I have to say that I'm not a fan of the Vulkan model - way too busy.

Planetstrike on the other hand.....well, it should prove to be interesting.

Put me in the boat of the people who aren't a fan of the Vulkan model. ONe big put off is the flame on the back. If i were to actually buy that model the flame would get cut off. Personally I like how mine is turning out right now.

The helmet looks like the imperial knock-off of an Eldar Striking Scorpion.

Now it said it was a Games Day Exclusive does that mean you have to go to buy the model, cause I thought the Chaos Warrior was this years GD model?

I love the Vulkan model, but I think it needs a more bionic head, should be an easy fix! Gauntlet of the Forge is especially nice

The model is not a Games Day exclusive - they were just saying that you should go to Games Day as you will see "exclusive" sneak peeks of upcoming stuff.

haha very true. And yes, while planetstrike has an awesome cover, that vulkan model looks terribad :(.

I just skimmed the Warseer thread that this info came from, and now I'm back on Dakka to wash the wishlisty off. That being said, some apocalypse-size craters would be sweet.

I always love the cover in which the IG always manages somehow to go HtH with the assault crowd.

But yeah, Planetstrike. Awesome. I want to see buildings. Also, do you think we'll see a re-release (and maybe a few new) Valhallan models? We got Voystroyans with Cities of Death, so could we be getting some Valhallans to do with Planetstrike?

Not plastic 'Great Coat' Guard or any other wishlisty nonsense, but just a re-pack of a basic squad, maybe some re-done heavy weapons, and a new Valhallan Command Squad with a new (or even the old) Chenkov model. Seems reasonable.

So we're talking sieges, orbital assaults, strongholds, fortresses, defensive lines, and so on. Complete with releases for every race ('cept DH, WH and DE no doubt) and a stack of new buildings.

Should be total awesomesauce.

From what has come out about it so far it is a Cityfight/Cities of Death style expansion for 40k.

Well, I like the model. A lot. The flame on the back is a little goofy, but other than that he's a badass.

Are there rules for Ork roks?

Bitter? Believe me I am quite happy to let GW continue to ignore DH and WH, because as soon as they start paying them any attention, the Bland-i-fication will start. Once that happens gone will be the Rogue's Gallery of Inquisitorial units (as terrible as they may be) and soon we'll be greeted with Codex: Grey Knights and Codex: Sisters of Battle. All the Inquisitorial stuff will become "generic" and when someone says 'Mystic' or 'Daemonhost', most people will respond with "What are those?". As an Inquisitorial player I'll be happy if they never touch the books again...

Not a moan - I have no interest nor investment in DE, so what happens to them bothers me little - but history shows us that DE always get the shaft. I mean, every Codex in the range has gone through at least two revisions if not three. DE hasn't.

But this you know already, so I'll leave that line of discussion there.

Let's get back to talking about something far more important - solid info on the new PlanetStrike buildings!!! Does anyone have any? The Warseer threads mentions that the Bastion that's been in a lot of shots now is a scratch build (), but the barricades are real. What else do we know?

LIES They had a Second Printing in 3rd ed! And Space Wolves and the 2 =][= Armies haven't had any revisions either, nor have necrons (I'm not counting the stealth Second Printings that they all went through)

Oh yeah. Necrons, DH, WH and Space Wolves. I can't believe I forgot about them. I'm an idiot. Ok, well it's the oldest Codex at least.

Nope, Space Wolves is older
Dark Eldar got that newfangled 2nd edition printing that added like a single page. That makes it newer than the SW Codex

Of course 70% of the SW List is actually from the new Codex: Ultramarines so its a moot point

The cover looks nice! I really can't wait to play attack and defend scenarios, should prove very interesting! But no doubt most Tyranid players will get fed up of always being the attackers, and the same for IG players almost always stuck on the defense! xD

I hope the new buildings (if they'll be any) will be good for necromunda too!
