Well thats a sweet conversion, but then the question is what will the official GW kit look like?

Different? so GW has to sell the old russ-kits first?

I think we get those "CAD" turrets (GD uk) on chimera hulls.
And the chimera hull may stay as it is, but get new weapon / upper hull sprue if the chimera+hellhound is redone and more artillery tanks to come back / become plastic.

But i hope they recut the russ to be less "toy", maybe also loose some WW1 look.
The russ as it is just don't fit into the other imperial tech design.

Possible new tanks should be the chance to move the russ design forward.

Oh I agree, although I think GW needs to be upfront and honest if thats the case and warn folks.

Imagine if you buy four or five Leman's this year for your new Guard army, and then next spring a new version Russ like the Land Raider re-release where its 100% better and no longer matches the older ones as its too large/wider/longer appeared.

There would be a lot of gutted folks out there.

Although after typing that, I think for that reason, plus how it would invalidate all of FW's stuff. They will probably just stick with the Leman as it is.
A little bit of a shame as I think its a little small now when sitting next to the Rhino.


Plus, anyone with three Companies of the old style Lemans might have a heart attack.

The Russ might get an updated sprue and some minor cosmetic changes, nothing too severe or extreme. After all, the Leman Russ and Chimera are iconic vehicles that represent the Imperial Guard and to some degree, 40k.

Why not recut the turret and change the tracks?

The whole tank has a problem:

-its only multipart because your tracks and chassis is divided into too many pieces.
-turret is too small, not really compatible with "new" plastic weapons.
-hatches and additional weapons already replaced with vehicle upgrade sprue, why not the front weapon / sponsons too?






And someone with a few LR would be heard across the pacific / asia if there would be any russ as easy to build as current SM tanks.

If any recutting happened on the LR it would probably just be to make the millions of incredibly annoying wheels into one piece. I really hate assembling those wheels. You never even see them!

They need to redo the treads on that thing like the Rhino treads. Can it be done tomorrow? Or yesterday even?

Sorry, I was in a blissful state of ignorance is bliss, you're right. I do wish they weren't making more varients. Although more effort has apparently been put into naming them than the new super heavies.

I actually kinda like the wheels (just wish there were more). They can be prety handing for conversions. The turret and sponsons do need a bit of work though and I'd like even more accesories!

There's supposed to be a recut with the demolisher turret and the exterminator turret, but that's supposed to be the punisher. It probably will look like the new SM mini gun on treads. The thundersiege or something gun's barrels on the end of a turret.

The conversion there has 5 barrels while the thunderfire gun has 4. The gun shown is one of the vulcan mega-bolter guns from the new baneblade variant.

Yes, the Punisher is a real tank in the new Codex.

However, this is NOT the official model for the Punisher, it's a conversion and has been proven as such(the front of the barrel is from the Stormlord's VMB).
