angelofvengeance wrote: I'm considering starting a Chaos warband now (as if I don't have enough on my plate already...)
Been looking around and sadly there's not much that takes my fancy since most of it is a variation of black/red/green or blue.
Suggestions please?
I reckon the best ways to choose are to look at what you already have (colour-wise) and go with something different. Also, work out a theme (or Chaos God) and let that also influence your palette, look and feel.
Ahead of a potential upcoming game of 40K, I decided to assemble some scenery and take a break from the production line of Necrons- say hello to Imperial Bastion #2, God I love the lascannon turret in these things.
Man, these things are a pain in the bum to assemble!
Oh and I also had a bit of a mess around with the cultists and assassins from Assassinorum.
Took another swing at the Alpha Legion paint scheme.
This time it was dry brushed using Kantor Blue, Macragge Blue, Kabalite Green and Moot Green. In that order I then followed up with a wash of Druchii Violet.
C&C welcome though this pic is a WIP one, he has actually been finished (besides basing that is)
As the update title suggests... I've kind of caved and bought myself something from Forgeworld. Something to slay great beasts and mechanical monsters...
My new favourite vehicle!! A Deimos pattern Vindicator Laser Destroyer!! ZZZZAP!
Oh and a turret for a Razorback- Going old school with a Lascannon/ twin plasma gun combo
Well I got those 2 Legion Praetors and the Predator Destructor (plasma cannon thing) and those were an absolute joy to assemble. Probably the biggest pain in the arse was the Relic Contemptor. Took a lot of work to clean him up- mainly in the socket that connects to his abdomen. Still needs assembling and painting. To be honest though, if you do have any quality issues with your model, Forge World are pretty on the ball customer service wise and will send you a replacement PDQ.
Red Skull looks ace, great use of colours on the eyes and lenses!
I used Khorne Red instead of Mephiston Red- Thought the armour plating looked far too bright for an assassin. OK you don't really send an Eversor in to sneak about, but I imagine he does a little of it to get to his objective so I wanted him much darker.
Yeah I usually don't have an issue uploading landscape pics from my phone so this one's a first. If you click the image it will display the right way up.
GrimDork wrote: Assassin is looking great, and I can't wait to see what you do with the contemptor (hopefully, paint it!)
He's getting the ivory of the Deathwing since he's a Relic Contemptor. And he's getting some shiny shiny decals. Might throw him in the "Monster" paint competition as I think a Dreadnought would certainly qualify!!The Canoptek Stalker is on hold since I have to wash ALL the bits before painting to make sure there's no release agent on there. Kind of put me off doing him!
Yeah release agent is my bane too. I forget which materials it even comes with, but I often forget to wash my sprues/metals/whatevers. I think I know better with resins, and sometimes I remember to wash Bones because it can really tone down the inherent water-repelling properties of the stuff... but often I forget even there.
Sweet, deathwing seems like an appropriate place for a dreadnough I'm not sure what to enter into the contest yet. None of my minis that I wanted to paint were fast/furious/epic enough for this month, so for June I want to find something suitably monstrous, given time and opportunity.

A shame you entered the dragon beastie from Bones II (with face rapey tentacle mouth) in the Veterans bit.. Pretty sure that counts as horrifyingly monstrous!
Yeah haha, dragon would have worked for fast/furious too I have that big Khanjira/world breaker thing, but it may be too big of a project for the time scale. I've got more dreadnoughts but if you're doing a contemptor then the poor regular guys just won't stand a chance
Which one Eyeamrai? The dry brushed guy (horns) or the edge highlighted guy?
I appear to have boobed when I ordered the Laser destroyer vindicator lol. It's apparently a very popular kit right now, and they can't make them fast enough lol....which means HH:Tempest is not coming yet either :-(
Yeah loved painting him- really characterful model. I'm now wondering what to do with the other 3 assassins comic wise. Suggestions anyone? Who else can I turn into a 41st millennium assassin?
Vindicare has got to be Deadshot-themed (or Hawkeye, but I think DS suits it better). Perhaps Black Widow for the Callidius? No idea on the Culexis, possibly Ghost Rider (add some anti-psychic flames or something somewhere)?
Paradigm wrote: Vindicare has got to be Deadshot-themed (or Hawkeye, but I think DS suits it better). Perhaps Black Widow for the Callidius? No idea on the Culexis, possibly Ghost Rider (add some anti-psychic flames or something somewhere)?
Deadshot for the Vindicare seems more feasible than Hawkeye I think. Might just leave Callidus and Culexus as is.
I managed to get some hobby time in last night and finished assembling the Contemptor. I can't stress enough as to how much of a pain in the arse it was to fit the legs. Fiddly as hell. I've pretty much got him sorted now though. He looks kind of wonky but it's intentional, as I imagined some filthy xenos/heretic taking a pot shot at him and it glanced off his armour, so it's broken his stride a bit. So he's kind of turning to face his soon-to-be-victim, to give them some fiery doom from his plasma cannon.
I had to (carefully) pull the missile launcher off him as it wasn't on straight. I think I'm going to green stuff his head on (it's dry fitted at the moment) after I've painted it as it looks a bit fiddly in there.
Also got my Forge World order through so I now have a Laser Destroyer Vindicator and a shiny shiny Lasplas turret for my Razorback
As you can see, the Vindicator is an awesome kit- just build the Rhino chassis but leave the top piece and (outer) tracks off and slap the shiny shiny resin ones on
Azazelx wrote: Looks awesome. Which Contemptor kit is that?
Relic Contemptor- I think FW are a long way off from doing any First Legion stuff. Feels like they're waiting to do the Thramas campaign (Night Lords Vs. Dark Angels)
It is awesome- though I boobed a bit and put the shoulders on the wrong way around lol. Cheers Forge World for sending me a model without instructions!
Gave the Contemptor a few coats of Zandri Dust today with the new Large Basecoat brush. Credit where it's due to GW, it's a bloody good brush. Spoilered due to image size.
Yeah, all these new components look really nice. If I didn't already have an Ultramarine Command Squad/Sicarius, plenty of BA bits or my mostly-Deathwing DA, I'd grab at least one. Still might it I get back to 40k.
GrimDork wrote: I dunno... looks almost... chaosy. Like a berserker or thousand son but feathery...
There is precedent for it considering the Lion helm, however.
Nice combimelta too.
Nah, I'd use Balthasar's (Dark Vengeance) helmet for a Lion Helm substitute- plus it turns out Azrael does actually wear it-not just have some Watcher carry it around for him. Though I'm curious as to how a helmet intended for a Primarch, who's a good bit bigger in every way, would fit a rank and file Astartes. Feels like the Lion Helm was more than likely an item that Luther or other Order member wore.
The new shoulder pads will prove useful for my Command squad and veteran tactical squads. My Dark Angels are swelling to full on Battle Company size at this rate lol. According to the current Codex, the 5th Company(as well as 3rd and 4th) is comprised of the following:
6 Tactical squads 2 Assault 2 Devastator squads Plus associated vehicles and staff from the Reclusiam/Librarius/Forge etc.
So I would be doing my Contemptor but I'm feeling a little unsure where I'm going with it so he's on hold for now.
I've assembled my FW Vindicator LD- amazing kit, stupidly though I forgot to take a pic of it fully assembled. So here's a dry fit pic and side by side comparison to the normal Vindicator. I'll get assembled pics up this evening hopefully. Desk is a bit messy right now, so I'll be tidying that this evening before doing any more hobby stuff!
I love the look of the laser destroyer kit, it just has that feel of having enough punch to really make someone's day turn around .
I always thought GW should have made accessory kits like these years ago. It would have been better than doing all the different tactical boxes for each faction.
By the way if you ever need dave wing shoulder pads let me know

The rules for this thing are pretty nice- if a little risky.
48" S9 AP1 Ordnance 1, Twin linked.
You can use its power capacitor to increase the number of shots up to Ordnance 3!
If you haven't moved that turn, it becomes ordnance 2 twin linked. Or alternatively you can over charge it to 3 if you roll a D6 and get a score of 2-6. On a 1 you suffer 1HP damage.
Yes I clipped Dave's Wings, now he's stuck here with us mortals Stupid autocorrect. I meant ravenwing. I bought lots of the basic molded pads that I was going to use for my custom marine chapter. I don't know how many I still have last count I remember was around 1300 of them......yes I had a problem, but gw made it all better
A bit stumped with the Contemptor so I've been having a pop at my Company Command's standard bearer. Here's a pic of him as well as the Contemptor too. Input is welcomed as usual
I've decided that Guilliman Blue glaze is the best way to illustrate a power field. Bloody annoying trying to free hand crackling lightning!

Notsomuch the Lion Helm. They're doing lots of throwbacks to older designs lately. It's this guy that they're referencing:

Nice work. If you want to get your banner lines perfectly straight (or close!) try using painter's masking tape. It's the blue one.
Possibly even further back Azazel. He looked better without that massive cape IMO. That was the one thing putting me off getting that model. (Paint job/model below is not mine btw)
As I said before, the DV Company Master's head would be better suited for an Azrael conversion. I can just about do an exact copy with that DA upgrade kit now. DA Veteran torso/open-ish robed chest piece. Power sword from the upgrade kit, skull backpack from DA veteran kit. Shoulder pad from DA Veteran kit. Only thing I'd struggle with is the angel shoulder pad. Unless I chopped it off a DV Librarian.
Good work on the standard bearer, nice tactical rock he has there . I don't paint lightning bolts, I think the power fields are invisible, and is mostly done through vibration.
Theophony wrote: Good work on the standard bearer, nice tactical rock he has there . I don't paint lightning bolts, I think the power fields are invisible, and is mostly done through vibration.
What company did you get your paint rack from?
Got it from The Troll Trader(based in GB)- he makes his own laser cut racks I think.
Had a bit of a dabble with the new Assault Marines kit last night. Gotta say- Lovely kit! Also the jump packs have been massively improved casting wise- the sprue gates are no longer a problem. Those of you familiar with SM jump packs will know what I'm on about.
So I caved and bought myself a shiny shiny new Terminator Librarian in plastic. The one that's just come out . He's actually not a bad looking mini in fairness. I'm well on the way to having a DA Librarius conclave... 2 Turmiels (one of which is going to be a counts as Ezekiel) 1 metal libby with force staff and book and then 2 Terminator Librarians. Then I shall bathe the enemy in the holy fires of the Emperor's wrath..
That is one hell of an army you have there AOV. Are you happy with the rumours from the codex? It looks like there are some very viable builds for the Unforgiven, especially if you go the Ravenwing route.
Got me some shiny plastic crack. Say hi to the new Libby. And I finally managed to get hold of the last bits to finish my GK-based librarian. (Apologies for the shaky pic of the latter- will sort a new one tomorrow hopefully). I think what put me off the new TDA Libby initially, was the paint job in the WDW. Didn't really ring out as a badass psyker. Needless to say my paint job will include the glowing blue eyes like my Hulk-Mephiston.
Thraxas: Yeah, I'm pretty happy with the love the Dark Angels are getting this time around. Some very cool stuff :-). Might actually get a Dark Talon now! The Rift Cannon now does more than tousle your hair this time around!!
Just a small update for today- say hi to a nearly finished Librarian :-)
Quite happy with how the edge highlights on the blue have turned out but not so with the green shoulder guards. Going to go back and fix that mess. I may add some more bits to him to make him a bit more librarian like.
angelofvengeance wrote: Possibly even further back Azazel. He looked better without that massive cape IMO. That was the one thing putting me off getting that model. (Paint job/model below is not mine btw)
You're right - that's the one! I was looking for a pic, but couldn't find it. I've got him myself (still unpainted) along with the BA one that grew into Dante, The Ultra and the Wolf.
First things first- to all my American readers, I hope you're all having a great holiday weekend.
Secondly, I've been trying out the Alpha Legion paint scheme on my worthless mortal puppets. What do we think to the robes? I've still got a layer of Moot Green to do for edge highlighting but I think he's coming out nicely. Only another 14 more to go On a positive note, I think I'm finally getting the hang of painting cloth type details.
Cheers Para, I think the Alpha Legion paint scheme from the GW studio works a lot better on cloth than on armour plates. The greeny-blue only really works on armour if you do a drybrush rather than edge highlights.
Also, I caved and pre-ordered myself some Age of Sigmar goodness which I shall be picking up from the FLGS on Wednesday afternoon assuming Royal Snail come through.
I haven't pre-ordered my AoS stuff yet, but I'm going to get it. Those sigmarines... I mean, sigmarites, are just too cool for me to pass up. And if I get a couple games out of them, so be it.
I love the cultists, cracking minis that are not too involving to paint. The robes look grand, your highlighting skills are improving. Any progress on the others?
@ Thraxas: Nope I'm just doing 1 for guinea pig purposes at the moment. I don't want to have to get them all done and then realise- gak. I don't like 'em lol.
So this evening I've had a quick dabble in the hobby cave, and fixed that god awful edge highlighting I did on the Librarian the other day. Plus I highlighted the grip on his force stave to make it stand out a bit, and added a nifty little decal to his leg. On his head you may or may not notice a slight blue effect on the metal bits of his psychic hood..
On a further note, I would have liked to have said I was doing some Age of Sigmar stuff today, but it appears my FLGS won't get it in until Friday. GW in their infinite wisdom, thought it'd be a better idea for everyone to wait until Friday rather than send ALL of the mail order stuff together on the Wednesday...
This is what I've managed to get assembled this afternoon before my neck told me to pack it in and lock up. NB: There are 3 Retributors in the box but I haven't gotten around to building that last one yet.
Prosecutors (flying guys) look quite fiddly so I'll take a stab at them tomorrow.
Those new models are looking sweet. Nearly caved on Saturday and bought the AoS box but.....picked up yet more paints and a box of Skits instead lol. Alpha cultist is loking nice fella. Might suggest a few glazes on the hood to bring the recesses/highights together
More Sigmarite goodness today- finished the Retributors and Prosecutors off as well as Ionus Cryptborn (possibly Arkhan the Black- Nagash's minion, reincarnated by Sigmar after the Old World was destroyed)
I also got the Khorgorath beastie, Grizzlemaw the Flesh Hound (Khorgos Khul's pet) Vekh the Flayer, Threx Skullbrand and the 5 Chosen assembled. Stupidly though I forgot to get pics. Ah well. Nothing you haven't seen already...
I'll put it on. But I think I'll paint it separately so I can get at his armour on the back, without worrying about touching the parchment when I paint him.
Blood for the Blood God! Skulls for the Skull Throne!!
Just about everyone assembled save for 1 Blood Reaver marauder and Khorgos Khul, Exalted Champion of Khorne and Lord of the Goretide.
Only complaint is a misprint in the instructions for Threx Skullbrand (the guy holding the massive icon of khorne). It says he goes on a 32mm base when in fact it should be a 40mm. Otherwise you come up short when you're assembling the Blood Reaver regiment.
Loved putting these guys together- GW seem to have nailed the push fit casting process by bumping up the scale to 30mm(I think? That or they just wanted some real beefcakes in the starter). With the 2012 Dark Vengeance stuff you did lose a bit of quality such as the various details looking a bit warped. With this starter set there's none of that. Mould lines and sprue gates are the only thing you need to be concerned with.
So I have had enough of my models rattling around in Really Useful Boxes and gone full on GW fanboy to splurge on these rather large army cases. And to remove any doubts as to who owns what case lol.
I've just about finished cleaning Khorgos Khul up (A LOT of mould lines on his Khorne banner). Amazing model though.
After some tidying up of the hobby cave, I took a crack at a Stormcast Liberator which is a surprisingly nice model to paint. Instead of the massively OTT gold and blue scheme however, I've gone for something a little less blingy.
Currently, I've got all the colours blocked out and Nuln Oil applied to the Leadbelcher areas. For the layers, I'm not sure where to go with the silver- add another layer of Leadbelcher on top? Or go with Ironbreaker followed by an edge highlight of Runefang? The gold I think has come up rather well. Balthasar gold followed by Gehenna gold. I'll probably do edge highlights of Auric and Runefang to top it off.
I present to you, my Knights of the Aurora Stormhost Liberator WIP.
Soo... got my 2 awesome cases yesterday... WOW. Amazing the amount of stuff you can fit in these things. Here's one of my experiments from last night. This is pretty much my entire Dark Angels force save a handful of tac marines, my land raider redeemer, a predator and my drop pod. With most of my vehicles in here, I had 2 trays left over to play with(they fit inside the trays the tanks are sat in) which fit nicely into 3L A4 size Really Useful Boxes. When you close it up and walk around with it there's literally nothing rattling around in there. It's all snug and secure even with the vehicles being as they are in that photo.
That's an interesting setup with the strips of foam there. I guess that makes it a bit more practical than trying to cram slightly-too-big models into the old-style slots?
Paradigm wrote: That's an interesting setup with the strips of foam there. I guess that makes it a bit more practical than trying to cram slightly-too-big models into the old-style slots?
Just a bit. My Necrons are in an old style case and you can (just about) fit the Monolith in there, but you sacrifice a lot of space. I have a lot of Necrons so I'll be taking the Monolith out and see how I get on with these newer foam trays. I had considered the KR Multicases, but there's AN AWFUL LOT of wasted storage with their stuff (Just look at their vehicle foam trays, yikes)
The foam strips aren't actually stuck down as with the old foam trays-only at each end of them, so you can move them about all you like to accommodate some of the larger models.
Only a little bit of painting done this evening, but I think I'm quite liking where this guy is going
Just a few bits of highlighting and cleaning up left to do before basing him, as I'm sure you've noticed! Seems I didn't quite manage to get rid of the joint on the one shoulder guard . Might try and use that as a start to some battle damage there.
The seams are very prevalent on their shoulder pads (not yours specifically, just in general). I used a little bit of liquid greenstuff and it certainly helped.
I like all the different color schemes I'm seeing for these. The fact that GW has only shown a few "official" ones has gotten most people to come up with their own, which is pretty cool. I like the blue you've gone with, BTW.
Plus I made a start on a Retributor. Not sure if I want him to have a bit more Incubi Darkness panels or just leave him as is. Thoughts? Also, for the plumage- Khorne Red like the belt or something else?
Anytime someone mentions plumage I instantly go to the Monty Python Parrot sketch "beautiful plumage" .
now every time I see a stormcast eternal I'll be thinking "He snuffed it!" And saying how he is an ex(enter fantasy army character/army type).
Well he looks great for someone who shuffled off his mortal coil . To bad they are all corrupted by Slaanesh and it is Slaanesh who is leading them as he/she/it is not hiding, just faking it.
@Thraxas:I deliberately left Vandus and Calanax with the mould lines on to deter me from doing that first lol. That, and I'm not entirely sure where to have the panels of Incubi Darkness and gold detailing. Suggestions?
@EyeamRai: Cheers mate
I think I'm going to be doing the rest of my Liberators, and have a pop at a Prosecutor this weekend. I've also picked up a pot of the Flayed One Flesh the other day to give that a go on my Dark Eldar Wracks and Grotesques as it's a really pale paint which would look great on that sorta thing.
Here's the swatch(can't really see it if worksafe theme is on):

Well you don't strike me as the sort of person who would burn their older models in a massive fit of rage. So I'm guessing you'll paint them ...at some point lol.
Very neat looking models. I could see me being interested in those 5-8 years ago when GW was still affordable. Now though I seem to be outside of their demographic.

That's what Kings of War models are for Grim & Theo

Been playing KOW for a few years. I really need to paint my orks for that.
Still thinking about how to base them to be honest. Thoughts?
I had thought about using Agrellan Earth or Martian Ironearth to give the impression of them having just arrived from the realm of Azyr. Since they ride the lightning, it might give the impression of the ground being superheated by it, giving the cracked effect?
I've found music like this helps with the hobbying...
Son of the Harpy (season 5) (good Sigmarite music)
Had a bit of a dabble in the hobby cave this evening. Trying to finish up the To Do pile, so I had a crack at the Deathwing Knights. Mostly basecoating and drybrushing the highlights (honestly, I hate edge highlighting, so I'll try to dry brush if I can)
Here's a pic of one of the boys in ivory. Basecoated with Zandri Dust and a couple of thin coats of Ushabti Bone, which were then followed up by dry brushed Screaming Skull and White Scar. Eyes were done using White Scar with a glaze of Bloodletter.
I'm a bit stumped basing wise for my Sigmarines- suggestions? (see post above this for my ideas- do you agree?)
I have never really used Agrellan Earth or Martian Iron Earth, do they adhere to the surface long enough to be a long term basing solution? The inherent flakiness always makes me worry that given time and handling they will slowly erode.
The Knight is looking good, have always been a big fan of the Deathwing.
What about using some white cotton balls on their bases. If they are riding the Lightning down then the flying ones could be coming through clouds and the ones on the ground you could use steel wool or darken the cotton to show where the Lightning struck the ground and it's still steaming.
Deathwing Knight- going to glaze over the robes with Caliban Green to try and clean up those highlights on the tabard. Bit stumped on where to go with the scroll relief on his shin plate. Gold or a Dark grey kinda colour?
Retributor- just some cleaning up to do and the highlights on the shoulder guards. Still sucking my thumb on the basing front though.
Captain Karlaen- had to get another copy of him due to the original box set one getting deaded by a curious spaniel puppy... Base coated the armour with Mephiston Red and drybrushed with Kindleflame dry compound for the highlights. Followed by a glaze of Carroburg Crimson to bring the colours together. Black was done with Abaddon Black with 1st highlight of Dark Reaper as you can see on the shoulder guards and the cloak.
Hoping to get my 1st game of AoS in tomorrow. Sigmarines vs Goretide. At the moment they're still the orrible grey legions but I'm going to make a concerted effort to get them out the way.
First crack at Warhammer Age of Sigmar today... it didn't go well for the Stormcast Eternals. I had a unit of x5 Liberators and x1 unit of 3 Prosecutors, and my brother had x1 unit of 10 Bloodreavers and Threx Skullbrand, Took about 30-40mins with interruptions from the dogs, which isn't bad considered it was a first time play. Simple kill each other scenario, no Sudden Death stuff.
The God-King, Sigmar did not hear the prayers for aid. Liberators would benefit more if they're kitted out with Sword & Shield/Twin blades with a Grandblade or Grandhammer, I think. That way you get a -1 Rending modifier against people in melee.
Threx Skullbrand, bearer of the giant Icon of Khorne is a fething monster in close quarters. Even with a re-roll on save rolls of 1 (shield bonus), did not save my poor Liberators' and Prosecutors' skulls being offered to Khorne. The Bloodreavers were laughably pathetic against the Liberators. Though my dice rolls in melee with them were equally atrocious. The Liberators did eventually manage to put them down, but the Bloodreaver Chieftain in a moment of insane bravado, managed to hack one's head off before being bludgeoned to death by the rest of them.
Prosecutors, I think are better at range than in close quarters, but they do get an impressive 3+ to hit and wound in melee. Threx Skullbrand claimed all 3 of their skulls for Khorne before my Liberators managed to get in melee with him. He then proceeded to murder all 4 of them. His axe bumped my saving throw of 4+ to 5+. Pics attached.
On a side note, I need more fantasy style scenery I think..
I don't know if you guys noticed but he's wearing a White Scar (30K head) as well. As part of the bits order, I thought these topknot helmets would looks a wee bit better than the ones that come in the CSM tacticals box.
Pic:
I only have 5 torsos, 10 shoulder pads and 10 heads (with Alpha Legion bling) to play with, so I'll be spreading them out across the force to give the impression that some of the war band are not as corrupted as others. Also on a side note, the Alpha Legion hydra transfers are a huge pain in my arse when it comes to applying them to the traitor Astartes hence the FW order lol.
I thought that was a white scars helmet, but really who cares as it is cool and I don't think anyone would groan about it. You could always say he was one of the Allhas sent to train and learn from the White Scars in the pre-Hersey days. Or he could have taken a trophy
Tha fantasy board actually looks pretty good, though I think a lot of that is the nice looking mat you've got going there. The ruins and archways should be easy enough to get some paint onto to make them look even better, and then I reckon go for some stone walls - easy to paint and work just as well in Fantasy, 40k or Historical games.
That marine build looks pretty sweet. I don't think anyone would care if you use it for your Alphas. I've got Death Guard and Imp Fists parts lined up for my Iron Warriors - it's just a matter of whether they look the part - and the Scars heads fit perfectly. Are you going for a 30k force, or a 40k? Or a "works in both" set?

40K force mainly because I've got a good bit of Chaos stuff here. I got the Execution Force board game a while back so I've got 15 or so Cultists, a Terminator Lord and a handful of Traitor Astartes just sat there doing nothing. The topknot ponytails just look stuck on in the current tactical squad.
You could make them look a little more natural by cutting them off, cutting them down and then regluing them at a slightly different angle to the right-angle they're usually on...
@Azazel: I guess. Bit late now though since I've just splurged on White Scar heads for that lol.
Just a tiny update today, had a short dose of painting (just can't seem to find the time of late). May I introduce Liberator Prime 1 (WIP) and his primed friends (all but 1 since the weather turned crap) Just blocked all the colours there on the Prime.
And please try and kill less sabre toothed animals
The mat is from Frontline Gaming's Kickstarter. It's made of some pretty heavy/badass mouse mat rubber type stuff, so you really have to give it a good tug to be able to move it around. Perfect for tabletop gaming.

It's frequently used as a terrain piece though I recently broke the bottom jaw off it by accident. Think I'll get some foam and integrate the top half into it for some sort of skull cave opening maybe?

Yeah I actually quite like the Stormcast Eternals. The helmets remind me of the Persian Immortals from '300'
Got sidetracked today and thought: feth it, I'm painting Vandus and his dracoth, Calanax. Primed him, followed by Stegadon Scale Green for his scaly hide, Nuln Oil wash, then dry brushed with Russ Grey. The next layer after that is a light dry brushing of Fenrisian Grey, followed by highlights of Ushabti bone on the sharpest points of the scales and face.
Apologies for the gak photo (a better one will follow this week):
I really want to like the AOS stuff, but the fact that it killed of the game that got me from RPG to tabletop just keeps burning me. The models are great looking, and I like the color scheme you chose and how you are painting them, but each time I think of my beloved skaven and the old world being destroyed I just want to turn to Khorne and help him kill Sigmar that much more.
Looking forward to better pics of the riding beast as I still think that it looks like a really nice model
I get what you're saying, but my WHFB stuff is all built and painted to go into mass infantry chunks. Space them out too much and the weakness of the painting/modeling really starts to show. Plus, I kind of like the switch from coherency/skirmish model count games to having to wheel things around and maneuver them.
Oh my skaven were long gone before AOS. I just miss the history I guess. I switched to KOW for mass battles long ago. I hope my kickstarter pledge shows up this week for the second edition.
I really should go look at the rules for it, or stop by the game store and watch it played before I boohoo it too much. As long as you are having fun with it that's all that matters. Plus if it's low enough cost for entry, it might win back some of its old clientele.
Those SigMarines are looking good. I just saw the new angelic lord thing the other day - I'd love to see what you could do with that model (if you're so inclined).
Azazelx wrote: I didn't see the price on it - just a pic. Are we talking Nagash-level ridiculousness or summat?
Drum roll... 48GBP(134AU$-WTF). Don't get me wrong, I'm sure he'd be a stunning model and he is quite big. But I just can't justify paying that. At the most, I'd expand my infantry for that price
I think you did pretty well waiting this long, it is an awesome model. I really like the skin colour you have gone for, you have also done well filling the huge gap you tend to get on the snout of that miniature.

That's the GW studio scheme on his skin- the one thing I liked from their paint job for the Stormcast was that. Love the cobalt blue on the Dracoth.
Back again for more Calanax (and a little Vandus) awesomeness... For the record- Golden Gryphon is officially one of my favourite dry brush compounds..
Without further ado... pics (spoilered!
Also opened a new box of Chaos Space Marines for the Alpha Legion project... err when did they release new transfers? (I know it says 2013 but I was of the impression they were still using the previous sheet)
That gold is really good. You are obviously a fan of the compounds. Personally I have never used them what would you say are the differences/advantages etc over using traditional paint?
Thraxas Of Turai wrote: That gold is really good. You are obviously a fan of the compounds. Personally I have never used them what would you say are the differences/advantages etc over using traditional paint?
Dry compounds, while a bit messier than traditional paint, can create more natural looking highlights than edge highlighting. And it's quicker.
Also, could I trouble you guys for advice on the claws, horns, and the spiky bits protruding from the Dracoth's limbs and neck?Colour suggestions welcome..
Niiice! I've always thought those blast craters were cool (and a pretty simple way of getting some cover on a 40k board) and the AoS piece is pretty cool too, lots of potential there with the designs on the gateway.
As for the teeth/claws/horns of the Dracoth, I think a natural look would suit them; brown blended up to ivory. That or black into grey could look pretty wicked if you want a more otherworldly/fantastical look!
Theophony wrote: For the claws you could go old school GW and do red. Would stand out from the model.
Hmm.. I could but I don't think it'd go all that well with the rest of the dracoth. Will have to experiment.

I was thinking either Dirty Black or Ivory. Though a lot of animals tend to have claws that are a darker shade to their pigmentation. Take my dog for example: She's a golden brown colour, but when you get to her claws they're a dark brown colour. So maybe Abaddon black with some highlights of Thunderhawk and Fenrisian Grey
Kings of War v2 has arrived!! **Edit: The Tyrant King made a break for freedom and jumped out of the box found him on the floor hiding in bubble wrap...
On the plus side, I have a box chock full of 2 starter armies (Orcs and Undead) to play around with . Whether or not they get painted this year is another matter entirely lol. Now just there's Dungeon Saga to wait for.. then I shall have a mighty force of Orcs to stomp some ded fings...
The book (both hard cover and soft cover) is pretty nice, but the world of Mantica is LITERALLY a copy-paste of WHFB with a few tweaks here and there to save their arses from IP lawyers.. lol. Come on Mantic, I KNOW you can write an original story... like Deadzone for instance.
I'm gonna be very excited to get my kickstarter pledge.....eventually. Glad to see yours made it to you, the brass rod is probably a good idea from that picture.
GrimDork wrote: I had a similar thought about the spear. Everything else is rather nice.
Yeah.. I'm actually surprised it didn't break in transit to me lol. Btw. You weren't kidding about the Orclings being small. Holy crap. I could dry brush them all in less than a minute lol.
Well the tyrant king Blaine I got was in some kind of bendy material I would never have called resin if that's not what they said it was. So that may have to do with the spear not being broken.
Been cracking on with the Liberators today in the hope of clearing my "To do" pile...
Nuln Oil wash
Blocking out the gold bits...
My brother made a start on his Khorne Goretide warband using The Blackspikes scheme for his Blood Warriors.
And I had a mess about with a table layout the moonscape terrain really adds to the feel of a war-torn realm...I'm thinking Chamon..
Somewhat disappointed with the Ophidian Archway though, huge gaps on the serpenty columns. Going to have to plasticard or green stuff it to fill it in.
Nothing like a bit of batch painting to get through the pile, looks like you could have most of the Strormcast done quickly. Pretty cool scheme that your brother has gone for as well.
Shame about the archway, the gaps do not look too bad there are they worse in person?
Shame about the archway, the gaps do not look too bad there are they worse in person?
Worse on the sides and the rear. All the pieces with exception to the base, and the 1st level floor have a wedge shape to them so they fit together. Not really a snug fit.
If there's bad faults with your archway, contact GW. Their customer service is awesome. Send them proof, ie a phot and they'll send you a new model. Really good at that
Januine wrote: If there's bad faults with your archway, contact GW. Their customer service is awesome. Send them proof, ie a photo and they'll send you a new model. Really good at that
I may just do that. Can't beat getting owt for nowt
On a side note, has anyone noticed how much the Lord Celestant's hammer stands out in the background? I put a couple of layers of Guilliman Blue glaze on it the other day, and I didn't quite realise how much it stands out lol.
Bottle wrote: Your Stormcast Eternals are starting to look great! Nice work. Are you going to bring out the blue a bit more or keep it subdued?
Probably keep it a bit subdued for my rank and file, then add a bit of shine for the commanders.

Pics:
Brother's Blood Warriors pics are a bit crap since the black seems to drink all the light up... in true Chaos style. I had to put a filter on the pic to bring out the colours
Thraxas Of Turai wrote: Looks like it will not be long until you have most of your Stormcast done, you can troll your brother as he will still have loads to paint!
Have you decided upon how you are going to base your Stormcast yet?
In fairness, my brother is also working on his Khorgorath beastie as well as his Blood Warriors. Goretide force has a good deal more minis to do than Stormcast..
Nice job. The bone/white colour came out really well.
It's a pretty sweet figure but I still just don't get where they were going with the head/face on that sculpt
I'm really liking the color scheme you chose for your Stormcast, It gives them a kind of knightly hero feel, and looks so much better than the standard gold and blue.
A few random things on today's update, mostly my brother's painting...hell he's even on about getting MORE stuff for his Khorne Bloodbound. So first up, some Age of Sigmar-ness..
For his Bloodreavers (Marauders) he's chosen the Crimson Fury (bottom of this post) warband to accompany his Blackspikes Blood Warriors into battle. For the skin he used Rakarth Flesh for the base with a wash of Blue Ink (old gw paints) then dry brushed with Pallid Wych Flesh to finish. Gives a rather nice pale look to the skin.
Next up we have some more WIP of the Blood Warriors- he's given some of them a baleful green glow to their weapons for a daemon-imbued look. I think it's worked out rather well!
I had a little experiment with the Martian Ironearth for the Realm of Chamon themed base, still needs neatening up a bit with a detail or standard brush to get right up next to the feet. Or I may be lazy and use the grass tufts instead..
Just got to polish off the Liberators then paint the remaining 2 prosecutors and retributors. As well as Ionus Cryptborn.
Been suffering some painters block lately though so I've been working on my Battle Systems terrain stuff. Got most of it assembled just got the last few sheets to work on. I figured I've had the stuff for nearly 18months so I best do something with it haha.
Mine is till sitting in a plastic tub. Not enough time (or gaming) to spend faffing around with it. The skin on the Khorne guys has indeed come up very nicely, and I think the green glow on the axes of the others really works. It's subtle enough to not be garish.
Your Sigmarine also looks good. The base is effective, and I think the tufts are a good idea even if you do touch his feet up with the brush.
Just about got ALL of the Battle Systems sci-fi stuff assembled now. The stairs are a bugger to put together without damaging them though :( Might have to use the HIPS stairs from Deadzone.Hurggghhhh. So. Much. Card. As well as some priming done for my plastic terrain- the moonscape stuff(not pictured), the Dark World temple thing and the Crashed Aquila Lander from Battle of Macragge. Some of the pieces were still drying when I took the pics.
On to the pics!
Small update tonight- painting Captain Karlaen's head.. Really happy with how this guy's coming along. So without further ado, here's the pic. C&C welcome
Also- caved and bought 2 more boxes of SCE Liberators for Age of Sigmar. I'm thinking a full unit of 10 with sword and shields. Or possibly all 10 dual wielding swords and parrying blades. The latter grants me the ability to reroll 'to hit' rolls of 1 in melee. Shields grant me the ability to reroll saving throws of 1 though. Which is equally helpful. Also for every 5 models in the unit, I can bump things up a notch and have a Grand blade or Grand hammer which causes a -1 saving throw modifier.
Cheers Para, Thinned my paints down a good bit for that and I think it's really paid off! I'm tempted to give a final highlight of Flayed One Flesh, but I'm worried I might bugger it up lol.
How much battle systems stuff did you get? I got the main pledge and a bunch of add-ons but I'm running out of clips before I have even half of my walls built. The wall clips, not the plastic ones. Gonna have to make some of my own. Planning to make some cramped corridors for your blood angels to sweep clean of tyranids?

Actually I was thinking more like Zone Mortalis type stuff or Deadzone. And maybe AvP wargame if I ever fething get my KS exclusive copy lol.
GrimDork wrote: Yeah that works too Zone mortalis is a mod for 40k right, basically 40k but inside?
Pretty much. Though Kill Team works just as well I think. Haven't had a chance to play either yet. And to answer your earlier question I got the Stronghold pledge as well as the docking bay sprues. Quite a nice little 2x2 board to play on.
On a different note- I downloaded Blood Bowl 2 on Steam today. Such a great little game. Though I was playing as Humans vs Dwarfs. Man, those Dwarfs give you a run for your money! Takes ages to knock em into the dirt!! Slayers are such a pain in the arse!
He is coming along nicely, especially like the gold on the thunder hammer. Hell of a lot of terrain you have there too, nice storage set up for it as well.
Back once again folks- this time with a WIP on the Stormcast Eternals and the Khorne Bloodbound...
Say hi to the Lord Relictor WIP
and some freshly assembled Liberators dual wielding hammers with a 2 handed hammer there for extra smiting. These guys are sooo nice to assemble. Takes all of 5mins to prep these guys for priming, barely any flash on them. Plus the pauldrons aren't quite as frustrating to clean up as they were in the AoS box set. The gates are just under the trim of them in the 5 man box set instead of in the middle of the shoulder plate.
My brother also made himself a Skullgrinder (basically a Khornate blacksmith swinging a daemonically blessed anvil on a chain) Made from Wrathmonger/Skullreaper torso & head and some chain from Zinge- has wire inside it to allow you to bend it.
...and an Exalted Deathbringer (champion) of Khorne- made from Wrathmonger/Skullreaper torso and head with a Skullcrusher cavalry Skullreaper 2 handed axe.
Azazelx wrote: That Blood Angel is coming along really nicely, as is the Sigmarine Standard. I'm also loving these Khorne guys - some great conversions there!
Yeah 30 quid for 5 models is a lot more efficient than I think, about 20 quid for just 1.
Thraxas Of Turai wrote: The standard Stormcast minis do look great, and your brother is knocking out some excellent conversions.
Have you two had any more battles recently?
No, we're focusing on getting the models painted currently. We're perfectly content to play with unpainted minis but to be honest, they look a hell of a lot cooler with some paint on.
Azazelx wrote: That Blood Angel is coming along really nicely, as is the Sigmarine Standard. I'm also loving these Khorne guys - some great conversions there!

The Lord Relictor is the equivalent of a cleric/chaplain in AoS.
Great, another person with a Dreamforge Leviathan .........oh wait, you probably bought a knight titan from GW. Either way it will look great, especially if you do it in your stormcast color scheme.
It's going grand. I magnetised the crap out of it when I built it a few months ago but only getting around to painting him the now. Do yourself a big favour though and pick up a can of leadbelcher spray. It'll save your sanity. So much metal needs painting and so many little nooks and crannies to get at. Base spray it with the GW leadbelcher will save you a hell of a lot of time. I've just got the main body's metalsdone this today. took me the best part of the whole day. Just need to add the grime and filth now and can move onto the armour. Results are over on my admech plog

Oh don't worry I got plenty for my Necrons and Stormcast Eternals! They drink that stuff!
Small update today- started assembling the Knight and my brother converted up a nice Beast Lord for AoS Beastmen using the Wrathmonger kit. and a Bestigor head. What do we think?
I'd definitely magnetise the Knight if you can, this new version of the kit comes with so many options that you're basically short-changing yourself if you don't make use of as many as you can!
hk1x1 wrote: I like the winged Daemon Prince at the back there, and are those metal wings from the old Bloodthirster model?
As for the Knight, I agree with Januine. Magnet's magnets everywhere .
They are- pinned and green stuff'd for good measure. We all know how much of a pain gluing metal to plastic is lol. You might notice a familiar Ork's power klaw on him too lol. I'd like to think the daemon prince lost his arm in combat as a mortal fighting an Ork war boss and took its power klaw after killing it.
Knight pretty much assembled. Just have to put the nipple stubber on and shield (the latter came off- ffs) The armour plating is all dry fitted with exception to the Gatling cannon thing. Puny cultist there for scale and for funsies- I'm imagining the Knight has just burst through a wall and is stomping after him lol. No such thing as overkill where heretics and traitors are concerned... Can't be arsed with magnetising so I'm just going to try and get my mitts on an Knight's arm section so I can turn him into a Knight Errant if I choose.
Thraxas Of Turai wrote: Any particular Household that you are going for, or is it a personal colour scheme?
Going for a House Stark (I'm an ASOIAF fan obvy) look. The Direwolf for the House sigil (using Space Wolf transfers ) Colours will be bone white and green. Should fit nicely with my Dark Angels I think.
Sweet. That leadbelcher spray - oh how much painintheass basecoating time does that save eh?!!!! It does come out very bright and shiney though compared to the leadbelcher out of the pot. I had to use 2-3 coats of nuln oil to tone it down. One problem I did notice with it was that sucessive paint on top of it sometimes doesnt adhere.
Great idea for a colour scheme though - House Stark. Will look awesome in the midst of a DA force. Got to it AOV!!!

Oh, I meant the Khorne guys as conversions - particularly the champion with the Bloodletter head. I've got some AoS starter box stuff here (not that I've done anything with it). Cool to see that Knight Time has arrived here as well...
Coming along slowly due to life, here's a WIP shot of my Knight all shaded up with 2 coats of Nuln Oil. You should be able to see the pot of it in the background. 1st coat didn't really take that well due to the leadbelcher spray as Januine mentioned. Next, will be the Agrax Earthshade on the various moving parts. So arm joints and the hydraulic rams on the legs etc. to show they've seen some maintenance. Probably need 2 coats for that as I imagine they'd need a fair bit to prevent any ceasing up on the battlefield.
Looty loot loot Dungeon Saga stuff received! Sadly no time to play with it just now as I'm busy relocating. Tokens and what have you are all in the box still as I've not popped them out. What's funny is that I emailed them this morning to ask when I might receive my pledge, only to come back from work to find it waiting for me! Say what you will about Mantic, but they're getting pretty damn good at the Kickstarter fulfilment (granted there's a few exceptions obviously!)
Nice delivery to come home to. On top of the 26 miniatures in the retail boxed set how many miniatures have you now added to the pile? And did you opt for any of the resin figures?
Hope once you have relocated we will see more progress on the Knight.

Yeah. Got the legendary ones for the archer, wizard, barbarian and dwarf. Got the Orc, Abyssals, and Tyrant expansions plus one of the undead boosters and the Orc booster. So..lots.Speaking of which, there's been a bit of grumbling by folks on the mantic threads about the dragon, but I personallly like him. He's got a bit of a Flight of Dragons vibe that I quite like. (Google it if you aren't familiar)
A very nice haul then AOV. I have seen some of the moaning about the dragon, from a lot of the usual suspects, but the design has been in the open for an age and people knew what they were getting. If anything it is quite a characterful mini and is dirt cheap. Are the resin casts nice and crisp? Just a shame that the rulebook(s?) seem to have quite a few errors that could have easily been rectified.
@Az: You have painted more than enough rank and file recently, just treat yourself to something bigger (I am assuming a phone autocorrected Knight?).

Yeah not sure what went off with the rulebook lol. Complete cluster feth but nothing that can't be worked around. The resin casts are beautifully done- I think, by Prodos?
Looking forward to seeing what you do with your haul. My only complaint with the dragon, is lack of textured base. I think the base being the same as the heroes would have given it a sense of scale.
Yep, looking forward to seeing this stuff get painted! Any plans regarding what order they'll be painted in?
And could you possibly grab a couple of shots of the dragon showing its size and a few angles? Still can't decide whether I like it or not.
Pretty sure Az was getting at 'Keira' as in 'Knightley' as in 'knight'. Nerdfest09 used the same epithet for his, so perhaps the Aussie version of rhyming slang is 'substitute a tangentially related word'. (in other words, just like the English version but without the five and dime-ing... sorry, rhyming...)
Buttery Commissar wrote: Looking forward to seeing what you do with your haul. My only complaint with the dragon, is lack of textured base. I think the base being the same as the heroes would have given it a sense of scale.
They also didn't sculpt the crown in his mouth (around his tooth), but I suspect that probably involved making his teeth a lot bigger...

PS> I did wonder wtf he was on about there, I'll be honest! lol. Like I said in my earlier post though, there won't be any hobbying besides packing minis into Really Useful Boxes/ Crusade cases! Mid-November I should be back in action though
Soo not much got done today besides packing up my Dark Eldar into a Crusade case. I'm having to put the Raiders/Ravagers/Venom/Reaper in a RUB (Really Useful Box). Also found my Voidraven and (another!) Raider-unassembled. Just got some stragglers from my Necrons namely flyers, CCB a few FW Necron Acanthrites and my Immortals. Already got my Blood Angels, Dark Angels and the majority of my Necrons and teeny tiny Chaos force packed up. My Stormcast Eternals are proving to be a nuisance transport wise. The Prosecutors, Lord Celestant, and Lord Relictor are a bit on the chunky side, height-wise. Need a deeper box to fit them in. Skaven and Beastmen aren't an issue really since most of them are in bits. All my Mantic stuff is packed into their relevant boxes. Haven't really done anything with KoW or Dungeon Saga yet, and all the Battlezones tiles are already in boxed up. Deadzone- all that stuff is comfortably packed away in the rather spacious box it came in.
Can't wait to move in at ++REDACTED BY THE INQUISITION++ . So much more room to play around with!
NB: The Dark Eldar Scourge and Talos/Cronos were a bit tricky also due to all the little arms and wings poking everywhere

Now, I've been without internet at the new place for 5 weeks courtesy of British Telecom fething things up. Here's a few tidbits I've managed to do now I'm (sort of) settled in.
On a slightly different note, my snotty email to Prodos this week seems to have paid off.Overall, I think I've sent 40 emails in 3 months, chasing them up for my stuff. The majority of which, went unanswered. No more Prodos stuff. EVER. Worst KS experience ever. I will supposedly be receiving the majority of my AvP pledge rewards. So that's the box set with 5 Alien Warriors, x1 Alien Praetorian, x1 Alien Queen, x1 Crusher/Bull Alien, x2 Predator Hellhounds, x1 Pred-Alien, x1 Pred Berserker. Errr I think that's it. So I will now be waiting on the Predator Youngbloods (basically the ones from AvP1 movie), some resin Facehuggers and objective markers.
Now for piccies. Enjoy and thanks for viewing.

Paradigm wrote:As much as it sounds like it's been a ridiculous hassle, I look forward to seeing some AvP stuff painted up. Are you getting any Marines?
Only the ones that came with the game. I'm not that bothered about Colonial Marines, to be honest. Give me freaky alien monstrosities any day though!
**Edit: Not sure if preferences for alien monsters is a good thing!
I forgot to mention that I also snapped up this gorgeous set of Freeblade decals from GW. These should prove useful for my ASOIAF themed Knight. Probably the first time ever that I've seen GW tie in a release with a video game! Strange times indeed!
Fair enough. I agree to be honest, the Marines while nice are nothing new, whereas the Predators and Aliens themselves are really nice. I don't need the game, but price pending I may pick up a Pred or two to paint up.
There was talk of plastic Aliens and Preds from Prodos ages ago, any word on if that is still happening? Or have the fethed things up too badly to take that kind of gamble?

They've got a severe case of "skint mate" at the moment I think. But they can't accept any buyout offers which was mentioned a while back(I think it's Mantic looking to eat them) until AvP is sorted. If Mantic does eat them, that would be a powerhouse. Prodos' casting quality with Mantic's excellent games would be awesome.
Ah, so sprued Aliens and Predators aren't likely to materialise, then. I'll just have to pick up a set of the (admittedly very nice) resin ones at some point... And then do some house rules for BMG, because Batman vs Predator kind of needs to happen...

Yeah, plastic is hugely expensive for them to run, compared to resin. I think they've got maybe a literal handful of plastic Predator sprues, but that's it. The rest is a pipe dream at the moment.
Batman vs Predator would be fun! Though preferably written by someone that's not Prodos lol. Apparently the rules for AvP are pretty messy. But without having played the game I can't confirm that lol.
5 weeks...damn. Hope you are settled/settling in well now though. I had not seen that thread, I rarely venture out of news and rumours and the blogs section really.
I still cannot believe how badly the AVP backers have been treated.

Yeah thankfully my Kickstarter experiences have been 90% positive. Creature Caster and AvP are the ones I've been waiting longest for!
So I finally got hold of the majority of my AvP stuff this week. Had a bit of a flick through it last night and can confirm that I now have the correct version!
A few pet peeves, though-
The door stands (basically a small black disc with a slot across the top) make a bloody mess of the cardstock doors when you try to slot them in. Far, far too tight. I'll just use Space Hulk doors instead. The Pred with the Combi-stick you get is verrry flimsy. Though, surprisingly the Smart disc is pretty damn impressive for such a thin bit of resin. The tiles you get aren't anywhere near the quality you get with say, Space Hulk, but they're not bad! The models overall are excellent. Haven't had a chance to look through the rules yet.
Also had a bit of a play with some of the additional beasties, such as the Pred-Alien, Crusher Alien, Alien Queen (disappointingly she's missing a set of vestigial arms) and Praetorian Alien. The Crusher is MASSIVE. Really, really big beastie. Pred-Alien is also pretty impressive!
Hello all, apologies for going dark on the blog- so much life crap in the way at the moment! I've not really had a chance to play with the AvP stuff, as I am somewhat sickened just looking at it.
ANYWAYS. I have managed to get a wee bit done today by test painting a Legion Dark Angels marine.. Still very WIP as I started a bit late tonight. So far he's been primed, base coated Abaddon Black and dry brushed with Etherium Blue for highlights. Might need to go back and do the eye lens on him again though.. He's also got a green shoulder pad, to show he was recruited from Caliban. What do we think?
**god dammit I forgot the fething smartphone rule when taking photos...
evildrcheese wrote: Looking good. The green shoulder pad is cool idea, is that from the fluff or just something you've come up with?
EDC
Tis fluffy. In Master of the First it describes how the marines from Terra were in all black armour, but those from Caliban marked parts of their armour green to honour their home world.
So not too long ago, I promised some pics of the AvP stuff. My brother had a play with some of the kits today and to put it mildly, they're "fiddly as feth". They really are verry small. I should have put a scale pic up.. Next time maybe.
Here's some Predator dogs and a wee bit more on my Horus Heresy Marine. He's had some basing gubbinz put on- the Urban basing tutorial looks ideal for Betrayal at Calth models since there's a lot of fighting going off in those underground archologies. Plus, a couple of models I knocked together this evening
