Time for a game of 'Lame To Fame!'
Think I ran this before on here, but a quick recap on the rules.
List a famous person you have a particularly tenuous link to, and of course how you are linked to them.
For instance, here is one of mine....
I drink in a pub occasionally frequented by 'John The Barman' from Shaun of the Dead.
Now, continue.

I knew a guy (he's in his sixties) who supposedly is/was a confidentant to Mark Wahlberg. Apparently they had somehow met each other before Mark became famous and the guy I know gives him personal/spiritual advice.
I've never believed it, but you never know.

I ambushed Carolyn Arends by sneaking past a security guard to chat with her. She had this "ugh, a fan" kind of look at first and I started asking her some relatively deep questions, to which she gave me really good replies and then asked what I thought too. Just as she was about to walk away, she turned back around then asked me a couple more questions, with me shooting a few more her way. This process happened one more time, this time with her being a good 5 steps away then turning and running back towards me. It felt good to I know I was though provoking Other than that I used ot be heavily involed in the local music scene in DFW. I knew "The Afters" when they were still Blisse, and before that when they were still the Screaming Mimes. I also followed Inhabited from the bottom up. With my parents being who they were, when I was a kid I probably had lunch with every television minister you've ever seen :p
As for real celebrities, I want to chat with Tracy Bonham before I die.

As a youth, I worked at Maple Leaf Gardens as an usher. I met all the classic 90s WWF wrestlers. The coolest ones were Ted DiBiase and Big Boss Man, whose style of haircut I sported at the time. Also, I met a lot of pro Hockey players, John Candy, 2 ex PMs of Canada (I hassled John Turner for his ticket 'cause he was a drunk bum) and Doug Flutie.

And,I honestly have to say,out of all of them, Joey Ramone was the coolest and most down to earth.

Ty. I just believe in defending my countries flag and it's freedoms and people. It's a shame more people aren't more patriotic.
I remember when they took the Pledge out of Mn. schools. I wrote a kindly worded letter to the governor at the time stating why I thought it was wrong and that I felt it was a disservice. I got a reply but it didn't change things. Still felt good to show someone my patriotism. My friends and I love this country and we look down highly on people who bad mouth it or even burn the flag, ESPECIALLY flag burners. Hate this country that much, gtfo. Don't want you here, don't need you here.

Aww man, don't get this derailed into a Whitey hates NA pissing contest.
I'm sure Custer did not burn the flag in front of the Natives before killing 90% of the buffalo to force starvation.
As a Minnesotan you don't want to hear my opinions on NA's. Trust me, it would offend you and it would get me banned. LOL.
Hey, we were even kind enough to let them (NA's) stay here and live amongst us and to eventually allow them to build casinos that allows them to live better than most white folks do.

Oh, because I'm proud of my country and will defend it against anyone I don't deem worthy of living here I'm sitting on a high horse and am self-righteous? I have the right to be offended when someone defaces the symbol of our country. Yay for Freedom of Speech but burning the American Flag in front of me is offensive and we, as Americans are free to express ourselves so long as it does not offend someone. So I'm wrong in telling flag burners to gtfo because they offend me but it's okay for them to be here in America because it's their right to burn the flag?
I'm glad you don't live in this country.

You don't want to start it Cheese. I'd prefer to not get banned (though I don't really care if I offend anyone). Much as I think Dakkaites whine more than posters on Whineseer (ironic how there is more anti- GW posts here than over there but Warseer is nicknamed Whineseer) I'd like to stick around a while.
So yeah, don't start. I deal with open reverse discrimination daily so I can back up my claims of NA's having it easier than whitey but I won't derail the thread.
I also sometimes drive by the house where Richard Dean Anderson, aka McGyver, was born and grew up in. He was born here in Mn for anyone that didn't know. Judie Garland (Dorothy in Wiz of Oz) grew up in a town about an hour from me.
