i woke up this morning to go to my grandma's to help replace her old flooring, I walk up to my truck and the passenger window is busted out, and my case of everything orky, gone. But, everything you would think what would get stolen, was still there, the gitz! SO thats my story on how i lost my 5000+ points of orks and lizardmen.

BUT, while i enjoyed my orks so much, i wanted to ORIGINALY play nids when i started 40k. So with he new release coming out, has anyone heard anything much about it? Other than they are getting that new unit that was in white dwarf, i forget the name)

Probably not, i have been jobless, so my insurance lapsed, JUST as i started working again.

Then I'll say a little prayer to the god of farming machine accidents to have a word with the thief and hope you enjoy the tyranids.

I wish there was farming equipment here, lol! i am in san diego. So i can hope for a drive by shooting of him / her (equal opportunity) and his / her family or something.

As for nerd rage, i donno, im almost 30. I have been jobless most of this year, i have hit rock bottom, bills piled up, flu, getting kicked out of my apartment. Luckily i have family that is letting me sleep on their couch.

So, i am comparing losing my orks to life issues that matter, lol.

That really sucks about your stuff, and I'll be on the watch out for it as I also live in Mission Viejo.

You -may- want to check out the Bizare Bazaar just in case it turns up there.

ill ask my friend to watch the bizzar, but the Los Angles bunker id almost a 100 mile drive from where they were stolen. None of the smaller shops are having a bizzar either.

Just spread the word to have a lookout, I'm sure your army has special models or the like which stand out.

They will stand out, they are all in Ice blue armor with Scorpion Green skin, with the bases painted different colors for unit difference, hehe

Had a friend lose a fairly sizable Ork army because his back door doesn't latch well. Took a turn and it opened, he reached back and closed it, and a couple days later he noticed his Orks were gone from the back seat. He periodically give him crap for his "Ditch Ork" army.

I lost a really large Bottlefleet Gothic Chaos fleet some years back. They had been stored in an old FLGS' shop where people could leave their stuff so they didn't have to bring it back and forth. My interest waned in the Warhammer, and I started to show up less until I eventually ended up taking a ~year off. At some point I remembered I had stuff there, went in to ask if by chance it was still around somewhere, but the owner had changed and the employees I didn't recognize had no idea where it might have ever ended up.

Check with your homeowner's or renter's insurance. They would be the ones to cover a theft of that type. I know. I lost almost $2000 worth of metal catachans (and that was YEARS ago). My homeowner's insurance ponied it straight up, no problems. Good Luck!

Tell us the area you live in ( city / state ) we'll have a look out on ebay for army with ice blue armor .

Check Ebay as well. Likely to turn up there as the Bizarre.

I caught that part. He didn't specify as to it being his auto or homeowner's, though. It also wouldn't have to be HIS insurance. If he lives with someone (parents, roommate) and they have it, he could, potentially, file a claim on that policy. When it happened to me, I tried to get my loss covered by my auto policy. Luckily for me, my agent set me straight and helped me go through the right processes.

you know, if we figure its totaly lost, like after a month with lookouts over the web/etc finding nothing, we could do what the people at podhammer did.

one of the podhammer hosts' friends was on his way to a tourney, and his ogres were stolen. so, podhammer appealed to the public for donations (of some sort) and the guy got help putting a semblance of an army together.

First off, sorry to hear.

You should probably file a police report regardless of insurance or not and then patrol eBay, Rogue Trader, here and just about any other gaming/trading site you can think of (and local sources of course) and I would even ask this thread be deleted and just wait.

Hopefully if and when the bastard tries to unload some of them you can catch him/her and possibly recover some or all of your stuff. Filing the police report is very important for this process. If they don't know it is stolen, they won't care if you find the person.

It is what I would do and good luck regardless of what you do about it.

Though on that topic, it is quite possible that after he found a bunch of models, the thief could have just dumped them somewhere after seeing that they weren't the intended item. I suggest checking around your neighborhood.

:( But at least you can start up the army you wanted.

Kinda makes one want to buy suitcase trackers like that movie "No Country for Old Men".

And the suggestions about checking local trades, Ebay, etc are good ones and worth following. Might be worth checking out Craig's list as well, if it was a random thief they may even list it under a generic name since the thief may not be familiar with 40k.

That being said look at the bright side! You get that shiny new army you always wanted!

That thief should hope he can survive getting crash tackled down a staircase.

Ill be at the LA Bazaar Bazaar... so just incase I see it there... how awkword would it be for him though... "Hey nice orks. You did'nt happen to get those out of someones truck after breaking the window aye?"

1: Contact the FLGS and inform em...
2: Check Ebay...
3: Check or call the local pwn shops...
