Yawn, he hasn’t even taken office and already the cheap shots begin. Seriously comparing his presidency to soviet Russia is just plain insulting and only displays the vast lack of imagination on behalf of the makers of the video. A bit like the fools who compare Bush/Blair to Hitler.

I always thought this was a purely British rite of passage/humiliation. Perhaps our nations do have more in common than language, an interest in frying things and a distrust of the French !

Yes but at least the media waited untill Bush screwed up before launching their attacks. I'm of the opinion that he very much deserved the vast majority of critism aimed at him. I'll have no objection to genuine critism of Obamas actions in the coming years and I'm sure he will get plenty. I am however confident that he will get allot less stick and allot more praise than Bush.

I heard that they revised the Oath of Office. It was:

I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will faithfully execute the office of President of the United States, and will to the best of my ability, preserve, protect, and defend the Constitution of the United States.

It's been changed to:

I do solemnly swear that I am not George Bush.

I still think it should be the chicken dance. No country would ever mess with us again-any nation insane enough to do the chicken dance is insane enough to do anything.

In 1981 a version of the "Chicken Dance" was released in Britain as an instrumental novelty tune "The Birdie Song" by The Tweets. Adapted (per some accounts) by Mike Rae, an Aberdeen-based bass player, it reached number two in the singles chart in October 1981.[1][2] In 2000, this version was voted as "the most annoying song of all time" in a poll commissioned for the website dotmusic.[2]

Truly it was a blight on the 80 in general. Personally I think that the Aga-Doo (sp ?) song is worse but it's still awful.

I think it's tainted for me as I still remember it from the other perspective.

Not that of being your daughter at a girl scout dance I hasten to add (....... .....) !

More from being forced to dance to said song whilst a child by grandparents, aunts etc etc at family gatherings.

Damnit ! Couldn't they tell I was cool !

Still look on the bright side. Few years and you'll have a decent chance of taking them to court over that !

And the whole baby pics/embarrassing stories when she brings dates home.

You still planning on sitting there cleaning a gun when they arrive ?

Oh yea. we have a storehouse of embarrasing photos...just waiting...waiting...

Depends. Anywhere from cleaning a pistol, to surprising her with a new gun I conveniently give after he shows up, all the way to firing a few accidental rounds in his direction.

So, I actually watched all three, and frankly, I'm not sure what the point the latter two are. The first one is nicely satirical, although I found the image of "Muslims for Obama" to be tipping the creators (or audience's) hand a little bit from disagreement to fear or even hatred. It's clearly a message meant for the base of oppposition, as it simply states the things the obama stands for as inherently bad (abortion rights, taxes, pulling out of Iraq) and so does very little to actually sway any moderates. It's the funniest of the three, but also in many ways the most disturbing. It gets my vote as the best simply because it actually has a message and is more political and less farcical.

The second one confused me. Is the joke just that he's black? The only attempts at politcal humor I could find were references to "not needing permission" and locking up enemies. Is it just me, or did somebody just recycle jokes about the last president?!? It's got a pretty catchy song though.

The third one seems, if anything, to glorify the guy! Yeah, he's the first black president, he's young, intelligent, articulate and good looking. I bet he's feeling pretty good about himself right now. The whole video seemed like the obama version of the old gospel songs with Bush singing about how he's a born again. We've gone from the first Right wing evangelical (Carter was an evangelical before it was cool, BTW) to the first black president.

All in all, as a troll attempt I give it a C-, and I'm being generous. As an attempt at comedy, while the latter two videos both went on way to long, the first one props up the comedy to a solid B.

Hahahaha.

Cry some more.

You're already bawing and he hasn't even become president yet.

How about this: when he stars an unnecessary war, removes restrictions on mountain topping for coal mining, continues the privatization of the military, and allows another massive economic plunge to happen under his presidency, and does all the other things that makes Bush so distasteful I honestly pledge to criticize him to.

Also, the songs would be funny if you weren't so dead set on trying to stick the "socialist" moniker on him. The guy is middle of the road.

Actually no they didn't. There was a media campaign to discredit the amount of money he spent on the inauguration prior to him even taking office. BTW that amount was about 1/3rd the amount Obama spent, just for comparison.

The difference between Bush's and Obama's inauguration is that a majority of voters voted FOR Obama. Throw in the weeks of legal wrangling and an ultimate decision in the Supreme Court, and it's not surprising that it didn't require the same kind of budget.

Oh yeah, and there might be an angle to this one that makes it a teeny bit more historic, don't you think?

Obama is going to be boring by comparison, though. Bush 43 was comic gold unseen since Ford was tripping over everything or Bush 41 was puking in foreign leaders' laps. And Bush was far more consistently funny than either of those two.

Bon voyage, Shrub.

Actually if you really want to get technical, the Majority of people didn't vote for either candidate at all by about 2/3rds. But then this is about as relevant as your comment about the "majority of voters voting for Obama" bit. Oh and on a side note, in 2004 Bush did receive the majority of the Popular vote.

True, but Obamas was significantly larger, and given post 9/11 world crap security had to be much tighter. Never know when some skinhead is going to try and protect the purity of America, and it's not cheap to organize 2.2 million safely.
