I have read nothing to indicate that, BoLS has nothing relating the picture to one of the supposed new LR variants.

to me it looks like a conversion. it looks like the barrel's back end is the same as the usual battle cannon, and they just cut it short and stuck some plastic tubes in there to give it that gatling gun look

thought i would hit google and see what i could find, nothing new or unconverted, but this did make me laugh, seems like any orks dream:

Easy to do that Tank. Standard old plastic Russ, not a "recut".
If those "new" Tanks are just a few different gunbarrels/muzzles, we don't need any "new" plastic russ then.
Maybe its only a seperate mail order only upgrade sprue.

I vote no, since we know the LR sprue will be recut and I don't see anything else new on the tank I suspect it is just a conversion.

In fact I think the bit on the end is a tank top from the Imex chemical plant. I use them in my chaos tanks.

Well, I thought it was given there would be a new variant of the leman russ(have you seen it in the guard section of the big rulebook?). I think this could be it.

Well there you have it. I mean sure, MAYBE he got a prerelease ultra-rare new IG variant but I think it's a lot more likely this is just a conversion. If it was the studio army I might give it the benefit of the doubt but not for someone's personal army.

plastic shadowsword were presented to online-forums (ammo bunker) before and some staffers claim to build them in january.
So i doubt plastic russes, since we heard that those models will be wave 2 releases.

Yeah, if we can rely on what rumors we have, we should not be seeing any plastic IG tank releases until about 2010 at the earliest (if they follow the same "wavy" release pattern as they did with Orks).

should have known it was from GW, it has a hull lascannon with heavy bolter sponsons!

Neat, last time they made mention of their writing schedules they said it was Summer and Football was being played at the time of writing while I was reading it in December.

I can see it being a valid release from GW as I was looking at the new Shadowsword box the other day and there is a version that can be made that has 2 assault cannon on the front of the upper hull. The cannons look very much like the one on the Russ

Those a Vulcan Mega Bolters, and are much, much bigger than that.

I'm not going to sit here and say 100% yeah thats a new varient, but I saw at least two people mention that a Heavy 29 tank was incoming for the Guard before that spanish BOLS post about the Punisher came up.

So although I am still looking at said rumours with a huge ammount of salt, I do think it might be possible. Now as my two main foes atm are Horde Orks and Tyranids, I'll be loving one maybe two of those if it does indeed prove to be true.

Plus I love the look of it, so I hope so.
