as long as we are gaining XP and skills while ruining more and more of Vinetown.

Pilyer is already re-barricaded by the humans. I'm standing outside of it and the description is in the quote box below:
You are standing outside the Pilyer Hotel, a small grey-stone building plastered with posters. The building has been heavily barricaded - you can see no way to enter.
Somebody has spraypainted Bongzilla wuz here! onto a wall.
There is a lone zombie here. It's Patient 13.
There are three dead bodies here. You recognise Stimpleton and Shambling Wanderer.
That probably means that the other buildings are also restored.
This is Bubcar Towers:
You are standing outside Bubcar Towers, a four-storey metal-and-glass building split by a large, diagonal crack. The building has been very strongly barricaded.
There is a mobile-phone mast on the roof of the building.
Somebody has spraypainted kill rain 20 and do not revive onto a wall.
They seem to protect Izzard the most heavily, then the two towers beneath and Quarman IIRC.
Thursday sounds good to me, us higher level guys can try and crack open the bank tomorrow?
Also, here's what I've calculated the attack percentages:
Claws (vanilla): 35% for 2 dmg = 0.7 dmg per AP spent
Claws (Death Grip): 50% for 2 dmg = 1.0 dmg per AP spent
Claws (Death Grip + Rend Flesh): 50% for 3 dmg = 1.5 dmg per AP spent
Bite (vanilla): 20% for 4 dmg = 0.8 dmg per AP spent
Bite (Neck Lurch): 30% for 4 dmg = 1.2 dmg per AP spent
So biting someone is a better choice when the options are vanilla; but Neck Lurch will give the most benefit as a single skill, however, the Death Grip + Rend Flesh route seems to be the highest overall damage output.

My general tactic FWIW is to generally use claws, but otherwise bite (and then infect) if I don't think I'll be able to finish them off, if I'm trying to infect everyone in a building, or if I'm trying to regain HP. I'd definitely recommend focussing on the claw-upgrades first, as they'll really help propel/snowball xp accumulation.
Yeah, biting seems to only be of real benefit (after a vanilla comparison) if you want to gain some HP back from Digestion, or if you want to Infect survivors that you can't finish off. It seems to me that biting each survivor once to Infect them will be beneficial in preventing them from rapidly re-barricading buildings, but claws is definitely the way to go for pure damage, according to the math.
If you want to complicate things, then ideally you want to hit with Claws (Death Grip, Rend Flesh & Tangling Grasp), then try to Bite (40% chance following Tangling Grasp at 4 dmg = 1.6 dmg per AP spent) in hopes of Infecting them, then moving back to Claws (60% chance at 3 dmg = 1.8 dmg per AP) to cause real damage.

we're not strong enough to spread out and hold ground.
I recommend that we concentrate on Corless Bank right beside Mitchem Mall and turn it into a nice dark ruined zombie base from which we can raid Mitchem SW as often as desired until we have become far more powerful.
No point in checking Ling or Attrill. I expect them to be rebuilt by the humans as well. They are as numerous as grains of sand on a beach.
So biting someone is a better choice when the options are vanilla; but Neck Lurch will give the most benefit as a single skill, however, the Death Grip + Rend Flesh route seems to be the highest overall damage output.

And also works on barricades?
Yes, it gives you the best attack in the game versus barricades (25%), which isn't saying much.
Because if not, then we're going to have to always ruin The Pilyer and Club Izzard in order to keep the mall cut off from free running routes to Ling and Gelasius
Jihadin, I'd save one AP to make an escape if I were you - saves on getting killed, which therefore allows you to spend the AP you'd need to stand up on the enjoyable alternative that is biting things!

Exactly how I find it. First Aid kits are plentiful to cure infection too, further supporting claw attacks. Infection seems to be more of a hindrance than a solution, sadly...

That was fun! Head to Corless Bank and we'll see if we ruin it. Then we can make another run at Mitchem SW or another target on Thursday.
I am at the warehouse north of the bank - there's a spray-paint tag:
"Entry point - keep barricades at VSB"
It's VSB, and lit, I'm here with Slow and Purposeful and 2 others, considering the graffiti, Is this a valid target, or should I keep heading south and help with the bank assault?
I got the cades down to VSB if anyone feels like finishing the job.
I'll have you know that all this Urban Dead hullabaloo has actually caused me to break my rigid "Only Played in the Wee Hours of the Morning" routine, which has only rarely happened.
Monster..I feel you on the enforce limit playing....I'm paying more attention to this thread then any other...and 3/4 of this thread cracks me up......all Kronk fault....

I took you down to 3hp Kronk, but reen out of ap before I could ree-zombify you, guess one of our fellows helped you back into your skinny jeans...also, no have the strangest craving for chicken wings...
Assemble at Corless Bank, immediately south of the warehouse. We will ruin it today, hide inside (banks are dark), and then attack Mitchem again on Thursday.
Bromsy, welcome back! Do I have the correct profile listed for you in the original post contact list? Which group name are you using and how far away are you?
Scrabb, welcome! You are lucky. The game started you very close to Vinetown. Just head north to Mitchem Mall. What is your profile and group?
Suddenly, I don't find Hooter girls very appealing anymore....

3 more should be joing me.
That is very good news, Eetion. We are massing not far from you. Most of us are at NW Corner of Mitchem Mall but we are moving a bit south of there to Corless Bank.
What group do the other three players belong to? Do they have names that you know?
All apologies; I actually wasn't even sure who Lost My Dog corresponded to. In any case, "him" was used in the infinitive, as opposed to the grammatically-incorrect plural "them". But I shall try to remember that for future reference.

That's okay! I probably need a forum picture or something.
I guess I could also have been HiveFleetPlastic the zombie, going around devouring humans. A missed opportunity! I was going for something more, er, in-setting? at the time.
Thanks! Tell Shaax thanks for joining. Is he able to read this thread?
I linked it to him. He is amazed by the technology of being able to tell who's killing who.
Good, it is more fun when you know the zombie creeping up behind you with a tanker bar is Jihadin, that kronk is the blood stained corpse against the brick wall, and that Dark Apostle 666 will step on your dead body to get into an open building.
It's all the banter and humor that keeps me coming back. Also Monster Rain has elite cooking skills...you learn things in these threads.
I just bagged a survivor north of the Mall. It shames me that I do not remember his name, but he will live on in my memory and stomach as delicious brain fritters.
It leaves tantalisingly close to a skill with 99Xp!
Well.....fire up the grill......make the hummies think someone eating good.....charcoal smell carries a long way....and we wait....for the meal to arrive...
edit
I just cringe if some chick from Hooter shows up....with chickn wings.....damn you Kronk....
